When I was diagnosed with cancer, I stopped all, bleaching my hair, (before I lost it all) no perfumes, no sweet smelling laundry detergent and softener, no deodorant, no lotions, organic soap etc. I figured my liver and kidney were working hard enough dealing with my chemo. I had to help. And ofcourse my diet went all whole foods. I truly believe all that helped greatly and was reason I am in remission
I did the exact same thing. My hair grew back a beautiful platinum and i get many compliments. All chemicals, that were used on my body, has been removed from my home.
I’m interested to know what did you use in replacement of those products like deodorant? Because I sweat but I noticed being clean shaven constantly keeps away odor.
I went to school to be a nail technician. 3/4 through the class, we were told that nail techs have a high cancer rate. As we were the first class in 20 years, it was not well organized and we did not follow proper protocol. No gloves, fans, etc. Before my license arrived in the mail, I was diagnosed with renal cancer, and had to have one kidney removed. I was fortunate not to have needed radiation or chemo, but I also was too afraid to do nails. I am now 7 years cancer free.
@@twopainters thank you. Now I am learning that all of these poisonous substances we put on our nails can seep into our bodies. Also lotions, hair dye and many beauty products. Fortunately for me, my husband has severe migraines that are triggered by strong scents, so I dont wear perfume, deodorant,, most make up, and I am very careful about household cleaners and laundry products. Of course air fresheners are out. If you can smell it, you are inhaling it.
I was in cosmetology in high school were we learned to do hair, make up and nails. After seeing how harmful most of the products used in hair and nails I decided not to get my license. Over the years I’ve used little to no make up, stop coloring my hair, never get gel, acrylic or dip nails. I paint my nails on special occasion but that’s about it. After learning about the endocrine system I’ve also stopped wearing expensive perfumes, I don’t use air fresheners or harmful chemicals to clean my home. I made all the efforts to reduce the number of pollutants and toxins in my home life.
You can use everything you listed and live for more than 80 years like my granny from my father's side. You can to not use everything you listed and die from cancer at the age of 50 like my granny from mother's side. Avoiding everything you like is not 100% solution, it's not a safe haven. Life is violent itself.
Did you know that there are hairdressers who only cut hair, even hairdressers who only do color, such as the Vidal Sasoon Salon. But most hairdressers like to do everything though, but still, it's your choice. And no matter what you do, you can't protect yourself from harmful chemicals. Think about it and look around you. Bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and pretty much everything we use are those chemicals that are harmful in many aspects. We must learn to detox our body with health remedies.
@@ur491remember how much hair we breathe in . I worked in full service for 12 yrs and the rest at a chain haircutting salon we used to do perms but they stopped I worked at that shop since 1996 till last year . I'm done doing hair . I have respiratory problems now . 😢
My wife had lots of vaginal problems (dryness, pain, smell, redness, etc), and she couldn't get rid of them. Then, my grandma seen her arsenal of "female hygiene products" in the bathroom, and she said: "Honey, you shouldn't even use soap for your kitty, especially not these s***!" Grandma was a midwife, so my wife took her advice, and all of her mentioned problems are gone in a few weeks! Vaginas have amazing self-cleaning and self-healing properties, don't ruin them with chemicals!
Happy to say as a woman I have no patience for nail polish, hair and make up routines. My laziness may have just spared me these horrific side effects of the toxic beauty world. Thank you Dr. Berg for this really important info !
My mom died of pancreatic cancer in 2020 at the age of 58. She was tested at UCSF and did not carry the gene for cancer so it was not genetic. I am an RN so I tried researching and thinking of all the things she did and consumed that might of caused her cancer and the 2 things she did for probably most of her life was dye her hair using the at home kits and get her acrylic nails done consistently. Thank you for educating people on how dangerous these items can be!
@Rocket Momma i use henna since I was 16. My hair are thick, shiny, they stopped falling and I have the healthiest hair from all my friends who get treatments in hair salons regularly. There is many forms (ready henna creams or powders) and tons of colours. I recommend powder version which you mix with warm water and apply on hairs, it’s have the simplest ingredients and not contain any preservatives. I’m 35 now, after two pregnancies, 4 years of breast feeding my hair stay as thick and healthy as from my teenage years.
I'm very sorry about your mother...at such a young age. 💔 My mother died in her 80s, then my only sibling at 58 (cancer, lifelong smoker). Then, when my sister was getting chemo, my dad and dog (all in same home) were dx w blood cancers. I became very suspicious when I read that the highest risk of blood cancers is exposure to chemo, including secondhand chemo. It was eye opening, especially because I've worked in (EX) pharma and patient advocacy and I never heard of the precautions that should be taken by caregivers or the high rate of cancer in oncology labs where they mix the chemicals. I'm not saying this to scare you, but just share a bit of knowledge. I hope that you have a healthy life. ❤️🙏
We as women are the target of so much TOXIC marketing. We really must research what products we are using. Thank you! Dr.Berg have to say I love you with a beard. ☺️
@@LunaSea11-11 I'm of an age now where comfort comes before fashion (65). I seldom go anywhere I need to wear makeup for (i.e nights out etc.) especially since the lockdowns. I used to dye my hair, usually red but found changes in the hair dye irritated my scalp, plus it seemed the "permanent" had become "temporary" and washed out fairly quickly. Add to that the skunk stripe I decided to go grey gracefully (!) Turned out I was a natural blonde with very little grey hair. I'd been dyeing my hair for so long, I'd forgotten what my natural colour was. Stopped dyeing my hair 10 years ago so now I have waist length, natural blonde hair with just one streak of silver at the front which I really like. I used to paint my nails until there was a change in the formula of most nail varnishes and I found my nails were flaking and splitting badly. Haven't painted my nails in over 2 years but keep them short as I am a pianist. My nails don't flake or split now so no doubt it was the nail varnish that was causing this. Toothpaste is another one full of chemicals. I had to go on the site of a well-known toothpaste to find out what was in it. Not a pretty picture and why is saccharin, which the bad effects on health are well documented in it? I had a bit of a gum infection that wouldn't clear up. I made my own toothpaste using coconut oil and bicarbonate of soda (I think my American friends call it Baking Soda) and within a couple of days the gum infection had cleared up and my teeth have never felt so clean. We are indeed targetted by companies out to make a lot of profit at the expense of our health. I will say though that I am in the UK and a lot of chemicals that are allowed elsewhere are banned in my country.
You're the target but you're also gullible and follow what other women do rather than make effort to do research and be single-minded. Men are more independent generally. Women tend to follow the "sisterhood".
A family friend was diagnosed with MS and a brain tumor...She had the brain surgery went on disability...So she sold her nail shop and 12 month later she regained her health!...No sign of MS!...Thank you 🙏🏼
They linked MS to a kissing virus. So it doesn’t go away, it just goes into remission and comes back in flare ups when immune system is stressed like herpes
I don’t wear makeup. I’m happy that I’ve not swayed from this decision despite incredible pressure from my family and friends. This video only serves to strengthen my belief.
same here...and its actually alot harder on brown skin because i have to keep my hyperpigmentation down(otherwise my face looks like patchwork quilt) and constantly worry about sunblock and not stepping into direct sunlight (esp because using a concealer would be so much easier)
You can get natural makeup so that is not a valid argument however that being said women are still beautiful without makeup and even if you don't care about that people have no right to pressure you.
I quit bleaching my hair years ago, no makeup, use salt rock for deodorant, coconut oil for moisturizer and I heat it to deep condition my hair and in just the last year quit using nail products of any kind. Just recently started eating all organic. I'm 63 so I learned all this late in life, but I'm hoping to live healthier and longer now.
Many relaxers and perms also contain the chemical mentioned on #4: thioglycolic acid. It’s so sad that the first time I tried a hair removal cream, that foul smell was oddly familiar to me. That’s because I had been asking my mom to straighten my hair (at all cost) since I was 6 years old. Today I’m almost 30, four years ago I did a “big chop”, cut all my chemically treated hair and started nurturing my natural curl pattern with coconut oil, jojoba oil, vitamin E, etc. Today, my hair is long, healthy and beautiful, and I’m finally at peace and pleased with it. No more chemicals.
My wise mom warned me all about these things over 40 years ago, as she is from France (and they were open about these chemicals being bad for humans) and her brother is a brilliant chemist to boot! I am so grateful she told me (though I work in the beauty industry, I avoid most of these ingredients for myself and clients). Also she told me never to wear tampons (cause ofthe chemicals they used to use to bleach the cotton, etc.,) and also to always wear cotton bras and panties! I never had any of the issues women talk about and am so glad people like her and Dr. Berg warn us. What we do with the info is on us!
As a teen, reading stuff and knowing about Toxic Shock Syndrome. As an adult, only used a few times. But since I been wearing bladder control underwear for my sometimes bladder accident, I use them for my cycles instead of pads.
I remember in the mid '80s in the UK when there was a huge fuss about the chemical additives in foods and animal testing for make up when it isn't necessary and cruel. xo
I'm appalled at some of the chemicals used in the US for beauty products, chemicals which are banned for topical use in the UK and much of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and many others.
@@sarcodonblue2876 Gosh, that surprises me. I always think of Australia as being very clean, organic and stringent. Perhaps that expensive skincare range wasn't such a good buy after all! Oops x
I worked as a Nail Technician for 3 years. My nails looked amazing but it was the worst thing I ever did for my health. My eyes started burning, swelled up like goldfish eyes and I developed contact dermatitis on my eyelids plus eczema on my body PLUS my dogs lost all the hair on their ears from me twirling their ears with my toxic fingertips! It was terrifying! It was a huge ordeal to change careers but I left that field as quick as I could.

