I'm from Canada and I got up at 4 am to watch Queen Elizabeth's funeral. It was when the Crown was taken from it's place on her coffin, that the end of her reign truly hit me. It was profoundly moving.
Yes. We watched live from my job in New York. I knew there would be interest, sympathy. But the absolute silence, respect and reflection I witnessed from my countrymen in a non-monarchal nation truly shocked me. A historic reign and send off. We will never witness another leader, elected or ordained with such massive global impact/recognition.
Same here. I dropped all plans to watch from Texas. She was a woman of great courage, empathy and dedication to her people. She was a shining example to us all over the world and beloved.

Oddly, I was alive in 7 decades of her reign. Which made me stop to think about parents and grandparents, and one great grandparent. My Nan (great grandma), and my Granny and Grandpa were born during the reign of Queen Victoria and my parents were born during Edward V and Edward VI.

Such a “take your breathe away” day. As a Canadian, sat down and just cried. She was the only Monarch that I had ever known. A flawless reign to be sure. Never forget.
She was not your monarch. You've never paid a cent to fund her. While you sponged like a parasite, the true British people paid to keep their monarch going. If you ACTUALLY cared for her and it's not just words, it's time for spongeing Canada to stump up the several billion they owe the British taxpayer in backpayments for keeping the monarchy going. Until then, she's no Queen of yours, scrounger.
I knew she was unwell, that the time was close and yet I cried. Her presence was so comforting even though I’m not British. I miss seeing her smile. RIP.
President Macron put it best. “To you she was your Queen, to us she was THE Queen”. I’m from a Commonwealth Realm. So she was our Queen too. I’ll remember her always as the greatest head of state and a woman of honour. She is very sadly missed.
Sympathy from the U.S. ❤ Will never forget how the Queen asked her Guards at Buckingham Palace to play the American National Anthem on 9/11, a gesture of solidarity and friendship. She is missed. 🇺🇸
I was so fortunate to have attended one of the Queen’s Garden Parties. It was beyond a magical time. When the Queen and Prince Philip stepped out onto the steps down to the garden we all went silent. She walked the line of attendees, chatting to us as she moved along. The reverence we felt was electric. She was wonderful! I’ll never forget what a wonderful, rare and special afternoon we had.
Wow! You were so lucky and fortunate to attend one of Her Majesty's grand garden parties!! I always thought how surreal and phenomenal it would be to go to one, and I love watching videos of ppl who have attended the garden part(y/ies)! You used the word "magical" to describe your experience and that's exactly how I imagined it would be!! RIP QEII ❤ 👑 👸 🕊️ 💐
She was queen for 70 of my 73 years. I’m American, the daughter of an English mom from Preston who came to US at age 7. England and your queen have always had a special place in my heart. Thank you DM for this wonderfully produced inside look at that sad day. Very thoughtful, poignant, respectful, and touching. I felt like I was at a church service I was so still listening to the stories. Thank you all so much. ❤😢❤
Above everything I remember from Her Majesty's death, I remember how Princess Ann stayed with the Queen the entire time. Such elegance and grace, but above everything a daughter stayed with her Mother.
One year ago today I was watching the BBC when suddenly the commentary stopped and the screen went black. I thought at first I had lost the connection but then realization struck and a few moments later the commentator reappeared to announce that our Queen had died. Even now I still get emotional watching this video. 😢🇨🇦
One day before the Queen died, I had this weird vision of Woody.EXE making me Queen of Wales and 24 hours later, our reign becomes official. It was a very strange time for both of us
I also started listening actually- no tv- all on radio- the Royals- the queens marriage, her Father’s death- and her Coronation when I was very young in the 1950s - and our family had to get up very early in the morning- 6:00 am to hear their ceremonies- oh and our background was not English-my father immigrated to Canada from Ukraine in 1928
I remember during the pandemic when she made her speech of we will be together again. I live on my own, and was having to go out every day to visit people in their homes, as part of my job with the NHS. I could not see my family and the mental stress was immense. But her speech felt like she was talking to me personally, and I believed her when she said we would meet again. I felt like I lost an honorary Grandmother when she died.
The moment it was announced that she passed, I cried. I am not from Britain but like so many others did not know a life without her. Though I felt for a while before her passing that it was imminent, it still came as a shock. I am sure she had health issues the public were not made aware of but it was also evident that since Prince Philip's passing and with a lot of unnecessary family drama around her, she showed signs of a rapid decline. I am proud that it was in my country, South Africa, that she promised a life of servitude. A promise she kept for decades and until the day she passed. May she rest in peace, which sadly I think she was not afforded during her last years.
