🔴 Which factor do you believe has the biggest impact on the Toyota Tacoma's low sales?🤔 🏆 Toyota CEO Announces 5 NEW Models For 2025 WATCH HERE 👉ua-cam.com/video/xRCpnwkIYSI/v-deo.html
No bump stops, plastic skid plates that bend in the wind, overheating issues due to no trans cooler and way overpriced. It's a very sharp looking truck but way over priced for what it actually is.
Yep, the new power train is a point of hesitation for many buyers especially with issues with the new Tundras making customers leary. You just have to go to the previous Tundra as well as the previous Tacoma where sales weren’t where Toyota expected. I could never under stand. Why the Toyota trucks got relatively poor fuel consumption numbers. Let me do this in Canadian mileage numbers with the 10% bigger than the US gallon. The previous Tundras struggled to get 20 mpg on the highway which compared to the “ Big Three’s “ fuel numbers was fairly poor. The GM 1/2 ton twins would get about 23-24 mpg as would the Rams and the F150. Sure a heavy gas pedal foot would slash those numbers quite a bit but it would still be better than the Tundra’s 19 mpg hwy. The Tacoma in my option was even worse being a smaller lighter truck with a V6 engine that in a 2017-2019 Highlander would get 30-31 mpg on the highway ( I do it every road trip on my 2017 ) while the previous model Tacoma struggled to get 22 mpg ( again, the slightly larger Imperial gallon ). The number on the new turbo 4 cylinder engine is still struggling to reach 24 mpg while the other midsized trucks will get 26-28 mpg with a careful right foot. The other big issue is the length of the pickup bed. A 6 foot plus a few inches bed length option would help a bit. It’s not like 5he legroom in the back seat is forcing the bed size to be so low. I really can’t even consider a truck with a crew cab style interior where a 5 ft. 10- 6 ft. 4 person has their kness right up against the back of front seats. All new trucks have “ silly” pricing. A “ fancy” trim level 1/2 ton shouldn’t cost anywhere near $75,000 let alone $100,000 dollars ( once again Canadian dollars so knock around $12,000-$15,000 off those prices in the US.) . Now with the r3callson the Tundra’s engines and the probable future recalls on the Tacoma’s transmissions, Toyota is not going. To move too many trucks for the. Next 2-3 years until those see issues get resolved to a traditional Toyota level of quality. I saw a brand new Toyota Grand Highlander sitting on the dealership’s lot a couple months ago. There was an sig; in the windshield that read “ Do Not Sell”. I was looking at the vehicle while having the 2nd “ required” service done on our RAV4 Hybrid and the salesman came out. He started the usual sales pitch but when I mentioned I was just killing time while the Rav was being serviced he just started a regular conversation. I asked about5he Grand Highlander and he said it ha$ come in the previous day on the transport truck. The y called the person who had ordered it and only then noticed the sign on the passenger seat. The reason for the “ do not sell”. notice was because one of the airbags had been recalled. It was just in the past week that the part came in and the recalled part was replaced. Who wants to take a pretty sure chance that the brand new vehicle you ordered and waited 8-18 weeks for will be in the shop f or 2-3 months waiting for a part? Yes all manufacturers have models with recall issues but at least in the past, Toyota wasn’t often one of them.
The truck stopped looking like a truck and has the all the makings of a transformer toy. It's a mash up of uncoordinated styling and cues. Toyota is shooting itself in the foot.
Why would you want tp pay so much for a truck that now is completely unreliable? They will need at least one enginge replacement for certain. Some have had 2. One I know about is on its 3rd motor in 15.000 miles. Who would buy that? Now the transmissions are failing at low miles. Not to mention the poor materials, the seals are junk, no bump stops, junk.
buy the Frontier...... true the only thing nissan builds well today...... but they last as long if not longer then Toyota! my 1st one was a 1977 Datsun 620 4x4 and it quit due to rust in northeast in 2005! currently have 2 a xterra and Titan..... still running great at over 150k... no engine or tranny work other then a clutch on the 620!!!
My 22 taco gets as good as and usually better gas milage than the new one. And it is not as complicated. So why buy something for more money and no real improvements?
Toyota is now catering to the wealthy folks who have the funds to purchase a vehicle at any price. As the years move on many middle class folks will be happy to afford pre-owned vehicles.
That's the problem. Nobody seems to be saying no to these trucks. They are still selling like crazy. But are ticking time bombs. And way overpriced. People have to smarten up, otherwise toyota will profit from this and learn nothing.
High prices, a 4cyl Banger Problematic Turbo engine and failing transmissions ! Mexico quality control is in shambles. I’m super excited that I bought my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed.
I want a Taco without all the tech gadgets. Give me a radio with an aux port, NA V6, cool cloth seats. Keep the distracting screen, sticky seats, and limited life gimmicky engine. And mechanical, not electronic. Want it to last.
Test drove the new Tacoma and was very disappointed. Poor quality (too much plastic, feels cheap) and price for the amount they are charging. Was a Toyota truck customer for 25 years. Bought a Honda Ridgeline Black Edition. Much better quality and price.
The interior looks modern but it looks cheap and plastically, bad transmission, no external upper control arm stops cause shock tower to blow out, no tow hooks on the front of a 4x4? All the recalls in the Taco and the Tundra have buyers looking else ware for quality. Toyota quality is not what it once was.
Ever since the new Toyota management took over, the reliability has dropped, the word has spread throughout the world. Nobody wants to buy an overpriced UNRELIABLE truck, NOBODY!!! Toyota's NEW MANAGEMENT, YOU DID THIS! YOU LOSE!!!! You screwed your loyal Toyota customers and they know it! I will not be back! TOYOTAS SUCK!!!

Blown motors, bad transmissions, poor quality overall. Very poor. First to worst, only a fool would buy one.
4 cylinder turbo Easy answer
For me the problems are 1. Price, 2. Turbo engine, 3. First productions year concerns. (I learned that lesson the hard way with a new 1990 4Runner. )
No bump stops, plastic skid plates that bend in the wind, overheating issues due to no trans cooler and way overpriced. It's a very sharp looking truck but way over priced for what it actually is.
Toyota stopped making vehicles its loyal customers want. Board of Directors and dealers are not your customers Toyota!
The price gouging is just disgusting and which one of these companies hasn't done layoffs at the same time?
Only a fool would want a 4banger turbo , expensive problems awaits you !

Gen 3 looks nicer imo. and that price is just silly!
I see the rental car companies have been buying a boat load of them
No way for that price.
Price
Gotta 6 speed manual and it's awesome.
Tacomas have been made in Mexico since 2022.
Maybe longer than that. But they are good, that is the 22 I mean.

What happened to all their harsh torture qc testing? They said it was flawless.

Got as high as 30 mpg twice. Usually 25mpg.
Toyota is now catering to the wealthy folks who have the funds to purchase a vehicle at any price. As the years move on many middle class folks will be happy to afford pre-owned vehicles.
People need to tell these auto makers to go ____ themselves! Stop buying them the prices will drop.

Soon I saw that hybrid aka iforcemax engine I knew Toyota fuckin up they reputation and I will not spend a dime in those car's.
It's still better than Ford, Chevy and Dodge. Still Toyota needs to lower the price

I agree. Sterile experience...

Wanted a gen2 got a gen3... never looked back. These new tacomas aren't for real truck people. Just mom and her 3 kids.
The “ALL NEW” Tacoma with 35 year old, outdated, depressing Gloomy Grey and Death Black interior colors 🖕🏽🤢🤮

Toyota has lost its idea of what a Toyota buyer looks like.🥸👎
