    Look at the Granada or Monarch for the disc brakes. The spindles worked for Mustang

    The motor sounds very strong, good swap on the carb. I hope it runs out nice for you. I like the way you take your time and fix everything up real tight before actually driving your vehicles. I miss my 69 Mustang Cobra Jet, love them old Fords.

    Good progress and it is clever that you keep old parts around and you do not dump everything brainlessly. I am the kind of guy who has a hard time throwing stuff. Sometimes I have three gas pumps and two reserve carburettors in the trunk of my vehicles. I learned the hard way to always keep ignition cables and even sparkplugs in cars. I had critters eating cables so many times.

    Congrats on the revival. I noticed the radiator hose kinked too. They will suck closed when hot. You don't want to cook the motor. 😁

    It sounds like someone has done some tweaking to that motor...... sounds great! Note: I just noticed that this car has a generator, not an alternator ....vintage OLD!

    Hi Omar, Great job on the brakes, I’m glad you clean things up before you put parts together. Looks like you had a great time at Willow springs raceway.
    Take care Buddy !

    Cranked right up…bro what’s that tool you used to flare the brake lines? Does it work on different size tubings?

    look at the rear brakes again . The self adjusting cable is not centered and seated on the spring pin . The outer spring is not seated on the pin either . May cause a problem later ...

  • @bill8386
    @bill8386 2 місяці тому

    It appears that the shoe guide (anchor pin) is missing at the top or the rear brake shoes.

    Hey Omar can you suggest where to go to look for alternator and p/s brackets for my 68’ 390 build? It’s going in a Galaxie but can’t find brackets. Thanks.. love your comet btw ✌🏼

    • @OmarRamirezGalaxie
      @OmarRamirezGalaxie  8 місяців тому +1

      It can be hard to find all the pulleys and brackets, on my 428FE I’ll be going to a CVF single belt set up.

    What flare tool you using? I need to snag one and have been looking at a bunch of them. Need one for brake lines and up to 1/2" for a different thing.

      I bought it from Amazon, but a lot of other sellers have it as well. It’s a nice tool to have, it does have trouble with stainless steel 3/8ths line. I would recommend the master cool 72485. A friend of mine has it and it’s awesome, I’ll be upgrading soon to that one

    The last thing I would not do is put tap water in the motor or Anti-Freeze, since you live where the weather doesn’t drop below 34 degrees. Go to a self serve pay water drinking machine station and at 35 cents a gallon would be nothing as compared to the rust that you will be getting in 5 days. Add a tablespoon of soluble oil lubricant for that bearing in that water pump. Trust me on what I’m telling you. My daily driver 66 F100 has been running on the same drinking purified water and water pump lubricant (soluble oil) for over 7 years without any issues & no rust whatsoever. Every 3 months I open up the radiator cap to look inside and I always notice the bottom radiator cap is bright clean without a hint of rust. And adding Anti-Freeze is a motor killer. If you blow a head gasket with Anti-Freeze in it , R.I.P Comet motor.

    Nice! I had a 1964 Comet Caliente back in the late 1980's. Check out my 1964 Falcon on my channel. Just got it this spring.
