I’m so glad AMD pointed out Toyota’s outrageous price and lacks of quality, we really need more UA-camrs to speak out the facts and ugly, I’m so tire of most UA-camrs just praising Toyota blindly.
I guess I don't spend enough time on UA-cam or all my searches aren't hitting the algorithm because I rarely see Toyota failures as opposed to all the Hyundai, Ford, Chevy failures it keeps feeding me.
@@chrisfoxwell4128 Toyota isn’t the brand we knew before. The new generation is significantly more in price and with many corners cut. My wife has a 2020 RX 350, it has real wood and leather etc. the new one is just sea of plastic and less features, but much more expensive. The worst part is, Toyota is selling cars way cheaper internationally, only charging US/Canada premium. Just returned to Canada from overseas, I went to see a Tacoma sibling hilux top trim that costs CAD$40k+, comparable Tacoma is costing more than double here in Canada. RAV4 top trim is CAD30k+ overseas, and more than double in Canada.

I just watched a 46 minute video about a truck that I wasn’t gonna buy on a channel I’ve never seen before. Suffice it to say I subscribed and I will make sure to search for the next vehicle that I’m interested in on this channel. Thank you UA-cam algorithm
The problem with many car reviewers is their lack of knowledge about what they are reviewing. This is the most comprehensive review I've ever seen. Awesome review!

