4:20 I think about Morrowind surprisingly often, mostly because of the bitter irony of its existence. Morrowind wasn't afraid to show its bones, its technical limitations, but also the zaniness that can come from digital gaming. It promised a bright future, and provided a fun if flawed experience. The level of attention to detail that you can find in Morrowind is greater than that of any other Bethesda RPG that I can recall, however. Oblivion automated too much and had too small of a budget, losing those details in the process. Skyrim optimized and streamlined everything, leading to plenty of cool details still existing, but most of Skyrim feels like a game while many of Morrowind's towns feel somewhat more lived-in. Between the Elder Scrolls games and the Fallout series, the bright future that I expected from gaming seems to have fizzled out. It's a little depressing, though Oblivion and Skyrim are still great games for their respective times. It's just weird to see technology leap further and further ahead while the gameplay mechanics and storytelling aspect of video games remain relatively stale.
Agreed. Video games these days are trying to be cheap imitations of films more than games. The entire reason gaming exists, its interactivity, has become unpopular. The recurring skit of you killing people who have cool looking clothes for them regardless of how easy or hard it is to actually find the pieces is my favorite recurring joke in your Morrowind videos next to "Thus the name".
20:19 I see TR is making up for years of Bethesda neglecting Colovian fur helms (and really all things Colovian)... by adding a shop that sells a whole range of Colovian hats. This is why I love the community. God bless modders and hats off to Warlockracy for reminding us every year that MW is still the best.
You got me into Morrowind, giving OpenMW a try and it has been my best vanilla TES experience. Glad to see more videos. There certainly could be an entire series just on the TR content.
Maybe atmosphere and roleplaying, but the actual gamplay systems are mostly incredibly archaic and are only getting worse and worse as time goes on lol. We're used to the jank and can deal with it, but the average person will get off the boat at Seyda and go "what the fuck is this mess" Kinda a bit of a circlejerk to act like Morrowind hasn't aged poorly as an actual game imo, especially when it was already outmoded in many ways when it originally came out
I didn't say it was the most perfect game ever made, I said it only aged better with time. Presuming, naturally, I'd be saying that as a fan of the game. And other fans of the game still playing it would likely agree. Certainly it would be ridiculous to say it's not antiquated, and a product of a period of experimentation in game design. But I don't know what to say, I lambast nobody turned off from the game because mother of god yes, it is innaccessible. There are things about it that make me want to tear my hair out. But the fact that the game has such a consistently healthy player base years later should also tell you that it is, for many of us, a rough diamond we can see the shine in. It's jam-packed with so many interesting and fascinating and rich ideas, systems and features, that game development has either forgotten, or left unexploited. And it's those that compel me to return to it time and again, and to continue to enjoy it, time and again. It's hard to say what it is, but I find I only enjoy Morrowind more, as I get older.
To expand on and also push back a little on your point, I think Morrowind is def one of those games that are an acquired taste. Even back when it was released people had difficulty getting into it cuz it was a 3D fps RPG with 90s iso RPG mechanics. That blend was just as off-putting and weird back then as it is now, but as it stands, it is one of only a few games ever made to blend those styles. Kenshi is the only other one I can really think of that follows that formula but it sticks to the iso formula rather than it being a FPS. I also believe the fact Morrowind is so moddable is why it is popular to this day. There are a lot of mods that do improve the gameplay by a large margin, such as removing the maddening hidden dice roll combat for a more streamlined "if you are close enough to hit it you can deal damage, the amount just depends on your stats" style, so it saves newcomers a lot of time and frustration trying to decipher a (by this point) ancient gameplay meta that even people who prefer it say is not for everyone. Also the art style and world building of Morrowind (disregarding the sequel's retcons and updates) is very unique and appealing. Morrowind is a very alien world compared to any other Elder scrolls game, which keeps people wondering what other whacky new things they may be able to see.
I love Morrowind. Playing it always feels like you've stepped into a fantasy, another realm of existence. It felt that way back in 2003 and it still feels that way now.
I just recently started modding Morrowind because of your Skyrim: Home of the Nords video. I saw that video and I felt like I just had to play that mod. So thank you for getting me into modding! it has made playing Morrowind much more enjoyable!