I’m also from South Africa and haven’t known life without the Queen. What a life of sacrifice so noble in her duties and a wonderful role model….. She has left a huge gap in all of our lives !
My own mother passed in 2021 at 96 and many said she looked like the Queen. I thought so as well. I have known Queen Elizabeth my entire life and will miss her for the rest of it.
the people crying over the queen are the same people who came out to denounce the queen for not crying enough over Diana in her coffin, its all a load off media spin hype and garbage . she didn't have the ability to even understand what normal people were she was a product off the1920sgoing on 1900s she wasn't cozy she was a distant mother to Charles .
The enormous public show of love at the Jubilee was beautiful. I cannot help but think it was a small comfort at the end to know that one’s lifetime of work was of value to so many.
I’m an American but I will always miss Queen Elizabeth. I was in elementary school when I saw Elizabeth’s coronation, I grew up with her as Queen. I will miss her smile, voice and her common sense. I feel like I’ve lost another member of my family. 😢 She truly was the world’s greatest diplomat. We’ve lost a clear thinking human being from our world.
Funny you mention the coronation. My late american mother (who came to spend her life abroad) was a school girl at the coronation in 1953. She and her classmates were told to stay home from school and watch the coronation in the television (and invite friends who didn't have a tv-set). Because it was historic and, as their teacher said: "It may be a once in a lifetime experience". My mother passed away 2021 and remembered and cherished the memory of the coronation day for the rest of her life.
I remember being at work in Chicago and seeing the announcement online. Others in the office were hearing the news and it felt imperative to speak it out loud - even though she was not our Queen. The world felt different in that moment - the way it feels when you lose a beloved parent. She was on top of a very short list of world figures who stood for integrity and honor - and as the list gets smaller, the growing void is palpable. A great lady indeed - RIP Your Majesty.
Teresa that’s one of the most eloquent comments I have ever read on a UA-cam thread and it’s much appreciated. I have family in Chicago it’s an amazing city my best wishes to you.
It happened at a very different time of day for us Aussies. I sent my mum a message very late at night saying The Queen was not well by the time we woke up she was gone.😭 RIP our amazing Queen
I'm an American who lives in the middle of the U.S. I went to work (home health care) knowing Her Majesty was most likely on her death bed. News came on my phone at 12:30 Central Standard Time. I started crying and immediately told my client that Her Majesty had died. Then we were both in tears. RIP Queen Elizabeth.
Im British I think everyone knew she was declining after Prince Philip died. But didn’t want to say her last appearance on the balcony looking back she knew it was her last appearance. But still was a shock when she left us
I was listening to the radio in my car at around 3:10 to 3:20 pm utc-5, or eastern standard U.S. time, when, after the song finished, the DJ came on and I had managed to catch the words of her passing. And, I was like "wait what ?😳", and looked her up, and sure enough, over on Wikipedia it mentioned about the date of her passing.
She was incomparable. I cried when she died and again a tear fell just watching this. She was the world's grandmother. As an American we never had a steady rock in our country to lean on through the years such as the Queen. I believe she will go down in history as the greatest monarch that ever lived.
That line from HMTQ’s COVID speech always makes me emotional. When she says, “we will be with our families again, we will be with our friends again, we will meet at again” it still makes me well up. What a remarkable woman!
The Queen described Prince Philip as her strength and stay, she was Britains strength and stay, the constant, the loadstar, and whilst no one is immortal the Queens passing created a seismic shift, a shock wave that in minutes circumnavigated the World. I was lucky enough to speak very briefly with her a few years ago, tiny in stature, huge in presence with a smile that could light up a room. Truly Happy and Glorious that day
I am from South Africa and I thought she was a great leader. She had so many heartache to overcome during her life. Never complain never explain. I loved her 😢
One of my favourite stories is about Mr Mandela, who called her Elizabeth on the phone, and when his grand-daughter said you can't do that, he replied "Why not, it's her name" :)
A person lady 😂😂😂 she was literally the most impersonal person on the entire planet. Completely unapproachable in every sense of the word. You people are off your rockers 🤦🏼♀️
i don't i live in the UK but if you want to dig her up and transport her to a museum in America that would be absolutely ok . perhaps ask the right wing uk government who also sell off everything that is British water transport the land beneath peoples feet to other country's so pack her up and ship her over .

