Since KBB does not really purchase vehicles, but requires a consumer to work with a participating dealer, you will be hard pressed to find a dealer who will honor that cash price. They never honored any prices on the quotes I received from KBB.
P. o. S. dealers will rip the consumer off; if you let them.

Best thing to do is ‘walk away’, never to return with your business to that dealer
If people would ‘dig in’ & do this to any & every dealer who’s trying to ‘steal’ your vehicle; maybe they would get the message & return to respecting you. Problem is, most people let them get away with their tactics.
I never give them that benefit or opportunity. They can kiss my a** as I walk out the door.
I tell them we can work ‘retail to retail’, or wholesale to wholesale’. It’s not going to be them stealing my vehicle & then taking me to the ‘cleaners’ on what I’m trying to make a deal on. These dealers are crooks. They’ve been doing this forever.
I hope the day comes when they will all get the boot from the manufacturer.
Ever notice that when they get really desperate they offer $10K to $20K off of New? They could do that every day & they’re still going to make money. And the story on ‘Used’ cars-- they can put any mark up on them that they think they can get away with.
The problem with trying to sell a truck that has been modified is you lose value on it.

I’ve seen mods on trucks & dealers have a high mark up on them. They tell the person(s) trading in that they cannot give them a normal ( what normal! lol) value because of the mods. Not only are they thieves but also ‘cons’ & liars!
Huh? I have never in my life seen a modified vehicle go for less then stock lol. If anything it'll sell faster because it already has the mods.
I'm the original owner of a garage kept, white, all stock, 2020 TRD Sport 4x4, V6, with a six-speed manual transmission and about to have 12,500 miles. Gotta be worth somthin'...?!?

It’s all supply and demand at the end of the day. Toyota will overcome this situation. Their vehicles are traditionally reliable. Any issues they currently have they’ll correct in the future. If “you” like your truck it really doesn’t matter what the market or anyone else thinks.
Even Porsche is experiencing push back with their most iconic vehicle, the 911. It’s technically a hybrid for 2025.
I worry for Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, lancia, Aston martin, Maserati. Tough times coming . 😭

I bought a 2021 Nissan Titan PRO4X loaded. MSRP was $63,4 something. The damn thing spent more time at the dealership than in my garage. I Lemon Lawed it! After almost 3 years, we settled. I ended up pocketing $7K when I traded it in.
They aren’t known to be a good truck.

I hate negotiating on a trade, KBB, for a guide, but I do have to say that trade difference makes a huge difference in tax. It definitely makes me feel better in the pocket, for sure.

3rd gen tacos were released at a much lower MSRP than the 4th Gen so of course there's a big price difference.
A car or truck is the worst investment. You will always lose money on them, especially currently when the interest rates are high and nobody wants to buy a new car.
Anything that ‘depreciates’ isn’t an ‘investment’
The truth is you really don't know what your Tacoma is worth until someone gives you cash money. If it makes you feel any better the Colorado lost $8000 in 9 months when traded for the Altima

#1. KBB is a summary of what the vehicles transaction prices. It means nothing because the transaction prices are often times not honest. For example, you buy my truck private party, and we agree on 40 K. But for tax purposes I give you a bill of sale for 32K. The 32K is what gets reported. As far as any mods? Kiss them good bye insofar as added value. I for one hate when people mod the wheels and suspension. Give me a stock truck anyday

KBB technically doesn't "buy vehicles"...it is just a consumer guide which us who work in the car business will tell you is worthless to us and we don't use.
I will tell you as a dealer, we would give more for a '23 TRD SPORT than a '24 TRD SPORT with comparable packages and miles and that's simply because of demand. This goes for any comparable trim 2023-2024 Tacoma and Tundra currently.

@@RobMotive they’re not returning to normal. we currently have 18 on our lot with average DIS (Day In Service) at 48 days..a few have been here over 90.

Initially you would end up paying less for the 23 sport than you would for a 24 sport which the numbers that you are giving says that you would have lost more with the 24 vs the 23?

They also increased the msrp of the 2024s a considerable amount so you need to factor in that fact aswell. Its also very area specific ill try to sell my truck locally and then compared to like a hour away its thousands of dollars different.
Yesterday I purchased a blue crush 2024 Tacoma TRD Off Road, Premium Package at @3440 below MSRP. There are deals out there. I had to go to a dealer that was a 3hr drive from my house. Well worth it.
Against the 2023 Tacoma you were using the price that you paid for your 2024 at 43500 I know someone who bought a 2023 Tacoma four-wheel drive off-road for 37.9 so now what is the price difference trade in Wise now

@@RobMotive They wanted the truck wanted to sell me the new 24. They are dealing on 24 SR5s, 47 can become 43, but then fees raise it another 1000 with tax. Oh I paid 39 total. Had a 18K trade taxes were minimal, 699 fee for docs
They know that the’24’s are a
‘Hard’ sell. Most people don’t want the 4 cylinder.
Toyota should have kept the 6 cylinder with improved performance. They could have & shoulda. Same with the transmission. Toyota should have improved the Tundra 8 cylinder. Toyota is supposed to be a ‘Leader’ 😂

@@RobMotive depreciation is much less on the 3rd gen. Most people are able to sell or trade in a 3rd gen for more than they bought it while 4th gen’s are depreciating much faster.

Toyota sales were down 20 percent last quarter weren't they? Most all the manufacturers were down except I think Volvo and Mitsubishi? Toyota should be fine they always are but with decreasing sales (they selling less Tacoma than 2023) they probably aren't jumping to buy one back. I'm more concerned over the names under stellantis as stellantis isn't looking great. Hoping Aston martin etc survives. Concerned for audi and such as well.
Toyota? Really doesn't matter what your trucks worth until you decide to sell it. If the transmission thing becomes more common overtime that could effect your resale. So far it's isolated I think?

You think Toyota selling less Tacoma will effect your resale? Think interest rates will effect your resale? Does 2 wd effect your resale?