Loved the video! It's such a weird experience to see people playing quests you made and reacting to it (in a good way) (I made the Firewatch and Helnim Fighter's Guild quests, as well as the Andothren Morag Tong content -- also the Firewatch and Ancylis Legion stuff, but nobody likes the IL lmao (worst faction)). Loved your bewilderment at Darythi's orders -- the desired effect was achieved 😄
Morrowind will never die because it's fans are some of the most dedicated and creative ones out there, despite Bathesda not giving it the love it deserves. Excited to watch another of your great videos on Morrowind!
Todd is personally against remastering Morrowind because he respects the game for what it is. Also, probably has trauma from the crunch and near-bankruptcy that Bethesda faced when developing TES III so he doesn’t want to “delegitimise” the pain of the original developer team.
I really enjoy the way you engage the viewer with the world in your videos. The way you combine role playing, lore exploration and video review is masterful. Cheers
Finally got to mod Morrowind this year after having only ever played it backwards compatible on Xbox. Your videos definitely played a large part in motivating me to work through my lack of modding experience and get the game playing properly. I was stunned by the sheer scale of Tamriel Rebuilt when I played it myself, and when combined with increased viewing distance I got to experience the beauty of Morrowind in a way I never knew was possible. One of my favorite experiences was getting lost in the ruins of Kemel-Ze for a few hours. Tamriel Rebuilt has to be the greatest mod of all time for any game.
A friend of mine played Morrowind in VR and said it was even more beautiful than Skyrim VR, I hope Tamriel Rebuilt will become VR compatible, like you say the beauty is immense and imagine being there in VR, even old games could become modern and even more amazing with new technology.
Aww man! I just rewatched your Morrowind playlist and started playing it again for the first time in 15 odd years. With Tamriel Rebuilt and Home of the Nords, plus a few other things. Been loving it so far.
I’ll take Skyrim over oblivion any day of the week. Both have shit writing, both combat systems revolve around tickling your enemies with pool noodles, but at least Skyrim looks nice. Skyrim can be made into serviceable survival game, but salvaging oblivion is Sisyphean task.
Yep. Not only was oblivion the start of tge downfall, but the graphics are way worse than morrowind with those rounded faces and the excessive bloom. Also, that generic fantasy setting. The problem is that too many people started with oblivion... s@@max7971at least skyrim was a leap forward graphically at that time so i did play skyrim 3 times (befire getting bored and never touching it again because every playtgrough ends up being the same)
Would love to see Warlock just do more videos on differing quests etc in this morrowind “expansion”, some of the best voice over dialogue I have heard to date. Always look forward to his vids
I wish I could like this video twice. You know what would be amazing? You doing a full playthrough of original Morrowind and Tamriel Rebuilt. Maybe some day, yea?
I have been playing Morrowind again (for the 8262552nd time since 2003) while having your videos playing in the background. I enjoy your work so much! Specially the Morrowind specials. If finances are good this month I'll try to pay you back by subscribing to your Patreon. Now I gotta survive for a couple of hours until I finish work and enjoy this video fully.
Always love your content, this one brought back some memories for me. I can remember my late mother walking by my door while I was playing Morrowind she said she could not believe the music and how it was so beautiful. I felt kinda justified for playing 16 hour nonstop lol.
