Therefore, if a person gets a divorce because they couldn't continue their marriage because their spouse cheated on them (or the other way round), then they can still serve in the church.

Agreed. There's nothing wrong with having political beliefs whilst being a person of faith, as long as those two things remain separate.
@@eliesh3833 Completely disagree if you are to have political opinions they should come from a kingdom / Bible perspective. Not a worldly one.
@@DudeImWayBetter What does that even mean? Politics themselves are a worldly thing. That's why faith should be separate from political belief. If you base your faith entirely on politics, then it seems like you're believing in God for the wrong reasons.
There's actually a verse that may support this.
*Mark 12:17* "Jesus said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at him."
You may advocate whatever political beliefs that you want to, as long as your faith in God does not become intertwined with these things.
Your spiritual faith should not be placed in people or material things, only in God.
And if anything, I feel that being politically unbiased whilst supporting aspects of both sides is more Christ-like then just being one or the other. Both sides hold biblical values just as they both hold values that are unbiblical.
Frankly, I don't think either political side is the "biblical" one. They're both just political ideologies that conflict one other in a myriad of ways.
@@eliesh3833 nothing should be seperate from the kingdom / faith. If you have a belief that isn't first filtered through the Bible than what's the point of the Bible / your faith in the first place.

honestly some christians just choose the parts of the bible they want to believe. In both sides

The girl made a really good point about divorce vs homosexuality that no one countered.
Yeah, youre right. I think because Divorce is a "one-time" sin. Whilst homosexual relations last Long-term , and therefore become "lifestyles".
@katiebells the Bible explicitly states that God hates divorce, Malachi 2:16. If someone was divorced prior to becoming a Christian they are not going to be excluded from service. If someone was practicing homosexuality prior to becoming Christian they should not be excluded either. But no one can claim to be a Christian and also practice homosexuality. They also cannot claim to be Christian and desire divorce.
@@amartinez589 what are your thoughts on Annulment? Or legal, state-appointed marriage?
Most no fault divorces would be a sin in Gods eyes. But I guess it was Eve that ate the apple and women do initiate 85% of divorce and feminists were the ones that fought for no fault divorce so its no surprise

I find it weird that the question asked “Would Jesus protest” and people explained why they didn’t protest... the question didn’t ask what y’all would or did do
Thank You! I came to the comments looking for this
You bring up a very good point, which essentially is the basis of religion: ONE’S own beliefs and interpretations that are then put on Jesus.
Ikr, personaly I don't believe in god but if I did I would want to believe that he would. Because I would only want to believe in kind God that wants to help people.
Mind you, I'm not a christian, but I was born and raised one. Their responses to that question seem based on the fact they view Jesus as within them, and that Jesus is many things. If they did not participate, then Jesus would not participate, but they also explained why.
Once again, I do not hold these beliefs, but I do want to help explain where they are coming from.
I thought it was odd too. I bet that was all edited out. I could be wrong but it seems more likely than them skirting around the question like that.
