We as audience are stupid that we are expecting morality and searching for perfect rolemodels in them when they themselves havent promised any such thing. This is halo effect and group think at play. Why are expecting to learn about relationships from aperson who is just supposed to act and entertain us. In the end we audience are at fault because we are not objective and rational enough. We are trying to view their lifestyle from our moral code when we dont have any data/idea about their actual life is like.

If these actors aren't smart enough to answer these questions tactfully its nt Karen's fault atall..karan himself hs been bombarded with a lot of rapid fires of his own on multiple occasions nd he hs aced them with his witty humour nd sharp brain, that's y education nd a working brain is important, ppl like deepika r jst too dumb nd rely only on their p.r team to do everything 4 them, bt its hard faking a politically correct nd smart personality all the time when in reality u r quite the opposite person hence,u get exposed when u meet real nd smarter ppl like karan.

I mean even in arranged marriage setups people do talk with few selected suitors to know the likings/dislikings and more about that person before committing to the final one then why this one is getting portrayed as red flag nd all.. Also, coming out of depression and anxiety and then being open and vocal about it and more importantly trusting 1 person is way tough than one can imagine (few can who have been in similar situations).. No one is taking about how mental health was discussed in this episode, how Ranveer created safe space for her to feel comfortable and how even Karan spoke about him battling it alone and seeking the much needed help after crying heart out. I mean it still takes guts to own and speak about it when majority has a thinking that oh these people are rich then how can they suffer from depression which is so wrong in so many ways.. I hope to see more people being open and out about their feelings and emotions.. It was a good episode..

My biggest takeaway from this episode remains that it was refreshing that there were more vulnerable moments of three people who feel free to confide in each other. The mental health confession of both Deepika and KJo were heartfelt but equally impressed about Ranveer take about what's a partner role in being the support system. That whole "open relationship" from where their relationship STARTED is ridiculous. The sl**-shaming is ridiculous when as you said, it's something both parties knew about. The Will Smith parallel is absurd. The fact that people don't even agree with a mature statement that "marriage is work everyday to make it last" is demonstrative hoe people live in fantasyland that love starts rosy and remains rosy without any hiccups. From what it seems, regardless of PR, is that both Ranveer and Deepika seem to be in a very happy, secure and safe space with each other, it's so pointless evaluating about how the story started. imo.

The expression Ranveer showcased is perfectly normal. No one springs with joy when your partner talks about their exes. What Deepika did before settling with Ranveer is what almost everyone does at least in metro cities and is very common and normalised. And then to the point where Ranveer sounded irritated, it was normal too! He wasn’t really angry, it’s called having banter and it was nothing more than a friendly squabble. I know soo many people who do the same with their partners and it’s just friendly and having fun. You can’t always be I love you I love you all the time! There’s just so much stupidity floating in memes on social media it’s hilarious. Then again, I’m only reacting to what was portrayed by the couple and not what they are or are not in their real life. So naturally she will be wary of any relations. So it makes sense that she wanted a casual relation. She didn't give her 100% till he proposed bcoz she didn't want to repeat the same mistakes. I personally really liked this episode. Everyone was quite vulnerable about important things. And while ranveer and deepika may have whatever relationship they do, they actually raked about some very important actions required in a good relationship - intent, patience, care giving, support pillar, honesty. But most importantly, whatever happens between a couple with each other's consent is their business.

It's refreshing after seeing a couple other dudes (and women too, in their comments) tripping over themselves to call her a toxic red flag and that she was only keeping Ranveer as a backup.
When I watched my first video regarding this situation, I thought the outrage was because Ranveer didn't seem comfortable (and I'd even say he looked angry/disappointed/hurt) that Deepika spilled something private about their dating phase to the public; i.e. people were of the opinion she should've not talked about it because it didn't seem Ranveer was okay with talking about it, which meant she disrespected Ranveer as her partner. I didn't think the outrage was that they were in an open relationship.

It's genuinely upsetting how this has been blown out of proportion. A couple were in a sort of open relationship before they were fully committed. It's possible that, initially, Ranveer was more sure about the relationship than Deepika was (which perhaps explains Ranveer's reaction) until she too was finally convinced. What's wrong with that? The problem, as you point out, is more with our fan projections on these stars than with the stars themselves. The way Deepika is being slut-shamed now on social media says more about us than about them.
The fact that, at times, their reactions seemed awkward has also to do with the immense pressure of coming to this show and constantly being afraid about what might blow up on social media. Every relationship has its good, bad, and ugly, and we should first learn to acknowledge this instead of projecting our idealized romantic fantasies onto the personal lives of our stars.

