Charles bombarded her with his insistence she do it, she, knowing how she had failed him as a mother and hoping if she gave him his way would save the monarchy for the future of her entire family conceded and did it. Exactly! Especially after having heard horrible stories from your mother about the new step-parent. It took us years to come to a place of respect and love, through some really rough times and situations, but my step-mother and I developed a deep understanding and a deep love for one another through our mutual love of my father. IMO, that is where William and Camilla are now.

The Middletons & especially his wife have had a huge influence on how William has reconciled himself to Camilla I think. I think Catherine is a steady, sensible & calming presence in his life & her kindness, generosity of spirit & commonsense approach to life has helped William form his attitude to Camilla. Combined with his love for his Father & his own maturity as he parents his children has broadened his outlook & given him more tolerance & understanding of others points of view.
William has been very mature from early age and came along with Camilla. Willam knew his mother, her mental status and her countless lovers and adultery during the marriage. He was the one who had to listen her stories. When Camilla&Charles' marriages got blessing in the church, the boys where interviewed and Harry said that they love her in pieces, and they also decorated the car the couple used for driving away. Harry's "memories" changed only after Meghan became part of his life. Even Diana said positive comments on Camilla and her way to treat the boys in her late years.

I agree and I feel I must remind people that especially before Catherine’s wedding the press ran a lot of stories often said to be from Camilla’s friends about her not wanting to wear a tiara , not taking advise etc . Whatever I think of Camilla in the Diana days, (or Charles in the Diana days) I do think she's a good wife (from what I read online, to be honest) to Charles, and she makes him happy. At the end of the day, she makes Charles happy, and I have to think that's a good thing. I think Diana was a horribly difficult wife to Charles, and that he may not have been wonderful to her. But making Charles happy NOW is a good thing, and Harry needs to pull up his Big Boy pants and move on.

According to Wendy Berry who wrote The Housekeeper's Diary, Diana used the boys like so many divorcing parents as weapons against their the other parent. Listening to a review of the book on ocassions her behaviour was appalling. Wasn't there some footage of Harry smashing a large handful of confetti over his fathers head, in a rather violent manner, after the marriage ceremony for Charles and Camilla? It seems, at least in Harry's case, the boys were more resentful than their apparent ease about the marriage. It is wonderful, however to see how William has grown and matured within these difficult relationships. It puts in stark contract Harry's regression into bitterness and malignancy since Meghan became such a big influence in his life.
Time and time again, the attitude of the wife (or husband) can play a huge role in the way a man treats any problems within his original family. It says a lot about the personalities of Catherine and Meghan.

Actually, it is easy to find one photo (bad lighting, someone sneezing or looking down or away) that can be used to claim anything. I am pretty sure I could look through your photo album and find at least one photo in which I could make up quite a story. I could claim you looked sad and your husband was staring at his mistress across the room. Really, it is easy to do this. It takes many, many photos, a long with other reputable sources, to create an accurate picture of a situation. I have seen this happen most recently with the memorial service. Catherine looked great most of the time, but the press found one photo in which she looked older and tired. One person remarked that is due to the lighting on the balcony. Either way, this ONE PHOTO was used to start a controversy. This jumping to conclusions based on photo analysis is simply wrong.

I've always been known as a good two-shoes, but after my dad had died I finally let my sister have it about how awful she and my nieces treated daddy. All he wanted was to be close with them, but they made it difficult. So it felt good to get it all out! My sis was like, Rachel Elizabeth if daddy were here he’d wash you're mouth out with soap. I just simply replied, “I'm just doing what he wanted telling you off and it felt good!”

Diana came into the marriage damaged by her own family, and she would have been difficult to live with. She knew how to use her image to portray herself as victim. Charles didnt have it easy. The press helped create a one-sided narrative that made Charles look cold and heartless...this was never the case. Camilla was always the love of Charles life and they ought to have been allowed to marry in the first place. Yes. I’ve always thought the heartless Charles thing was an object lesson in the power of the media. Charles is not a perfect human, no one is, but you only have to know a very little about him to see he’s all heart and sensitivity and a truly good man.

