I really enjoyed your lesson. Stevie Wonder’s music is so rarely taught in guitar videos. I really appreciate your taking the time to introduce jazz voicings into the lesson. Think’s so much!
As I search for intelligent lessons that incorporate some theory along the way, I really enjoyed this tutorial. I’ve been a life long musician/guitarist and you’ve done yourself proud. I’ll share this with others as my performing days are behind me but I still have old students that will ask questions about chord voicing and resolutions. Stevie Wonder is and always will be a National Treasure for all. Your video was well crafted. If I could pick your brain on the production aspects, I might be able to teach and share again through this type of medium. Keep up the good work. ✌️💙😎🎼
In 10 days, I’ll turn 64. I mention that, because I have been a fanatic of Stevie since forever ago. As a teen, his poster was the only poster on my bedroom wall. I am a female - strictly acoustic guitarist. I do not read music (I read Tab at best) and I’ve acquired a few Stevie fake books along the years. His chord progressions are indeed beautiful and you’re right, his choices are colorful and un-ordinary. This is why I admire him so. I stumbled on your video tonight and of course, was captured by the subject I was about to watch. I’ve said all this when really, all I came to say was thank you for featuring an artist rarely covered by a guitar focus and to really thank you for being such an excellent teacher! I am your newest subscriber. Blessings be yours.
Ayla is the scariest person on UA-cam. So pretty, sweet...such a soothing voice. Then she starts playing and you realize she's a MONSTER! Such an incredible talent. And I love that green guitar!
Love your lessons Ayla. You are way beyond your years. Stevie is one of the greatest musicians in modern music for sure and this lesson hits the mark !
I may be watching a guitar instructor, but I feel like I'm listening to an extremely chilled spiritual guru dropping some heavy wisdom and hard rhythms
I don't understand how you are so knowledgeable and worldly at what appears to be such a young age... This was fun to watch and strum along to. You are a gifted teacher!
Humans are capable of absorbing and learning a lot more at a younger age than beer drinkers can imagine. I taught myself all of this and more by getting my hands on music theory books in 7th grade. My 2 year old can hear an A pitch and name it. Humans are just like computers booting up and having software installed. What you are exposed to in the first 5-6 years of life (the first 2 are especially important), wires your brain to perceive and excel at those things because the brain considers early stimulus important and essential for life. I don’t play simple nursery songs for my kid, I play complex music. He loves it and gets it. Kids are extremely adept at learning and they absorb knowledge like a sponge.
This lesson was beyond amazing! I have always been fascinated by Stevie and how he writes such wonderful crazy songs that sometimes wouldn’t seem able to be brought together but he does it so perfectly that it works. This video was excellent for uncovering his incredible songs and I look forward to now learning more about his music, thank you again Ayla and the whole Guitareo team!
You’re fabulous! I’m sending this link to my drummer/partner 😊 Your charming, musical articulations of the Harmonized Major Scale, and the ii V I cadence are brilliant and accessible. Unlike my bossy, schoolmarm lecture 🤭
I am getting more into what Stevie did, as I finally learn theory. Because he has a combination of theory and good sense of harmony and melody. Whatever you do, it is better to be a song, than just a backing track.
Thank you, Ayla, for relaying this essential Stevie approach...the intro to "You are the sunshine of my life" with the harmonized whole tone scale is another one of his signature sounds...lots to listen to
It is refreshing to see your simple yet effective approach to creating content without the use of all the unnecessary jazz that’s typically seen in UA-cam videos. All the best 👍🏻
My uncle showed me a Stevie wonder song . His fingers looked like they were broken and double and triple jointed . Needless to say , I was amazed , but since I have big chunky fat fingers I just capitulated and went back to learning Van Halen solos.
I liked the base part. I do indeed try to put base in country or reggae, but jazz is still something I'm scratching the surface with.I appreciate , as a guitar player the Stevie Wonder Lesson.
Another super helpful lesson. I'm self taught and find it really hard to find people I can absorb information from. This video as well as a few of your others have helped me work a few things out that I've been struggling with. Thanks again and keep it up!!
My Brain hurts .. LOL but seriously a Gr8 lesson .. intimately played with just your fingers ( no Pick ) & a lovely smooth sound .. very classy . I love the story 's that Stevie when he was Little Stevie Wonder .. used to always be around the studio " getting in everyones way & jumping on the drums when ever they were left alone & also found sleeping behind Amps in a corner during an all night session .. When I 1st heard Innervisions it just Blew my Mind . & one of my favourite songs of His & in my attempts to learn the Superstition Riff in Eb I used to blind fold myself & as a nice way to practice just have one candle on in the room ( safety 1st Kids ) But Although SRV 's Version made it more accessible & Stevie admits he Multi tracked the Song in the studio alone & he rarely plays it as it was 1st laid down often using other keyboard players .. it is still my Go to warm up on a Keyboard .. He is such a Trickster LOL it is always entertaining to watch him make his Band jump through Hoop's trying to follow his Directions .. A true Master makes it all look so easy .. As you just did with this Lesson .. Big Love & stay safe .
Great choice for the video, Ayla! I love dissonant chords in guitar, and I would like to recommend Lenine, a brazilian composer, musician and singer. I hope you enjoy. Regards from Brazil!
Just subscribed....thank you for your time work and effort. The quality of your thoughts are exceptional and your presentation is as velvety smooth as the chords you play.
Love your videos, your style of 'teaching' is very instructive and pleasant. And u play so cleanly! (And irrelevant comment: George Harrison should have borrowed your guitar for the Beatles rooftop concert, the Green color matches the pants he was wearing 😉)
Great lesson, I really enjoyed watching you for the last few years, very inspirational. I have one little critical suggestion that is to not be dripping and quite so much reverb as it makes deciphering some of the notes a little more challenging. Otherwise keep up the great work, you’re awesome
Hi Ayla. I invite you to the west beach grill in White Rock for Sunday evening open mic jams. It's a privilege knowing you're in our little corner of the world.
i really enjoy all the lessons that are provided. It is so inspiring to know that i can learn guitar as i have wanted to my whole life. I really enjoy the way you teach and would like to know if you have a lesson on picking. i seem to have hit that as a road block. with so many different opinions i would really appreciate your. Thank you
Is that a Tele that Ayla is playing? I wonder what kind/year? Very Beautiful. The guitar is pretty as well. 😉 Her lessons are always day brightener for me.
It’s actually a fender duo-sonic, but they are definitely similar guitars with their use of 2 pickups, 2 knobs, and a 3 way switch. This has the same amount of tones as a tele, but uses different pickups and more resembles a Strat in terms of design.
Thank you, Ayla! Nice lesson and great playing! Tell us, What model Fender guitar is that? It sounds great, and it looks cool with the neck pickup being slanted (instead of the brisge pickup). Also, what guage strings are you using? Thanks, Joseph

