Mate, that song choreography (Va Va voom(?)) looks truly international standard. A class above the one in Dil Dhadakne Do. Well done ZA. Rest is far too sterilised and largely uninteresting. It’s seems nothing more than a department store Christmas year-end catalogue.

@@pavithra_paul This statement is done to death, apart from 1 or 2 actors most nepo actors have failed despite having more chances to prove themselves. Janvhi kapoor has not lived up to expectations and her sister is way off that I fail to see what acting school choose her and what good did that do. With all the priveleges guess getting everything on a platter didn't do most of nepo actors good.
I didn't have any expectations, and the outcome didn't surprise me. With a director like Zoya, it's disappointing how things went wrong. I found myself constantly checking the runtime, watching just for the sake of it. Hopefully, Vedang sees this as a learning experience and opts for a better script in the future.
A hardcore murder mystery would have been a better storyline for such backdrop. "Teens solving murder case". Could have been a fresh take on detective genre and then the actors would have to give more good performances.
That was my expectation walahi I was hoping they at least copied Riverdale in some ways, some murder mystery would be a lot nice but I guess I am glad I didn’t watch this shit show
There's something about Vedang that makes him very attractive. Haven't seen someone like that in Bollywood in a long time. I saw a picture of his on Instagram where he is donning a leather jacket and it instantly reminded me of the boys in Grease. Later, I noticed Katrina post a review of the movie and she mentioned a similar thing about Vedang - that he reminded her of the actors in old Hollywood musicals!
i love how jammy explained the archies to us desis for 3 minutes before continuing the review massive win for jammy to keep his not so urban population like us in the loop

I agree but hey it's bollywood so we all know what will happen agstya will be getting more projects in comparison to vedang and we all know that side had and still has his fair share of struggles let's just hope vedang outshines all of these hurdles and makes a name for himself

Aly Khan is a childhood friend and long time collaborator of the Akhtar siblings. He was there in Don 2 and Luck By Chance as well. A very talented and serious actor who doesn't get much to do in Indian cinema space. It's good that his friends are writing parts for him.
I used to love him in the detective crime drama Ye Hai Raaz.. starring him n Ruby Bhatia.. on Star Plus probably . This was long before the similar at core "White Collar" from USA

Well every line of life, every industry stands on nepotism.its human behavior.no stranger criticism ,anger and disgust will make you overlook your flesh and blood, that's how humans are programmed.
I had a guts feeling right after watching the trailer, that no matter how much limelight is showered upon Agastya, Suhana and Khushi, it is Vedang Raina and Mihir Ahuja who will grab eyeballs but still I wish all of them to have a very bright future.
Suhana's confrontation scene with her father, the Dilton and Mantle scene. Wanted to see more such moments in the movie. But the movie was too surface level and never dug deep. Like I really wanted to know why Jughead was so scared of Veronica. I thought they would show some interesting back story for that but nothing happened.
Imma be honest, if someone were to cast experienced ppl in the important roles (only the kids not the parents' roles) while keeping the sets qnd costume story the same, this would make a totally watchable series. Throw in a new social message every episode and u might even have something similar to hip hip hurray from the 90s.