diana was badly affected from her childhood, her father was a bastard, violent towards her mother, and he threw her out, diana and her younger brother did not see there mother for some time, this all affected how she coped in adulthood, all very sad. she would never mentally managed being queen
spot on Harry did open a can of worms. I, too, adored Diana even when I knew she also played a major role in how the marriage went wrong. A woman who cheated with not one man but 8 or more obviously has issues. But I still have a soft spot for her and am willing to try to understand her issues. But now that Harry reminded us of the past, it all came back. Diana may look innocent, but she is no angel. She was manipulative and played with the media to be on her side, constantly reminding the boys and the world that their father was not fit to be King. That must've been really tough for the boys. The repercussions of her behavior have affected the boys, mostly Harry. As mentioned, William had a tough time with his father too, but thank goodness he had a strong woman by his side. There is no doubt that the boys had a hard time with accepting Camilla at first. I truly think that William, as he matured, accepted that fact that his father needed to be happy and he knew deep down that Camilla was that person. She has been shown by many to be a deeply caring, compassionate person who would want all of the family to get along. She, after all, knew what Charles's destiny was and she also knew that she was his ultimate confidant and guide. I think shortly after Charles and Camilla married, William saw that too. Harry on the other hand would never ever and will never accept anyone in the role of "a wife for his father" except his own mother. He has not moved passed his mother being gone and has used it time and time again for his rude, crude, even hatefilled comments about his own immediate family. He has never grown up. William, not Prince of Wales has moved on and has seen is own wife, the Princess of Wales been lied about and criticized by his own brother, something that he will not tolerate or should he be expected to. I truly believe that Prince William, Catherine, and the rest of the Royal Family has accepted Camilla and found her to be, in the words of Queen Elizabeth the II, "his strength and stay". The now Queen, Camilla was valued by Queen Elizabeth and that is why before her death, she made sure that Camilla's title would be Queen Consort. William is very very much like both his Grandmother, with his deep sense of duty and never complain, never explain kind of attitude AND, his Grandfather's sense of fun and frankness when it comes to things. He doesn't suffer fools lightly. He has been taught well by the late Queen AND his Father about duty, honor, and country. The Princes of Wales is on the same page and don't forget, Queen Camilla took Catherine under her wing right before Catherine married William and they became great friends. I am happy that Charles and Camilla FINALLY were able to get together and truly love one another the way they should have been allowed to do decades before. Diana, though she was beautiful and caring to people, was not suited to royal life and she had many faults of her own that people overlook. Infidelity on her own part being one of them. She felt lonely and sought attention elsewhere and I truly believe she did it before Charles started paying a lot of attention to Camilla again. He really tried to make it work out until it became obvious that it wouldn't. Diana was a drama queen (she threw herself down a flight of stairs while pregnant with William b/c she didn't think she was getting enough attention from her husband). People forget that.

Anyone who has critical thinking skills would understand that Charles and Diana’s marriage failed wasn’t because of Camellia. It would be a different woman with whom Charles was compatible even without camellia. Diana’s famous saying about the 3 person Diana referred to in her marriage with Charles was their Nanny Tiggy at the time of the infamous interview with martin bashir. It’s proven in her letter accusing Charles would kill her in order to marry Tiggy. William is a very intelligent person and has great EQ. Now he has his own successful marriage and he has a better understanding of what makes a good relationship and marriage. He understands what caused his parents’ marriage breakdown.
I do wish you would stop quoting Harry’s book Spare as if what he is saying is confirmed fact. There is ample evidence Harry is ‘remembering to support his current position’. William understood what was happening between his parents. Unlike his younger brother Harry, who often appeared more naive, William didn’t take everything his mother said as absolute truth. He could see that his father was genuinely happier with Camilla. While Harry might criticize her in his book, William-like his grandmother-recognized Camilla’s role in supporting Charles rather than competing with him. He sees her for what she is: a woman his father deeply loves and respects. Camilla has also shown her supportive nature within the family, even helping Catherine adjust when she first joined. She understands how to support William as he steps into his evolving role, especially during such a challenging year with both Charles and Catherine facing cancer diagnoses.

As she is the King's consort. As such her title is Queen. All King's wives are known as consorts that's their role, but their title is simply Queen. This is what the late Queen meant for Camilla, the same as her mother before her, Queen Mary and Alexandra too. All were Queen Consorts.

The wives of a reigning monarch are referred to as Queen consort while the title “queen” refers to a woman who has ascended the throne or is reigning regent. There is definitely a difference between the two. 🥰. This was a distinction queen Elizabeth (Queen consort) made but Charles changed (to queen).

It wasn't quite a fit over a pen, it was annoyance. He had just lost his mother and had no time to grieve, so don't underestimate the stress he was under. He had to carry on the Royal duties immediately after her passing have some compassion.

Re the boys feelings of difficulty re Camilla lingering at the time of her marriage to Charles you say ‘We know it did from Harry’s memoires’ - Richard that is hardly proof of anything, we know full well that half of Harry’s recollections and the spin he puts upon them are distorted even the ones that aren’t downright lies.

