  • Episode 119 - We had many request to put all the videos of this roadster build into one video so in this episode we compile all the best pieces of parts 1 to 7, from our Roadster Body Build Series. We couldn't put all the bead rolling, english wheeling or fabricating from the original footage or this video would have been close to 3 hours. To see how Derek used the roadster piece to fabricate pieces for the 1932 5 window coupe projects, refer to our other videos.

Great job, nice to see it fully assembled,
    What frame did you use?
Did you assemble the frame too?

We used a Brookeville Roadster perimeter frame and then added the suspension brackets.

Always impressed with your work... I was however surprised that you elected to forgo sealing/primer/or painting interior areas or flanges before welding. While that practice strays from original...it's well justified.

Yes on some interior skins we have been priming first before putting the skins on. I agree it's good practice and especially if the car would ever see inclement weather. Most of these cars will never see any inclement weather though and are stored inside usually from November to May. All of the roadsters except our own left and were cleaned and then epoxy primed inside and out. We still have to clean and prime ours. It definitely would have been easier if we did the inside before assembly.

@ColdstreamRodShop I understand there a few quality epoxy spray can offerings available that could make the occasional primer shoot less of a chore.

there is a small gap of metal around the side/back. Do you know the purpose of this?

I'm not sure where you mean. If you have a picture or more info you can message me on Instagram DM. I'm sure once I understand where you're referring to I can answer.