They started off good with the Anglo Indian backstory but there was too many subplots and lost its focus. I liked vedangs acting and character the best and suhana khan in some scenes. Overall it’s not bad but definitely good. It’s a meh one time watch
Exactly. I'd prefer to watch something completely horrible like "Deshdroh"i or "Mein Tera Hero" over this mediocrity because atleast those movies could still be enjoyed in the so bad it's good way
As someone who watched Riverdale (a Hollywood series based on the Archie comics), I had high hopes for this movie and though it could never disappoint me as Zoya was directing it, I thought Riverdale was bad but this movie was pure shit at least half of Riverdale series was interesting but I have never felt more disappointed with a movie as I did with The Archies. I think Zoya did not really understand the characters before portraying them or maybe the actors were just bad but I think the storyline had a bit of potential if they did it differently it would have been a pretty decent movie. In my opinion, this whole movie is just a debut for the whole Nepo kids
I completely agree with you I know Riverdale was bad serial, but at least it started up really well and the actors were so genuine and real. This movie was a complete trash. There was basically not good story to it like Zoya had no clue what she was building directing writing so it was a total crap and I'll tell you if these wasn't for star kids, this movie would've never made its, just Silverspoon up there as as they got and they are becoming stars but I would get zero out of five this movie
I used to love it.. till season 3 lost me. The characters were modernised so well. Betty from Archies and Visarpi from Raj Comics were my fictional crushes in childhood 😅. The characters of Archies were updated quite well to the modern world, with them having personalities now.... esp. Forsythe P. Jones
The s1 of Riverdale was actually good even though it was different from the comic. But it just went downhill after that. I used to occasionally watch it just to see how absurd it got. It seemed like the casts were held at gunpoint to shoot some of their scenes. When I watched the trailer for this i thought at least it's better than that crap.
But if you look at the stories of archies comics, it's exactly this. A simple, feel good, teen spirit story with a lesson to learn. From that sense, the makers have stayed true to the comic's essence. When watching the movie, it honestly felt like reading one of archies comic's lengthier stories. Actor's probably could've done better, but the makers did a pretty good job of staying true to the Archies.
FARHAN AKHTER as a Nepo kid has the Best Debut Movie, LUCK BY CHANCE. That said the archies movies will be liked by Dps and Saint Xavier pre-teens only.
@@TriedRefusedProductions Class is a rehash of Elite with good actors but a series gives more time to explore characters. Not fair to judge a movie with a series. If this was a series, it would have worked better...but then the budget would have been insane considering the effort required.
As far as bad films go, I don’t think this was that bad, it was an average, feel-good, fluff piece of a movie. As for performances, I have always like Jughead as a character more and I have seen Mihir Ahuja’s work before so I was more excited for him and he was quite good but I was pleasantly surprised by Vedang Raina’s portrayal of Reggie, definitely a standout. Suhana Khan wasn’t the best but she wasn’t plain bad either; from the 3 principle characters, she definitely stood out. Overall, this film is good as one-time watch ❤
The whole movie ultimately felt like a very long Scooby Doo episode where the gang tries to solve another mystery problem (but unfortunately it never gets solved because the problem the whole time was the movie itself)
Personally, I really think movies based on light hearted cartoons or comics have to be made into animated format in order to work. Live action brings in huge chunks of realism of the human world which makes it weird and unless you go full Wes Anderson mode, you cant work with it. With Disney's live action remakes of all their animated movies, there comes a lot of improvement to work on and it just doesn't work unless it is fully animated like Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin. Im not in favor of Disney's live action movies.
Is anyone in favor of the unnecessary live-action Disney remakes? Can we even call The Lion King remake live-action? I also don't understand all the "reimaginings" or whatever of characters that have been around for decades. Why not tell new stories with new characters? They can be inspired by pre-existing characters, but please don't expect me to believe these are The Archie's when nobody (except Dilton) looks anything like the characters that have been around longer than I've been alive. Even them explaining the origin of Riverdale...that's not Archieverse...that's some Pleasantville or Stepford Wives story that I could invest myself more in if it wasn't messing with The Archie's that I grew up with. (I also struggled with the Riverdale series.) Anyways, the movie exists and some people seem to like it.
