The guy selling the mr2,It's richard hammonds younger brother lol.
I love how that car makes Alex look tall
2:07- this guy wears sunglass, shoes and wristband inside of his home
Everyone else is laughing at these guys buying the cheapest cars around and i'm just sitting here watching these as genuine car buying advice.
"This is going to be a track car"
Um I guess not
Toyota should make a new gen of these, they already have the daihatsu copen thing, just make it Mid engine rwd and maybe a corolla engine and it'll be a nice car
in my part of the world :
Salvage title MR2 for sale
light damage
$4500 obo
no low balls
i know what i got
I watch American stuff a lot. They buy a 1978 f150 from a paddock for 100 bucks, take it home and fit a battery, it runs.
In Australia, 90% rusted away 1978 f100 no motor or box, driver's door missing 5k.
Makes me sad.
and "light damage" means it was rolled and the engine is out
In Australia that would be about right.
Algerian here, saw a subaru XT (exciting, right?) With a one-size-fits-all wing and a bloody Renault express engine sticking THROUGH the hood, all that beauty for about $30k
Same, same. €8k when good, €5k when rotten
Really like these cheap, fixing and modifying vids
He held out his hand 😂😂😂
Edit: He got em on the second one, what a geezer.
So pleased that Jack has still got the high mileage Audi A4!
the amount of bad jokes and cringe in this video is unbelievable, i love it :))
Hello carthrottle.really hurry to see this trackday project.i have the same in yellow... And i put it on track.in Belgium.good luck with your mr2 spyder!! Really fantastic car!
I don’t go much on the number plate “tip”. I have had to change plates for the mot because of degradation, nothing to do with crashes.
We don't have dealer names on the plates here in the US, but I've been through the same thing- the plates were at least 16yrs old and quite faded. Luckily fairly cheap and I was able to keep the same plate number. And they look much better 😃
Yeah, but you normally replace both at the same time when you do it.
9:07 Aussie Car Guy : "you have no idea, you're gonna get owned mate!"
This is so weird. An absolutely clapped Mr2 is like 3 grand in California. Why are cars so cheap there?
same....
insurance is very expensive, especially for new drivers
Also mot in britain will never let a car pass with that rear wheel alignment...
also because of the yearly inspections (mot) it is sometimes better to sell a car for cheap instead of repairing it
Insurance in the UK is fucking ridiculous. Im 17 and tried to insure my 1.2litre vauxhall (opel) corsa c. Its a 2004 reg (worth £50 according to webuyanycar.com) and it cost £2300 to insure for the year
While I'm obviously jealous of your incredible purchase, I'm also happy the car was bought by a proper enthusiast instead of being scrapped, or riced, or goodness knows what other horrible death.
You guys are almost like the robin hood of cars, Stealing from the undeserving and giving to the enthusiastic. Keep up the heroism
"You can learn to heel and toe if you buy a car like this"
I'd like to point out that I learnt to heel and toe driving a 1991 diesel starlet.
They go for a lot more than $2000 in the us. I paid $3400 for mine and that was about half what they were going for. 5 years later and I don’t have any plans on selling it ever unless I have completely no choice. The insurance is just so cheap and it’s too much fun!

I used to have one years ago, great fun! Making me want another as a play thing! Always said to people who used to make snide comments that they'd obviously never driven one, handles like maradonna!
"Easy to work on"
Oh boy, he has some rough times coming. :D

Great comment
Well you're not wrong
Saw you filming this on my way home work. Lovely car for that money, keep up the good videos lads 👍🏻😎
"It's probably going to be really easy to work on."
Hahahahahahahaha
Laughing about mikes gestures totally mades my day
Im actually putting a 500 Abarth engine in one of these.
Alex and his 'Old out yer and' Never fails to stop me PMSL! 😂
Why does he wear 2 watches?
It's an apple watch an a regular watch
Never trust a man with 2 watches
Easy. He’s a knobhead
A smartwatch and a normal one.
@@rafox66 what's the point in that
When I worked at different body repair shops over the years some of them used to change both number plates so it had the name of the garage on them. So you can't always trust the plate. I've just had to replace the front plate on my car but only because it fell off and that has the name of that garage.
Anyone got anycars they wanna give away for 50 pound let me know 😂
Man, can't low-ball that low!
I got 60 big ones, cold hard cash today !
Hol' at yar een' !
14sGP De
I got a Vauxhall corsa but I suppose I’d have to pay u £50 to take it from me haha!
@@callumhardy5098 how bad can it be for that ? XD
@@callumhardy5098 dont underestimate old opels/vauxhalls, they might be slow but the fuel consumtion, reliability and maintenance ease and cost are VERY good. My gfs astra f caravan has more trunk space than a bmw 5 series in a small car has a flat loading space when the seats are folded, uses 7L/100km when doing 150kmph and has been reliable even with no oil change for 50.000+km (I felt bad and did one).
Only downsides other than being slow are shitty headlights and no ac in our one.
And you can blink out the codes with a paperclip should the ecu throw one.
Laurean 599
Yep no ac.
It would have been a really nice thing to give the chap 150 for it since he had already been offered 145 for scrap. I get that it's nice knowing that it will be used again rather than scrapped but for the sake of an extra 50 it would have made him a lot happier and tbh 50 quid extra is fairly negligible for a car like this.