ZR2 as far as the TRD pro these days. I have owned a two Tacoma TRT off-road trucks. But these new ones are junk. Only fan will buy them anymore.
@@robertedwards3822 still too early for me to tell if they're junk, the truck just launched early this year. I'm not in the market for a new one for a couple of years, I'll judge then.
...and they've dropped the pay for Mexican autoworkers building them to as close to nothing as possible. How are they going to care about building quality if they're worrying about paying for rent and food all day long?
I'm glad I'm starting to see Toyota UA-camrs complain about these vehicles. Toyota makes great vehicles, but the prices, especially versus other brands are getting out of hand. I understand willing to pay for the Toyota tax, but after a certain point, you have to wonder if you're really gaining that much. It's also clear that Toyota is taking advantage of their loyal fanbase and reputation to purposefully keep dealer supply low and and prices high.
Most vehicles these days can't even speak on the realiablity of any brand because some texting blind person crashes into you doing triple the speed limit on a city street.
That being said, the TRD PRO models have NEVER been good value propositions. They're for the "unlimited budget", "blank check" Toyota diehard. For us more normal offroaders, the TRD Offroad trims have always given reasonable value. This latest PRO is silly. A 2024 TRD Offroad without the pricy premium package is somewhat reasonably priced and can already be had with four-figure dealer discounts.
Ultimately the best car review channel on YT. Car Care Nut is always the best place to go to. In fact the only true mechanic car reviewier not some car journalist with no mechanic experience
Haha totally. It’s nice to see someone who understands the mechanics reviewing the vehicles. Unlike the journalists who just care about the newest screens and technology, and how the Toyota sports car is not as fast as the competition so it’s not worth it to buy in their opinion. 😂
I love how your not just a Toyota fanboy. You call it like it is the good, the bad,the ugly. That's why I been following from day one in your garage on a workbench.
I bought a Frontier and so far I’m happy with it. It’s only got 36K on it now but so far so good. Time will tell. It’s comfortable, doesn’t have a ton of tech, has an old school naturally aspirated V6, and a body on frame construction. One of the last actual trucks left.
AMD is the BEST and most pragmatic, honest, accurate, fair reviewer of vehicles. He is 100% correct about those useles seats and I hope the powers that be are cringing in their office seats watching the reality of this review. Toyota has fallen victim to gimmickry and it is sad and, unfortunately, expensive mistakes. Thank you AMD. Perhaps Toyota should consult AMD from now on. I certainly think they should.
I had an overwhelming sense of pride in our AMD at the end of this video. Honesty and integrity personified. Saying it as it is, in the most gimmick free, hard hitting, facts based review you’ll see. Brilliant.
The problem is, when they kept the same design for 12 years, people constantly bitched and moaned that Toyota was bland and wasn't innovating often enough. Now everyone is whining that they need to go back...wtf do you all want?
@@4runner510 The 4th gen 4Runner was PEAK Toyota. So big and bombastic, V6 standard, V8 optional on every trim, full-time 4WD on every trim, INCREDIBLE JBL Synthesis hifi audio system and not that regular JBL crap. The 5th gen 4Runner toned down all of this but at least kept the classic Toyota virtues, of being overbuilt. This new Tacoma is not overbuilt at all. Detuned engine for the manual transmission and now they have to detune the off-road power with stability control because TFL destroyed the 4WD system in a way it really shouldn't be possible.
Rock rails mounted to the body and not the frame is literally the most hilarious fail I think Toyota could make on the TRD pro 😂 I laughed for a good minute when I saw that.
Toyota engineers actually said it's not a rock slider and more of a sand blocker to protect the paint. It's a paint guard. Lol also like below I think it should have came with the trailhunter rock sliders also the gas tank protection is plastic on the trd pro lol they focused way too much on trd pro being fast and light. Sucks the trailhunter is way more money than the trd pro in Canada. After this video I'm waiting for the 2026 or 2027 model.
@mattjohndson I think you don't understand the difference between a rock rail and a rock slider lol. A rock rail has to be mounted to the body to stay close to it to protect it from rock chips of going fast off road 🤡
After viewing this review I an appreciate my 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro4X even more. With 14,500 + miles, there are no issues off road, in town or on the open highway.
I think the uncomfortable truth is that Toyota is never going to give you another vehicle to review again! I love your reviews, and yours are the ones I know are real and not bought and paid for. Sticking with you, staying subbed because of who you are! Keep up the right fight!
@@jasonp3253 easy solution is to just rent off Turo to review. AMD will have tons of options because there’s always some “hustler & grinder” trying to rent new vehicles out on Turo.
Which says something. If toyota was all about quality and maintaining their reputation of it, stopping someone from reviewing their cars for pointing out the flaws within their vehicles n during manufacturing as well as showing points of questionable quality control, will further damage their rep
They will or they lose trust and fan base completely. This is what good companies do, looking for constructive criticism to improve their products and services. If company stop doing it - its done and you should probably start looking for another company to put your money in, vote with your money, this is only how we can make change with big corporations...
@nikolaysedletskiy5076 genesis has taken constructive criticism and its has skyrocketed ever since. Toyota is basing its glory still from when they took over the 70s and then on with high quality while other foreign brands had bad quality. But that train can only last so long until you come to a time where alot of tech is being packed into cars and its at this point impossible to maintain decades long quality with so many electronics. So now they're slipping here n there and are hoping long time toyota buyers will look past that
$65,000!? I paid $60,000 for my new 2020 Raptor. I know Ford gets bashed all of the time, but I would take the raptor any day over this Tacoma. And by the way, I traded in my 2006 TRD Tacoma for the raptor. And I downright loved that Tacoma.
They weren't ever going to please everyone. How many years did we hear about how Toyota isn't doing what the competition is doing, that they are so behind and ancient, etc....and now after decades of complaints and their hand getting forced by regulations, we are at this point and now all the crybabies who only want Toyota to use old powertrains come out of their holes.. 99% of yall can't even put your money where your mouth is anyways old or new Toyota...we have '23 GR Corolla and Prius both going strong..