2/3 One simple Way to know the situation of westernization of Indian content and acting is, how the actors smile, is it more constructive and robotic like westerners, or have our fluid smile, expression and body language, way of talking like local non-globalized-westernized indians. Best way to tackle this problem is by hiring local actors who have been unconsciously matured in isolated local Indian society. And remove elite wesrernized people forever from entertainment industry. our acting, cinematography, storytelling should be influenced by our culture and region
I liked that the love story was a foil for the bigger story of community, camaraderie and capitalism. Appealing to both kids on the surface level and 70s, 80, 90s kids who can relate to these themes full of innocence and purpose. The music acted seamlessly to compliment the narrative and certainly makes sense why Netflix backed this project but also marketed it at Tudum. It recognised your Indian audience will give it a watch because they are obsessed with Star Kids but banked on non-Indian Audience being drawn to it as well. If not for an already existing Riverdale Series, this Archie Adaptation would have worked better as a short series. But it is to date the most faithful adaptation As to the debutants, it is unfortunate that too much media attention is given to these children of existing Stars. With their access to designers and PR - public is primed to focus on them. And even when reviewers are criticising them you are falling into their hands of the PR wheel. For me the actors Mihir, Dot, Yuvraj and Vedang especially show immense talent for a debut and I hope they receive more oppurtunities in future. Suhana and Agastya make a decent debut nothing exceptional despite training but are very good dancers. Khushi is a conundrum. Her dialogue delivery is flat and does not match her physical acting/body language. I am not sure if this was a dubbing issue?
Let’s give credit where it’s due - kudos to Zoya for coming up with this world. I didn find it hard to believe that Riverdale was an Anglo Indian community. My main gripe is with the character depiction and the acting of the trio. When the trailer came out, I thought Khushi would be the most underwhelming of them all but I must admit she is better than Suhana and Agastya. Agastya can’t act for crying out loud. He has a constant expression on his face. Suhana was stiff for most of the movie but there is scope for improvement. Vedang steals the show. Mihir is good too. Aly Khan is amazing too. The story in itself was okay. Wish the music was on point.
Yes,now the magic of nepotism will work, they all will get more and more movies until they are finally praised in some performance and all of a sudden they will become born actors
Dude..Mr. Lodge was never an absentee father!! He was always caring and loving of the entire gang..his only complaint against his daughter was the huge bills she would stack up.
I think there’s even a scene where one of the parents says : Tum dikhte kaise ho..yeh important nahi hai. Tum feel kya karte ho? My point exactly. The production, music, look of everything is super pretty but at the end if you don't feel for any of the characters it's just pointless to me..... It's my Least fav. Zoya's film definitely
I loved it, the set design were too perfect of course they would be its a comic book, the plot was simple and perfect for a comic book, teens read Archies of course its not ment to be heavy, yes its sometimes preechy and come of the dialogues corney but the kids are 17!! One doesn't expect intellectual discourse from 17 yesr olds. Agastya was cute as archie, neive and clueless, he was on point yes he needs to improve in some aspects, Suhana and Khushi really do need to work a lot more, but i think suhane had the oomph and croquetness of Ronni, the comic book betty was more sunny, sweed and kind, Khushi didn't get it, vedang as Reggie didn't seem like the comics book Reggie, he was more mature and evolved, but i liked the actor very much, he definitely had talent, i hope he gets more offers. I liked the songs and didnt mind them, i thought the lots if English fit the Anglo indian community. I would have been suprised if they spoke perfect hindi! By the way jammy, u took the movie to seriously forgetting its just and adaptation of a comic book really!!! In the chat i see many just dising the movie just on prejudice. Oh! Its got starkids and we hate starkids right!!! Just give the kids a chance, this nepotism debate is becoming toxic!! Did Dhirubhai Ambani leave his legacy to his neighbour kids?? Lots of politicians and launching their own kids. But we only have problem with nepotism if its from the film industry?? What gives?
The Archies is all about nostalgia of the simple days of childhood. I guess those who have been in their teens in the sixties can relate to it all the more. No mobile phones, no video games, only simple unstructured outdoor activities, family gigs and the fun of community living. Basically it's a poetry in motion.