Oh hell yeah, always love to see you do a video on Morrowind and even more so to see an update on the fantastic work the TR team has done for the new expansion
Really enjoy the Morrowind theory opening, got me thinking. I think that is the truth of it the small details, but also the grown familiarity that people often claim it resonates with. If anything somehow it manages to marry the bizarre and hostile atmosphere as real and almost traditionally cosmopolitan (Have a 500+ modset and I launch it to just wander around cities/towns more than quest). It's initial presentation (implying the players(Very) first exp. w/ it) to the player with an almost in-built hostility (mechanics-wise too), the player is "Outlander"/"S'wit"/"N'wah" in context to the story of integrating into the Dunmer's myth to be revered, the flora/fauna are varyingly strange and hostile, magic as you pointed out has a double-edged and compound effect as do the gods that grant and wield the very same forces. In that hostility it rewards those who challenge it, in it's oddity it rewards those who question it, it achieves to an affect the pursuit of almost every fantasy author or creator to fully immerse and engage the presentee into the rules and arrangement of a world that one in any normal circumstance would reject and makes itself belivable in both making the player aware of their fragility/ignorance of the reality it's dropping them in, but also allowing them to come to fully "know" it (I know that the medium of a video game already has the barrier of true presentism, but give me a bone here) which is pretty unique to Morrowind's depiction in the regard that it keeps you in it's believable frame. (until an npc walks incessantly into a wall..) I know that TES as a whole is really what I'm singing praises to or other series around the time, but in seeing how the Devs of this very mod and associated projects are working and having dabbled with the CS myself (the clunky, but being improved upon thing that it is lol) it's easy to use but also in it's own sense having a hostility (eh? lol no..) asks for that slow determined pace of execution and consideration (Really the more with less idea although you can always make more assets/fx/etc.. so I dunno strange paradox there (capability/will?)). Really when making an int/ext with the approach of someone seriously trying to depict the world as TR is doing (Yes leads to a slow cottage style((as long as staff are limited in a sense?))production with potential ever-fractalizing detail granularity bloat blah blah) is it's creating still-lifes of a reality in unreality (high-falootin theory stuff I know). The other part of this is that it's community really lives up to the idea that Kirkbride and co. put into it in that (as you pointed out) 90's-00's game industry that had a respect/"power to the player" spirit and the idea of c0da (I know Kirkbride deism...) that really they took and ran with to the present day. I mean come on the OpenMW team is now making a standalone game engine out of what was a project to revitalize/preserve it. Out of everything really, I think Morrowind got enough things right at just the right time to now honestly be getting into another renaissance with renewed interest and all the new tech.
Those two games literally are in a caliber of their own, unmatched levels of detail. Granted, theres almost two decades worth of technological progress from TESIII to RDR2, but they're both immaculately detailed games in their own ways
With the love it gets through the ages, I really hope Bethesda gets the message and has the courage to go to the hist or elsweyr. The alien factor of Morrowind's setting might turn off some players, but those who have stuck around found the escapism on offer to be endearing I feel.
The new content just shows as usual that the modders behind Tamriel Rebuilt are simply the most dedicated, passionate, and talented team in the realm of PC modding. Great video about a game that is truly timeless.
It’s so cool to watch this after doing all the Hlaalu TR content in my latest playthrough and seeing characters I remember interacting with different factions questlines. Great mod.
It's my favorite game of all time and big mods like this continue keep it that way. Currently playing another playthrough and Tamriel Rebuilt is amazing. I'm honestly hoping for the Redoran areas and the ones across the solsthiem coast they aren't finished but you can see some of the areas and the mix of snowy and Nordic and Dunmer architecture and land will be really awesome once completed I bet.
Please Mister Warlockracy, cover all of Tamriel rebuilt. I love the way you narrative your videos and absolutely love Morrowind. Such great story telling and immersive
Another great addition to the video series. This series is the reason why I bought Morrowind not too long ago. I played a bit of vanilla but decided I definitely want to mod it for my first playthrough. I’m thinking I’ll wait for that project: cyrodiil update to begin. I still have playthroughs from other games I want to finish first anyways. Thanks for the entertainment!
People talk about Morrowind because it is the last actual RPG Bethesda made. Everything that came after was about exploration and being "cinematically epic" - not that Morrowind wasn't either of those things, it just also had the mechanical foundations the later games lacked. To put it another way; Morrowind was the last Elder Scrolls title Bethesda didn't dumb down for mass market appeal.
Morrowind and Fallout NV was the last time Bethesda ever made games with passion and love as a focus. It's sad to see how much Beth had devolve from a bunch of passionate nerds who tried making rpgs because they were inspired by the very thing they love to a stale dry company that tried replicating their glory days to no success
Morrowind was absolutely dumbed down for mass market appeal lol, people complained about that a bunch when it first came out. It's significantly simpler and more streamlined than daggerfall, regardless of that being a good choice or not. It's really not a terribly complex game, you're kidding yourself if you think bethesda wasn't trying to appeal to a wider market than other more difficult to learn rpgs.