Thanks Dr. Berg for making women aware, when I realized that my skin was a portal for everything I put on it to get inside of my organs, namely my liver and kidneys, I quit using these products.
I was literally looking up how toxic nail polish and acetone was the other day and was unable to find any credible information. Thank you Dr Eric! I'll never put either of these things on my body again. 🙏
I used to put on nail polish until one day I discovered my nails cuticle had be coming yellowish..As I did not know until now that those nail remover and nail polish are so toxic and hazard to health..I have stopped using all those four things that Dr Berg said except compact powder...Now I will need to find other alternative for it. .
I am Muslim and pray five time a day, which means I can’t have nail varnish or make up on as I have to wash myself after using the loo and wash my face and feet, therefore, I don’t need to use women’s hygiene products either. I use wax to remove unwanted hair. The only one product I use is the hair highlights which I am thinking to move to use henna instead. Thank you Dr For your dedication and honest eyes opening videos 💐💚
This video is so important for women to watch. We can all benefit by looking at the bigger picture and by taking a higher perspective. It's easy for us to focus on our diets and forget about how the skin is affected by what we do. One additional tip I would suggest is using organic coconut oil as an all over skin moisturizer, a lip balm, a leave in hair conditioner and as a personal lubricant as well. You can put it all over the body including the face. It is liquid when it's on the warmth of our skin...so it doesn't clog pores! I am 53 years old without any wrinkles and people say that I look decades younger. I only use organic, cold pressed coconut oil on my skin and I love it. I will have to reconsider my hair coloring more discreetly. THANK YOU Dr. Berg for speaking out on the truth even if it may not be widely accepted.
Hey sherry 👋… coconut oil is AMAZING for the skin and has MANY wonderful benefits. However, coconut oil is VERY pore clogging, and has a comedogenic score of 4. For those suffering with oily/acne prone skin coconut oil should be used as a rinse away product ONLY to prevent making the breakout worst. It can be used with castor oil as a oil cleanse to remove make up and other impurities, or added to face masks with clays (Bentonite, kaolin, charcoal etc.) but rinsed off later. It’s a great natural alternative to commercial toothpaste and Listerine. Dry/sensitive skin would benefit from coconut oil as a leave on product but those suffering from oily acne prone skin should ONLY USE as a rinse off product. As for the hair it is a great pre-poo, conditioner or leave in oil. Coconut oil is a penetrating oil so it must be followed up or mixed with a sealant oil ie. Castor oil, grapeseed oil etc. to lock in the moisture and retain hydration. Blessings ❤️
I use coconut oil as a hand and skin moisturizer, and it is a great makeup remover (it even doesn't hurt the eyes if you happen to get some in your eye).
I tried using organic, cold pressed coconut oil from a glass jar, was so excited bc I’m always trying to choose the least toxic and most effective option but it unfortunately clogged my pores, gave me cystic acne and irritated my skin. Same with organic, cold pressed olive oil and organic, cold pressed avocado oil. Is there anyone out there who got the same bad reactions to these food grade oils yet finally found something non toxic that works???
@@elainec5333 Just because it's natural doesn't mean it's always good for the skin. For eg Lavender essential oil can cause contact dermatitis in some ppl. And coconut oil shouldn't be used on the face. Maybe look for something with a low comedogenic score. I think jojoba/rosehip oil isn't that bad for the face.
@@elainec5333 If you really want to use an oil I'd suggest Sea Buckthorn, Kukui Nut, Borage or Grapeseed. Definitely make sure you find cold pressed versions. I personally go back and forth between whether to use "all natural" or drugstore skincare because there's so much conflicting information. But my skin was never worse than when I was trying to use straight up soap and coconut oil for everything lol
My grandmother was a hairdresser for close to fifty years. She had breast, uterine & bladder cancer. I’ve often wondered if there could’ve been a connection between the two.
Yikes, after a lifetime of helping her clients look and feel amazing that seems extremely unfair.. The likely answer is Yes though I'm thinking 🤔 Barber here 💈, the absorbing of theses toxins via the Nails, Scalp, Skin or Lungs are all connected. Not to mention in her day these products weren't "All Natural" like companies today are trying for. Talc(um) is still quite prevalent in both Men & Women's powder items. I'm interested in your list! 3 types of Cancer though, goodness!? There's certainly many other health factors that could have contributed to that.. It may have been a combination of both? But knowing a thing or 2 about product ingredients/chemicals and how it was normal and not even concerning by today's standards back then, it's hard not to piece them together. Upsetting to read :( ✂️ ❤️!
Many thanks Dr., I love your channel💯 I am the youngest of six kids, five girls & one poor brother stuck in the middle, lol. We just lost our mother last August 2021, she was 92. Mom always told us girls from the beginning to stay away from all these silly unnecessary feminine washes & wipes etc... she explained how our vagina knows how to take care of herself, lol. She doesn’t need our silly intervention! Basically we were told to stay clean & never use harsh soaps. I used to color my hair almost obsessively in my 20s and 30s, ridiculous! I’m 56 now and I barely use mascara anymore. I have tried a Swedish herb hair coloring shampoo that works great! Plus it’s fun and it only last four weeks, without any harsh chemicals! I instantly tuned in when I saw what this video was about I’m so glad you made this video! I’m shocked by all the chemicals in products we use and I’m amazed that so many people partake. As far as nail polish goes, my father couldn’t stand the smell! If myself or my sisters painted our nails when we were teenagers, dad asked us to go outside and do it it angered him a bit and dad never got angry it took a lot to ruffle his feathers but nail polish really did piss him off, lol! Unfortunately we also lost dad three days before mom in August 2021, he was 90. They were married 71 years❤️ Anyway, many thanks again doctor and God bless us all💯🌈🌦💫💕
I quit make up & hair dye after confirmation of Scleroderma aka CREST. I learned they are triggers for flares for many autoimmune issues. Prayers going up for cousin!🙏🙏🙏🙏 I hope all is well with her. I'm a breast cancer survivor and it's on my mind everyday that it could come back. This stresses me out about all if this. I have changed so much, but even natural products bother me. I just keep praying🙏🙏🙏
As a natural/plant based cosmetic creator myself, I love sharing organic alternatives for our daily self care. One simple idea is using organic arrowroot or tapioca powder as a body powder, dry shampoo, face powder, etc. You can add a little cacao, cinnamon (if your skin's not too sensitive), turmeric, dried beetroot, etc for coloring + a drop or two of chamomile essential oil for scent. Use caution with some eo's (ie lavender, tea tree) as they can trigger hormonal imbalances if used in high concentrations...perhaps another cool topic for another time? Thank you Dr. Berg!! 😊
@@MargaretJEllis I have I don't use nail polish. But I know more companies are becoming more aware of all the toxic chemicals and understanding that the consumers are not for it. They are beginning to make some without chemicals or with a lot less.
No wonder we woman have so many issues with our hormones when we mature, a lifetime of using these products. Thank you Dr. B. You have helped me so very much.
@@junkosdespaircito5093 Well if you do some research you'll see that they do suggest to stop using nail polish if you're trying to conceive. The chemicals in the ingredients are toxic and long term use do effect our hormones. I've heard about it for years. Same with perfume, fragrances in products, etc.

