I’m a new fan if this channel☺️.. I love this show and all the different ways to live camp and travel. I’m so inspired to build one myself now and take work on the road .. BTW this is the first time an owner has noted having carbon monoxide/ fire alarm detection- good job! 😆🙏🏻
this is very rare couple. having the level of respect for each other. The way they show us how it should be done. Thank you to this couple. and to this channel
I like this couple...I like their camper...I like the respect they give to each other...so refreshing in today's society...Gotta be that way if you are with each other 24 hours a day! Best of success to you on your travels!
I honestly think this is the best video on your channel and it has NOTHING to do with their rig. This couple is just absolutely amazing!! The way they RESPECT each other when the other is talking, the way they both look at each other. Just absolutely and amazing interview and the fact that they are so likable and respectful to each other I wish I could give this video 2 thumbs up!!!!
Love your camper! I had a Hawk on my F-150 for 14 years. I kept track of my nights and totalled 297 over night trips. It is perfect for weekend or even cross country trips. I drove it from California to the EAA air show in Oshkosh, WI one year. I decided to move up to a travel trailer and that was okay but not quite what I was looking for so I sold it and now have a 31' class C motorhome. It has all the bells and whistles but I'm seriously thinking of selling the C and going back to a new Hawk. With the Hawk I can go everywhere with it and it doesn't cost me $125 per month to store and $805 per year for license fees. With my Hawk I could cruise easily at freeway speeds without worry if I needed to brake or swerve like I do with the motorhome. Four Wheel is quality work. Thank you for sharing your video.
That may be the best build I've seen, for a truck bed camper. Beautiful. Very, very close to what I would do. Truly outstanding. Thank you for posting this video. You have a great channel.
Beautiful camper - I know you two are enjoying the heck out of this. So much in a very small space!! And this is one of those videos where I couldn't help but smile through the whole thing because these two people are obviously so happy together & respect what each other has to say.
The basic shell is a fantastic option for a weekend warrior. Store all your gear inside and sleep in the overcab bed. A cooler, cassette toilet, camp chair and some bins and you are good to go. I would much rather have my bikes, inflatable SUP and kayak locked inside. Makes much more financial sense than a van build. It’s much easier to to divest of just the shell without taking a big financial hit on the vehicle.
That is the EXACT setup I've been lying awake at night thinking about ! I have been looking at the shell model so I could keep it light and add only what I need.
Thank you for the excellent tour of the Four Wheel Camper. Anthony and Kathy were so nice to share all the great information about the camper and the extra work that they put into making it so comfy and cozy.
They are really a sweet couple who look like they did their homework. thank you for the review! This model and camp-x are the main ones I'm looking at. Thanks again, this is so helpful.
This is a great video of a four wheel camper. Far better than the one I made a few years ago with a blurry Cannon camera. We really enjoy our Four Wheel Camper shell with a fold over couch, heater, solar.
Patrick , I hope someday you will have 1 million subscribers . All your videos do such an excellent job of showcasing all different types of rvs , trucks , campers , trailers , etc . Simply put, nobody does these type of detailed videos as good as you . Thank you for your dedication . Joe , In PA.
Agree 🎉🎊🎉 educational indeed ..... and now we know what media blasting is .... well let me speak for myself .. hahahahahaha!!!!! . love the channel ...💞
I have a Hawk model, but mine has the sink , 3 way fridge, forced furnace two burner stove and a couple other features and love it! I bought mine new in 2007 and keep it on my truck pretty much all year around. And today if I wanted to sell it, I could probably get all my money back or more. Great investment!!! And this Four Wheel Camper company has just fantastic customer service!!!
I’m looking at truck campers myself, and came across the Four Wheel Camper models. I too drive a 1/2 ton GMC AT4 model truck with a 6.2 L engine. This video was very informative, and honestly , Four Wheel Campers should pay this couple for a great advertisement! One of the best reviews I’ve watched. I’d probably opt for a Hawk that was already built out , but the shell intrigues me as the customization is endless. I’d hire this gentleman to build mine out in a heartbeat if he lived in NC. Great video. Glad I landed on it.
Thanks to those Folks for showing their Camper to us. I have been interested in knowing more about this Model for a while. I do like the ease of not having to pull a Camper, plus the Mobility. He did a Great Job of fitting it out. The only things I would add, is a outdoor Shower and a Air Conditioning. Also a outside Awning would be nice. I like all the Headroom also. Very nice Camper and Great interview and Video.👍👍
Its very rare to see a Hawk on a half-ton truck so I appreciated this video to get their expectances. Even 3 years later this helps with my purchase options.
This is the first pop top pickup camper I have seen. It seems to be a sound investment and plenty of room. Thank you for the tour and such a nice couple
What a beautiful couple! They both spoke real clear. I'd like to go camping with them as they sound like they like to have fun and are adventurous. Thank you for having them and thank you for asking some of the important questions I needed answered. Great job..
Well, Patrick, you did it again. You are like a bloodhound when it comes to finding the unique and awesome DIYs. Thanks to you and that wonderful couple! 😎✌🏻🤘🏻🤙🏻😎