Toyota is rapidly going down the wrong path. Aside from the engine issues that everyone knows about on the Tundra, I have heard complaints of cheap and interior that rattles a lot. I can't wrap my head around what they are thinking. This is what happened with Honda a few years back when they started cheaping out on their amenities and interior and raised their prices. It seem like they have to cheap out on the interior to at least keep the MSRP "reasonable" . 65k for a small truck is absurd, no matter how you cut it. I just bought my wife a 24 4Runner and I hated having to pay 50k. I don't even want to know what they're going to ask for the 25's. In a world where vehicles prices are skyrocketing and quality is going down, I think I will stick with my 14 SIenna and 14 Camaro and be happy that I don't have to pay what current prices are. The unfortunate side of that is that parts for older vehicles are getting more and more expensive and harder to find. It would seem that manufacturers are intentionally trying to force people into the newer overpriced garbage they are producing. As a lifetime Toyota fan, I am extremely disappointed in the direction that Toyota is going. It seriously seems like they have become so reliant on their historical reliability that they think people will pay an exorbitant amount for anything they offer. I think those days are rapidly coming to an end; and if the issues with the Tundra are any indication of what is to come for Toyota, I think you're going to see more and more people leaving in droves and keeping their older cars as long as they possibly can.
So you are complaining about Spending $$$$$ and now bragging about spending $$$$ on a new vehicle for your wife an over priced garbage. I haven't bought a new truck since 2003. And I didn't buy the truck for my wife. We decided to buy the truck for both of us.
I just paid $50K for a '24 4Runner Limited - that's more than the cost of my previous two vehicles put together. But, the alternative was to wait for a '25 4Runner and pay even more for a small displacement turbo engine. Toyota keeps pushing out the release date for the '25 4Runner - I halfway think they know quite well sales will drop off and they're keeping the '24 available as long as they can. BTW take a good look at the data Toyota is pulling off your 4Runner - unless you shut down all the data apps / services (and likely few folks do that) Toyota is pulling location, odometer, driving style (I'm not kidding) and selling that info to insurance companies or data brokers.
At this point you’re better off with a higher mileage used older tacoma or even a stupid mazda… Very sad - we’re in a race to the bottom for n terms of vehicle quality and durability as well as right to repair It’s “almost” like “they” don’t want you owning anything anymore
Thanks for being honest with regards to the quality for the price. I think a lot of buyers could overlook the shortcomings (cheapness) if the price was a lot less...but it's not. All of my older Toyotas are cheap and plasticy too, still reliable, but they were MUCH cheaper in price than the newer models. Great job hitting on those points.
It is a 4 cylinder, turbocharged, with a lot of plastic materials and made in Mexico. Toyota is moving in the wrong direction. I wouldn't pay more than 35k for this truck.
Toyota is producing junk that is way inflated. They have done away with the proven engines and drivetrains to appease the EPA. Furthermore, there are more and more plastics in the new vehicles. All junk and the prices are ridiculous. Bring back more metals, aluminum, and wood to vehicles.
I agree with practically all of your concerns and questions, especially the gimmicky center speaker. If you break or lose it, you are now missing a center channel channel. The speaker also has to have lithium-ion battery but is right under the sun for hours in temps over 150 degrees which will cause the battery to swell or worse.
The Access doors are one of the best features of my Tacoma the way I use it. Take those off and the truck is just not nearly as useful. And I don't want a 4 door crew cab with a little bed.
Just drove my 2019 Tundra Limited 3/4 the way across the USA and back plus put over 1,000 miles on it in the State I was in and I will say this one thing again. I WILL NEVER GIVE UP MY V8 TUNDRA. Solid as a rock Truck.
In Australia we have a similar truck. Called Hilux. They mostly have reliable high torque Diesel engines though. Far more efficient than petrol in a heavy vehicle. We love them this way.😊😊
You also are lucky and get Land Cruiser 70 series utes (trucks) and wagons and Troopy’s. I wish we could get more vehicles in diesels. I grew up driving a 1976 Mercedes 240D diesel sedan that I had to pull a lever (like a choke) to warm the glow plugs to start, then I would borrow my mom’s 1980 300TD wagon. I was driving from 1991 on and I drove a 2014 BMW 328d diesel sedan up until 2023. I am going to eventually swap in a D4D Toyota diesel engine from DieselToys in San Antonio in either my Dad’s 2017 4-cylinder 4x2 SR Double Cab Short Bed or my 2023 TRD OR 4x4 Access Cab.

