We like to make interesting car mods and show you how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. Like what? Marty has always been the hands on mechanic one. He did everything up until they started having Turbo Yoda do all of the more in depth stuff for the first super gramps. And then Mechanical Stig started appearing, add in a little bit of tuning fork being the one stop shop for all your tuning needs and it did kind of put Marty and Moog on the back burner as the ones who didn't know what they were doing. In all fairness compared to those guys who's careers are THIS, Marty and Moog really didn't know what they were doing standing next to them. Marty has always been an obviously capable wrencher though. After all of these years learning and being around the guys who are geniuses when it comes to this stuff, he's bound to pick up on a thing or two. I'll bet Marty could do just about anything he wanted with a car by now.

@@danielnelson4881 We haven't seen Marty weld much in the past for example, but in this series he takes on things like TIG welding an exhaust without giving it second thought. Same as dropping the engine. He referred to it more as a nuisance than something intimidating.
Another example is the wiring. Normally that's something someone else does (or at least that's how it's presented), but in this case he talks about having to do it very confidently.
I'm not saying he was a bad mechanic before, but on the bigger projects in the past, they usually brought someone like Turbo Yoda or Mechanical Stig on. Whereas in this series, he tackles it all himself and with confidence and working towards a deadline.
Obviously the fact that he has a garage with a lift was a giveaway that he knows more than he lets on the show and it wasn't an attack on him or the show in any way. Just something I noticed.

I mean, really, he's not gonna lose. He's got, like, triple the horsepower, better weight distribution...a windshield...but, aside from that, I feel the same way. If I have one complaint about this show, it's that they do often treat the cars they're working with as...well, disposable, in a way. Sure, there're exceptions, like 2Sexy and the Mini, but they're generally not bothered selling off, trading away, or even _destroying_ the cars they spend so much time working on and building up; the cars we, the audience, grow attached to. It's...well, it's painful, in a way that few people outside the automotive enthusiasts' community would really understand.
