I'm working on adjusting the resource balance in the design, and waiting on some bug fixes since a lot of stuff had issues in the 1.1 to 2.0 transition, but there will be another attempt. Gotta get this to sub 12 hours :) -So I got sick in-between making this video and the release - however, I AM still planning to premiere the new base October 19th, 10 am CDT on twitch! You can see it in your local time in my channel schedule there. We'll go as far as we can (if the base is good enough, maybe we can even finish!), but I might have to run it segmented like this run was. I will revisit it with a full run in the upcoming weeks once I'm feeling better, though!- Aside from allowing blueprints, the rules are the same as this run. No mods, no electric inserters, no electric drills, no electric miners, and no solar panels or logistic bots outside of achievements. its still a suggestion that frequently comes up because the burner phase is way too short if they could just make you start with the basic items for electricity and remove all burner variants.
Watching all the stuff about safe burner inserters makes me more excited for 2.0 since that improved ability to grab stuff from belts makes challenges like these very different
Yeah, in my last run of 1.1 I ran into the bot issues of them not crossing a lake correctly and not charging or building efficiently. 2.0 cannot come soon enough.
It'll be so nice being able to place inserters on corners and splitters! I think they'll still need dedicated fueling in some places, but it gets a lot easier at least
Yeah they're still burner inserters so they're still slow and bad and need fuel, especially when outputting from things. But at least they stop reaching for things they can never grab until they exhaust their fuel. Makes splitters, corners, and upgraded belts work so much better with them. For me I like burners inserting coal into my boilers to prevent brownouts, but it was really annoying how upgraded belts would cause the burners to die out if the belt wasnt fully saturated.

i think some of the fun you got from this burner madness is probably what makes mods with complex production chains (angels, bobs, pyanodon, etc) so rewarding... you're forced into coming up with belt voodoo to solve real problems which is crazy fun

you can use logistic bots and still get the achivement. Its not about USING bots, its about placing certain logistic chests. but you can still use passive providers/storage to get items delivered.
Fewer is right. Anything you can count with integers should be fewer, and anything you can measure with a continuous unit is less. Fewer crafts, less crafting.
Hey hey, really love the video! I don't think your titles are that bad, I think they perform well at being descriptive and intriguing. I never expected something wrong from your titles and then got disappointed. Another thing I want to mention, I like the editing style you got, however as a non-native I have troubles keeping up with the blast of information you're throwing at me. At several points I had to listen to your explanation, read an on-screen comment which popped up for literally 1 second and understand the design you are just introducing. It's moving a bit to quickly for me, maybe reducing it a bit, more time to read the comments or reduce the amount of simultaneous information. At some point skipping back and rewatching the part I didnt get for the third time got too tedious so I had to ignore the things I didn't understand first time (mostly 1s texts), which is really sad because the humor you put into the subtitles was nice for the ones I replayed. Hope my feedback helps you. Keep it up!

Incredible run man. Really showing the difference between us. 😅 I can't even send up a rocket within 8 hours, to be fair I never tried while having a plan. But you managed it with a fish and only using burners. Looking forward to the modded run. It is so terrible when everything takes steam to run.
I am pretty sure I achieved deliver 10,000 items by logistics robot before beating the game, and still got logistic network embargo. The way I did it was by resupplying the character by logistics robot 10,000 times. I think I did a lot of handcrafting that run though.
Sounds right, it's specifically the blue/purple/green chests that block the achievement. You can use logibots as long as they're only grabbing from yellow/red
@@Antipatience just a couple: burner inserting is disallowed on space platforms, and burner miners cannot mine the Vulcanus special ore, tungsten (could work around this one by strip mining the map of big/huge rocks and mass murder of demolishers? ..but the time crunch achieves may not permit). Oh. Oh, yeah, there's two nuclear achievements now too, so you'll need to do work with uranium for 100%. So that's 2, probably 3.

I did an all burner run but I didn't go for achievements and I also had 2 mods. Burner Long Inserter. and Inserters are faster based on the quality of fuel used.... so throw in some nuclear fuel for very fast insertion speed.
you, good sir, have some issues that only electricity can solve, and I wish you luck on overcoming any reason anyone would ever want to torture themselves, as this is just- insane.
You could guarantee* safety by using sideloading and priority splitters to only pass ingredients if the fuel lane is saturated. *Except grenades. The assemblers could eat all the coal while there's still iron on the belt.
You would think, but that only works if you have a splitter every couple assemblers. It only takes a handful of inserters to completely clear the belt during start-up, killing any inserter after it. At that point you're not really saving anything over dedicated fuel inserters It's decent enough for small builds or if you're not as risk of failing an achievement because 1 inserter dies, though
Got here from recommendations and the fact that the title and thumbnail both fail to mention what the game is was confusing but I somehow managed to guess correctly that it'd be factorio anyway so... task failed successfully? I don't even play this game
