Now, even entry-level hardware provides over 60 FPS on most older titles. On their higher settings, they look fantastic, especially games like AC Unity and Watch Dogs.
New games are expensive and most of them requires an expensive hardware to be played. That's the main factor why most people don't play new games. Most games on that list are free to play, life-service and cross plataform games that can run in almost any device nowdays, how do you compete with that?
There are a lot of games that I get because someone on UA-cam reviewed it (Mandalore and sseth specifically) and it's because I was never really into gaming as a child and I'm Gen Z, so I've never played anything off the 2000s or the 90s. It's like an adventure xd
What's better in older game mods are the community made gameplay/DLC-sized mods, especially with highly moddable games. I think Fallout and Half-life has a lot of them. But some older games like Vampire the masquerade bloodlines also has a lot.

Aside from Helldivers 2, I've only played older games this year. Just blasted through the Dishonoured series and loved it. Now I'm playing FF9 through for probably the 4th time.
I love the polish of new games but the old games interest me more. I’ve played old games for cheap that would come into my top 20 and top 10. People were definitely more creative and willing to tell bold stories. Also the devs weren’t blue haired feminists who only want to tell stories that fit their narrative.
Sometimes we feel the urge of certain games Last year I played Splinter Cell 1 and Chaos Theory Recently I have been playing Timeshift, those mid-2010 graphics aged well for my standards
I wanted to play a sci-fi FPS with the 2010's aesthetics Singularity you showed in the video was a good one, but already beat some years ago I wish we could play Killzone or Resistance on PC without emulation, but it isn't possible So Timeshift seems like a good choice
In the wise words of Corey Taylor from Slipknot, the line from his banger track called "All Out Life" literally goes "Old does not mean dead, New does not mean best". Old is gold for a reason
For me it started earlier. I've been playing mostly old games for about 6 years now. For me the most important reason today, to play old games..., no DEI agenda!!! Better stories, better gameplay, playing as masculine men or beautiful women..., it's great. I dug out my old PS3 to play Dragon Age Origins again. Old games have more heart and passion. It's just fun! They are simply satisfying gaming experiences, from a time when gaming fun wasn't ruined by political agendas. I rarely buy new games anymore. I used to buy about 16 games a year, but now it's usually only 3 a year. The gaming industry has developed very negatively. I don't want lessons about inclusivity and DEI, I just want to have fun. And DEI kills all fun in games. That's why I rarely buy new games anymore. This year I only bought Astro Bot and Space Marine 2. That's it. My last game this year, what i have bought, was Dead Island 2 from last year. Its a Fun Game. But most of the year I have played games from the 1995 - 2010 era. I'm currently playing Dino Crisis 1 again and it's just great.
Newer games got me digging my old ps2. Some of the disc cant be read anymore so i emulate everything(might as well). Found the reason why i love video game again
As they say "old is gold". My pc isn't that powerful so old games are all I've got, but that's totally fine cuz I'm having a blast playing through them. Earlier this year I played og RE 1 and RE 2 and I 100% bully twice. Old games definitely have more soul to them, now all new games kinda look the same.
Currently playing Hitman 3 (trilogy included) which came out in 2021 but technically it's a 2016 title. Hence awesome. Watchdogs 1 with mods and restored content is basically a 9/10 in 2024.
Because they're not full of woke messaging. I like to be able to play something that doesn't constantly try to tell me I'm in the wrong for being white and male. GTA V is a great game, and yes I like the satirical content that includes casual racism, sexism and all degrees of stereotypes. That's what makes the game entertaining to play, the fact that Sweet Baby Inc has been involved in the development of GTA VI is most likely why the new game will be void of what makes a GTA title. If it is woke, GTA is dead.