Thanks so much for sharing and showing the details of your camper. You were both very informative and helped to educate me. I am very impressed at the ease of ‘popping’ up the top. You always were very cleaver and handy with all of your precision adds. Great job. Happy trails.
One of the things that can assist you in food storage is the freeze dried survival food where you can get a package that's three days worth of food so you get a number of those together and you don't even need any refrigeration and you've got some pretty amazing meals and of course if you have a refrigerator a small refrigerator you can always chop up a little bit of meat and add it to the freeze dried foods and voila you can have some pretty scrumptious meals and it doesn't take a whole lot of room out of your camper and you can put more food in your camper than you can otherwise and if you carry extra containers of water and if you have extra propane fuel you can stay out boondocking considerably longer, I'm just a few suggestions that may help you on longer trips where you can stay out longer enjoy the wilderness longer !!!
That whole search conundrum used to be easily solved by going to the old Orchard Supply. They closed ours but I used to love that place because the employees were all older men (usually men) who loved to tinker, loved to build, and were so helpful to me while I was trying to build adaptive equipment for our daughter with sensory needs..if there are any of you out there, thank you for everything!
Nice! FWC is in the next town over from me :-). Lots of full timers live in these including We're The Russos and Bound for Nowhere. I love how the Anthony and Kathy were able to customize it for their needs.
Lovely couple! The charcoal/black exterior of the truck and camper looks super sleek. I have seen the Russo's version and not a big fan of their colour combo. Theirs looks more like a tradie's truck (no disrespect to tradies!).
Really cool. I like the FWC Project M. More of a basic aluminum truck cap, but with the pop top, and a bed over the cab. They make high quality stuff !
Sorry guys I have to come back with another commentary.. the smoke detector alarm is good where they put it the other alarm for invisible smells should be on Lower to the ground not on the roof they done it wrong right there.. propane gas is heavier than air and it will seep on Lower ground so if you're sleeping you won't wake up in the morning I highly recommend you put that alarm low to the ground no doubt it will ring before it gets to you..
Thank you so much Anthony and Kathy. I am looking for something like this for my GMC 1/2 ton. My wife and I want to have something to supplement retirement travel stays in motels/hotels.
What a beautiful truck camper!!! I live in the Northeast by NH and the reason pop tops arent too popular with us are the low winter temps and snowloads for sure!!
Oh my God How Lucky you are You have great camper truck Amazing video Love your channel so much Hopefully someday we can have camper truck like this We come from Indonesia Good Luck for you
Wow! This thing is awesome for quick man/woman getaways...fishing, hunting or just gotta get a way for a few days, or a nice long vacay. I would definitely want an awning and on the site they offer them that’s a good thing. Thanks Patrick! Nice tour, thank the couple too!
GREAT VIDEO, love those pop ups, hard to find, but my nephew is on his second one, if I found one at a reasonable price, I would buy it in a heart beat, then I would finally need a pick up truck, (love the van by the way)nice job Patrick
I always thought FWC was overpriced, the Hawk shell is now $17K and fully kitted out they can reach upwards of $50k! But it is very well constructed with solid materials, so the shell model is a good foundation for a custom build. I asked George at Humble Road if he would be willing to build out one of these and he said he'd love to, so going with a pro upfitter to build one of these out is an option for those who don't want to do it themselves, although it might be even more costly than buying one fully loaded from FWC.
A pretty nice rig. One thing I don't like is the lack of a good heater. A buddy heater will do the job but as part of the combustion of propane a lot of water vapor is created. Which condenses on the inside of the camper. A more conventional furnace such as a Suburban draws a lot of electricity and most will discharge overnight because of the blower.
What an excellent video! I have been considering doing the overland, tent, camping. After this video though, I'm convinced this would be a much better buy with much more comfort.
I like it as I have a Toyota Tundra, 4.7 Liter 48, 2X4 so it would not be able to haul a heavy camper. So this info was helpful. Nice to know there are many alternatives out there, but I need to find them in AZ. Thanks for the video. Liked your set up.
When using battery power ..I recommend using double or two batteries. . don't use one battery and buy them both at the same time.. failure to do so the will older battery will cancel out the new battery.. hell yeah.😃
I’m a new fan if this channel☺️.. I love this show and all the different ways to live camp and travel. I’m so inspired to build one myself now and take work on the road .. BTW this is the first time an owner has noted having carbon monoxide/ fire alarm detection- good job! 😆🙏🏻
Thank you very much. I enjoy your viewership
No they point them out all the time, or just see them. I’ve noticed on a couple of man made ones they weren’t there however, not safe.
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures - the roof looks thin. Do you hear the rain?
@@manofsan You bet!
Love this couple...they are nice people and I appreciate the way he doesn't over talk her and lets her do her thing while she lets him do his thing.
yes!!!!!Exactly
this is very rare couple. having the level of respect for each other. The way they show us how it should be done. Thank you to this couple. and to this channel

