the PS3/360 era was full of innovative and exciting shooters with clever gimmics to them. This is definitely one of the good ones. Raven has made so many brill games over the decades too. My faves from them are the Soldier of Fortune games on PC. Used to play them all the time in the early 00's.
The golden age of gaming imo, back when developers HAD to be creative for the games to sell. Nowadays games will be "rinse and repeat" and people will still eat that shit up
One of the first games I played when I started my FPS tour of duty several years ago. This game hits so hard with its creativity. Even forced out the door early, it still shines brightly.
I was one of the (I guess) few who did play this back then, and I loved it! Still loved it when I replayed it about a year ago. Time for another playthrough soon 🙂
At the time I was quite excited for the game, I was looking forward to it before it’s release. But when the game came out it got poor reviews and people seemed to agree that it wasn’t very good. That’s why I never actually played it.
Anything that's not catering to the "dick measuring online contest" masses is a no-go for the major studios today. Rarely we see a focused single player action game coming out of AAA studios, and those that do are usually crammed with cosmetic DLC cause visual progression needs to be locked behind a paywall as to let the twitch streamers have something to brag about. Good on you for bringing some attention to this incredible old gem. This is the best time to go back to the classics!
I was so hooked on ME2, never saw this beauty. And really felt bitter and sad at the end by seeing the putrid state game industries are today: instead of bangers coming out left and right, we get dumb, mindless, pathetic attempts of games as options and we have to be satisfied we the least crappy one. Every single great studio was bought out by giant companies and now they dictate the pace at which we are allowed to get good games.
I saw this game in my younger days and was highly intrigued..why TF I didn't pick it up had to be a distraction from another game. Probably mw2 or fallout series took me away F up part is, I see my nephew making the same mistakes and getting swayed by the hype train. Fortnight games getting his attention while I try and recommend games like Red Dead, witcher, fallout series etc. I'm going to take a second jab at this game, but I won't finish your video just to prevent spoilers. Although if it can't stand the test of time I may abandon it.. 🤞🏽
Back when activision allowed creativity. Now its all about cod slop.
Yeah, money, money, money… it’s all about money.
@@GamesYearsLater You'd think the more money you get you'd actually be able to take more risks but, it's the opposite
Singularity is amazing, one of my childhood's favorite games

You had me at hexen and heretic, two of my all time faves. Putting this on my list. Thanks
I loved this game. Too bad it was the black sheep for activision
I miss Raven soft. I mean, every COD they've worked had an amazing storyline and some very fun missions, but I miss their games

Really good video! It's the first video that I've seen on your channel.👍 Also, Singularity is one of my favorite childhood video games.
Thank you, but I need to improve a lot.

First time hearing about this game. Definitely gonna give it a shot.
It's an amazing horror shooter, very atmospheric 👌
Thanx for the core gaming memory unlock. Dunno if I had it on console or PC but I played on something...
I played and loved it just last year! Really felt like a lost gem.
I guess I'm Nobody then. I completed the campaign.
haha. how was it?
First I ever heard of it, looks amazing and I'm not even a FPS fan. And Hexen devs? That alone could have been pushed in marketing, WTH.
I played it when it first come out and it was amazing
I played it when it first come out and it was amazing then
Dude this was a very popular game when it came out. There was a trailer there was hype and people liked it.
“Activision was disappointed with Singularity's sales, which came out under 400,000.” - not so much.
This is the first time I've heard about it

There are no spoilers, just the story behind it being created.
Damn this game looked rough back then and even rougher now lol
Extremely mediocre, this game is far from amazing.
If mediocre means extremely polished but slightly generic, well that's significantly better than was we get today lol
you are far from it
The spider scared the hell out of me.