@@curtwebbe6301TRD Off Road doesn’t have the fake hood scoop on the Gen 4 Tacoma. The TRD Sport and the TRD Pro are the only models that have it currently.
Have you seen the hood flutter on the new Lexus GX? $80k and the hood looks like it's going to wrinkle or float off. Lexus is already having to add seals on them I believe to correct it but the fact that it made it all the way to the consumer with obvious fit/finish/"quality" feel issues at that price point is more concerning to me than the issue itself. They've gotten lazy because they know, at least subconsciously, that anything they make (and make look cool, the designers are on a roll) will sell. Now they're risking losing their foundational customers who literally came to them because they wanted the product designed to last forever, not the one designed to look coolest in the fraternity parking lot. Unfortunately for us, our plan was to have a Tacoma TRD pro and a GX Overtrail+ hybrid (when it starts production) and now we're cancelling deposits on both. Keeping my last gen GX for now and going a different direction on the truck but really hope Toyota can fix some of these things mid cycle because I want to love these vehicles.
I have the TRD Pro 2023, and I will not change it for the new one. Thank you for your reviews it helped me decide on the my trade in. I had a 2014, Tacoma TRD Sport.
Fingers crossed that Toyota management take notice that we can see what they’re doing to quality. As someone who only recently arrived at Toyota after decades of German cars, I can see myself going back if they don’t stop flushing quality down the toilet. It seems like their competitors are in control of quality. Good honest review AMD, thank you.
@@bkpoirier You have to be kidding, right? Both Nissan and Ford have been historically plagued with reliability and quality control issues. The Toyota's at least come from a heritage of reliability, as well as standing behind their vehicles when issues do arise. Go ahead and look up the 4 cylinder engine issues on the Bronco's and let me know how that is a better choice than this new Toyota turbo 4 cylinder hybrid. And, no, you can't compare this engine to the Tundra's 6 cylinder that had a manufacturing issue that they have now fixed, and are replacing all the bad ones for zero cost (the plague of buying a brand new platform that is the same for all manufacturers).
This is by far the best review I’ve seen and if Toyota don’t listen they will be losing customers, their quality been going down hill. Plus the fact that the 4Runner , Tacoma etc fronts all look similar with cheap plastic and ridiculous pricing lol

This is, without a SINGLE SHADOW of a doubt, the BEST, most HONEST, and in-depth review I have EVER seen on UA-cam, NOT just of this new (frankly) POS Tacoma, but also of Toyota as a whole, and their astonishingly quick decline in the race for maximizing profits. I can't recall if the Tacoma was designed (and built) in the US like it's bigger brother Tundra is, but I think this shows Toyota should've stuck to their Japan design studios, engineers, and manufacturing centres, cause this thing stinks of a US domestic truck in regards to the cheapness, cost and corner cutting! My only critique of your review though, is you did not mention the WIDE SPREAD issues with the rear (and front) differentials blowing up, and transmissions, and how Toyota's fix will be to "reprogram" (aka GIMP) your transmission / engine performance to stop it from happening. This truck is honestly such utter TRASH, it definitely makes some of the US competitors look good for a change!
That one blank button on the center console is for the auto stop/start...which the TRD Off Road and the Hybrids don't get anyways so regardless of what trim you get, every 4th gen is going to have blank buttons there. After seeing your video, I'm starting to appreciate my 3rd gen more and more.

Two things I immediately hate is the stamped tailgate. My god, it's all too much. And the next HUGE failure, as with the Tundra, is that they deleted the corner step on the rear bumper when the tailgate is down. We use our trucks as trucks, and when the gate is down, you need a step stool to get into the bed, rather than just hiking yourself into it by stepping on the corner of the bumper. Such a dumb feature on a TRUCK! Great video, as always.

Toyota just gave their lunch to the competition. They should have just stopped making the Tacoma and ended their fame in a high note then completely screw it up as they have. Over engineered, overpriced and unreliable piece of crap this is!
I had a lot of high tech gear and computer issue problems with a Ford F150 Platinum (2015) and a 2020 GMC AT4 that replaced it. The ford was rear-ended and the sensors and computers never worked after that and I got continual faults no matter what the dealer did. The AT4 engine blew up due to faulty lifters. Thank goodness it was under warranty or it would have cost 10K to fix. So, I sold the AT4 to a dealer and watched a bunch of your videos and ended up with a 2024 4runner TRD Off-Road Premium. I added a mild 1-½ inch leveling kit to the front. Painted and blacked out the silver knobs on the inside and the silver valences and other small mods so it looks very much like a TRD Pro. All that is cosmetic, but I love it. It is simple. Reliable. Easy to operate. When I am in the mountains of NC I often use it in Manual mode which is so smooth and address the gear hunting issue that many complain about. I hope to have it a very long time. I really appreciate your videos on how to change the oil and when and other tips. Because of you, I own this great 4runner. Thanks.
Thank you for the honesty. I'm keeping my Tacoma 2000 and 2022. My next truck will be an imported JDM diesel hilux or a Landcruiser made 25 yrs ago. All these study fanboy channels like TRDJON and TFL and even Donut who hyped this 4th gen are bought out by Toyota.