We had anger and hurt when we divorced years and y ears ago but his second wife...we are very much good friends. William was always known to have a temper, but Harry had the stubborn tantrums too (still does). Catherine, and her family, have been a huge influence on William too, he loved being with them when he was younger and is very comfortable in their presence too. It's nice to see how they have grown up and accepted Camilla, she has made Charles much happier than he ever was. Like all mixed families, Diana will always be the boys Mother, but accepting Camilla was paramount to all their lives, not forgetting Camilla's children too.

The in itself would cause 'jealousy'. Harry was also very jealous of William, not because he would be King one day, but because William looked so much like his Mother and had he mannerisms too. He even mentioned on a talk show that William doesn't look like their Mother now. I would say he probably does, because she would be in her 60's now so not the same face that Harry sees in his mind.
H’s book is not factual. So sad to use it as a real reference. Why not choose some writers who are independent that have interviewed many to be fair as possible instead of a highly mean spirited man . QEII worked so hard to build a better country and future while journalists are giving such a high platform to tear it apart.

As a child of divorced parents, it took time to acknowledge step-parents. I can't imagine doing that on a global stage where everyone is watching.
Exactly! Especially after having heard horrible stories from your mother about the new step-parent. It took us years to come to a place of respect and love, through some really rough times and situations, but my step-mother and I developed a deep understanding and a deep love for one another through our mutual love of my father. IMO, that is where William and Camilla are now.

The Middletons & especially his wife have had a huge influence on how William has reconciled himself to Camilla I think. I think Catherine is a steady, sensible & calming presence in his life & her kindness, generosity of spirit & commonsense approach to life has helped William form his attitude to Camilla. Combined with his love for his Father & his own maturity as he parents his children has broadened his outlook & given him more tolerance & understanding of others points of view.
William has been very mature from early age and came along with Camilla. Willam knew his mother, her mental status and her countless lovers and adultery during the marriage. He was the one who had to listen her stories.
When Camilla&Charles' marriages got blessing in the church, the boys where interviewed and Harry said that they love her in pieces, and they also decorated the car the couple used for driving away. Harry's "memories" changed only after Meghan became part of his life.
Even Diana said positive comments on Camilla and her way to treat the boys in her late years.

Whatever I think of Camilla in the Diana days, (or Charles in the Diana days) I do think she's a good wife (from what I read online, to be honest) to Charles, and she makes him happy. At the end of the day, she makes Charles happy, and I have to think that's a good thing. I think Diana was a horribly difficult wife to Charles, and that he may not have been wonderful to her. But making Charles happy NOW is a good thing, and Harry needs to pull up his Big Boy pants and move on.

Wasn't there some footage of Harry smashing a large handful of confetti over his fathers head, in a rather violent manner, after the marriage ceremony for Charles and Camilla? It seems, at least in Harry's case, the boys were more resentful than their apparent ease about the marriage. It is wonderful, however to see how William has grown and matured within these difficult relationships. It puts in stark contract Harry's regression into bitterness and malignancy since Meghan became such a big influence in his life.
Time and time again, the attitude of the wife (or husband) can play a huge role in the way a man treats any problems within his original family. It says a lot about the personalities of Catherine and Meghan.

Actually, it is easy to find one photo (bad lighting, someone sneezing or looking down or away) that can be used to claim anything. I am pretty sure I could look through your photo album and find at least one photo in which I could make up quite a story. I could claim you looked sad and your husband was staring at his mistress across the room. Really, it is easy to do this. It takes many, many photos, a long with other reputable sources, to create an accurate picture of a situation.
I have seen this happen most recently with the memorial service. Catherine looked great most of the time, but the press found one photo in which she looked older and tired. One person remarked that is due to the lighting on the balcony. Either way, this ONE PHOTO was used to start a controversy.
This jumping to conclusions based on photo analysis is simply wrong.