I can relate to you. Been an 80’s kid myself - I have seen my town go through a plethora of changes which has robbed it of its charm. The kirana stores being replaced by super markets, pastry outlets taking over local bakeries - these r things I can relate to. If only they had cast better actors for the main lead this movie would have been a nice watch
The most intuitive focus for a musical movie should be music and choreography, If it blunders over there then there’s no saving for the project. We expect better from Zoya Akhter. I really wanted to root for the star kids on the project to shine themselves when they need the support in the time of backlash from public, hope they’ll do appear in better projects as well.
Idk if it's the character of Dilton or the way it was portrayed in the movie by the actor but I have absolutely started loving Dilton so much so that I might ending reading the the original Archies comics now but i absolutely loved Dilton in this movie although he might seem primary class lesson but I'd say when the entire movie has such an innocent and young and optimistic vibe I think it is fine to have such lines. I liked the simplicity of the movie even though the messaging is on the nose but not everything has to have a hidden meaning not every movie is meant to be thought over for days together to understand them some are just meant to be watched enjoyed and considered as just plain entertainment rather than a thought provoking project. Also I didn't know about the casting and the star kids thing before watching the movie so idk i just didn't have that perspective to think of
I found the movie to be enjoyable. It wasn’t trying to be groundbreaking or make some grand social statement. Instead it’s a rather simple and fun coming of age take on The Archies comics with some appreciated messages here and there. The movie was a bit lengthy and I think it could’ve used some better editing in that aspect. The songs fit the vibes of the movie and I respect that the film tried something different with the soundtrack. The actors did their part well and this movie gave them a fantastic launch. How far they’ll go now depends on the scripts they are offered and accept. All in all, I liked The Archies and thought it to be a nice movie to pass the time. 3/5 stars for me.
3/3 We as nation have 2 levels of challenges for our own self image of our identity & not letting others control our narrative of our culture and identity: 1) West, jinhe hamare cultural ego/ self image ko ghol dena hai taki ek clear rasta ban jaye for influence, so we 'consiously' see ourselves, through their eyes & wants to make us a SUBJECT to their world, & accept their mainstream authority, stereotypes, their image etc on us and want us to imitate them, and detach us from our 'unconsious' isolated society. 2 ) Western minded Elites working in film industry and otts in our own nation who ALREADY have accepted being a subject of western world & encourage and promote and help them, and love imitating them, and think by copy pasting everything west (culture, asthetics, trends, socio politcs) they are making our art developed, they love being in a western socio politico cultural fantasy world, and make aspirational content for local by their will and create groomed locals
Tbh, I liked the movie. It’s a one time watch and I agree it’s a no brainer movie but at times when we’ve so much going on in our personal lives watching something lighthearted with such a beautiful glimpse of yesteryear comic background was refreshing. Nevertheless I liked Khushi and Vedang’s works than others.
On point. When you said, "It doesn't evoke an extreme emotion from me," I think that's because the film didn't even try to do so in the viewers. It's just rushed. The narrative doesn't flow but rather is so fast that one hardly even gets the opportunity to connect and feel for the characters. More than acting what really didn't work for me was the story writing and direction. This is because the actors (barring Mihir AHUJA btw not Arora) are on their very first job, so I didn't even expect anything from them. But Reema and Zoya, on the other hand, are seasoned, so they should have relied more on substance and narrative than just the set and the feels. Edit - Vedang really stood out, though, excited to see more of him.
Why the hell did Zoya Akthar choose these talentless idiots for this project. She is a good director but this movie's casting was her biggest mistake 😢
Most honest review on internet ❤ After Film Companion & Gallata published overwhelmingly positive reviews about the movie I was a bit sceptical, is it really that good? Now we have the true answer. Its just meh!!!!😂😂
The movie where the making and delivery trumps the story and characters. Archies is always a light subject to work with, kudos to the makers for not going overboard and keeping the beauty of the rendition intact. One of the best musicals in recent times.
