Several days ago, I finished listening to Stevie's entire songbook on Spotify. As a radio DJ with 25 years of experience playing any music genre under the sun, I can safely say that he is a songwriting giant. I am very picky in my selections, but I managed to archive 237 of his songs. His melodic and harmonic inventiveness is awe-inspiring, and his use of modulation is the best in the business.
He’s the greatest American musician of all time and the greatest songwriter of the 20th century. His peers in music are long dead and long yet to come.
@@Boogalyhu He is ONE of the greatest POPULAR music singer-songwriters not only of America but also of the world. But, when you start with the hyperbole, your post loses all credibility and smacks of carrying a nationalist monkey on your back. I'm pretty sure that you haven't listened to enough of even popular music to know what you're talking about, let alone other genres, such as classical or jazz, which are infinitely more complex and sophisticated.
@@deanronson6331 I am a very experienced music listeners with extensive knowledge and collection in everything from jazz, to rock, to electronic, to hip hip, to R&B, etc. Everything from Duke Ellington to Fela Kuti to The Prodigy. Stevie is the best songwriter of the 20th century in my opinion. This is not an uncommon opinion in both music fan and creator spaces. Since you seem to adhere to the academic veneration of Jazz and Classical, take a look at what Miles Davis had to say about Stevie in his prime. I respect if you have a different opinion, but my opinion is not perceived as hyperbole in serious music discussion spaces. It quite a common one.
@David Michaels Black people's skin is *not* thicker. The reason darker skin often looks "younger" longer is because the pigment melanin helps protects the skin from some of the damaging rays of the sun. The assumption of "thicker skin" has led to tons of historical brutality against Blacks from ignoramuses who assume they don't feel pain, can bear more pain--people from brutal police to poorly trained doctors who deny pain medication to Black people who are in severe pain. Maybe the melanin is compensation for some of the thin-skinned know-it-alls with whom they now share the planet.

He can't get up the pitch as he could but it's Still incredible how great it sounds!
Little lower yea. That nature. Still voice in great shape!!
MixingGBP it doesnt sound exactly the same its alot more nasal
MixingGBP he needs to release new music
@@louisaddeo-weiss5690
He needs to do nothing if he so desires.
Don't be greedy.
This is so cool that Stevie Wonder was willing to do this. A lot of the legends don't like doing fun things like this. Great show!!!
I read that this was the longest time James spent with anyone on this segment. Stevie wanted to just keep going!
Mike Follis really? That's so cool. Singing in the car with Stevie Wonder...amazing.
yes James said they were in the car for 3 hours!!!
Why for this guy! They are making a no talent a star!!
+Rahloh McDonogh Which guy?
Driving in a car, with Stevie Wonder, listening to Stevie Wonder... Sounds like a perfect afternoon to me!
Top 3 Carpool Karaokes:
1) Paul McCartney
2) Elton John
3) Stevie Wonder
Dream Carpool Karaoke:
If these two legends were alive, Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson would have been perfect for this...
yeeeees ❤
Red Hot Chili Peppers had a good one, but not as good as those three
George Michael ♥️
Agreed
Don't forget whitney houston
Omg the moment where stevie calls james' wife and james starts to get teary! So much love, respect and appreciation and simply just in awe 😍 love it!
Stevie had me dying at "Nothing to do with me mate"
The love he showed in this video was awesome !
+bakerXderek This is the second time now go make some video's now. CHEEEEAAAAAAAA
+bakerXderek Stevie is hilarious. Who knew? I truly enjoyed this video...
CHEEEEAAAAAHH!!!! I love your #sex3sex
Chyeeeeeeeeah!!

Sign sealed Delivered is one of my favorite songs ever by my Uncle Stevie Wonder
Stevie singing and James crying...priceless!!
you can tell he REALLY loves his Wife, he was in tears....
who wasn'T? its so cute
the GREAT Stevie was in FEAR of his LIFE Even he KNOWS better than to let a BLIND man DRIVE
I think he’s in tears because Stevie is singing 🥳
*Watching Stevie you can tell how much he truly loves music, more than anyone I'm aware of. It's just so pure, beautiful.*
When he sings I feel like, I'm seeing his inside more than anything... he is surely uncomperable, pure and beautiful indeed. he makes fall inlove with him, over and over again...🙃🥰😇
Thank you 🎉🎉🎉🎉
He’s the greatest American musician of all time and the greatest songwriter of the 20th century.
Wow! Amazing!! Yes Prince once said that Stevie is the greatest song writer of our time! He’s just an amazing human being in general
Stevie's dressed appropriately for the part.
Sensei Wonder.
Jamal Dantata I CRACKED UP SHYT HAHA
Jamal Dantata everybody was kung fu fighting
Stevie's skin... no wrinkles. His skin is flawless...gorgeous!
Omg ikr imagine having that perfect skin for 70 years. Like damn he could even look like that when he’s 100 😂
@David Michaels You're so right.
@@carpet7398 and then we have prince charles
@David Michaels Black people's skin is *not* thicker. The reason darker skin often looks "younger" longer is because the pigment melanin helps protects the skin from some of the damaging rays of the sun. The assumption of "thicker skin" has led to tons of historical brutality against Blacks from ignoramuses who assume they don't feel pain, can bear more pain--people from brutal police to poorly trained doctors who deny pain medication to Black people who are in severe pain. Maybe the melanin is compensation for some of the thin-skinned know-it-alls with whom they now share the planet.
And 15 year old me with acne 😩
I'm just gonna say it. James has the best job ever.
nah this car karaoke thing is cringe af...
Oh my God. I think the same.
I wish I could do it right now
Ikr he gets to drive around with people vibin' and just straight up having a good time 😫🥰
Ha. Not a fan
I love Stevie, his concert was amazing years ago, all his records are the best from this LEGEND-Love, KC
It’s such a shame that Freddie Mercury couldn’t do one of these
Agreed
John Lennon and George Harrison too
Lets dig him up!
Michael Jackson would’ve loved this as well
David bowie could have but he didnt
Stevie's blind, but he gave a colorful life to us who can see, bcoz of his music. Thankyou Stevie! You're legendary ❤️ we love you from the Philippines 🇵🇭
His blindness is a publicity stunt.
He’s blind like “magic Johnson” has HIV
Why does the car look so high up? I don’t get it
@@poopgod69 he actually is blind
@@outsidechambaz no he's not
Stevie's songs are timeless. They make me so happy like they did when I heard them as a kid. He is amazing and so talented.
Funny. I love Stevie's voice. So much talent

