I launched my first rocket a week ago, and I'm pretty sure setting up advanced oil processing took me more than 80 minutes in the 24-hour run for the rocket. This guy is insane.
Seeing you perfectly place those inserters is mindblowing. I realize its probably one of the simpler things to practice, but given its something we all do, it really puts in perspective the absurd level of mouse control you have.
the trick is clicking your mouse button normally, but a certain amount of time ahead of where you want them to be placed, they'll be placed perfectly every time if you're focusing. It's worth the practice.
first time playing factorio, haven't even gotten to purple science in 30 hours. This shit is the equivalent of building a motherboard from scratch with your bare hands in a little over an hour. Absolutely insane, I loved every second of this.
I saw that and was like 'huh, never thought to do that, that's clever!' Going to try applying that for the warptorio run my friend and I just started for quicker packup in emergencies. ^.^

I only just started playing last week so I don't understand enough to appreciate everything but the speed and accuracy of your execution is amazing to watch. I was expecting a bare minimum base to be built to just barely produce enough parts for a single rocket launch in a speed run but instead I see what feels like a mega base getting constructed. I guess the lab research time is enough of a bottleneck to let you style with a mega base? Really awesome stuff.

Holy crap the precision clicking is impressive. A few of the times you complained about something you had done, confused the hell out of me, looked fine to me but then I'm not very experienced at Factorio, least of all speed running it. Nice run!ig
Any single misplacement means I have to go back and pick up stuff, and even losing just 5 seconds can be quite painful, and I am quite critical on myself and set high standards for being happy with how I've done, I find it drives improvement very well I think!

10 years ago people were wondering if sub-24 hours was possible, then sub 12 hours, last I checked the world record was around 4 hours This video is a testament to your ability to focus and do things in perfect succession meanwhile beating a game that usually takes the average player about 40 hours to end. thats crazy to do that without the use of bps initially and just going off of what your known builds are and plan is... crazy... swear, i handbuild a lot in my latest build which i just started the game up again from .17 and thats just getting back into it, but my god, there was a lot going on there. saw some new quick tech to do things that i had not seen before so thats cool. well done.

I recently got my no spoon achievement in about 6 hours, based on nerfrums speedrun guide. Instantly recongnized the seed you're playing :) Very interesting to see the little variations right from the start! I could possibly push my time down to 4 hours if I tried hard enough, but 1:18:56 is absolute madness! Just how often did you practice this run to hit such perfection? Super impressive!
What impresses me most I think is your absolute control when placing stuff down. Like placing inserters with gaps in a line? It looks as though you're just dragging them straight down, no pause. Holy shit.

What's so crazy for me about speedruns like this: The amount of stuff they are creating just to be actually faster ... I mean, thinking back to my very first two runs I finished the game with no more than 6 assemblers producing red circuits for example. But in these speedruns they copy&paste entire sections casually that exceed my total production ... and it's NOT for an endgame megabase, it's just to launch a rocket as fast as possible! And I wonder how much this applies to the real world as well. For example how much extra resources do we waste just to get that amazon delivery within 2 days instead of 5 which would be more reasonable.
@@Puschit1 yeah the builds in any% are incredibly wastefully large for the sake of speed. The RCU build for example is 102 assemblers (that's massive) that run for like 10 minutes only!

Before the update drops... I need to try this build. I'm running the old old old one. I was just goofing around the other day and set a 3 minute pb at 2:51. That was despite what would normally be quit the run errors: failing to run 12 refineries for a few minutes, oopsie 3 stacks of steel furnaces. I think never giving bots belts until later than normal pushed me over the top despite my misplay. I guess maybe I'm out of time before next update. Maybe I'll try to pull a save file down. I'm slow at placement. So I'm not materials limited. So the tighter early factory would have to help me out.

Larger base finishes crafting all the science and rocket parts in fewer minutes so it makes sense for a speedrun

I think I'm done with this category for now. But I think with fairly minimal changes, I could go almost 1 minute faster on a perfect run
