    Those are really nice tracks. Love the cutouts for tools.If I don't want to over tighten screws, I put some silicone caulk on screw threads. Keeps screws loosening up & still easy to remove screws in future.

      @ChesapeakeChris Thank you for the tip. I never considered adding silicone but it makes sense for sure. I think I remember seeing your video when you replaced some gear tracks and now I remember you adding the caulk. Thanks for watching friend!

      @fishingwithhouse Thank you kind sir. I love my Old Town. If I were to need or want to have a different kayak, I would strongly consider the Pelican Catch 100 PWR. That seems like a great little motorized kayak and you can't beat it for the money. I've never been on one, but I have watched videos on them and have admired them from a distance. If a time comes that peddling a kayak becomes too much for me, then the Catch PWR would be high on my list.

    Those look nice! I may have to finally give in to temptation and put in an order with Navarre. I'm also intrigued about the sonar package. It sometimes feels like this channel was created specifically for me... is this like The Truman Show or something??

      Hahaha I really liked that movie 😂 Navarre does such a good job of understanding the market and creating products that meet the need. Probably from running the kayak charter business for so long. I was hoping to get the Garmin installed today but it literally rained all day long! Maybe I can get it tomorrow. Thanks for watching man! Spring is not far off 😊

    What is the plastic thing on your seat ? Who makes it? Lumbar support? Thanks great video , thinking about a second kayak being an Old town 106

      @deanknox1019 it's a foam seating cushion. I picked it up at Walmart last year for about $5. It helps keep me comfortable during those 8 hour tournaments. The 106 is a great yak... I wouldn't trade it for any other! Thanks for watching!

    I run rod holders on my tracks, do you think the replacement tracks are sturdier than stock?

    • @yakkittymack
      @yakkittymack  6 місяців тому +1

      @DGFishinAround Yes sir, they are sturdier than stock. He didn't make them crazy thick because if the kayak or accessory hits something, the track needs to be weak enough to break before causing damage to the kayak, but they are def thicker than stock. Thanks for watching man!

    I am having issues with getting my yakattak mounts to enter the stock tracs. I was going to loosen the screws, but can't that cause a weak spot, and definitely a leaky spot?
    Frustrating that it came from the store this tight.
    Secondly, is that drive hole insert you use from Navarre? Any issues with them?
    Great video btw!

      @3LLOut hello friend. When you say you're having trouble getting the mounts to enter, do you mean they aren't fitting in the opening or you can't slide them once they are loaded? Yakattack has those rubber discs on the bottom and depending on the accessory I have sometimes had to take those off to make them fit. If you are having trouble getting it to slide, try loosing the screws, slide it in, and then tighten the screws back, but don't over tighten. Snug is good. Yes, that is the plate from Navarre and it works great. About 95% effective for keeping water out and 100% effective at keeping you from dropping things into the water. I appreciate you watching and commenting and thank you for the compliment! Let me know if you are able to get your accessories to work better.

      @@yakkittymack Correct in that I cannot get the yakattack accessories into the trac at all. I don't remember mine having the rubber bottom, but I need to check to be certain. I will report back what I find out.
      I'm going to order that plate. I mainly want it so I can lift the pdl drive and cover the hole when getting in very shallow water, and also for getting deep into grass/pads.

      @@3LLOut That sounds like the same issue I had with some yakattack accessories. There is like a rubber gasket thing on the bottom that the t-bolt runs through. If you take the t-bolt off and pull the gasket off, that should allow enough clearance to insert the accessory. The insert plate is fantastic. I use it for the same reason you are looking to do. I also have it in while launching and loading. The PDL unit will rest on top and once you reach deep enough water, just pull it out and under the seat it goes. Thanks again!!!
