I've said it before, but I have to say it again. I'm a HUGE fan of this prosecutor. He's comfortable and has an easy confidence with the witnesses, the jurors, the judge, and his fellow attorneys. And he's one of the few attorneys I've seen who gives an engaging opening/closing argument without going over the top with theatrics. Note to self: Never commit a crime in Lee County.

How is this shamble of the case "Justice"?

@@sheinFL The only thing that got it to "clear and convincing" for me was the text that said . The problem is that the prosecutor just kept saying "What's the reason for that". Well, i have made up codes to speak to my friends, once i have even sent a friend of mine a real paper letter with a code, and then a day later another letter in that code. Talking in code is not murder.

That was quite comical indeed. Like how that must be important my lawyer is writing something down so I must do the same... but he does it so fast that no way in can write down anything substantial, this is just like a monkey imitating what he sees and replicate.

But another possible reason is medication-many medications, including some of the most common anti-depressants, cause dry mouth. Hence, u drink a lot of water. I believe Mark thought the evidence all showed Curtis and jimmy did this and that he would walk. For me the most damning thing in this case is the fact that Mark and jimmy DID kill Teresa. They had no reason, no motive to just decide to go all the way to Florida and kill her not even taking anything for the house. So the fact Curtis did this proves to me Mark asked him.

States attorney did a much better job this trial with their closing. I watched the Defenses closing live and it was bad. It was like witnessing a man have a conversation with himself.

Mr. Hunter was awesome in his closing. Even though he had a lot of solid incriminating evidence to discuss, it's his delivery and perfectly timed pause and looks he give the jury when doing it. His talent is very perceptible. Great job sir.

If i were his attorney i'd advise him not to. The prosecution's case was ridiculous, and at that time testifying could only make things worse. What they didn't count on was to have some angry people on the jury... perhaps they used UA-cam commenters as their jury pool.

@@suzymoroka297 Not every time somebody gets convicted is a "magnificent job". It is a "successful carrier resume line". But i always find it disturbing that prosecutors have no obligation of null-prosecution when they know that the suspect is not guilty beyond reasonable doubt, and yet they can probably pull of the case.

WHY is the defendant allowed to approach the bench with the attorneys? I have never seen that, and it's IMO appalling. Never should have been agreed to by the judge.

  • @ErikS-

Compared to the Jimmy Rodgers trial, the prosecutor now constantly repeats: “witness that is not paid”, “not a co defendant that may have a motive to lie”...
He is trying to prevent that the jury starts doubting the witnesses. Something that was an issue in the rodgers trial.
This closing is way better than the one of the rodgers trial.

Of course it is. As with any crime, they are not nearly as concerned with who committed the crime as they are with the one who's brain child it was. That's why Charles Manson is a household name when he's never killed anyone.