The best part about playing older games on PC, is that today’s hardware can run the games in 4k. A few months ago, i played the first Half-Life on PC in 4k on my i5 9400f & gtx 1660 Super because Valve released an anniversary update that added controller support. Now HL2 has an anniversary update. So get a modest PC and play the classics that you missed over the years
Older games is also so much cheaper now, especially on sale. I mostly only buy games on sale. Older games also are at their best state to play like the definitive complete edition w/all dlc and updates. Playing old games on a ps5 is a blast
i still play older games, because when the game i play was released, i was still on high school - uni and cannot afford it now after i finally be able to buy games, i don't have enough time to finished them all, classic 😂😂
Since I have an integrated graphics, that's why I prefer older games. I don't have to worry about making the resolution so low with the lowest settings playing at 20 fps.
I've always been playing older games, I grew up in the early 2000s and my childhood was the financial crash in 08. So for me I've never had the most up to date console with the latest games. Hunting in the bargain bin and getting games off my cousins was how I played them. I remember getting Fallout 3 from my uncle because he didn't enjoy it and I played that game religiously because it was one of the only "modern" games I had. I used to try and get one "expensive" game every christmas and that was usually FIFA or COD. For me then when I finally got money I bought games on release, I remember I got No Man Sky and Fallout 4 on release and I was so disappointed that I didn't go buying games on release again. Those two games scared me and meant when Cyberpunk flopped I wasn't too bothered.
I always was more of an indie games guy, so I overall rarely play top of the line games. But even older indie games were an amazing experience - recently I discovered Celeste, Ion Fury and A Hat in Time years after their launch and was completely amazed by them
Complete, stable, no preaching, awsome stories, and playability on older setups. I picked up the Mafias this year and am in love with Mafia 2 Classic. Same for the others. ACs Origins and Odyssey have charmed me with their worlds and stories. Then there is the Batman Arkham series and Bioshocks. Incredible games that do not break my bank account or laptop.
I play alot of older games. I don't choose to do so, I find them more fun and appealings. Most modern day games are made by big companies and they fail to grasp what the playerbase wants. I don't want to play games that these companies fail at. Modern Day farcry, headshots don't even work. In the new star wars outlaws game, the troopers can't even aim at you.
The gaming industry sucks right now. They taking too long to get new games out and when they do it's broken, woke, or just not fun. Then the industry is obsessed with live service games, remasters and remakes. It's going to be a long time before we get anything close to the PS2 - PS4 Eras.
Some old favorites I like to revisit in the downtime between new releases: Alien Isolation, Fallout 4, STALKER, Rage, Dead Space 1&2, Doom 3, and Half-Life 2. I also snap up remakes/remasters of old games like the recently released PC versions of System Shock, RDR, and The Thing.
I don't know man i really like the old games they got the real gaming vibes ...straight to the point no agenda just the game and even meaningful quests not just kill that and do this.
I dont know if old games are great or better but modern era classics are simply great games and worth playing. They also come well reviewed and you know what to expect.
As of this comment, I went back to the Sly Cooper games. Also, earlier this year, I went to both Prototypes and Bioshock 1, as well as Bioshock Infinite...man, it feels good. Had to get Wukong, Helldivers 2, Space Marine 2 and Astro Bot though. Those were worth the hype.
I've only been playing older games for a while now and I don't regret it. That is not to say that I'm not gonna play games that are new now in the future but I generally am not into buying the hype anymore. It's as you say, I play at my own pace and what I feel like next, without the feeling of urgency to join a current thing out of FOMO. The only thing that does get urgent from time to time is when servers close on a game where I still have to get the online trophies for.^^'
For me, the reason is because older linear games are just pure fun, no open world time wasting mechanics, no filler BS etc. RDR2 "Ride your horse there for 20 min and shoot those guys. Now ride your horse there for 30 min and shoot. Now ride your horse 40 mins and shoot". Witcher 3 "Spend 20 minutes going there and user your witcher senses. Now spend 30 minutes to go there and use your witcher senses. Now, for a change go 40 minutes there and use your witcher senses" BORING BORING BORING.