i actually really liked the aesthetic of the movie. the costume, the hair styles everything is gr8. i just wish they spent more time on showing their bond which would have made it more genuine. juggy ethel and dilton's charactor looked genuine and i wished reggie had more screen time. overall its a good light movie but i really wished more of the friendship was shown. i would say dont hold your prejudice against starkids and just try watching it if not for starkids then for the other 4, its also their movie and they really did a good job. kudos to them and i am looking forward to their future💙💙
Idk if he has prejudice towards them since he has been a fan of Ranbir, ranveer, Alia, Kareena like everyone else. These three, on the top of my head, have gotten their due because they leveled-up their acting alot since their debut.
Am a srk fan start to finish, and i think Suhana is not gonna be a public superstar though she'll get big budget main character than multi starer movies but that's it. Suhana is gonna be next Abhishek Bachchan though he is praised now but in his starting era people were disappointed, now he is sometimes good and sometimes just bearable.
I think she has a strong pr and lot of support from srk fans. She would definitely get huge roles, she ok with first role, should see how her future role do.
@@user-wh7rb4ce8e that's what i said, she'll get bigg movies as a lead for few times then she'll move to multi starer like houseful and all. im not quite sure about the nepos just because it seemed as if they couldnt carry a film. kind of like janvi kapoor in that sense where theyre alright actors but only if they have specific directors who can work with them and _make_ them shine. I hope they do well (i mean even alia bhatt surprised us) but the dialogue delivery was the last straw for me. i just couldnt take them seriously
Honestly, my thoughts are 50-50 on this one. I did not hate this movie nor did I love it. For me it's a one time watch but what I can say is that the debuts of these nepo babies were better than I expected as compared to the nepo baby debuts that we've been getting recently. I did enjoy agastya's and suhana's acting in most of the frames and khushi's as well in some parts of the movie, although they can do better. Also, the other actors Mihir, vedang, dot and Yuvraj were actually really good. I just wish that the script was done better otherwise, the cinematography and sets were amazing and the acting was also good.
i liked the movie and the plot was good too! I liked the simplistic nature of the movie! However, I got a bit tired of so many songs in the movie but because it's a musical we have to bear with it! I think Agasthya and Vedang really performed well and they might get more offers after this, but the performance by Khushi was not up to mark.....I would still say that Suhana was okay in her snobbish role but she still needs to work a lot to shine, her dancing skills were great though!! Being a sucker for romance, I was a bit disappointed that portion was not explored well but at the end when ronnie and betty confronted archie, that scene stole my heart because it was refreshing to see two girlfriends choosing their friendship over a guy❤❤ Overall I think this movie is good to watch when you just want to have a stress-free and peaceful experience!
@@TriedRefusedProductions It is Christmas time - and the film aims to be that. Why judge it for what it is not aspiring to do - it is a Archies film based on the comics, nothing else.

vedang and mihir definitely stood out for me but at the same time, agastya's narration sounded convincing although during his scenes his expressions might be off. yuvraj and dot portrayed their parts well. khushi and suhana both were good in their dialogue delivery during their emotional scenes, however, the rest of the movie- they were quite stiff with the dialogues
If we can accept the idea of a summer camp somewhere in india for children with room for parents and love interests, grand parents along with a college where girls go around in short skirts, boys are skating, hostel rooms from a magazine in '98 from kkhh we certainly can accept this
Isn’t this movie streaming on Netflix? So it may have targeted international audience… I’m a Sri Lankan and I really liked it, cz it gave a Christmas vibe in Indian way. I don’t know much about Archie comics but I never liked Riverdale, for me The Archies is hundred times better than Riverdale… btw, I agree with this review regarding the performances, Reggie stole the show but Jughead was the best… all three girls and Gilli were good, though Archie was good he was not good enough… (I used character names cz I don’t know their real names)
Not all movies are meant to be taken seriously. Its a light hearted feel good movie. I liked it. Its quite different from anything I have seen recently.