I’ve gotten my nails done & hair colored since age 16 and now I’m 59. No issues this far and I like the way it looks. I do eat healthy, exercise, and stay hydrated though…
I find it weird that the foods and drinks we take in as well as the products we use can be approved regardless of how harmful they can be to our bodies yet once we get sick, we still have to pay 1000 to get treatments. Thank you Dr, you are doing the Lord's work.
True there is no accountability for how we are being poisoned. We have to boycott (not use these products anymore) and either find safer alternatives or stop using them altogether.
I'm so glad you mentioned compact powder! Years ago, I used this face powder and would get these an irritation in my eyes. I didn't know that it was from the powder until I saw a video on the use of talc powder in women's products including face powders and how it was tied to cancer. I stopped using it immediately! There was even a class action lawsuit (actually several lawsuits) filed against Johnson and Johnson for the use of talc powder in their baby products. I also stopped wearing nail polish.
I never really painted my nails, but about a month ago I decided I'd like to give it a go. I put the nail polish on, let it dry, and after about an hour, my nails started to feel a bit strange. I figured it was just me not being used to having paint on my nails, but then when I woke up the next morning, there was this really strange pressure on my nails, and my fingers were hurting! I took the nail polish off, and eventually the pain subsided! Never again!
That happened to me also. When my sister got married she had all us girls get our nails done. We picked the gel polish so the nails would look more elegant. I never ever wear nail polish or do my nails so I noticed immediately how painful it was and that crazy pressure you described. The gel lasted for weeks before it started to peel off. And when I finally was able to get it all off, my nails were weak, brittle and super thin. They ended up being completely damaged and have not grown back normal since. That was December 2019. Then in May/June 2020 I ended up coming down with long covid and had horrible horrible sympathetic dysfunction. I developed POTS like symptoms and started having horrible anxiety every single day that left me feeling dizzy and completely off balance. I was then diagnosed with panic disorder, PMDD, hypokalemia, and vestibular migraine. Basically tons of issues involving my nervous system. And I think a lot of the products we come into contact with everyday break down our bodies slowly and then when we get an illness, our bodies have a harder time fighting it off.
@@candyland8903 Sounds like you have a thiamine b-1 deficiency’. Please look into taking Allithiamine. It helps tremendously with the automatic nervous system.