@@domagojkersun9630 Yeah, and people still consider it as one of the best games ever. That is why we will rarely get fun AAA games in the future, people are impressed with mediocrity.
These games are amazing. Most of the time the only people complaining are the fakes who just need something new to review for their channel. Before allllllllllll these channels we could actually enjoy things without someone tryna shill us and brainwash us so they can get paid more. Just look at all the platform conparisons lol. People forget that most are crossplat compatible, which is the main focus. At this point you would think the PC master race would have sponsored a Xbox vs Ps5 baseball but most people are too dense to actually have fun.

I play a lot of my X360 and OGX games on my Xbox Series X. Recently, I was playing Splinter Cell Conviction and Medal Gear Rising Revengeance on my Xbox Series X and they look and play better on it [basically any X360 game looks and plays better on the Xbox Series X].
i noticed that you mentioned that players have to rush playing game when they come out. I don't understand your point. For example, when assassin's creed mirage came out, i felt no rush to finish it, so i'm confused here.
Most of us “rush” to play the games launched just to be able to play the next 3 releases coming next, on day one. Also if you and your friends play the same game, you have the fear of them spoil the game if you don’t finish when they finish.
Biggest one. Performance! Games are built with some future hypothetical computer. With years of hardware improvements older games can run happily on modern machines.
I felt exaclty like that when Tango Anounced and later launched The Evil Within 2. I got hyped but then i told me, hold on, what if i go check the first game the 2014 The Evil Within. Honestly the reviews of that game at the time didnt make it justice, they always showed a few clips that for some reason look very similar one another, giving the feel that the game is always like that, in particular the Laura boss fight part, seems like all reviewers focused too much on that scenario and also the chainsaw chase. So i decided to give a try to the original game, and oh boy i found a gem of a game there, at the end it wasn't that claustrophobic and bore looking as they show. Its not a perfect game sure, that part was true, but there so much more to see and to explore than just what they showed at the release time. Memorable characters, a story a bit weird and even cliche in some aspects but very well narrated, exagerated just about enough so it get dirty perfect for a survival horror game. Really enjoyed the game as i was waiting for the second part to launch. Its worth to point out something more, old games usually run very well in modern hardware even on mid to low end systems. I mean if you buy the cheapest pc possible for this late 2024, i dont know something like an i3 12100f with 8gb ram and even a GTX 1650 or an Rx 6500 or something like that. You could probably play most of AAA titles of the 8th gen of consoles and everything behind.
I honestly completely agree with AC Unity as I played it at launch and it’s not an overreaction when I say it was riddled with problems and bugs it was genuinely and legitimately unplayable but now a decade later I played the Xbox Series version with the 60fps patch plus all those years of updates and fixes it feels and looks like a new game it’s so much more fun and better to play now
I think another part that matters, is the story telling. I feel like older games had better writing. Even when I revisit these games, they just feel idk... like they consume me more from story and design that newer ones. While the new games feel more fun for gameplay and graphics, they lack the personal touch sometimes. To your point though, mods can remake an experience. Often I've picked up a new game thinking "man, I cant wait to see what this is like in a year and what mods standout the most."
Good thing there are indie games passionate devs. Mods, mods like games. Games made.from mods to enjoy. You dont have to believe what everyone tells you about the market crises and stuff. It has been better than ever. Just becase bug publishers try to sell you lies and trash doesnt change there are constsntly.better things out and coming out. Big publisher games only.make up.a small portion of games that come out at any point and time.
A great game is a great game. When it was made is irrelevant. I think Bethesda kind of nailed it when the FO TV show came out. Instead of trying to push some new rushed FO title, they sold thousands of copies of games that have already been made and paid for.