They should adapt Chanda mama comic. It has lot of medieval stories. It's disappointing how people who can make fantastic adaptation of so many Indian novels, comic, short stories never do it instead keep making cheap knock off of west. 🙄
Hey it was such a cute/fresh concept. Why? The ending moved me to tears. Being a Kodava, we are as anglicized as the anglo indians; most of us atleast, we think in english; so yea depends. Besides only an archie comic worm would understand the intricacies and aesthetics 😊
I really want to talk about this whole 'relatable' discourse. Why is everyone obsessed about characters being relatable to their reality. Do you really want to see only a 'yourself' version in every piece of content. Stories are meant to be from all sects of society. This sounds very dismissive. Does any common person relate to Succession and other 'rich people' drama? N isn't it interesting to watch a different sect of society and their reality. If the content is good, it should not really matter. I loved Gully boy and DDD both. This is the first Zoya Akhtar movie that disappointed me. And the lyrics are a little off.
Her photographs also wouldn’t get picked up! Oh well that’s true about Alia too but today they made her out to be a superstar and a lengendery actress inspite of her mediocrity
@@Besties591 absolutely. Alia is so darn mediocre. She has a "loudly crying/screaming" scene in every film to showcase her non existent "acting skills" and some dumbos buy it and PR makes it look like she's great smh
Film producers are willing to invest tens and hundreds of crores in sub-standard and downright disastrous movies and web series but will suddenly become poor when it comes to financing small budget, quality products.
Good review! A good, harmless one time watch and like you said, not something that will be revisited. Also it’s Mihir Ahuja, not Arora as you mentioned!
I found it enjoyable. Nit every movie should have so much agenda. Sometimes we need a coffee and popcorn and just watch a movie. Plus the cinematography was so so good.
Can Khushi Kapoor become a mainstream heroine like Shruthi Hassan and Jhanvi Kapoor or will she do a few art films like Akshara Hassan is my question!!!
They won’t need performances to get new roles. They already have 5 movies each being made. One by their mom, one by their dad, one by their uncles, and two by Karan Johar!!!!!
like you said the cinematography + production design was on point. like every single addition in the background from a tea cup to a curtain was beyond perfect. straight out of pinterest. in fact i found myself pausing the scenes to look at the dresses or the interior design multiple times. the rest of the film is almost forgettable. it is not as criminally bad as some of the almost painful films delivered by seasoned actors, it’s just meh.
Whenever there is a project like this, where nepotistic products(i am not rude, just didn't find another word) are launched together... it's a do or die bro.Either you skyrocket or you fell off only for you to learn from your mistakes and grow big..
The Bollywood reddit forums is filled with SRK PR team monitoring and deleting and banning every activity that portrays Suhana Khan negatively. Especially Suhana Khan.
Its very obvious that its a launch pad for 3 star kids what annoys me the most is that zoya akthar was bashing the media with full conviction for ignoring the other actors during the promotions and calling them out by " its your problem I can't help" after watching the film the other cast(vedang, mihir and dot) hardly gets any screen time and are completely non existence you can't even call there role even a cameo and many would not even remember them after watching the film sad.
Honestly first half was too boring but the portion of vedang raina and suhana on emotional scene are good, even when they flirt with each other their is some spark in their chemistry, it would be nice to having them more scene interacting each other. If You have seen the ten minutes short film of suhana in youtube, she was great and very nice to see. Here I feel the story is too poor and and had no scope to actually go in deep. As always you are right about both khushi had a spark in her eyes, agastya had naivety. But I was for waiting more 😢
At the risk of sounding like my neighbor auntie, I am saying this. Now that Zoya got her nazar out of the way, we can expect her to be back to what she does best. Make movies with insane rewatch value.