When you wrote this, and you pressed " Comment", did you feel that dopamine hit? You felt the pain of a small portion of the British people, and somehow you had a deep connection with an old woman, whom you have never met, nor talked with, nor do you actually know anything about this old woman. But yes, you wanted that dopamine hit.
@@MeAndTheBoys_ Small portion? Did you see the queue to pay respect to the Queen at Westminster Abbey? Or the congregation at Buckingham Palace that night? At the time the Queen died more than 80% of British people supported the monarchy. What a small portion.
I may be an American, but my grandfather was a Brit thru and thru...and well I remember her portrait in a place of honor in his library. She was a woman of steely resolve, and unexpected humor. To me, she was the epitome of what lady was, and what a queen should be.
Wow, has it been a year already since her passing? She was one of the most iconic world leaders in my lifetime. May you rest in peace, Your Majesty.....
The moment she passed I sat in my kitchen all day and cried. Even the next morning I was trying to get ready for my day and would burst into tears. I remember casually trying to talk to my dad on the phone and just started crying. I'm from the US but have Scottish and English descent and my entire childhood I have always looked up to her Majesty as a role model. I'm so happy I was on Earth when the Queen was here. She was truly a calming consistency - a figure who has always been there in this crazy world. This October I'm going to England and plan to stay at Windsor. I can't wait to see an area that she resided at.
This still hits hard and has made me cry, I miss her wisdom and humor. That day I was so shocked I cried with my mom. She was the best, we’ll not have a true Queen unless George’s first born is a daughter. She was always a lady, a very missed, beloved one 😢
Sounds like you knew her personally? Grow up and stop being an idiot, she was in her 90s, death is as natural as birth AND, no one in the royal family will be crying for you when you die. You need a reality check
I can’t believe how bad Harry andMeghan treated our late Queen Harry you broke your grandmother’s heart what you and your wife did to our Queen i will never forgive you
It has struck me that Prince William and the rest of the family on that plane must have been so upset with harry they waited for him and the Queen passed before they got there . Typical of him and her as we have seen since she passed.
Her Majesty leaves a profound impression of resolution and warmth across the globe. How we wish it could continue. It was like loosing my grandmother and I never even met her . The gravitas is the late Queen was beyond comprehension . A super diplomat and respected by everyone other than those with huge chips on their shoulder and immature revolutionaries.
What I loved most about Queen Elizabeth II was her smile. She had one of the most beautiful smiles=would light out any space she occupied. Rest in Peace!
RIP your Majesty. Shedding tears for you again. Still so angry at the situation with one of your grandchildren, but I won't name him anymore. He deserves to be forgotten
What a remarkable woman she was. Truly one constant thing In the world for almost 100 years was her presence. I’m young (17) and remember learning everything about her and people older than me telling me what they remember when they were young. Having seen even a small part of her reign was truly amazing to be in that moment of history even as an American. I remember when the announcement came she had died, I was in a German class and we kind of all just paused. Then the rest of the day kind of felt different. RIP to an amazing woman and F those who were happy she died.
Very moving video, especially the clip of the Queen’s speech at the end. It’s strange how knowing so much about her life & reign made her feel familiar & her passing more impactful despite the fact I’m American. How lucky you all were to be Elizabethans.
Oh I remember this day. I heard the news that she was not doing well and I was sitting at home and I just knew that she was leaving us. I prayed otherwise but I knew it was coming. It is hard to believe that it has been a year already. She was such a lady of class. And Charles has done her proud. RIP Your Majesty!
I am an American, but my paternal grandmother instilled in me a deep respect for the Queen, and her family. I was allowed to stay up to catch His Majesty's (that still.seems strange to me) investiture as Prince of Wales. When news broke over here of her passing, I cried and cried. It was like a gut punch. I still cry. I was born 2 years after her crowning. She was the only monarch I knew. And watching His Majesty, publicly, going through his mourning, was heart wrenching. May all of the blessings reserved for the RF be many and magnificent! Requiem in Pace, Your Majesty. We all miss you more than we can express.
It was my and my husband's 21st wedding anniversary and the news came very early in the morning in Australia. It was like losing my grandmother all over again. She was fantastic! So very loyal, stoic and dedicated to her duty. We all loved her and we all miss her dearly.
Did the queen have a soul? How can you see into the queens "soul" ? Was the queen's soul actually even beautiful? Crying publically after a complete stranger, someone who lived in luxury all her life, and mingled with her subjects a few times a year, shaking a few hands. Oh yes, im convinced! 🤣✌
And now Charles has cancer a year later. I’m fearing the worst now because I’ve had a few nightmares about the news randomly on air and the worst happened
I miss her terribly, and not even a full 2 days later I lost my own grandmother. I will always and forever miss them both as they are and always will be an internal light to my soul. Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth II

As a Canadian and member of the commonwealth, I was saddened by her loss. I was only 33 and therefore had only ever known Our Queen. My students and I watched her funeral service, i made sure they saw the end, where she was placed in the floor of Westminster. This was history. Flags all over Canada went to half mast and they lit up Ottawa (our capital) for her. The legions across Canada placed black covers over her picture. Gun salutes went off. And the CBC ran memorials. She remains on our money and there are many schools, charities, roads all named for her.