I've replayed watch_dogs 2 a bunch of times. I find it to be the best of the trilogy. It's not as dark as the first one, and while the story is a bit weaker, it's still better than the third one. The game-play is also much better than the first one IMO. For example, I really hated the ambush missions from the first game, mainly because of the limited time you have to prepare. The ambush missions in second game were some of my favorites. I also really ennjoy using the drones in the second and third game. Another game that i got recently was Ghost of Tsushima and it's great!

I prefer older games compared to the half assed buggy messy, DEI ridden and generic souless and sanitized corporate slop we get nowdays.
Well said bro
Aside from Helldivers 2, I've only played older games this year. Just blasted through the Dishonoured series and loved it. Now I'm playing FF9 through for probably the 4th time.
Finished Arkham asylum, BioShock 1, Dishonored 1
Currently playing tomb raider, it's goated.
I love the polish of new games but the old games interest me more. I’ve played old games for cheap that would come into my top 20 and top 10. People were definitely more creative and willing to tell bold stories. Also the devs weren’t blue haired feminists who only want to tell stories that fit their narrative.
Sometimes we feel the urge of certain games
Last year I played Splinter Cell 1 and Chaos Theory
Recently I have been playing Timeshift, those mid-2010 graphics aged well for my standards
I wanted to play a sci-fi FPS with the 2010's aesthetics
Singularity you showed in the video was a good one, but already beat some years ago
I wish we could play Killzone or Resistance on PC without emulation, but it isn't possible
So Timeshift seems like a good choice
I also have a SteamDeck, and I've been playing Lost Planet 3
I've been playing old games after red dead redemption 2 came out
In the wise words of Corey Taylor from Slipknot, the line from his banger track called "All Out Life" literally goes "Old does not mean dead, New does not mean best".
You said it better than me! ❤️
it still amazes me to this day that im one of the only people on earth that knows about the rakyat mod for far cry 3.
FC3 is the definition of WHEN it went wrong tho
Newer games got me digging my old ps2. Some of the disc cant be read anymore so i emulate everything(might as well). Found the reason why i love video game again
As they say "old is gold". My pc isn't that powerful so old games are all I've got, but that's totally fine cuz I'm having a blast playing through them. Earlier this year I played og RE 1 and RE 2 and I 100% bully twice. Old games definitely have more soul to them, now all new games kinda look the same.
Because there is nothing to play lmao
If it is woke, GTA is dead.
delusion
The best part about playing older games on PC, is that today’s hardware can run the games in 4k. A few months ago, i played the first Half-Life on PC in 4k on my i5 9400f & gtx 1660 Super because Valve released an anniversary update that added controller support. Now HL2 has an anniversary update. So get a modest PC and play the classics that you missed over the years
I spent allot time this year playing old games. There was nothing that interested me.
Now is all graphics, remakes or woke propaganda where gameplay or story don't care anymore.
splinter cell on ps2 emulator
Been doing Farcry 3 and Borderlands 3 for December 2024. FC3 takes me back to high school days
Older games is also so much cheaper now, especially on sale. I mostly only buy games on sale. Older games also are at their best state to play like the definitive complete edition w/all dlc and updates. Playing old games on a ps5 is a blast
Winter sale on steam, so many good old games out there.
i still play older games, because when the game i play was released, i was still on high school - uni and cannot afford it
now after i finally be able to buy games, i don't have enough time to finished them all, classic 😂😂
Since I have an integrated graphics, that's why I prefer older games. I don't have to worry about making the resolution so low with the lowest settings playing at 20 fps.
It's the decade of the backlog.
Most of the old games are the best but some of the new games are just as good as old games
Similar to my story but great times tbh.
Incredible games that do not break my bank account or laptop.
only "problem" with older games is lack of ultrawide support and often limited to 60fps
4:25 that is not the launch version, it's the 2018 demo.
Better stories, more original.
Bringing special powers in FPS and TPS was good for the short term but very bad for the long term.
