Which is why CW pled guilty. If we think about it, a death penalty trial is the MOST expensive form of trial on taxpayers. CW did what I have never seen in my life. He went from crime to sentencing in 90 days flat. No hearings. No motions. No trial. Just, "I'm guilty. Done"! Wouldn't it be amazing if EVERY criminal did that? I personally think it's worth it. the defense attorney even forgot to mention the “no consensus is necessary” argument in his closing. That is something you should include to play on the jury members that are personally against the death penalty. And why a PSI when it is practically clear that the death penalty will be given? The judge will likely make friends to push a PSI through in a short time around XMAS and new year. It is easy to say as judge to have it ready so quickly,
Given the brief time it took to find MS guilty 1st degree murder & conspiracy, I’m not surprised with this outcome. Mark cares about his image .DP verdict bothers him on so many levels .

Donna, the defence is pulling the Spencer card, their last ditch effort to try to show evidence to the judge why that monster should get off the death penalty carried out. That goes on in front of the judge. Of course the other side has their day in front of the judge to show proof why the sentence should stick. I'm pretty sure the death ruling will be carried out.
Justice for the beautiful modern day Mother Teresa ! Xxxx from England. What a sad loss. So glad to see this beast gone. How could he do that to his daughters, that is not love.
Yes...no one knows if someone will or can be repentant. Wonder how many of these commenters that are glad for this penalty phase verdict consider themselves to be prolife? Can't be prolife if killing another human (no matter what they did) is justified.
This means both sides can try their best to 'appeal' to the judge. Defendent lawyers went to get that monster off-- death penalty & this is their last ditch effort to do that. Both sides get to put their 2 cents in. I think the judge is doing this to insure the 'defence' has after this hopefully no where to go. (Hopefully) Even if the defence trys to you the 'he is/was-is 'insane' line I'm sure this judge will see right through that. Mark reminds me of OJ ...He seems to be pretty smug to me, in denial big time. He won't be 'smiling' for long. To be continued....
I think it's probably a bit late for the defence to try the insanity tactic. During the testimonies I found it incredible that his relatives were saying what a great father he was, despite the fact he had his daughters' mother murdered.
I am neither for or against the death penalty. The only reason I tend to be a bit against it is the cost. Average cost to kill one POS is $3,000,000. It is literally cheaper to keep them in prison for 25 years. The upside to death is his daily living conditions will be far worse on death row than in general population from what I read. What I find amusing and you know this has to eat at his soul is that his twin (the guy who actually was there and helped kill her) got a less punishment than Mark did. I always wonder... if you ask him if it was worth it... what do you suppose the answer would be? ;o)
Now we wait for the judge to come back with the final verdict? Because doesn’t the jury suggest a penalty and the judge makes the decision? Can someone please tell me?

The one thing we never got an answer to was why. It wasn’t for the money,...that was a bonus and an incentive for CWW & JR. There was no evidence whatsoever that Teresa was leaving him. So why?
No. It happened 1st in Florida some time ago. Spencer Act just means that both sides get ONE last chance to have their case GO BEFORE A JUDGE ONLY, not the whole jurry thing again. It's Mark's defences last chance to try to prove to the judge to NOT sentence Mark the death penalty. Other side show their evidence on why Mark SHOULD get the death penalty. THEN THE JUDGE MAKES THE RULEING AND THAT'S IT... I really think the death penalty will stick.
LOL, don't feel like the lone ranger. I don't think Sievers himself knows what hit him yet. Yes, that jury verdict was pretty confusing. He got the death penalty.
@@dayinthelifeofmycat well im sure mark probably knew. his lawyers probably walked him through and explained it before the verdict. i had to google what is a spencer hearing . but you're right the verdict was confusing. it should just be read like the trial verdict. does the jury recommend the death penalty? yes or no. simple.