@@jeanifermcgory8698 it's such a coincidence you should mention that, because last night I actually decided to try out a clear coat (that's the only thing I used to wear and never had any problems with it), but I started feeling that weird pressure yet again! Now I guess we're in the same boat, I have to research some non-toxic ones 😅
I stopped using a lot of these things, simply because I felt like they were unnatural. I do occasionally wear makeup, but this just confirms it... screw the beauty industry.
Me too, i stopped using most makeup years ago. I haven't dyed my hair or used nail polish since my 20's (i'm 42) and have been using natural deodorant and washing powder for that long too.
Very true. Consumers don't have a second thought about the origin of these products. I switched to 'Burt's Bees' and "Pacifica" for my makeup and nail polishes, and could not be happier. However, occasionally, I do wear OPI on my nails. We have to be mindful of what we put on our body, because it is as important as what we eat. Stay healthy everybody and Happy New Year to All! When I was pregnant I try to avoid almost all chemicals, it was so hard to pick products like shampoo, conditioner and lotion that has no unsafe chemical. I wish Dr. Berg you also do an avoidance/recommendation list of safest chemicals or products for basic hygiene for pregnant women. Love your videos 💓 You are the best educator out here. Never seen a doctor explains things to people as clear as you do.
I've been washing my hair with diluted baking soda and doing a 50/50 apple cider vinegar rinse right after. Then you can put a natural oil in it like coconut or Olive oil. All of it totally edible and toxin free.
Now I feel pretty justified in not painting my nails, dyeing my hair, or wearing makeup! I stopped wearing makeup in 2015 and my skin cleared up beautifully. I just focus on skincare with all natural and healthy ingredients instead and of course in eating well and exercising. When I shave I just use my organic shower gel in the shower too.
Same here!! I’m very particular about the ingredients in my body wash and lotion and if I have to use makeup on occasions, only vegan products. But I only wear makeup for job interviews or wedding receptions… very rare.
Didn't worked for me :( It was the reason why I stopped using makeup. Now I just don't care anymore. But I wish my skin wouldn't look like a teen in their puberty.
@@sarahsa7687 you can use pure mineral makeup, like Lily Lolo (it's a UK brand). Foundations, blushes and eyeshadows are all in a form of powder, no talc, no synthetic ingredients like sillicones. It's very easy to remove, you don't need double cleanse to get rid of it. Such makeup can even help to calm down inflamed skin - at least it did for me. Besides look into your diet and hormones, skin problems are always warning signs that our body is not working well.
Acetone nail polishers is the bomb here. My wife switched from one manicurist to another, both of them have fertility problems. My wife's girlfriend also shared that her manicurist has fertility problems. This is as red flag as it can get.

@Lil Gus Sharon that comment by someone else was unnecessary, I agree, but it actually made me laugh 😁. At least all these so-called defects of my character have upsides - being lazy in this case might have saved my health.