The dialogue delivery of nepo babies was very stiff suhana and khushi looked like they were forced to say something things a certain way and it showed agastya was also pretty awkward but not as bad as khushi and suhana vedang was good dot and mihir didn't got much stuff basically used as prop and yuvraj wasn't worth mentioning acting is not for him😅😅
The first half of jagga jasoos which was a great musical in my opinin proves that we can make very good musicals in bollywood but we have a tendancy to put a filter on everything we adapt from the west and just dilute the emotional depth and authenticity of the performance which just deteriorates the whole quality of the movie
The part that weirded me out was the fact that Archie appeared to be the most one dimensional character out of all and how his character had such little growth or even instances to shine, definitely weak storytelling on that front
It is like that even in the comics. I always find the side characters interesting in them - love Jughead more and like Betty too. Archie was always confused. One has to know the comics to find the film amusing...
Why didn't make it as a mini series.i mean archies have enough material .i mean in that way character could have more depth and then people can care and in that way may these new actor may have good talk in town
I could not help but compare the resemblance. Khushi Kapoor who sounds so much like Jhanvi and Agastya with features of Jr. AB.There were scenes where it looked like srk is sitting wearing a heavy eye makeup😂
i dont care about others but you guys must support DOT career, she is a Indie singer, and this is her 1st acting gig, she can big in thd future, she has talent!
Jammy was trying hard not to criticise the cast of nepo kids and Zoya akhtar because future mein unka interview bhi lena hai . Uspar hi ghar chalta hai bhai ka😅😂 alongside reviews. Shan parasher had a proper honest review this time without cuss words.
I liked the movie! It is a bit long but that’s bearable. The performances were actually good to me, loved the songs, the aesthetic (yes, I have read and loved the Archie comics) and the story was a coming of age film which is not for the entire Indian audience and that is fine. Niche movies should be made. Also I find it really funny that people find this film so unrealistic and not relatable but clapped and cheered for the violence and bloodshed of Animal. I have seen both films and I am making it clear that I enjoyed this one WAY MORE.
lol comparing this crap with the career best performance of Ranbir in Animal is insane, you do realize that masses do not like star kids especially who give shitty performances in shitty movies ?

I didn't have any expectations, and the outcome didn't surprise me. With a director like Zoya, it's disappointing how things went wrong. I think Zoya did not really understand the characters before portraying them or maybe the actors were just bad but I think the storyline had a bit of potential if they did it differently it would have been a pretty decent movie. In my opinion, this whole movie is just a debut for the whole Nepo kids

Agreed, riverdale s1 was bearable.
But if you look at the stories of archies comics, it's exactly this. A simple, feel good, teen spirit story with a lesson to learn. From that sense, the makers have stayed true to the comic's essence. When watching the movie, it honestly felt like reading one of archies comic's lengthier stories.
Bad
(I also struggled with the Riverdale series.)
Anyways, the movie exists and some people seem to like it.
But it is to date the most faithful adaptation
As to the debutants, it is unfortunate that too much media attention is given to these children of existing Stars.

The Archies is all about nostalgia of the simple days of childhood. I guess those who have been in their teens in the sixties can relate to it all the more. No mobile phones, no video games, only simple unstructured outdoor activities, family gigs and the fun of community living. Basically it's a poetry in motion.
But those people who were teen intheir 60s r 80 yr old +
Why would they even watch a movie
Omg couldn't have agreed more atleast it's more well put than my thoughts

Agree 100%
i liked the movie and the plot was good too! Being a sucker for romance, I was a bit disappointed that portion was not explored well but at the end when ronnie and betty confronted archie, that scene stole my heart because it was refreshing to see two girlfriends choosing their friendship over a guy❤❤
Overall I think this movie is good to watch when you just want to have a stress-free and peaceful experience!
hence the hallmark reference. A festival like surface level movie you never revisit
@@TriedRefusedProductions It is Christmas time - and the film aims to be that. Why judge it for what it is not aspiring to do - it is a Archies film based on the comics, nothing else.