@@realname8362I think it’s more that Bethesda created two distinct RPG’s that hit incredibly high notes in two entirely different niches but managed to be extremely well made and in-depth in their own subgenre. Daggerfall, a vast fantasy life simulation with a realistically sized world, but minimal interactions on a more personal level and lacking as much handwritten/hand placed material. Morrowind, a much smaller scope in physical size and “simulation” but had infinitely deeper characterization, personality, and interpersonal interaction with many little deliberate touches by the developers. I’ll never argue Morrowind is superior to Daggerfall or vice versa, because I think they were both Bethesda’s only actual passion projects that came out spectacularly. As for the other games in the series, well, they failed at doing what either of those titles managed to do.
Tamriel Rebuilt's new addition w/ Ember of the Empires and their revamp of Firewatch was great to play through. For those of you interested on keeping up to date with the project, the mod has a discord. Can't wait to see how they expand southwards as I've heard that's what they're planning for Den of Thieves
@@veryrare432hz It took them two decades to do about 80% of the Morrowind Province. How many centuries do you think will take them to complete Tamriel?
@@PointReflex 2060 is my guess if they dont lose motivation before. There is little chances that beyond skyrim could be finished in that Time scope, but its possible that We can get 2 or 3 provinces. So Im kinda optimist for both projects. The scope of these mods are game sized So its normal that it takes time, but i believe it can be done, the more people the better tho.
@@veryrare432hz The problem is the following: it is pointless to do Tamriel. Because the quality will go head first into the ground once you have to take into consideration every single micro-managed little unique detail of every province, their lore and unique factions, characters and locations. Then there is the issue with the music, the voices and the overall geographical and urban unique meshes for every single province. On top of this are the quests and let's not forget that everything has to have a porpuse beyond just exploration with a gigantinc mega plot that ties everything in Tamriel into one big mega quest (something Bethesda tried with Arena and failed in so many levels due to the insane scope of the map). Better to have one tightly polished and complete Morrowind than a 200 years proyect with half hassed plots and factions limited to the (to this day and age) generic quest system of Morrowind.
@@PointReflex hi guys I’d like to explain that the whole of Tamriel is being done. There are a host of other province projects under different names most of which are under Project Tamriel who work in close association with Tamriel Rebuilt. Some already have released content. Go on their discords to find out more.
I think the reason people still get excited about Morrowind, besides nostalgia, comes down to the art/world design. It's incredibly unique, I don't know if I've ever seen a game before or since that has a similar aesthetic. It feels very alien and full of wonder and mystery.
I thought about that myself at one point and I believe at a surface level they looked at it as dark elves and followed the Dungeons & Dragons under dark for the beginnings of their inspiration
Dude, your editing is superb! I can imagine the intro/explainer section took several hours to source and build; really good stuff! TR is absolutely fantastic too, I want to do some deep dives of each expansion at some point!
God, I almost cried when I heard the music at the very beginning. For a brief moment, I was back in my dorm in 2009, starting a very early version of Tamriel Rebuilt. Even though it was just a mostly-empty Telvanni Isles, it was like discovering a whole new world.
I absolutely love your Tamriel Rebuilt videos and would watch completely unedited content for tens of hours. Keep trying to build my own version in OpenMW but... I get modding megalomania and never complete my list. I just keep building.
The video was fantastic, It's great to see you return to Tamriel Rebuilt as your original videos on the project is what got me to subscribe to your channel.
I recently started a new Tamriel Rebuilt playthrough after seeing that there's really good Hlaalu and Thieves Guild content on the mainland, and holy cow is Andothren awesome! I've been playing TR for years but I really only spent time in Old Ebonheart, Firewatch, and the doing Telvanni shenanigans in the east, I can't believe there's multiple cities of this size and quality in this one project. To anyone watching this that's interested in Tamriel Rebuilt, you should definitely check out the dedicated sections on the UESP. All of the content is awesome, but it's a giant landmass and it doesn't quite have the signposting of the original Morrowind, so you should look up where to go to start specific guild questlines. The Mages and Fighters guilds are in every major settlement, but finding Telvanni Lords or Thieves Guild agents to start the questlines is tough without looking it up.