Agreed. The trend of making it bulbous, rugged and "TOUGH" is just so cringey I can't believe people buy these things and think its anything but a cheap gimmick, like a toy.
Toyota figured out that if they simply add 100 hoses and route them all over the place and carefully intertwine them into a spaghetti mess, owners will be less likely to even look at the engine let alone work on it, so they can make more money on service.
@@jonesjones7057 bingo! manufacturers only want their service techs working on vehicles. Drop the quality of the product, guarantee only your techs have the tools to fix them and you maximize profit.
Thanks for staying true and criticizing Toyota instead of beating around the bush like most UA-camrs. Your video may sway Toyota from cutting corners on future models, I for one am skipping this generation
For that money, you should get a higher output engine and long travel. Maybe even a front locker. Instead of wasting money on the seats, they should have put that into the suspension. What a massive L.
AMD, Thanks for the 'tough love' approach to this review and the unvarnished truth about this disappointing TRD Pro. 🤨As I understand it, there are numerous supply chain problems in Mexico affecting Tacoma production and QDR. It is time for Toyota Motor Corporation to bring Tacoma manufacturing back to the USA.
Supply issues would continue regardless. Tacomas have been made in Mexico ever since the 2nd gens and 3rd gens were exclusively made in Mexico over the last years of production. I don't see any complaints about that. The 4th gen is just a poorly designed truck by Toyota's standards. As simple as that
My opinion of Toyota has changed over the past couple of months. Quality is heavily compromised at this point across all Toyota products. Even the recent builds of non-facelifted/updated models are seeing quality issues. 4 neighbors who recently purchased have made a couple of visits to the dealership with issues already. Granted some of the visits had to do with poorly built interior plastic components. 3 of those vehicles are built in Japan. Not sure what’s going on, but I’ll keep my 2021 Toyo for a long time and hopefully the brand will get back to making robust, reliable vehicles. Really hope they pay more attention to their core strength. A friend of mine who works there said that part of the issue is that there is an overall disappointment with a good portion of their engineers with the hybridization of several vehicles.
Myself and two friends purchased new 1985 Hilux trucks. All three ate 2.5 qts of oil every 3K oil change. We all contacted the dealer and were told that was within specs.

Inflation plays a huge role. A base 2024 Camry is actually 20% cheaper than a base 1998 Camry was, once you factor inflation. A fully loaded Tacoma in 2000 was 26k, which is 50k now -- right in line with a loaded non-TRD 2024 Tacoma.

If I want to go back further, in 1991 I bought a new Honda Civic Hatchback for $6900 in todays money that would be $15,685 where can you buy a new Civic Hatch for $15k? You can't.. If you think this type of inflation is ok? I am assuming your a Liberal. Because its NOT ok. This is ridiculous and it needs to stop. The average American Family earns $76k per year, but the average new car price is $48,600 in 2020 that average was $38k. SO MUCH has changed in the last 4 yrs. I wonder why? I am guessing you will blame covid? mmmm ok. The average American family cannot afford the new car prices. These are facts. Well said.
Toyota trucks are no longer great vehicles
Most vehicles these days can't even speak on the realiablity of any brand because some texting blind person crashes into you doing triple the speed limit on a city street.
That being said, the TRD PRO models have NEVER been good value propositions. They're for the "unlimited budget", "blank check" Toyota diehard. For us more normal offroaders, the TRD Offroad trims have always given reasonable value. This latest PRO is silly.
At this point you’re better off with a higher mileage used older tacoma or even a stupid mazda…

Thanks for being honest with regards to the quality for the price. I think a lot of buyers could overlook the shortcomings (cheapness) if the price was a lot less...but it's not. My only critique of your review though, is you did not mention the WIDE SPREAD issues with the rear (and front) differentials blowing up, and transmissions, and how Toyota's fix will be to "reprogram" (aka GIMP) your transmission / engine performance to stop it from happening.