Diana came into the marriage damaged by her own family, and she would have been difficult to live with. She knew how to use her image to portray herself as victim. Charles didnt have it easy. The press helped create a one-sided narrative that made Charles look cold and heartless...this was never the case. Camilla was always the love of Charles life and they ought to have been allowed to marry in the first place. There is no doubt that the boys had a hard time with accepting Camilla at first. I truly think that William, as he matured, accepted that fact that his father needed to be happy and he knew deep down that Camilla was that person. She has been shown by many to be a deeply caring, compassionate person who would want all of the family to get along. She, after all, knew what Charles's destiny was and she also knew that she was his ultimate confidant and guide. I think shortly after Charles and Camilla married, William saw that too. Harry on the other hand would never ever and will never accept anyone in the role of "a wife for his father" except his own mother. He has not moved passed his mother being gone and has used it time and time again for his rude, crude, even hatefilled comments about his own immediate family. He has never grown up. William, not Prince of Wales has moved on and has seen is own wife, the Princess of Wales been lied about and criticized by his own brother, something that he will not tolerate or should he be expected to. I truly believe that Prince William, Catherine, and the rest of the Royal Family has accepted Camilla and found her to be, in the words of Queen Elizabeth the II, "his strength and stay". The now Queen, Camilla was valued by Queen Elizabeth and that is why before her death, she made sure that Camilla's title would be Queen Consort. William is very very much like both his Grandmother, with his deep sense of duty and never complain, never explain kind of attitude AND, his Grandfather's sense of fun and frankness when it comes to things. He doesn't suffer fools lightly. He has been taught well by the late Queen AND his Father about duty, honor, and country. The Princes of Wales is on the same page and don't forget, Queen Camilla took Catherine under her wing right before Catherine married William and they became great friends. I am happy that Charles and Camilla FINALLY were able to get together and truly love one another the way they should have been allowed to do decades before. Diana, though she was beautiful and caring to people, was not suited to royal life and she had many faults of her own that people overlook. Infidelity on her own part being one of them. She felt lonely and sought attention elsewhere and I truly believe she did it before Charles started paying a lot of attention to Camilla again. He really tried to make it work out until it became obvious that it wouldn't. Anyone who has critical thinking skills would understand that Charles and Diana’s marriage failed wasn’t because of Camellia. It would be a different woman with whom Charles was compatible even without camellia.
Diana’s famous saying about the 3 person Diana referred to in her marriage with Charles was their Nanny Tiggy at the time of the infamous interview with martin bashir. It’s proven in her letter accusing Charles would kill her in order to marry Tiggy.
William is a very intelligent person and has great EQ. Now he has his own successful marriage and he has a better understanding of what makes a good relationship and marriage. He understands what caused his parents’ marriage breakdown.
I do wish you would stop quoting Harry’s book Spare as if what he is saying is confirmed fact. There is ample evidence Harry is ‘remembering to support his current position’. As she is the King's consort. As such her title is Queen. All King's wives are known as consorts that's their role, but their title is simply Queen. This is what the late Queen meant for Camilla, the same as her mother before her, Queen Mary and Alexandra too. All were Queen Consorts.
@ I believe there is a distinction between the two titles. The wives of a reigning monarch are referred to as Queen consort while the title “queen” refers to a woman who has ascended the throne or is reigning regent. There is definitely a difference between the two. 🥰. This was a distinction queen Elizabeth (Queen consort) made but Charles changed (to queen).

It wasn't quite a fit over a pen, it was annoyance. He had just lost his mother and had no time to grieve, so don't underestimate the stress he was under. He had to carry on the Royal duties immediately after her passing have some compassion.

We had anger and hurt when we divorced years and y ears ago but his second wife...we are very much good friends. People can love if they throw away their hate and anger and quit trying to destroy people.

Great post. However, commenting to encourage you to use great caution before using Harry's Spare as a reliable source, but see others have already commented this. (I'm not even sure it's a realiable source for Harry's thoughts - let alone William - except as his sensationalistic and hyperbolic "story" at that moment.)

A Camila hit piece
William was always known to have a temper, but Harry had the stubborn tantrums too (still does). Catherine, and her family, have been a huge influence on William too, he loved being with them when he was younger and is very comfortable in their presence too. It's nice to see how they have grown up and accepted Camilla, she has made Charles much happier than he ever was. Like all mixed families, Diana will always be the boys Mother, but accepting Camilla was paramount to all their lives, not forgetting Camilla's children too.

Charles was not present when she sees her children she shouldnt have been present when harry flew over just to see his I'll father . Camilla who has never got to know popular harry . William has always been jealous of harry .
If charles dies before camilla all charles siblings are worried about her promoting her family again but when william is king camilla is so unpopular that william though looking I'll himself will stop her

@@annefenelon5492 William and Harry led different lives growing up. William always had to 'learn to be a Monarch one day' but Harry didn't, so he had much more freedom than William. The in itself would cause 'jealousy'. Harry was also very jealous of William, not because he would be King one day, but because William looked so much like his Mother and had he mannerisms too. He even mentioned on a talk show that William doesn't look like their Mother now. I would say he probably does, because she would be in her 60's now so not the same face that Harry sees in his mind.
H’s book is not factual. So sad to use it as a real reference. Why not choose some writers who are independent that have interviewed many to be fair as possible instead of a highly mean spirited man . QEII worked so hard to build a better country and future while journalists are giving such a high platform to tear it apart.