To me Morrowind is my childhood. Games like this are the only connection i had or shared passion with my father. I was 11 years old when it released and when i played it. English is not my first language so it was difficult to understand the game but that only made it more magical and complex. But yea Morrowind, or for example Baldurs gate. Childhood Nostalgia to the max.
Oblivion is a great game but I really can't decide between it and Morrowind, they both stand alone in my mind but if I were having to play one game till the day I died errr $#$?_ I would have to say Morrowind esp with all these mods. I have not seen massive new content like Morrowinds gotten on any video game.
Tamriel Rebuilt continues to amaze me as one of the single best modding project in all of gaming, and your relaxing content about it is very comfy! Will you ever cover Morrowind with Co-Op and other interesting big mods?
The quest design in Tamriel Rebuilt is honestly incredible. I've only had a chance to play through the Telvanni-related content (I.E. the oldest content) but even that felt like it had been in the game all along.
Man your 3rd video and I gain totally different perspective on morrowind overall game. I never played as fighter mercenary. Now I know there is no only looting how to engage game to make money. This mods are fantastic and you have new sub
Just want to say thank you for getting me to play this game. I haven’t had an experience with an rpg for years. I thought the magic I had when I first played Skyrim or new Vegas was gone but Morrowind I had that exact same magic. Awesome content keep it up
I never got to play Morrowind as a kid until several years after playing Oblivion and I just couldn't get into it, still can't honestly but I do enjoy these videos. So thanks for allowing me to adventure through Morrowind vicariously through you.
Morrowind has always been difficult for me to engage with. Always super excited to see long form videos deep diving into content surrounding the game to figure out how to actually play it and enjoy it. Gonna give it another try soon. Thanks for the video
Quick tip: manage your fatigue - it's the most important thing in the game - without it you can't do anything. So make sure to go in fights with it full (either via rest or potions). It also influences trade, cast chance and npc first time disposition If you sort it out, your hits will connect most of the time and magic will be casted correctly
Another tip: Don't be scared of just playing blind. Messing up and persevering is the most fun way of engaging with it, every pc becomes god of the world eventually. Whether bruteforcing obtuse systems or working out the (many, many) crazy exploits it's all valid. The meat of the 'game' part of Morrowind is discovering the mechanics; you're mostly there for the exploration.
@@theamazingbatboy By pure chance the first time I ever played it I chose athletics and apothecary which are a very broken combo in the sense that you level basically everything without really needing to know any of the rules. Just run everywhere and eat every new plant you encounter. Pretty soon you are able to create potions that negate the magic and combat of the even the strongest enemies. I would recommend it for a first playthrough where you just want to explore.
I first played Morrowind right after it came out when I was in 2nd grade. It was My dad's birthday at the time and my Mom picked out a few PC games she thought he'd like. One of the was Morrowind. Now even at that age, PC gaming was my life. I knew more about Unreal Tournament '99 than I did about my family lol. So obviously I was gonna be playing Morrowind. The day I fired that shit up - my life changed. Never in my life did I think I'd ever play a game that had EVERYTHING the way Morrowind did at the time. And then my older brother got into it - and we'd stay up from dawn until dusk playing the game and messing around with the editor. In fact, I played the game so much that I had the worst fever dream of my life to date - and it was Morrowind themed. Morrowind is a truly a work of art and it brought me so much joy and fun and memories. And getting to see how far the modding community has come - just wow. I remember when PlanetElderScrolls was the one stop shop for mods xD
Amazing! Morrowind was already BADASS. Combine that with mods mixed with a extremely easy to use construction set that gives you all the dev tools to create anything. Now OPENMW brought it to a whole new dimension of beauty mixed with the multiplayer addition TES3MP that tuns this into a MMORPG or whatever you choose to MAKE & MOD IN. There are no words.... Fluid stable Morrowind 60+ players...yea.... 🔥
That line " tell her you play world of tanks" earned you a sub 🤣. I recall playing this "mod" way back when Oblivion was still new, and honestly forgot about it. More recently with the tsunami of rushed, incomplete, awful games and uninspired lazy devs and greedy publishers being commonplace I find myself going back and playing older games more and more, because they are actually fun. I am glad I found this video while looking for lore tidbits, I now know what I will be doing for the next few years. lol. I never realised how much I missed Morrowind. even the mighty skyrim is like generic trash compared to it. My hope is that one day Bethesda will use planet-tech to make an actual full and complete planet Nirn, a real fully traversable planet complete with vast oceans and continents, moons and a real day/night cycle with no loading screens. Much like Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, No Mans Sky etc have done for years. Its more than possible as they only need to make one planet not a universe or even a solar system. all the tools and resources are there. the only new content would be the other continents like Akavir etc which could be DLCs that came out for years afterwards. Its a crazy dream, but more than possible with current technology that has been out for years already. Thank you for making this video.
