    This is exactly the way I imagine myself while swimming. However I’m told that I’m worming/twisting down the lane. Something is happening during my rotation.

    Great, Markus! Thanks so much for sharing! Just watching this over and over many times has given me some wonderful new insights. Was very coincidental to see this today, because it was earlier in the day when I had been out swimming in Lake Michigan that I had firmly told myself, " I MUST get some lessons on how to swim properly!"

    I notice he glided his forward arm- my observations seem that most cycle the forward arm down Rt away instead of gliding. I have to try this practice tomorrow!

    I noticed US freestyle swim tutorials you keep the lead hand out infront until the other hand has almost completed the stroke. Is this better than keeping your arm moving and initiating the catch stroke earlier?

      it depends on how fast you swim. If I swim longer distances I do it like you described above. when swimming faster the rhythm changes. mybe look at other videos of me here on my channel

    You can be smoother by sliding your hands in front of you into the water. Now still can hear splashing.

      Theres a fuy at our pool who os faster than me, but it sounds like 10 people swimming because he slaps the water.
      I dont know why it annoys me so much.

    I started learning how to freestyle swim last year. I still have while to go because I have to get the breathing down. Now I am out of commision due to shoulder surgery I just had done.

    Looks like "Total Immersion" technique for beginners, not fast but long distance. Not useful for beginners competition (triatlon), only if your purpose is just to take part there. 😊 For retired professional this way is the best, just lazy swim😅

    I only can swimming at fast beat without sinking. Currently, I'm trying to slow my beats hopefully one day can swim slowly like that. 💪💪

    While this stroke looks smooth and nice, The over reach on the catch will eventually cause shoulder problems for this swimmer & anyone who copies him. Hands should enter fingers first just outside the shoulders .and there needs to be more body roll to take advantage of body physics. Additionally the head shouldn’t lift to breath,

    I see a major flaw in his stroke. He's catch should be at 11 0'clock and 1 o'clock. Not at the head!

    A little bit of torque on the wrist of the hand not wearing the watch. Also, the hands are not cupped enough to 'catch' the water, and the arm does not really pull down efficiently. 7/10

    How do I get rid of constantly pressing on my leading arm while turning my head to breathe in?.. this slows me down a lot. Can't imagine how he swims so smoothly without any pressure on his leading arm.

    This looks like an 8 lane 50 metre pool.
    Possibly it is in Florida or in California, not Arizona or Texas.
    It might be in one of The Carolina’s.

      The body must be free of muscle tension to swim freely. It's all about technique. Practice makes perfect.