Why is he getting the death penalty? Is it because of who he killed? A doctor? I see everyday, courts sentencing others for the same (or worse) crimes and they normally get life + no parole. Is it that he had bad attorneys? Is it because they didn't (or weren't offered) take a plea? I'm so confused with our judicial system. Smh....😕
Whilst I agree that Sievers is guilty of this crime - having watched the trial - I still cannot agree with the death penalty other than for those guilty of multiple murders or those of children. The fact that Sievers will VERY possibly die of natural causes in prison before his sentence can be meted out makes me even more of an opponent of capital punishment in all but the most extreme cases. It seems to me that Teresa, a passionate and gifted doctor and someone who wanted so much to bring LIFE to as many as possible, probably wouldn't have been a DP supporter. This comment is in no way to condone the crime of murder.
Jared Burgess I agree. I live in a country that doesn’t have the death penalty and I find it hard to hear the death penalty verdict read out. It’s seems very matter of fact at times.
@Lisa Boulier Agree totally that he is utter pondscum. And I agree that he's dangerous, too. But a civilisation is judged on the quality of its mercy and there are significant reasons why the DP should be abolished. The main, of course, is the enormous number of bad convictions - totally inexcusable - but even if you just look at the sheer cost of housing DP inmates and also the expense to taxpayers of the seemingly endless number of appeals that every DP inmates is granted.
You have to be a heartless human being to order the murder of another person, especially your wife. Unbelievably crazy. I can’t imagine how narcissistic this man must be to think he would get away with this crime. And his two beautiful children will have to live without both of their parents.
He gave Dr. Sievers the death penalty, so it is only fair that he get the death penalty. What could this woman have ever done to him that he would set her up to be ambushed and bashed in the back of her head with a hammer? Two little girls are now without a mother. They are without a father, too, but to have a father like Mark Sievers you might as well be fatherless. What a legacy he left for these two little girls. Sad.
Wright took a plea deal, and he admitted to carrying out the murder. The jury in the Rodgers trial decided against the death penalty. All three are as bad as each other.
No is all his fault, he give the address, he promisse money , he want her death and he want the 4.5 millions of insurance he didn't kill her with his hands but he got the people to do it for him. It was his plan! Others they were doing a job! They didn't have feeling for the doctor! her husband yes, he want her death. that is the law you pay to kill, you are responsible for that.
I'm curious as to all the mutterings he was making during the reading of the sentencing..he looked at the jury once and man he can give some hateful for "just a second" looks. The jury did a good job on this one.
I don’t know why but I am actually really surprised he got death. Do his children get to visit with their father still? I feel so awful for those kids. Their father messed up their whole lives over his evil selfishness. The jury did a good job. I couldn’t have been on that jury.

I almost feel sorry for him.
But the way he planned and executed out Teresa’s murder
should deprive anyone of compassion toward him.
Joyce Wang she died a horrific death. Even if not by his hands, he put it all in motion when he could’ve just divorced her.
Key word Joyce, 'almost'..... 😁 I almost do too, but not at all.
Javableu I was thinking the same thing; her death was horrific... I only pray she was unconscious for most of it... just imagine when you are hammering something and the hammer slips and hits your hand/finger and multiply that by 1000+
☹
@@javableu9457 Maybe you wouldn't "almost" feel sorry for him if he plotted and had one of your loved ones bashed in the back of the head with a hammer. What a stupid comment.
Joyce, I was feeling more sorry for his family. On the other hand, who knows, who all these people are. He has a face that makes you sorry; imagine what he planned. It had to be so so so horrible! Hopefully, she lost consciousness with the first hit😢😢😢
And this is what SHOULD'VE happened to CW !!!
A big fat yeeeeeeees!
He will never get out of prison. He will die in there. It's no different than the years & years he would sit on death row waiting for execution, only for it to not happen.
@@nikkib5753 Expensive or not, CW doesn't deserve to live another second. He and his terrible family can't keep their mouths shut. A death sentence would surely swiftly shut all of their disgusting mouths shut.
@@drvoodoo3073 oh I agree completely but I didn't get to make that decision. I figure someday one of the prisoners WILL give him jailhouse justice and he won't come out alive. Prisoners don't take kindly to two types of other prisoners. Child molesters AND child killers. Period!