My favorite thing about morrowind is that you actually have to work to gain. Oblivion and Skyrim are cool, but you really don't get punished for being useless.
i dont know what it is but morrowind just feels like the perfect medium to tell Elderscrolls story/ history. just wish it had oblivion magic that you could use while wielding weapons.

"Having too many friends is not a problem you have, Bosmer!" - quote of the episode.
"Tell her you play World of Tank"
I love Morrowind. Playing it always feels like you've stepped into a fantasy, another realm of existence.
It felt that way back in 2003 and it still feels that way now.
I just recently started modding Morrowind because of your Skyrim: Home of the Nords video. I saw that video and I felt like I just had to play that mod. So thank you for getting me into modding! it has made playing Morrowind much more enjoyable!
Yeah me too and i loved it, for me personally even the best mod

I'm kind of glad Bethesda just let this one get away tbh.
@@theamazingbatboy I agree, there is no way they wouldn't break all sorts of things.
Todd is personally against remastering Morrowind because he respects the game for what it is. Also, probably has trauma from the crunch and near-bankruptcy that Bethesda faced when developing TES III so he doesn’t want to “delegitimise” the pain of the original developer team.
@@theamazingbatboy No kidding.
Its not about mods(they do help a lot tho) it just people LOVE alien vibes they get from Morrowind aesthetic. There's no games like these on market.
I really enjoy the way you engage the viewer with the world in your videos. The way you combine role playing, lore exploration and video review is masterful. Cheers
Very excited for all the lua mods that will be coming to OpenMW 0.48
I just binged all of Warlocracy Morrowind videos and I’m dying for more
Yes, more Morrowind content! There's only so many times I can revisit the Emba-5 video!
There’s an undefinable comfiness to Morrowind, I think, which keeps us coming back to it 20 years on
Probably the best mod ever created for any game ever.
An absolute masterpiece! Thanks for the video, man. Cheers.

Very good memory.
Aww man! I just rewatched your Morrowind playlist and started playing it again for the first time in 15 odd years. With Tamriel Rebuilt and Home of the Nords, plus a few other things. Been loving it so far.
Warlockracy's style of video is very particular, it's hard to describe but even harder to look away from.
Semi essay semi role play narrative
Morrowind: Lightning in a Bottle
Oblivion: Water in a bottle.
Skyrim: Fart in a bottle.
Starfield: Stumbled over Skyrim´s Bottle and crushed its head into concrete
I’ll take Skyrim over oblivion any day of the week. Both have shit writing, both combat systems revolve around tickling your enemies with pool noodles, but at least Skyrim looks nice. Skyrim can be made into serviceable survival game, but salvaging oblivion is Sisyphean task.
Yep. Not only was oblivion the start of tge downfall, but the graphics are way worse than morrowind with those rounded faces and the excessive bloom. Also, that generic fantasy setting. The problem is that too many people started with oblivion... s@@max7971at least skyrim was a leap forward graphically at that time so i did play skyrim 3 times (befire getting bored and never touching it again because every playtgrough ends up being the same)
I was having a bad day. 55 mins of Warlockracy is a god send for my mental health!
Would love to see Warlock just do more videos on differing quests etc in this morrowind “expansion”, some of the best voice over dialogue I have heard to date. Always look forward to his vids
Please do more Morrowind videos! They are amazing, your narration give the entire video a amazing life!
My friends and I started a TES3MP save with several of the mods shown off in your videos after watching them, glad this series is still going.
That Fighters' Guild quest with the platform and the gate is really clever, nice job by whoever made that.
This was actually groza528 and Bloodthirsty Crustacean way back in 2007. Abby redid the questline in 2022, but kept that part in place.