One of the mysteries of my life is how someone as young as you get this smart. I'm happy for you. Press on.
ive seen so many videos of Ayla admiring Stevie wonder, it’s nice to finally see her play some more of his music :)

The green in green is beautiful.

@@mrlofi333 No, I'm complimenting, not simping...whatever that means...
IMO, Tina S is scarier. Mostly because she doesn’t say a word and has a mostly calm expression ok her face. Yet she shreds like no other.
Love your lessons Ayla. You are way beyond your years. Stevie is one of the greatest musicians in modern music for sure and this lesson hits the mark !
Not to take away from your skill, talent, or content...your guitar has a wicked cool color scheme!!!

the second advanced technique is also heard in smile please, gorgeous song
amazing tutorial :) love your smile & your approachable amazing teaching
Just discovered Ayla's lessons yesterday. Learned the guitar solo to Something from her. Amazing lessons. Beautiful smile.

Such a joy of music transmit this girl. Thank you Ayla!
He is a national treasure that we don’t appreciate enough. Great choice today! 😎
Loved the lesson. For vocalists, that V chord is the place for adding color (obviously), so for those who are accompanying vocals,....
I didn't know that, thanks!

Nice lesson on the harmony of the genius of music from the Rock and Roll era! "crazy" chords aren't usually difficult and you proved it!
Best Guitar Teacher 👌. #lifecovers.

@1:50 is incorrect. The Lydian scale can be considered a major scale and the two chord is a major chord.
And he does all this with his eyes closed!
I love this stuff 👏 I was trying to learn My Cherie Amour a while back.
