Hey y'all. ❤ 1st: I looooove corpus!!! I grew up visiting family every cpl yrs in San Antonio/Austin & lived in San Marcos. Go TEXAS!!! From a tn/ga girl. 😂 plus, Mr Handsome's birthday was sat & he was all disappointed that he didn't tell you. I said I would, even though it's late. But he wanted y'all to know he's 23 now! 😂❤❤
I love the back stage videos - whether they're "From the Vault", "Tim Eats [wherever]" or "Home Away From Home". I'm in Canada - I'd never heard of "Tex-Joy". I wonder if I can order it from Amazon? In Home Free's video "Meet in the Middle" Austin's wearing a Jeffrey East t-shirt - I wonder if they all have them! Thanks for playing this one!
Yes, Tim's dad is alive, but his parents are divorced. His father remarried, so Tim has some half-sibs. He also has a full sister (also adopted). All of his immediate family is short. Tim towers over all of them.
As a total side note....Tims speaking voice is as amazing as his singing voice. Id actally (discreetly) turn my head to look for who had that speaking voice in public.
Food -- it always brings people together ... or gatherings (get-to-gathers) is around food! Intent -- they're just like everyone else and the same things! Friends & Family ... and it is content because everyone (fans) do have an interest! Be Safe
You get to meet Tim's dad in part 2 that you skipped. He's not a tall man. But Tim is adopted, so related by heart not by blood. I love Dena. She's a teacher (retired a couple years ago) like many members of my family including my mom, so there's a kinship there. (During one of his, "I'm giving up music" phases Tim worked as a substitute math teacher and was considering teaching as a career when the siren song of music called him back. Thank goodness for Joe Bilotta!) She often drops by the chat during Home Free premieres and always calls Tim "Timothy", never just Tim.
@@mrs.allczech9185 Yes. There are some videos from concerts around the time they were selling the teddy bears, where Tim explained they were selling them to donate to an organization that addressed kids in crisis, and he mentioned that he was grateful to have been adopted, but not all kids have been so lucky.
@@mrs.allczech9185 He doesn't hide it, but it's not like he talks about it all the time. His mom and dad are his mom and dad. His sister is his sister. And so on. It's just family.
So, the way they pronounce "kolache" as singular is the plural form in Czech (where it comes from), so technically one should be "kolach" [koal-aach] and it's supposed to be flat with sweet topping (usually poppyseed, curd cheese or plum jam), it's not supposed to be filled, but topped
I love how they all gather and help out. She knows how to delegate and let them do it! The meat you’re thinking of is cubed steak. It’s so much fun watching them eat together, trying new things. The croissants look delicious! I look forward to the next installment. Adam Bastien is from Detroit. Happy Home FrYday 🍟 🎶 Cyd
AHHH - CUBED STEAK!! Thank you, Cyd!! I swear, the older I get my memory just is fading. I can't think of even the most basic words sometimes. Thank GOODNESS for friends like you!!! xoxo
Tim is adopted. Not related to his adoptive parents as far as I know. Jeremy, you use a digital kitchen scale when cooking, dont you? 😆 Cubed steak. Tim pronounced Kolache correctly. I put out feelers to see if anyone can duplicate TexJoy... Yay! I was born in Ft Worth! Re: oysters. Me too, Jeremy.
Thanks for the info, @wolfe6220!! And LOL on the "kitchen scale" remark. The poor guy cooked dinner for me once and was so stressed out, we opted to never try this again. LOLOLOL!!! PS: would LOVE to know exactly what's in that TexJoy!!!

It is Kolache (coal-a-chee) sold them in the bakery I worked at. LOL Very popular in Minnesota. As for Tim's mom, Deena, she is a sweetheart. To me a states cooking is every mama’s cooking! From Tennessee but found out that Illinois has some extremely good country cooking when I was on store set up there! Definitely slightly different to Tennessee country cooking but definitely country cooking! Looking at it later, why wouldn’t they! Miles and miles of corn and beans everywhere! Enjoyed it! I’m going to eat now! Low bass Kenneth 😂
Tim's dad has been in at least 2 videos, part 2 of this one (which has the bbq) and he is in their newest version of anywhere the wind blows (at the end). Bastien is from Michigan

I’m a Capricorn and I cook like Jillian: plain cooking is by how the breading looks and baking is measured precisely - at least the first time I do a recipe. The 2nd time, I usually cut the sugar way back and tinker with the spices. 😊
After seeing Tim's mother, father, and sister in various "Eats" videos and being how short they all are compared to Tim, it was obvious to me that he was adopted. The only thing there that matters to me is that I'm happy he ended up with such a lovely and loving family. Darrell is an old friend of Tim's and has known Jenika even longer. He's the one who introduced Tim to his future bride. This video is part 3 of Texas Eats with Tim Foust. In the first 2, as well as Minnesota Eats with Tim Foust and Nashville Eats with Tim Foust, and Oddities and Eats the guys and various friends hit several restaurants in those areas. Tim, being the big foodie that he is, is sort of the central person in the videos. Although it's not listed under the "Eats" banner Home Free - Home Away From Home - Episode 5 is actually the first Eats video. Austin is the one who named it at the beginning of the video as he and Chance headed into Pips Original Doughnuts in Portland Oregan
Hello J & J. My Mom used to cook much like Tim's Mom does. Some of my first happy memories are cutting biscuits while Mom made gravy. By the time I was 9, I was cooking for my family so Mom could take a break. Baking is much more structured with careful measuring. Thanks for the great reaction!
This type of biscuits and gravy is common in the South. My Aunt in North Carolina use to make it every morning with all of the other breakfast foods. Those round biscuits and brown gravy are taboo, the Southern style is to knead the dough using self-rising flour only until the ingredients are mixed by hand like she was doing there, not by using a rolling pin or a doe mixer. (That will make the biscuits rock hard.) The gravy always starts with a first base (sausage, bacon, chicken, turkey, lard.) "real butter" and the self-rising flour. Whatever base you have in the pan, add a 3/4 stick of butter, and a heaping tablespoon of flour on high heat stirring it in quickly with a whisk, and another, and another, and another. The base will be finished when it's the consistency of yogurt, has the color of peanut butter, and the smell of popcorn. (Hillbilly Culinary) Then just add the milk and season with salt and pepper. (What Tim's mom is doing.) while slowly stirring, you may use up to 31/2 cups of milk turning down the heat while stirring. Thanks, y'all loved this reaction.
Chef, @cowboy1165 !!!! WHOA, thank you for this awesome country gravy recipe!! I copied and saved this make at home. MMM MMM MMM!! And SO good to know about the biscuits. Does it count if we use Bisquick?!!? 😜