I love to see the acknowledgment of Geneforge. It’s a really interesting series that is criminally unknown
Avernum as well. Spiderweb Software generally makes very solid, underrated games.
(until an npc walks incessantly into a wall..)
I know that TES as a whole is really what I'm singing praises to or other series around the time, but in seeing how the Devs of this very mod and associated projects are working and having dabbled with the CS myself (the clunky, but being improved upon thing that it is lol) it's easy to use but also in it's own sense having a hostility (eh? lol no..) asks for that slow determined pace of execution and consideration (Really the more with less idea although you can always make more assets/fx/etc.. so I dunno strange paradox there (capability/will?)).
There are two games that made my jaw drop. Walking around Seyda Neen in Morrowind(in 2002) and Saint Dennis in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Morrowind was so unfathomable to me in 2002 that i actually got lost in vivec city and had to start all over.
Those two games literally are in a caliber of their own, unmatched levels of detail. Granted, theres almost two decades worth of technological progress from TESIII to RDR2, but they're both immaculately detailed games in their own ways
@@jprec5174 I honestly thought that it was hard to imagine graphics getting any better.

We're moving down Southwest to hlaalu lands, though redoran is next on our meta release.
Either way I'm excited for more content and grateful for all of it!
Skyrim can be salvaged with mods. But it'll never have Morrowind'd inherent calm pace.
@TheCheeseMovesSideways month old comment but still, Bethesda didn't even make fallout nv
Because of all the Dagoth Ur AI voice acting.
A new warlockracy post is a genuine highlight of my month
RICH SELECTION OF COLOVIAN HATS??

Honestly this decade might be the best time to get into Morrowind, with all the amazing new land mods for it.
They still planning on Tamriel or they gonna stop once they finish the continent of morrowind ?
I think this video is more important for me to watch right now then study for my exam tomorrow.
Every new warlockracy video is like a comfy blanket and hot cocoa after being in the winter outside all day and coming inside.
Thanks so much man.
@@BraveAbandon You might be right! Interesting thought.
Even though it was just a mostly-empty Telvanni Isles, it was like discovering a whole new world.
oh man thanks for covering this, love morrowind, and your work

I absolutely love your Tamriel Rebuilt videos and would watch completely unedited content for tens of hours. Keep trying to build my own version in OpenMW but... I get modding megalomania and never complete my list. I just keep building.

The video was fantastic, It's great to see you return to Tamriel Rebuilt as your original videos on the project is what got me to subscribe to your channel.
Morrowind is the ‘Dune: The Spicediver Edit’ of video games
While I’m admittedly an Oblivion guy first & foremost, I love Morrowind a lot. The TES mod community in general is truly incredible.
Oblivion is a great game but I really can't decide between it and Morrowind, they both stand alone in my mind but if I were having to play one game till the day I died errr $#$?_
I would have to say Morrowind esp with all these mods.
Thank you for this. More and more I think it's time to get back into Morrowind.

Just want to say thank you for getting me to play this game. I haven’t had an experience with an rpg for years. I thought the magic I had when I first played Skyrim or new Vegas was gone but Morrowind I had that exact same magic. Awesome content keep it up
Really love your vids man. This channel is one of my very favorites
Check out Brigand: Oaxaca if you haven't already! It is an indie RPG similar to Deus Ex.
It also influences trade, cast chance and npc first time disposition
If you sort it out, your hits will connect most of the time and magic will be casted correctly
Would love one of these yearly checkins for the project! Thanks bud!

Wonderful. A Warlockracy vid and it's Morrowind. You are spoiling us.
I absolutely adore the morrowind content! Will you ever do a playthrough of Starwind?
A great story and a revolutionary game for its time. Plus, the video is great :)
As always, this is amazing. Love all your content, but your morrowind content is certainly my favorite
For real, damn that sounds amazing. How can I play this?
These were the videos that got me hooked on this channel. Always great to see more!

I dunno, MW gets hilariously easy after a while. Especially if you know the places to get free high-level loot.
You have to intentionally play bad. One of the game's core flaws imo.

i dont know what it is but morrowind just feels like the perfect medium to tell Elderscrolls story/ history. just wish it had oblivion magic that you could use while wielding weapons.