Worst part is, that even someone as capable as Zoya Akhtar got sucked into this ride of horribly launching star kids.
There is movie ‘Hi pappa’ which is ‘Hi nanna’ in other languages which is a heartwarming tale of father and daughter, hearing great things about that film from my fnds also and trailer was good , but bad thing is it has very less buZz
watching it tomorrow. After the Fighter Teaser of course!!
It's released in multiple languages but i'd suggest you watch it in the original language Telugu( hi nanna) with subtitles.
vedang and mihir definitely stood out for me but at the same time, agastya's narration sounded convincing although during his scenes his expressions might be off. yuvraj and dot portrayed their parts well. khushi and suhana both were good in their dialogue delivery during their emotional scenes, however, the rest of the movie- they were quite stiff with the dialogues
Thank you for being honest and unbiased! Cant say the same for many other reviewers
If we can accept the idea of a summer camp somewhere in india for children with room for parents and love interests, grand parents along with a college where girls go around in short skirts, boys are skating, hostel rooms from a magazine in '98 from kkhh we certainly can accept this
I just watch your review and then decide whether to watch the film or not😊
Isn’t this movie streaming on Netflix?
Do you ready to watch it again and again.. 2, 3 times?
Just curious question
@@ek_prem_kathaa no chance of watching it again, once is enough
@@ek_prem_kathaaI can, on Christmas with popcorn, on 1st January with popcorn 🍿😁 it's breezy and cozy
Meanwhile me who's still waiting for a Champak adaptation 😂
Chacha choudhary too 😂
They should adapt Chanda mama comic. It has lot of medieval stories.
It's disappointing how people who can make fantastic adaptation of so many Indian novels, comic, short stories never do it instead keep making cheap knock off of west. 🙄
Cheeku Khargosh ❤
@@Vor567tez agreed, and Jataka tales too
@@haseenasheik8186 tarak mehta bollywood chutiyapa se bhut better tha 😂
And the lyrics are a little off.
its tiring at this point
Shan Prasher has given the answer to your 'relatable' debate

Suhana wouldn't even pass an audition if she wasn't srks daughter let alone be the main lead in a Zoya Akhtar film smh
@@anujoseph_10 I don't like mallu aunty movie😂
@@raja-jl9os nobody likes it. Your point being?
Is Shruti Hassan even doing movies currently?
Are Shruti and Janhvi mainstream heroines in the first place??😂
For me Kushi ws better than Jhanvi
"Movie looks like Wes Anderson but is it *too perfect* " is an amazing piece of criticism/concern-trolling. Gold stae at the mental gymnastics.
The Bollywood reddit forums is filled with SRK PR team monitoring and deleting and banning every activity that portrays Suhana Khan negatively. Especially Suhana Khan.
No-one cares about reddit. X , yeah.
Yeah dude cause a movie in the style of Bobby isn't "rewatchable" 😂😂
You can't root for someone if you can't relate to them.
Finally, someone who pointed out Vedang rainas performance 👏👏. Only one who evoked any emotions with his dialogues and scenes
@@brendonbuthello I just felt like Archie really didn’t leave any substantial impact as the titular character at all, but I do get what you’re saying
Loved the movie! Reggie was definitely a standout, overall loved the vibes. Hope we get a sequel
I am actually worried about who will get Pan Masala Best Debut award the competition is really tough
May the worst actor win

i dont care about others but you guys must support DOT career, she is a Indie singer, and this is her 1st acting gig, she can big in thd future, she has talent!
I have been waiting the whole day for your review 😌 now I'm releived 😊 thank you !!!!!!!
Frrrrrrr
I agree with you
Exactly, exactly !
We need to grow up from the mindset of thinking fairytale and happy endings are normal and the harsh reality of life as fairytale.
lol comparing this crap with the career best performance of Ranbir in Animal is insane, you do realize that masses do not like star kids especially who give shitty performances in shitty movies ?