"today's society" lol
Very impressed with her planning the layout and his execution of the build. This is ridiculous. Amazing job!!!!

This is one of the best I've seen. My score 10/10. Nice couple, valuable advice and tips too.
Oh wow, awesome 👏🏼

Yes an eye opener for me
They have one called the project M you might like.
That is the EXACT setup I've been lying awake at night thinking about ! I have been looking at the shell model so I could keep it light and add only what I need.

Excellent interview, and the perfect amount of information. Don't know how this could have been better. Kudos to NJOA and Kathy and Anthony.
Thank you very much Michael

You could not have picked a better couple to interview and tour this Camper, very nicely done, thumbs Up!

I’m happy you found
Super clean build they did! Very articulate and well done tour.
Another great video. Thanks Patrick and your wonderful guests!
I've had my eye on one of these Hawks for a few months. This video is better than any of the vendor-made clips. Thank you!
Thank you very much
Great interview. Lovely couple and product...thanks
Thanks Patrick for such an informative video! Such a nice couple & an AWESOME pop up camper!!!
For what FWC charges they should modify the design to include underbed storage like all the rest. A decent mattress would be nice too.
This is the first pop top pickup camper I have seen. It seems to be a sound investment and plenty of room. Thank you for the tour and such a nice couple
Thank you 🙏🏼 I like this one too
Solar panels on top can have air conditioner I love stuff like this y'all have a blessed year
Glad you enjoyed the tour

New Jersey folks are really nice and friendly I enjoy visiting my friend each time from Arizona .. originally a mass hole by default :)
Love the pop-up top!!! and he built a nice space there... Great travel home
Thank you very much
Interesting option for a truck camper - maybe a good transition for a couple who wants to step up from tent camping.
Yes, totally agreed
Great hosts and another wonderful interview Patrick.
Thank you Ken

A lot of people just go with one fan. You were really smart going with two. Way to go IMO.
Great ideas here

really nice camper.....i didn't even know that there was a pop up truck camper
Nice camper. Wonderful people. Great interview. Congratulations!
great video...thinking about going this route as well. Nice to see personal touches and additions to a basic shell.
Thank you very much
Such a nice camper the design n layout is perfect n great couple
Thanks so much!
I love all that storage space
Cadence and ending each sentence on a high pitch ... I noticed that too... Nice build work ....
Wow, their cabinetry is as nice, or nicer, than what Four Wheel provides.
Amazing share. I have a 6.4" bed on my 1/2 ton 2019 Ram... looking into this.
You are spot on. Not easy to sorce something if you don't know what it is called.
Great video! Thank you. Very informative from beginning to the end. Very good Questions you brought up 👍🏽
Glad it was helpful!
Very informative. Thank you! We are definitely thinking about purchasing one in a few years. Great video.

Thank you very much

Go for it!
I have alway like Patrick when he was / is selling Air Stream - Think his new show is great, beleive he knows the industry better than most.
Nice couple and a good video!
Very nice. Lots of good luck & keep safe! I may look into something like this, it seems to be the way to go! Ty
Very nice and practical. Absolute freedom.
Well done! FWC makes great campers.
Yes, agreed 👍🏽
This couple is so cute.
Great light-weight unit!
I think so too!