I did exhaustive research on both TRD and PRO-4X.I drive both.Bought the Nissan.
I bought the 24’ Pro 4X and I’m glad I didn’t buy the Taco for a number of reasons. I love it. Way more comfortable and the N/A V6 is $$.
The new Ford Ranger now offers the long lasting tried and true 2.7 ecoboost...2.7 came out yearsss ago and was right from the start, and is known to get over 300,000 miles without any issues !

Best, no-nonsense review yet!!
Almost 1 year ago, I bought a 23GX460 because of this channel, absolutely love it, it is a premium plus for 58K, it includes destination and all other fees. Now the price of Toyota is rocket soaring, it makes my Lexus like a steal. I plan to keep it for 30 years
Excellent choice. After watching many CCN videos we bought a 2018 RX350l with 49k miles. AWD, and the only Kyushu Japan made RX for three states around us. Only had it for less than 3 months, but it's a dream. Oh, and 26 mpg on regular gas , highway.
So did I
"Some things should remain basic, because they are basic" Should be a law lol. Who wants to flip through 15 menu screens to change fan speed . Love the channel, keep doing great job!
Or, Toyota could just use one button on the steering wheel activated by a thumb to allow for voice control of any function needed while driving.

AMD- there has been alot of talk on forums between people regarding new tacomas vs frontiers. Maybe you can do a frontier review on the other channel. It would be great to hear your thoughts and opinions !
Came here to list this! Just got a 3rd gen pro4x. You save tens of thousands vs a pro and 10k vs a trd off-road. I loved my v8 tundra but needed something smaller
PLEASE do the Frontier Pro-4X!!!!!!!!!
I agree, I’d love to hear his opinion on it!
I was thinking the very same thing! A comparison between the 2025 Frontier Pro 4X and the Tacoma, or just a review on the Nissan would be fantastic. I would love to see this too.
Yea that would be awesome.
Great review! That rear seat is ridiculous. Thanks for posting
I usually won't watch long videos but your content was comprehensive and spot on, well done sir!
2k comments and Im still struggling to find someone saying Toyota did an amazing job here.
Shame on you, Toyota!

Glad I bought my 23' Tacoma right before this crap new gen started to reach de dealers.
Mine is far from perfect but it was the real last real tacoma, and with a V6.
Same. Happy with my 23’ TRD Off-Road. $45K out the door. The back seats on the 24’ would be a total deal breaker if I were looking at this truck. I can’t be the only one.
Sadly that 2GR-FKS Camry engine in your Tacoma also suffers oil starvation when off-roading. Toyota is garbage. Cutting costs and charging more.
Agreed, I ran out in Sept 2023 and even flew 500kms to gran one of the last solar octane brand new Gen 3 TRD Pro’s. got for $2000 under msrp also! My friend said I was crazy! Lol

Thanks.
So glad I bought my 21 4Runner TRD Off Road. Old school reliability!
💯 about the bought and paid for Toyota influencers. Such toolbags. AMD is legit and I love how he is calling out all the bad decisions that Toyota made with all their new vehicles.
This guy just says it. Love this actual review style. It's like taking a truck to your trusted mechanic.
0:00 I like that you stood behind the vehicle so it's clear just how much of a behemoth this pickup truck really is. Oversized vehicles are really starting to get out of hand now.
Agreed. The trend of making it bulbous, rugged and "TOUGH" is just so cringey I can't believe people buy these things and think its anything but a cheap gimmick, like a toy.
Im surprised you didnt roast the unsightly mess of hoses etc under the hood it looks like a prototype to me.
Toyota figured out that if they simply add 100 hoses and route them all over the place and carefully intertwine them into a spaghetti mess, owners will be less likely to even look at the engine let alone work on it, so they can make more money on service.
@@jonesjones7057is the new CEO jewish by chance?