I think a lot of women felt comfortable transitioning to a more natural way of living during the pandemic! I don’t use any conventional products anymore and I stopped shaving too. I have always had very sensitive skin and shaving has always caused a ton of irritation and issues. Letting go and not shaving during the pandemic allowed my skin to heal and I finally experienced a life without irritation on my skin. My husband legit told me the shaving I always did was because of societal norms and that I didn’t need to shave on his account. He prefers me to be healthy and happy over having a hairless body like a child.
Watching your videos. I thank God that my mom was a very simple woman. I didn’t appreciate it when I was younger but now that I’m older, I see why. She didn’t like the chemicals and felt natural was best. My mom never had cancer I think it’s been a decade that plant based products are more accessible now and affordable. I use to go to the health food store to buy plant based products. My mom literally drilled me in the brain to always read the ingredients in products.
My deceased granny was also "all natural" (considering, that my mother's family lived in Soviet Union) but she worked at the shoes factory and later was forced to leave it cause she received the cancer, she has burned very quickly and passed away at her deathbed, before I was born. Her other 3 sisters also died from cancer. Glad I didn't receive cancer from my ancestors but it doesn't stop the fact that we're not 100% safe in everything.
I had to stopped coloring my hair because the hair dye started burning my scalp. I tried different brands and still had the same problem. I finally stopped coloring it and let my hair go gray and I must say I love it it's more salt and pepper. My hair is softer and it stopped falling out. I'm 58 yrs old and I get more complements now.
I’m 59 and about 7 years ago I developed an allergic reaction to hair dye. Paraphenylenediamine (PPD) is the chemical that’s in the hair color. At first I didn’t know what was happening to me until it affected my throat and I could not breathe. So then I switched to Henna…turn my hair green. Then I heard about Madison Reed. It’s free of PPD, ammonia, parabens, resorcinol, phthalates and gluten. It was like finding the fountain of youth for my hair. I love it. Happy to hear that going gray for you was good for your hair. Maybe in another 6 years I will do the same.
This made me take off my nail polish immediately, I already knew the risks but now I take the action accordingly to my knowledge. Thanks for the reminder
Thank you Dr. Berg. You just reminded me to lower my toxic load. Bleached hair may look pretty, as do painted nails, but a recent diagnoisis of Endometrial Cancer makes it an even good idea to quit using these products cold turkey. After all, seeing my little grand-daughter grow up has become an even more urgent priority!
I had the same cancer in September last year. I never even heard of it before! Now I found it is a very common one but not talked about as much as others. Good luck!
I have one to add: bras. Ill-fitting bras and restrictive clothing around the chest has been shown as a factor in developing breast cancer, especially inflammatory breast cancer. I know it is anecdotal, but my mother wore ill-fitting bras even as they wore out (she had very large breasts and found it hard to find bras that fit) and died of stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer. She also did use talc powder, so I'm glad you mentioned that. She had cystic fibroids, but they were caught early. And she switched to cornstarch powder.
@@poinsettia12 it's not that odd, i am not from us im from balkans, cornstarch powder is used as thickener in food found in any supermarket. bamboo powder on the other hand is impossible to find universally!
I'm a nurse and I never polish my fingernails or wear those make up, always wear my fingernails short for a simple personal hygiene reason. There's simply no need to cover up the natural beauty!
Years ago I started questioning all these chemicals when my first baby was born. I’ve always been skeptical of all these women’s products being pushed on us. I don’t use any makeup, fancy face “routines” kits, fragrances, hair dyes, etc. KISS, keep it simple stupid, that’s my motto with anything now. Haha
Good for you! I wonder how the FDA etc. get away with allowing these poisons in food, drugs, so called beauty products etc., Not only is it toxic, it's criminal!
I’m so glad you posted this. I’ve been getting the Madison Reed dyes to cover my grays. Supposedly they don’t contain any of the nasty chemicals most dyes do, but now I’m curious to go over their ingredients list to really make sure I should continue using it or not. Also, I found a great nail polish company called Static Nails and let me tell you, they have definitely been a game changer because my nails no longer turn yellow, they even last longer than traditional polish and they even sell a non-toxic nail polish remover. It does take longer to remove the color, but since it’s non toxic I don’t care… it is worth it to me. I will get rid of the acetone I have and not put that near my body again. I’be been trying to get cleaner makeup and skincare. No wonder we’re invaded by cancer. It’s all around us and it’s not just in food, it’s in EVERYTHING that surrounds us! This needs to stop or this will be the end of the human race. We need to do better!!! Wish the entire world would come together on this and would decide together to make drastic changes. We owe it to ourselves.
There is a hair dye that's not a dye. It's just leaves. You mix with water and that's it. Makes hair nicer after dying. Not worse. Covers grey. It's made for caucasian hair. Because dye doesn't cover caucasian hair and it just washes out in a week or so. This doesn't.
I just sent this to my 4 daughters, thank fully they are generally nature girls who don't really wear a lot, but it is important to know the risks. I appreciate this content! People are horrified to hear that women's cosmetics used to have arsenic or lead which was so dangerous - but then they don't even blink at putting hair color, mascara, or lipsticks on. Those products have toxic chemicals in them today!
I use banana oil to remove nail polish - it is a solvent mostly used to mollify nail polish that has gone hard in the bottle but, with a little bit more effort, rubbing it with a piece of cotton, it works for removing polish from the nails.
The sad thing is I learnt this in my environmental health class. Society is so messed up that when you're not done up or using these products men call you basic.
Who cares? Seriously. Natural is true, and beautiful. Any man who cares about what you said is not worthy of your time and is shallow, that’s not who you want, right?…
One thing any Gynecolgist will tell a woman is that the vagina is “self cleaning” - vaginal washes are not necessary. If anything, something like Cetaphil can be used if you feel you absolutely need it.. So many women are suffering from issues related to the vulva and getting help /education would benefit many. Thank you for this video Dr. Berg 🤗
I'm 56 now so about 30 years ago I had a gynecological appointment but I used a Summer's Eve vaginal douche before I went to the appointment after my exam older woman Dr about 60 ask me why did I use a douche before my exam I told her the reason she told me she had been married for 42 years and never used a douche and her husband never complained about any odor and informed me that the vagina is self cleansing and there was no need to insert any chemicals... I never used one since and no one ever complained about any odor down there😃😃
@@kerenkares4473 How interesting and the doctor really did give you great advice. It really is about education in this area of a woman's body. It wasn't until I started having an issue that was misdiagnosed for 2 years - finally I saw a Gyni who sorted things out and filled me in on not using anything in that region. Most people refuse to believe this until they try it - trust me, I was skeptical. I feel for many women this is still a taboo subject and it shouldn't be. 🦋🦋
When i was 12 or 13 I asked my dad, a chemical engineer, if fingernail polish is poisonous and he said no BUT the remover has toluene which is extremely toxic. The glue used in fake fingernails is the worst. I know a woman who, after use, was asleep that night and dreamed she was diving off into the swimming pool. She actually dove off her bed and broke her neck. She didnt die but i think she wished she had. I stay away from that stuff. Even walking past a nail salon is toxic. I have never had a job where the women had to wear polish. Would have had to quit. It seems to me a good place to pick up a case of hepatitis is a nail salon!
I have dedicated some time to research the products I was using and was I shocked! Threw away in the garbage all my expensive perfumes, cremes, make up and nail products. I have managed to find some good products, colour my hair with 100% henna and use only clean oils for skincare.
I’m french, so I used all our luxurious cosmetics for years, all the famous and expensive french brands…. It did not do any good! Years ago, I got extremely sick. So I changed my diet entirely and spent the necessary time researching….I learned to use raw foods, edible weeds, and started to make my own cosmetics & house cleaners. I now use organic oil for my skin, with a few drops of essential oils. It costs less than 10$, lasts forever, and I have a better looking skin at 50 than 20!!! I stay away from all the food & cosmetic lobbies…..they are killing us with their poison!
Thank you so much for this video. There is immense societal pressure on women to be "perfect" and desirable - most women use most or all of these kinds of products, not thinking or realizing that these industries are going to kill them or at least make them very ill. It is so wonderful that people like you are trying to protect and educate all of the women consumers out there. And I must say that I also like your beard!
Is there a blonde hena or just dark colors? I live in Europe and didn’t see hena at all for a long time. My grandma used to wear the dark red color many years before. She said it was coming from Turkey sellers.
Thank you for informing women of these beauty health risks. I’ve always believed in natural, simple living. It is difficult since society pushes that men love blond hair, red nails and lots of makeup. It’s sad…
Question: Where was this video 20 or 30 years ago? Yikes... my poor body! I don't understand how these products are allowed to be promoted and used by the public!!! Why aren't they outlawed??? (Thank you Dr. Berg for this information)
Try to study biochemistry a bit where these kinda issues can be understood better. I am graduate of the subject and know these facts since my late teens 15 years back
Because the FDA does not regulate the ingredients in these products. Our cosmetics act (from 1938) regulates the advertising of the products mostly to make sure that they don’t claim to do something they can’t (like false advertising). The US has banned under 15 known harmful ingredients to date whereas the EU has banned thousands!!! No testing is done on new products to make sure that they won’t harm you, especially in combination with the other things you’re using. You have to be your own advocate at this point ♥️
After this video, my life has changed drastically. I am since buying only talc free make-up, no acrylic nails (gel nails are far less harmless) and informing other people. Thank you!!!!!
I broke out into rashes, and almost like boils on my skin. Then I realized, every time I put on new underwear that I bought, that's when my skin problems started up. Now, it was a major manufacturer of women's undergarments, and I wore that brand for years and years. I looked it up and found out there were dozens of lawsuits against the company, for that reason, women had skin issues. It turned out that the underwear was now made in a 3rd world country and they would spray the garments with Formaldehyde to keep them from molding in the warehouse. The same thing was happening with flight attendant uniforms, they were getting all kinds of skin issues, so that's what's happening to our clothing. Kind of pathetic. They even say those ''no iron" bed sheets are covered in chemicals. Why are all these toxic items on the market in the first place?
My daughter and I were just discussing this. So many clothing items are made elsewhere to be sold cheaper here, or at a profit in many many businesses now. Thank you for your comment on this.