And they look great together, which is important in their line of work. Besides, we don’t know anything else about their personal life.
Also, which BW couple doesn’t have any previous dating history? Ranbir had a very public break up with Katrina and then married Alia. Alia broke up with Siddharth, who then married Kiara. Katrina married Vicky after dating Salman, Ranbir. The point is, no one’s relationship history was perfect. Hi. Not bashing Deepika. But I could conclude the only reason why some had issues with Deepika's statements and why maybe they're accusing her as a red flag maybe due to the fact that one hand you're praising your now husband to be your strongest support system, but he was never your first choice and that you're publicly claiming after five years of marriage? Also the reason many men are specifically having issues with this just a few days back Ranbir Kapoor was slammed left, right and center for his past life and how he apparently treats his wife. But some people are forgetting that Deepika too had a colourful dating life back then. So again, if Alia and Ranveer don't have any problems with their spouses then who are we to comment on it. But then don't praise someone and call them empowering and powerful when a few days back you were bashing someone else for their chemistry with their spouse. Lastly personally I felt bad for Ranveer at a point specifically because he looked genuinely upset. To ya. That's all. Thanks for reading it.

Hi Jammy...thank you so much for giving such a nuanced take on this topic. ❤
According to me, neither Deepika nor Ranveer said anything untoward in that episode. I have watched the whole of it and carefully so, as I am a fan of KWK (barring some episodes) and this episode was quite refreshing and "genuinely" emotional (at least it seemed so to me, can't speak for others)
Also, coming to the entire conversation which started all the influx of trolls towards the couple...I think Deepika (correct me if I am wrong) clearly said that at that time she n Ranveer had met each other and just started liking each other. But they didn't instantly start dating! So when they weren't dating, Deepika still had a soft-corner for Ranveer and liked him but were meeting (or seeing) others as though she clearly had a liking towards him and knew about it "at the back of her mind" but wasn't really sure of it. She said that she used to find herself coming back to Ranveer and felt committed to him "mentally", which means she realised who her heart beats for and both eventually start dating (at least this is what I understood). Hence, I feel she was not infidel to Ranveer because she and him clearly didn't start dating when she was "meeting" other people.
Coming back to Ranveer's reaction...I think he just reacted the way he reacts and he wasn't upset or anything. He is a bit quirky in his expressions, at times which is actually fun to watch as an audience. When he used the word "suitors", Deepika and Karan just asked who were they and I think Deepika just didn't want to reveal any names so she was trying to diffuse the situation and Ranveer also understood it clearly (he is more loving and understanding towards Deepika than all of us combined)
And it was their past...so let us please keep it in their past.
Also, it seems like Ranveer and Deepika know in and out about one another's dating history and still love each other and are sticking together. Then, why are the trollers getting so offended is beyond me 🙈
(P.s.: This is not me defending or offending anyone. Just an observation. Especially because I was utterly shocked to see such an uproar towards an episode which I personally found was one of the warmest KWK episodes)

It’s okay for two people to have a different understanding of the situation and perhaps explore different relationships if there is nothing serious. With Deepika everyone knows from the past that when she has truly committed she has been a loyal partner. I don’t see male actors who have infact cheated go through this much scrutiny. I also was quite disappointed that people are just calling this one thing a red flag. An hour of edited episode doesn’t give one enough information to judge two people’s relationship. Also, the courage to talk in such depth about depression and acknowledging one’s partners effort and support should be the central conversation. Again, can’t believe just based of one comment about what happened 11 years ago people are judging a person who at that time was undergoing depression, was on medication and did what they could to survive.

if they can't filter things that affect their lives they will not be able to make it in this tough world. kids these days are smart enough to distinguish the right from wrong and I'm pretty sure they have parents to help them out as well.
in no way is a celeb responsible for anything they said in a talk show. they're talking about their personal lives which you are consciously watching to get to know them more. they say something that you don't agree to and suddenly they are toxic. how immature are you!

It is not the idea of open relationships people are strongly reacting to. Deepika has been pushing a PR image of sati savitri for years and has been shaming Ranbir Kapoor for cheating on her. She has gone on many shows saying she won't tolerate infidelity. Not even emotional infidelity. Then turns around and says she was seeing other people while dating Ranveer and being in an open relationship. It's the INCONSISTENCY and HYPOCRISY people are reacting to.

But he probably didn't expect her to go on national television and brag about being in an open relationship, which must have been embarrassing for him and possibly not discussed prior to the interview. Hence the shock on his face. In the video, you can clearly see him attempting to put it in a diplomatic way by starting off to say "even though others were courting her, we were drawn to each other"(or something equally positive), when she interrupted him with "like who?" and then desperately following it up with "I don't remember". Then he had to actually say "I remember very clearly". It was super cringe and Deepika didn't come out looking innocent.

and also not to spill personal conversation on a tv show IF your partner is not comfortable BUTTTTT