Thanks for staying true and criticizing Toyota instead of beating around the bush like most UA-camrs. Your video may sway Toyota from cutting corners on future models, I for one am skipping this generation
For that money, you should get a higher output engine and long travel. Maybe even a front locker. Instead of wasting money on the seats, they should have put that into the suspension. What a massive L.
Should definitely have a front locker…their competition does at that level.
Doesn’t this have the higher output powertrain and a some decent suspension changes versus the TRD OR?
Toyota just straight up refuses to put front lockers. 🤷♂️ they seem to do really well off-road despite that but it’s an awful shame.
@@larryzapotocky1363don’t really need it outside of rock crawling with the A trac system.
@@larryzapotocky1363there's a youtuber who thinks toyota thinks Americans can't handle front lockers. He's prob right....
That button moulding on the seat controls area where forward/back should be is just the icing on the cake.
Thanks for reassuring me in purchasing a 5th gen 4Runner and not this taco…. Still regret selling my 2nd gen Taco
Disappointed engineers shouldn’t affect build quality.
Myself and two friends purchased new 1985 Hilux trucks. All three ate 2.5 qts of oil every 3K oil change. We all contacted the dealer and were told that was within specs.
Sooo grateful for my 19 yr old Taco! 4,0 V6 227,000 miles and runs, shifts as new. Checked oil at 3k, still full and looks still yellow. 😊
Best mechanical overview Channel for Vehicles on YT. Dont get me wrong, i like other channels too that cover the regular things about cars that the day to day driver needs to know. But understanding what kind of mechanical issues you might or might not have down the line is seriously important when wanting to spend your hard earned dollars.
Real talk, one of the best no BS assessments I have ever seen on any truck.
First of all, I'm a new subscriber and let me tell you, your HONESTY, excellent REVIEW and personal touch is INCREDIBLE. Wow, I'm blown away with your attention to DETAIL and laying everything out. Thank you for staying true and giving a real legit review. Next, pricing is ridiculous. I'm interested in a TRD OFF-ROAD and even then, it's exceptionally expensive after taxes. I think if we are going to get charged a premium by Toyota we should be getting a premium truck without horrendous paint jobs, crappy gaskets and unpainted components. Just my 2 cents, thank you again for the amazing review. Well done sir.

Never thought I would see a $70k Tacoma, wow everyone, these prices have to come down, its getting ridiculous 🙄
It's been ridiculous for the past few years lol
Inflation plays a huge role.
A base 2024 Camry is actually 20% cheaper than a base 1998 Camry was, once you factor inflation.
A fully loaded Tacoma in 2000 was 26k, which is 50k now -- right in line with a loaded non-TRD 2024 Tacoma.
@@xirabolt Yes, and No. Yes inflation is high as it ever has been in the last 4 yrs. In 2020 my wife and I bought a new Nissan Frontier Pro 4X truck for $31k, now a new Frontier Pro 4X Starts at $45k, in 2020 I also bought a new VW GTI, paid $26k for it now a new one similar model Starts at $32k. Prices like this new Toyota Truck are so off the hook ridiculous and most will tell you the new truck will not last as long as the old ones either. Why? All this new tech, plastics, control modules and such simply will break down in time. We as a Nation need to stand up and say enough is enough. This year is time for change.
@@xirabolt LMAO! You forgot the most important part of inflation........Wages are not matching the inflation rate. Sure, a new camry is cheaper than a 98 was but in 98 a middle class earner could easily afford the 98 camry with 24 month financing no problem, now a middle class earner will most likely have to finance 64+ months for that new camry. Your comment is not telling the full story my guy.
Vote with your wallet.

I really hope Toyota is also watching your videos. It's such a shame that some things are not the quality you would expect from the best car manufacturer...
Wow the general decrease in quality is disappointing. Seeing that hood shake at such low speeds is just sad. Love the review AMD. I wish toyota would continue to match their older quality with painted axels, grease fittings, hood stability and so much more.
Yeah that's not very "Toyota". That brings me back to old 80's cars
That hood flutter is insane. Would drive me nuts as it’s in your field of vision all the time.
I feel like the only thing it's missing is the ignition barking "TRD Pro" every time you start it.
Oh no! Don't write that! Now the next facelift will have that... And to counteract the cost of a teen sitting there for 10.000 man hours working on that, they will have to cut down even more on basic quality.
They want a TRD Pro logo on wheels!!! - Toyota