Every young person needs this life saving information before it’s too late, the older one gets the more hormonal imbalances they have to deal with on a daily basis. I wish I had this information 30 years ago. Thanks to Dr. Berg he may save a lot of unnecessary future pain and suffering.
Thank-You for this helpful information 'Dr. Berg.' My mother a former computer operator/office worker was always @ the Beauty Salon every two weeks. Mom always had her hair lightened. She died 5 years after retirement. Mom worked for 'GM' and everyday when she left work she had a black film on her vehicle. And many years after she passed I was talking to this woman @ a 'Women's Expo.' She shared most of the people she worked with in the same factory had passed of some form of cancer. She cried her eyes out! And although my mom worked primarily in the office there were times she went into the factory. Also they painted vehicles within the factory. My point Dr. Berg you had referred to "paint." I try to tell women about the dangers of certain types of make up and hair dye. They simply laugh and think it's funny. The thing that concerns me is women dye their hair all too often @ a young age.
@Ursula that’s my point? It’s so hypocritical. Use corporate products all day everyday no problem, eat sugar , glysophate no problem. Yet they are protecting us from Covid. Don’t go out side, don’t see your loved ones. Stay inside your off gassing homes , eat crap food prepared by the corporations, groom yourself with toxic poopoo, clean with toxic poopoo. It really makes no sense. 😭
@@ursulamullikin4723 - I met a male realtor years ago who mentioned @ length his doctor's determined his "black hair dye" most likely caused his "stomach cancer." Research on dangers of hair color, dyes in frosting mix like light blue and red coloring have been spoken of for years. Red dye in make up products like lipstick and such.
A lot of hairdressers won't dye hair when a woman is pregnant, that alone speaks volumes, all those toxins travelling through the blood stream towards baby.
Thank you Dr. Berg, this is so important to us women to hear. I once saw a documentary on how Mica is extracted or mined by tiny girls who do this to bring money to the family and it horrified me that it's the beauty industry in this country who allows this. To this day I don't buy anything containing Mica.
Even if the factories are closed, little girls will win nothing from that cause they will have no jobs in their provinces and their mothers will beat them up for losing opportunity to feed the family. Life is cruel.
How are you making this post if you do not buy anything containing mica? Micas are used in products such as drywalls, paints, fillers, especially in parts for automobiles, roofing and shingles, as well as in electronics. Including your mobile phone. Technical grade sheet mica is used in electrical components, electronics, in atomic force microscopy and as window sheets.
Everybody thought I was crazy and paranoid when I began avoiding as many chemicals as I could in 1964 at age 11. I go out to my herb garden and snip of herbs to rub all over my body and my dogs too as a perfume alternative . Rosemary is great. My double coated dog smells heavenly.
Ahhh, so you just rub it all over? I've been thinking of switching out from perfumes to natural herbs but I didn't know how to use them as a perfume alternative
Hi Dr.Berg , I was just talking to my neighbor about all the chemicals in beauty products, we we saying how we think a lot of these products could cause cancer, pretty scary 😧. Thanks for the info!!
When I was a teenager, I tried a very well known hair remover. Once and once only. After removing I had a nasty rash/ chemical burn all over my legs. It was awful. Never made that mistake again.
I am in the UK and about 6 years ago started to look for more natural products. I found a hair colour called 'It's Pure', which only contains herbal powders. I think it was developed by oncologists. I only use nail varnish occasionally and when I do I use Zoya, which are toluene free. I started this research when I was diagnosed with RA. I follow an autoimmune protocol diet and try not to put things into my body, including things that could be absorbed through the skin, that could harm it whilst also providing it with things that help it to heal. We live in an increasingly toxic world so we need to do what we can. Thank you Dr Berg for the education you provide.
A day in the life of or a grwm from Karen would be awesome video ideas!! From teeth brushing to skin care to hair care, housework, laundry, meal prep, exercise, getting ready for bed...I think it would be really interesting to see exactly what you guys do in a day. What products you use and your routine. Just an idea.
I think about this all the time, I really wish she would make in depth videos of what they use and how they use all these different alternatives exactly what you said LOL
Dr. Berg, you are a goldmine of the most useful information. I am new here and am totally blown away by how clearly and quickly you inform us. So happy and grateful you're here. Big hug to you!
Thank you, Dr. Berg. We know this as women but we do this because we want to be accepted by society. Thank you for sounding the alarm and being an advocate for women's health through a holistic way of beauty.
I don't believe that women do and wear all those just to be accepted by the society. Who is the society? You and e, friends, families, colleagues et cetra.. I rarely wear makeup, though wish I can find healthier ones and way to wear them easily... I wear it for me totally... I have Vitiligo which gave me white brows and lashes (the only part of my Vitiligo I am indifferent about), eye pencil and mascara helps me cover it atimes, yet I don't wear them often because it is about me, how I feel and how I want to be. Please don't generalise, another's validation is the last thing I bother about it even imagine... Sorry for the long epistle😊
I can't speak for all women, but sometime I put on makeup just because I want to feel good and pretty for me, even if I'm at home. Not too concern about others as long as I can accept me and happy being me as a woman.
I wear makeup to match my clothes because that also makes the outfit.🫣 And especially with Indian style clothing, makeup just makes the whole look so much nicer!
You’re an absolute star, Dr Berg. Some of these things, I’d never even think of while being someone who’s usually aware of what she’s using. Thank you so much, lots of love
@Melanie Hale Try using apple cider vinegar in rinse water. Also, check out the benefits of no or low shampooing. There is a Facebook group on that. Hey, Dr. Berg should have covered the problems with conventional hair care products. I've found there are a lot of natural DIY hair masks that make a big difference in hair. I use hair masks that I mix up myself usually at least once a week before a wash.
Just when I made the decision last night to go back to "my first love": homemade, or natural alternatives to ALL the products I use for myself, my children, and our whole family as well as ALL our household cleaning products. THANKS FOR THIS REMINDER & EDUCATIONAL VIDEO
I've been avoiding this stuff for years, partly due to allergies and partly due to intuitively knowing it was toxic due to that. I use rosehip oil for moisturiser. Don't wear much makeup now. Stopped dying my hair 15 yrs, ago. Use natural washing detergent, soap, shower gel etc Use natural deodorant without aluminium. I have rarely used nail polish in my life as I've always known it is highly toxic from the smell. I feel the odd one out though as meanwhile here in Ireland/UK, women are plastering themselves in makeup and fake tan and getting botox and fillers. Everyone seems to use heavily perfumed washing detergent and have their houses full of toxic air fresheners etc, I despair.
Exactly you don’t wear it but you’re around a whole host of people who do it’s like not smoking, but everybody else smokes or you die from second hand smoke because you work or live in a building where people smoke and you have to use the elevator.
My Aunt Pearl owned a beauty shop for almost fifty years! She’s in her eighties now! I’ve often wondered how she tolerated it! 😱 She’s superwoman! And my Dad worked in a chemical manufacturing plant for about fifty years too! He’s in his eighties as well! They’re siblings and I pray I have taken more after them! I avoid all these toxins so I should live to be at least 150! 😂🤷🏼♀️
you are a stranger, but if i can give your or your dad an advice: look for a functional medicine doc and do a mold/heavy metal test and change the diet protocol accordingly.
It's really mostly about genetics, diet, and being sedentary. Chemicals are just accumulated over time. Everything is pretty much a chemical though. While I agree that people are being a little excessive with these extra beauty products, it's not as serious as people are painting it out to be. If this was true, millions of people would drop dead before they could even reach their 50s. I think free radicals and excessive amounts of sugar and carbs, are the leading cause of most health issues.
I stopped wearing makeup at age 25 when my husband told me my 'natural' beauty was far more attractive than 'clown' makeup. I was a model at the time for a well known department store so makeup was a big part of my life. Fake nails too and hair products. When I got too old at age 27 I never wore makeup again. I stopped at 25 on my personal day to day, but at 27 I stopped even on special occasions. I have never looked back, don't mss it and found out my own nails grow and are strong and look lovely without any help from polishes and fake nails. My 'glamorous' friend always makes fun of me saying "I'm cheap" and am a cheap self care, lol but I am so happy with how I look all natural.
Been wanting to go natural as possible so when i started my new job only wore some concealer or no make up at all. I felt weird at first but after a week or two i felt grossed out by lipstick tbh