@@nikkib5753 Have you been following the CW stuff? Did you know that CW is doing perfectly fine in jail? He's not in general population meaning that he's pretty safe where he is now. During the Feb jailhouse interview he sounded extremely content and almost happy! So yeah, he doesn't deserve to live another second. He IS NOT suffering by any means.
the defense attorney even forgot to mention the “no consensus is necessary” argument in his closing.
I'm a strong proponent for the DP, but not for a single murder; I think LWOP is sufficient, especially since he has no priors.
I believe the fact that the death was so vicious, painful and brutal it warrant death and I am not crazy about the death penalty.
He has earned it
Never get your sentenced handled down by a judge who has 2 first names, Honorable Bruce Kyle
People don’t get that choice
So glad it’s death. What an evil monster!
The Spencer thing means the defence can try to show the judge why Mark shouldn't get death.
The state has their turn to state again why he should get the death penalty carried out THEN the judge has the final word.
The jurry did their part...I'm pretty sure the judge will agree with their verdict.
He is despicable I couldn't stand to listen to his mother say "He is a warm, caring, compassionate and wonderful person" what a load of hogwash. I'm glad he's got everything he deserved he's a cold calculated killer with no thought of what this would do to his kids, monster full stop!!!
ABSOLUTELY!
He,s 51 years old...he,ll appeal this until he's gone...sadly it's our bill to house n care for him...what a system!
Maybe it will end naturally
Money well spent to get him off the streets
But which trial to watch next??
you take a life you give your life. eye for an eye tooth for a tooth.
Boom! Buh bye, Mark.
Sweet tap dancing Christ what a day
It gave me a headache having to listen to the verdict spoken in stereo......why is it like that?
We the jury find that: Mark Sievers do not pass Go do not collect $200 and go directly to jail. Mine is a lot simpler
Justice for the beautiful modern day Mother Teresa ! Xxxx from England. What a sad loss. So glad to see this beast gone. How could he do that to his daughters, that is not love.
Mark this is the sentencing what are u stil writing 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Against death as i am for Life. I pray this man will have a change of heart and will repent. 🙏
Repentance will not bring Teresa back to her children and family
@@Janadu i know...😪
He didn't care for the he girls he want the 💰, sad for the girls
Yes...no one knows if someone will or can be repentant. Wonder how many of these commenters that are glad for this penalty phase verdict consider themselves to be prolife? Can't be prolife if killing another human (no matter what they did) is justified.
Got that smile wiped off his face pretty quick.
(Hopefully)
Even if the defence trys to you the 'he is/was-is 'insane' line I'm sure this judge will see right through that.
My heart breaks for his girls.....
Hopefully they're w the mothers loving family. They seem like good people.
I always wonder... if you ask him if it was worth it... what do you suppose the answer would be? ;o)
Scott Peterson is living well
@@truthsleuth7779 I suppose if your standards are pretty darn low, he is.
Read, on DR, hourly checks by guards, making sure he ain't suicidal..
Why is it that open court brings on coughing fits???
Now we wait for the judge to come back with the final verdict? Because doesn’t the jury suggest a penalty and the judge makes the decision? Can someone please tell me?
I absolutely hate the way MS bounces his head around all cocky, like he’s a big shot or one of the attorneys.
Damn. I’ve watched far too many verdicts and don’t recall it ever being this confusing. The victim’s family looked confused too. Ah. Florida.
I thought it confusing too!
They read the instruction sheet given to the jurors : Telling them when to go to the next section, etc.
That’s the face of a man who is devoid of and maybe incapable of remorse. Truly narcissistic
His days of LIASONS with 20-30 women w complete bios while married are over !!! .. He is One Insatiable dud.. His pomp and ceremony days long gone once the orange jumpsuit arrives. Menace to Society !! Let him take his frustrations out on his cell size ...8X7X12.5, for about 12 years before his execution !!!!
The fake crying throughout the Trial made me sick!!
HE SAT AND SCRIBBLED ON PAPER TO LOOK COOL AND INNOCENT, WHEN HE IS GUILTY AS HELL!!