You can see that James Corden is such a genuine guy, the way his love for his wife brings him to tears 🥺🥺 the hate for him is so unwarranted! Going to miss this show so much
I would burn five tanks of gas if it meant I could drive all day with Stevie Wonder singing through his entire catalog with him!
drfenderfunk
1000%
As would i.
drfenderfunk hell yes
drfenderfunk you’re damn right
So true.. i would call work and tell them i wont be in and have stevie sing as my excuse lol
I love how emotional James got when Stevie sang to his wife. Pure love ❤️ for her and joy such a legend was singing for her
Thank you for your love and support
This was my favourite part too ❤
I can't think of anything most romantic, Stevie Wonder just secured at least 40 more years of marriage for James
Stevie's music is timeless there are no words to describe his insight
I've had a rough week and this really made me feel so happy.
Hope next week is amazing for you :)
I had a rough day today and somehow stumbled upon this video and your comment! I hope you have a better week :)
+Camille Witt That's what music can do with a person. It gave me a smile of my face as well. Take care ;)
hope everything is going well xoxo
+Camille Witt Me too! This carpool karaoke is my FAVORITE late night show feature. I like Jimmy Fallon's lip sync battles, too. They always lift my spirits. :-)
RIP to MJ & Whitney, this man is the greatest musician still living in 2024
Hands down!
One of them I wouldn't say the greatest though. In my opinion it would be Paul McCartney
@@colebypaton538 I love McCartney, but to be fair Stevie Wonder didn't have a Ringo or Lennon, that's beside the fact of Stevie's proficiency at 10 different instruments despite his blindness and being a black man starting his career in 1960s America which was much more receptive to the clean cut European Beatles
@@colebypaton538 I respect that. We all have our favorites and our opinions. Rarely have I witnessed people changing their minds especially in a discussion forum. It's OK to disagree, just be respectful, that's what my dad would always say. Peace.
@@carlanderton3rd yeah ok you've convinced me lol without lennon and ringo the beatles would have no where near the same sound
I love how happy James is 😂😂💕
Omg he cried 🙊
+Queen' Ashlay so Cute 😘💕💕
He has to do carpool karoke the big pop acts today, it was his absolute pleasure to sing with a LEGEND like Stevie wonder.
If you got paid alot of $$ to drive with celebs and sign with them, driving a sweet SUV wouldn't you smile? ;)
always singing in the car :)
It’s crazy how Stevie’s music transcends time! His music is as relevant now as it was back then! Timeless and Legendary! 🔥❤️
I did not know Stevie was so funny. I love him!😍😍😍😍
I saw him in a small concert in Lake Tahoe and he was absolutely electrifying - he said he like playing smaller venues - the place was jumping and he sounded like he was 21 years old.
@@pockynon I am going to see Stevie here in Dublin on July 9th , Need l say l am so excited, Can't wait ☺️
Stevie Wonder is probably the most talented musician alive. A living legend! Can't believe he is 67 years old this year. He looks, acts and seems so much younger! Hope he will be able to tour and continue to make new great music for many years to come!
Oskar can't forget Michael Jackson
I read it wrong my bad 💀
Oskar I agree. Stevie is definitely one of the best. We gotta appreciate our legends while they are alive.
thank you
with the time flying by you forget how awesome stevie wonder is
JAAPIOJO ok
Dennis Taylor Berry Gordy founder of Motown pegged him exactly right from Steveland Morris to Stevie Wonder at 12 yrs. old because as he said, he's Truly a Wonder!!!
Dennis Taylor hi
Stevie Wonder is amazing. Loved by all and I'm so happy to see he's still out there enjoying himself and making people around him happy. He's a true CELEB that displays nothing less than class and grace. Thank you Stevie