When i think of the trauma and stress that Harry and MM caused her Majesty in her final years i can not think of anyone being so cruel and selfish. He fighting with the family to get his wife to Balmoral was atrocious. That made the family delay their arrival, and if it hadnt been for that, they could have been with her as she passed. Now, one year on, Harry and MM are trying to grab attention away from this anniversary of her passing, with their self indulgence and narcissism. I wish the press would just totally ignore them and give them no oxygen! We celebrate the magnificent reign of the late Queen and miss her every day. My thoughts go to her loving family. 🙏❤️
Harry and Meghan weren't liked by the family because they came out with what went on behind closed doors.. And I'm sure the Queen has had alot more stress with worse things during her reign than what they were saying. Did Harry have a gun to Williams head not to go ahead to see his mom. Fool.
The only Queen of the UK I had ever known since I was born, and I honestly thought Her Majesty would outlive me. Such a wonderful, remarkable person, and the world is far poorer without her presence. May Her Majesty continue to rest in peace, joined with her dear husband, Prince Philip.

Always THE QUEEN!!!!! And forever missed and loved for her complete elegance and class and beauty❤❤

Will never forget how the Queen asked her Guards at Buckingham Palace to play the American National Anthem on 9/11, a gesture of solidarity and friendship.

There will never be another monarch with the beauty, grace, and poise of Queen Elizabeth II. She will missed world wide.
I’ll never forget what a wonderful, rare and special afternoon we had.
lucky you, to have that privilege, & wonderful memories, blessings!
I remember the Coronation. I was 7 years old and we had 3 days off scho0l.

Above everything I remember from Her Majesty's death, I remember how Princess Ann stayed with the Queen the entire time. Such elegance and grace, but above everything a daughter stayed with her Mother.
❤😭😭🙏💪 Anne the best daughter in the world . She stayed with her to the very end 💔🙏
It was the greatest "réconfort" to me knowing Pr. Anne was with her. Love her.
That is what got me, too.. the love of a daughter taking care of her mother..
Given the opportunity, ANY daughter who loved her mother, would want to be there for the final moments of life.
The most loyal daughter anyone could ever ask for!
It was a very strange time for both of us
All respect to an extraordinary woman , diplomat of peace, irrefutable integrity, resilient and incredibly intelligent. May she rest in peace.
Beautiful post. 🫡
Absolutely agree
I also started listening actually- no tv- all on radio- the Royals- the queens marriage, her Father’s death- and her Coronation when I was very young in the 1950s - and our family had to get up very early in the morning- 6:00 am to hear their ceremonies- oh and our background was not English-my father immigrated to Canada from Ukraine in 1928
💯
😂 remind who her friends were that she knighted again, Jimmy Savile, Rolf Harris Stuart hall ?? 🤔 bit of a pattern there
I remember during the pandemic when she made her speech of we will be together again.
Beautifully said ❤
The Oscar is in the post any day from now.

She truly was the world’s greatest diplomat.
I still got goosebump watching this video. Born in British Hong Kong, she was my Queen all my life and still is.
She kept her duties till death she is how amazing
I remember being at work in Chicago and seeing the announcement online. Others in the office were hearing the news and it felt imperative to speak it out loud - even though she was not our Queen. The world felt different in that moment - the way it feels when you lose a beloved parent. She was on top of a very short list of world figures who stood for integrity and honor - and as the list gets smaller, the growing void is palpable. A great lady indeed - RIP Your Majesty.
So well said.

She is truly missed. The world seems different. Rest in peace Your Majesty.
@leoniemary3850 Yes, the world seemed to change that day. Just rewatching this brought tears.

As she so famously said on 9/11, "Grief is the price we pay for love."
This still hits hard and has made me cry, I miss her wisdom and humor. That day I was so shocked I cried with my mom. She was the best, we’ll not have a true Queen unless George’s first born is a daughter. She was always a lady, a very missed, beloved one 😢

What a remarkable woman she was. Truly one constant thing In the world for almost 100 years was her presence. I’m young (17) and remember learning everything about her and people older than me telling me what they remember when they were young.