What's confusing about the sentencing? It's clear to me he got death as a sentence.
If this is confusing, why do people even vote?
I agree with the jury without a doubt. But I dont understand why Segura didn't get sentenced the death penalty as well because he killed those innocent children.. Seriously
Wow!
The one thing we never got an answer to was why. It wasn’t for the money,...that was a bonus and an incentive for CWW & JR. There was no evidence whatsoever that Teresa was leaving him. So why?
It was for the money.
4.5 millions of dollars !
Is there always a Spencer Hearing before a death sentence is given?
GhostCity Shelton
Very interesting! Thanks so much for answering🙂
What the???? The jury said DEATH!! I am so confused now
Evil walks among us.
Hiding under the guise of husband, wife, children or stranger
Be strong
Thanks for outing yourself.
3:23 the 1st timestamp is him thinking "phew, LWOP" 3:55 2nd timestamp is the look of brain malfunction that he is not getting LWOP but DP! 😂😂
I need to brush up on penalty phase verdicts because I listened to verdict all the way up to the jury polling and I don't know what the verdict is
LOL, don't feel like the lone ranger. I don't think Sievers himself knows what hit him yet. Yes, that jury verdict was pretty confusing. He got the death penalty.
@@dayinthelifeofmycat well im sure mark probably knew. his lawyers probably walked him through and explained it before the verdict. i had to google what is a spencer hearing . but you're right the verdict was confusing. it should just be read like the trial verdict. does the jury recommend the death penalty? yes or no. simple.
Guilty , death penalthy.
I think they got it right. He thought he was going to get away with murdering his wife. I hope his daughter's have a better life now .How could he live knowing what he caused. Thank you to the Jury. A very confusing verdict statement. Thank you for letting us see this trial on UA-cam.
The life sentence soon swiped the smile off his face.
@2:41 lady you're smiling a LITTLE too soon hun
I saw that 😂😂 the smile was soon wiped off her face .😂😂
Weill it is so sad that life goes wrong like this.
Smh....😕
What was he muttering to himself? Any lip readers out there?
At the beginning he said "I'm just really really stressed." I stopped paying attention after that, he should be stressed.
Does any one know what he is constantly writing!? He's too late if he's remembering facts that could have got him off.
Maybe his Will
Wait… they didn’t think he did it for the money ???? 😧
This guy is psycho so weird just watching him.
I'm confused sounds like she broke out Into some kind of secret code
As many viewers noted, the manner in which the verdict was declared was confusing and poorly written. It lacked clarity.
Excuse my ignorance, but can anyone tell me what a PSI is please?
May God bless Teresas family and i pray they can go on and start to heal.
You have to be a heartless human being to order the murder of another person, especially your wife. Unbelievably crazy. I can’t imagine how narcissistic this man must be to think he would get away with this crime. And his two beautiful children will have to live without both of their parents.
Even with a Death Sentence he still has that Doofus face.
when is the court back on with the judges decision on sentencing anyone please ??????????????
I’m confused. Did he get life or death?
Death
Sad.
I find it absurd, that both ACTUAL killers live, and the man who arranged it dies.
The legal system is messed up.
Full moon tonight!
He’s quite the smug s.o.b.
Anyone know how long they deliberated for during this phase??
I don’t know why but I am actually really surprised he got death. Do his children get to visit with their father still? I feel so awful for those kids. Their father messed up their whole lives over his evil selfishness. The jury did a good job. I couldn’t have been on that jury.
That's why they screen the jury so thoroughly. I'm not sure I could either.
I don't believe the girls will be able to see him. He's dangerous.
They can visit him thru the glass they can't touch him
I read.... He can have visitors/his kids BUT BEHIND GLASS.... The ONLY PERSON THAT GETS TO SEE HIM WITHOUT GLASS IS HIS LAWYER &&& WITHOUT CUFFS.
Well done great job Mr. H. Hunter
What's the the verdict??
Death sentence.
Sievers was looking at the jury first time ever. He was giving them dirty looks.