The gaming industry sucks right now. They taking too long to get new games out and when they do it's broken, woke, or just not fun. Then the industry is obsessed with live service games, remasters and remakes. It's going to be a long time before we get anything close to the PS2 - PS4 Eras.
yes but sometimes they don't work properly with new hardware we can find fixes but not always
That’s a good point too.
Cause they are better
Old games run way better than UE5 releases.
Witcher 3 also has one of the most dumb braindead gameplay ever.
@@domagojkersun9630 Yeah, and people still consider it as one of the best games ever. That is why we will rarely get fun AAA games in the future, people are impressed with mediocrity.
Ok Boomer @@MarkoGV1
@@arthurgamerpro6585 Ok pro gamer
@@MarkoGV1 Okay, go play Atari, and by the way, I prefer to play games from 2006 to 2016
Same thing happened with me when I bought assassin creed syndicate & unity. Never bought on launch but got sudden urge to play it on my ps5
Not to mention many game players have a better system today than when the games released - giving them the better experience now than before.
Yes, that too! 🫣
Because new games are
Now the older games are going to get huge bump in price bc everyone playing them haha
The answer: No woke bullshit
That might be the main reason.
Just one of many reasons...
@@ClearWing-x5c One of the basic reasons people play games is to escape from reality, in addition to experiencing the release of endorphins. However, woke activists have forced their real-world political agendas into games, which is why gamers dislike it so much.

And *NO* Upscaling, Temporary Post Processing Anti-Aliasing or Ghosting.
I played old games because my pc can't run new games, I mostly play 2010-2018 games (but some games in 2017/2018 release can't run it)
I got the MGS Legacy Collection. It's great.
I pick games up on physical
What is the game after max Payne the one with the cool ass revolver at 6:01
Singularity 2010 - ua-cam.com/video/Uy0tHpU6VSs/v-deo.htmlsi=kpeE8Jh1VG8941ZQ
Also if you and your friends play the same game, you have the fear of them spoil the game if you don’t finish when they finish.
sht they right,I thought it was only me but dyum.
I'm playing the evil within 1 and it's really enjoyable 🔥
6:38 what game is that?
Singularity (2010)
I honestly completely agree with AC Unity as I played it at launch and it’s not an overreaction when I say it was riddled with problems and bugs it was genuinely and legitimately unplayable but now a decade later I played the Xbox Series version with the 60fps patch plus all those years of updates and fixes it feels and looks like a new game it’s so much more fun and better to play now
It’s the only AC that I finished. Same with Far Cry 3.
I have all the new games and console but go back to play ps2 and dreamcast and original Xbox and Xbox 360
I agree! Indie games FTW! ❤️
A great game is a great game. When it was made is irrelevant.
I think Bethesda kind of nailed it when the FO TV show came out. Instead of trying to push some new rushed FO title, they sold thousands of copies of games that have already been made and paid for.
what game are you playing at 6:06? thanks
It’s in the latest video posted. An underrated gem, Singularity 2010.
What's the game at 0:44?
Mortal Kombat 11
I've replayed watch_dogs 2 a bunch of times. I find it to be the best of the trilogy. It's not as dark as the first one, and while the story is a bit weaker, it's still better than the third one.
The game-play is also much better than the first one IMO. For example, I really hated the ambush missions from the first game, mainly because of the limited time you have to prepare. The ambush missions in second game were some of my favorites. I also really ennjoy using the drones in the second and third game.
Another game that i got recently was Ghost of Tsushima and it's great!
Ive been emulating ps2 on my laptop for past year and a half I’ve been diving into a lot of the ps2 games I never got to play as a kid (I only had GTA San Andreas) now I have a steam deck and it’s a emulating machine
Good choice with steam deck ;)
I bought the Anbernic SP this year. I'm not gonna be playing newer games any time soon.
No woke agenda, passionate devolpers instead of activists, goal was to give gamers a good time instead of a lession, passion..
Great video. Keep up the good work. God bless
Thank you! 🤗