Thank you for this lifesaving information, after my friend was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer the past couple of years I have been looking for organic pure products to use in my daily care routine soaps, makeup, shampoo etc. I have been using USDA organic henna and USDA organic indigo mixture to dye my hair. It is scary that these harmful chemicals are on the market and so many people are not aware thank you Dr. for this information 🙏
As a male, I absolutely HATED the smell of nail polish when anyone would use it at home growing up. I have to get as far away as possible from the smell! I also can't stand the plug-in air fresheners, I would like to hear what cancer and body harm those do too Dr. Berg 😅
I'm super allergic to anything scented. Those plugins are toxic af. Room sprays, perfumes, body lotions, etc, all toxic. I'd like to see a video from Dr. Berg regarding these products as well.
Colored my hair for many years. Stopped with this since corona and now I no longer suffer from hair loss. Also suspect that there are products that can be harmful with frequent/long use.
Thank you Dr. Berg! I would like to add to this, perhaps you could do a video on this as well? Feminine products (tampons and pads) that are synthetic vs 100% organic cotton. My bloating, cramps, abdominal discomfort, and flow greatly diminished when I switched. It’s a game changer!
In high school, our biology teacher liked to pick up our lip gloss or other makeup and read the ingredient list and tell us how bad the ingredients were. This was in the late 1970s. There is an ap now to help, called Think Dirty. But it doesn’t know every product. It hates all fragrances.
Yep… I’ve not used any of these for years, some never. Intuitively I knew not to. I don’t use anything under my arms. I use Castille soap on my hair/ body. Organic coconut oil and organic Shea butter on my hair and skin, nothing else. Thx Dr Berg
I've stopped wearing makeup and shaving and stuff but I didn't think about how bad nail polish could be! It's obvious but it goes to show the little things that add up! That and I love my hair dye...I'll have to give the ingredients a look over.
I truly believe all that helped greatly and was reason I am in remission
glad to know remission🐱👍🏿

