The creativity and flawless execution is something to behold. Louie is truly one of the greatest players. His body of work is unbelievable. His Walk On By video is one of my favourite guitar videos. It is absolutely beautiful.
So, so tasty! And I love that hint of a smile that Louie has during the tastiest sections. He knows what he’s created, and it’s awesome! Now I’m going back to listen to Too High with a different perspective.
He's 79 years old and still playing as great as ever. Louie is an inspiration to all of us as a guitarist and musician. Watching and listening to him play is proof that when you really love your instrument, it becomes a lifelong companion that never ceases to bring pleasure and endless challenges.
Having grown up with Louie, his phrasing is so recognizable. Of course his tone is always supreme, but as soon as he breaks into a lead it can only be him. So great.
Louie is really good , I've learned not to pay any attention to people's age , recently at the guitar stores I've talked to people in their 80s ,small children and teenagers. When it comes to music it is a leveling territory where all of us are on equal Terrain.
I could practice for a thousand years and still never get anywhere near as good as this Extraordinary guitarist. This is Supreme Talent and this man has contributed more to a variety of hit songs over the decades than anyone has given him credit for. There’s talented then there’s Louie Shelton. Amazing.🇬🇧👍👍👍👍👍
Sir Louie, I’ve heard a lot of guitar players in the Internet for the last 10 years, but you are absolutely the BEST! There’s a lot of players who can do awesome gymnastics on the guitar neck, but you let other aspects of the song breathe with your signature licks, riffs, and chords. George Harrison did this. The songs you did would not be hits without you, and you continue to amaze the world!👏👏👏🎸
A year or two ago I didn’t know who you were. Then I found out you played some of my favorite solos/hooks I’ve listened to all of my life and produced some of my favorite songs/albums. You are in my top five favorite guitarists of all time!
Fantastic Louis. I love hearing you play. I just wish you could put some learn to play viedos out. I've been play since i was 12 and im 70 now. Never to old to learn. Thanks
Even though I'm not much of a guitarist, I can incorporate some of Louie's licks into my own limited playing. This video is a piece of musical history and a fantastic learning video.
Just Brilliant Louie. I keep marveling at your playing.Every phrase every nuance simply masterful.I could listen to you all day.If you haven't done a instructional masterclass on your playing and how you developed your style you really should please. Not to mention a book on your vast career as a top session player.
I could be wrong but I wonder if this is a Vintage guitar by Trevor Wilkinson ,PS. Excellent treatment of this stevie wonder classic , from talking book I think his best album ,
I imagine there are countless thousands of players out there like me who, if we'd ever 'made it' as guitarists, would have ideally worked in a studio, on material given to us by producers. I never had a yen to be in a band, play live and all the rest of it. I did in the end, do a lot of playing - at a very low level, but Louie is a living [legend] example of that ideal.
I'm ashamed to say I didn't even know who Louie was til yesterday then researched him and discovered he was playing on just about every pop song I knew as a kid. He was Nile Rogers 10 years before Nile Rodgers. You can sense the great strength in those fingers as well as the great artistry. I had been about to go to bed, beat for the day, then saw this and stayed up another three hours playing my Tele - now that is inspiration!
Louie, you are truly a gifted artists!! I love all your guitar riffs and solos!! Thank you for the years of music that I didn't know was from you. I have loved all of your songs
Many guitarists focus on lead playing...playing a somewhat simple series of chords then blowing up with a big lead break. Louie's playing is incredible from start to finish...I find his chording completely intimidating from a playing point of view. Hope that makes sense
Kudos Louie. Just found you on here but have heard you (unknowingly) for decades. You are an incredible player. Thank you for all the fantastic music you have made over the years.
The creativity and flawless execution is something to behold. Louie is truly one of the greatest players. His body of work is unbelievable. His Walk On By video is one of my favourite guitar videos. It is absolutely beautiful.
Not one boring note comes out of this man’s fingers
Stunning player, made many artists wealthy
Great phrasing IMO. A lot of Jazz guys are boring..not Louie
so true
Classic Stevie wonder, You are a legend Louie, thank you for the gems you wrote 🙏🙏🙏
A smooth operator!

I sure have been enjoying all of these Louie Shelton videos that are on YT now.
...Louie is...adept, adroit, dexterous, agile, nimble, neat, nimble-fingered, skilled, proficient, accomplished, expert and just so....Masterly Masterful !!!
That about covers it. Well said!
The two legends Louie and Larry
Now this is how guitar should be played
Again wow! this is how my teacher wanted me to play. So in my book this and every other thing Ive heard is the way to play. Thank You Louie
Having grown up with Louie, his phrasing is so recognizable. Of course his tone is always supreme, but as soon as he breaks into a lead it can only be him. So great.
The guy is inimitable because he plays with so much feeling.
Louie is really good , I've learned not to pay any attention to people's age , recently at the guitar stores I've talked to people in their 80s ,small children and teenagers. When it comes to music it is a leveling territory where all of us are on equal Terrain.
What a tone!
I'm ADHD, and he still held my interest for the entire song. Most guitarists lose me before the halfway point. Gotta love him.
He is effortless....what a talent!
Living legend.
Louie has played on more great diverse songs and made his playing the star of the song than any other guitarist over the last 50 years..
Thats just plain ol' badass.

Do you notice, Louie never goes off on his own thing? He supports the song at every moment. So rare...taste beyond. 🚀🚀
He knocks me out and that is hard to do. I'm super critical to a fault when it comes to guitarists!

It don't get better than that.
I hear your playing on so many tracks played on the radio. And this is just fantastic lots of Wes in those licks thanks for the music Louie.
yeah I'm still trying to figure out his great guitar licks to Diamond girl from Seals and crofts I got it about halfway down
One of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs. Love the adventurous take on this.
What an amazing gift! Unreal
Amazing ! timing is perfect . A True icon . 😎✌️

He’s a brilliant guitarist
Good way to start my day, thanks Louie.
Great Master of sessions, it was a honor to play with you onboard cruise ships. God Bless
He has been my favorite guitar player since I met him in New Mexico when I was a teenager in the ‘60s.
Absolute Master.
Too High. Must be named after the bar set by Mr. Shelton for mere mortal guitarists.
Where red is green
Louie is "The Man"!
Even though I'm not much of a guitarist, I can incorporate some of Louie's licks into my own limited playing. This video is a piece of musical history and a fantastic learning video.
So glad Louie decided to post these videos.

This dude didn't get off that train in Clarksville, he just keeps going!
Brilliant musician who uses the guitar to weave his stories.

I mean, what's to add? He's always been great! Also great choice of tunes to do a take down of. Pure class.
Louis, you are killing it. Love to listen to a legend still wearing it out
I could be wrong but I wonder if this is a Vintage guitar by Trevor Wilkinson ,PS. Excellent treatment of this stevie wonder classic , from talking book I think his best album ,
Kinda does look like one....

Thank man, I spent my years in the clubs but got lucky to make my way into the session scene.
I'm ashamed to say I didn't even know who Louie was til yesterday then researched him and discovered he was playing on just about every pop song I knew as a kid. Nile Rodgers would be in awe of Louis skill on the guitar . Nile is a nice player but let's not put him in the same sentence as Shelton.
Noel Rodgers quite cool this guy very cool
Love it Louie!
Beautiful!❤❤❤
Outstanding! Thank you for all your talented contributions.😎