Did you know that there are hairdressers who only cut hair, even hairdressers who only do color, such as the Vidal Sasoon Salon.
But most hairdressers like to do everything though, but still, it's your choice.

I'm very sorry about your mother...at such a young age. 💔
My mother died in her 80s, then my only sibling at 58 (cancer, lifelong smoker).

Would you post substitutes for these items? Thankyou

I am in that mood right now …
Glad you did the right thing
Now that you said that I realize that hair removal cream does remind me of perm.

The likely answer is Yes though I'm thinking 🤔
Barber here 💈, the absorbing of theses toxins via the Nails, Scalp, Skin or Lungs are all connected. Not to mention in her day these products weren't "All Natural" like companies today are trying for. Talc(um) is still quite prevalent in both Men & Women's powder items. I'm interested in your list!

There's certainly many other health factors that could have contributed to that..
It may have been a combination of both?
But knowing a thing or 2 about product ingredients/chemicals and how it was normal and not even concerning by today's standards back then, it's hard not to piece them together.

I have one to add: bras. Ill-fitting bras and restrictive clothing around the chest has been shown as a factor in developing breast cancer, especially inflammatory breast cancer. Right! Long, painted nails are pretty, but inconvenient and unhygienic.
I use Suzanne Somers products with no chemicals because everything you use is absorbed through your skin, garenteed to be organic!🥰🥰🥰
😫😄😄😄For a moment I thought KISS was a safe brand you were recommending🙈🤦🏾♀️😄.
You mean henna?
By the way, I've recently started using The Henna Guys henna and it's worked really well for covering my grays. You can easily find it on amazon.

Where can I find "banana oil"?

One thing any Gynecolgist will tell a woman is that the vagina is “self cleaning” - vaginal washes are not necessary.

Thank-You for this helpful information 'Dr. Berg.' My mother a former computer operator/office worker was always @ the Beauty Salon every two weeks. Mom always had her hair lightened. She died 5 years after retirement. Mom worked for 'GM' and everyday when she left work she had a black film on her vehicle. And many years after she passed I was talking to this woman @ a 'Women's Expo.' She shared most of the people she worked with in the same factory had passed of some form of cancer.
This is why I don't like to wear makeup. Beauty is on the inside, not on the outside. Thanks for this.
