    this sounds like the beginning stages of manic depression. the exact thing happened to my best friend.
    she was seeming depressed for months then one day started being really paranoid and a situation with the guy she was seeing completely pushed her over the edge . thank God we were so close because I work in psych as a nurse so I noticed the signs and she drove across the country in the middle of the night with no sleep without telling anyone but I put a tracker on her phone so I called her family and we called the police, or else we probably wouldve lost her too. I don't wanna speculate but if she is manic depressive, she may not even know her name anymore. I pray they find some type of closure.

      Agree, I don’t know if she actually was harmed or maybe just becoming somewhat delusional. This is what I’m wondering as well. When she said that it’s worse than being assaulted or witnessing a murder I’m sitting here thinking what could be worse than that? It’s very confusing to me. • @sannerodenburg
    @sannerodenburg 3 роки тому +54

    It seems highly plausible to me that she became involved in the sex industry in Montreal: she was alone, young, pretty and in dire need of income: a vulnerable target. Once she realised the consequences of her actions, it could have been made impossible for her to quit this (probably criminal) scene. At the party she might have spotted one of her pimps or clients. This would explain her urge to flee, first to Quebec, later even further away to Hawksbury. An organisation involved in sex trafficking can have very longs arms indeed. It could also explain why she wouldn't tell her family and friends what had happened to her. Trauma could have played a role here, but also (knowing that she had originally chosen to become a sex worker out of her own free will) it could have been shame and loss of self worth. Maybe if her family could communicate to her via this page that they don't blame her and love her no matter what she did or didn't do, she could permit herself to contact them. But healing and forgiving yourself for what happened to you could take a lifetime.

      In 2009 someone in Hawkesbury claimed a young woman came to their door around 2am, seemed distressed and asked if they could use their phone. They claimed it was very cold but she was only wearing a light jacket, t shirt, jeans and high heels and looked frail. They later saw a report on Marylin and were insistent they were 100% sure it was the girl who came to their door. Not definitive proof but very chilling.
      The fact that she was inappropriately dressed to the weather, in poor health yet wearing high heels makes me feel strongly she could have been a captive sex worker (slave) trying to flee. It reminds me a lot of the film Lilya 4 Ever, if anyone has seen it.

    People, if something has happened to you, tell at least one person (could be anyone you can trust or even leave a note hidden in your room, a counsellor, anyone) that way if you do disappear for any reason they can come forward and tell police what they know. If you don't want to be found (I didn't at the time) that's fine, but if someone harms you, you don't want them to get away with it.

    If she said that she has experienced something much worse than a murder, my brain immediately went to some sort of trafficking ring that she could have been swept up into or forced into in Montreal and somehow she was able to get out of it and immediately needed to leave Montreal and never return. Then, possibly, someone came after her even after she moved and either got her back into trafficking (hence the possible sightings) or killed her. Trafficking could definitely be worse than just witnessing a murder. Horrible things of all kinds happen in trafficking and she could have seen unspeakable things. My only confusion with that would be how she managed to escape any trafficking to begin with as I know from research that this is EXTREMELY hard to do. I hope this case is solved someday. TY, Rachel, it so nice of you to care about Marilyn's case. I'm from Qc province and yes our police forces are not always the smartest folks around but still,... Marilyn has left us with so many questions and for most, what happened in Montreal is so vague but to never want to ever go back there again raises a lot of questions. Was she involve or a witness of something, who really knows but something went terribly wrong to make her so depressed before she went missing. Merci Beaucoup, Rachel U did an Excellent Job covering that case! Love & Light Sweetie!

    Im so sick of this ish, people going missing and noone knows anything. I'm almost 40 and one thing I know is that someone knows something and saw something. Is there any footage? Atm the coffee shop now what If she saw something and the people found her she could be alive and sold now the fact they said they seen her and a man leds me to ask what else did you see what way did they go? Imjs you can't see two people without seeing things around them like you know I saw them two times but in different clothes we need to get this solved guys the police need help I think. Thank you for the upload ❤️💛🧡 be safe out there guys and have a happy 4th 💜🖤🤎 I hope she is safe and she left so she could feel and be safe 💛

    I wonder what the chances of her being pregnant were? I could see that causing so much havoc to her mental health for many reasons, and would be an ongoing stressor, depending on the situation. If she had been assaulted, and it resulted in pregnancy, I could definitely see the struggle of carrying a r*pists baby vs terminating the pregnancy. Or maybe she refused to terminate and that person wasn’t having it. Literally all speculation. But just a thought.

    First time moving away from home can cause anxiety,nervousness,then add in homesickness because it's the first move away from home. All this could have triggered underlying issues also.then maybe something bad did happen on top of those emotions and shortly after that is when she moved back home. Then ran off again thinking the bad thing wasn't going to stop. Sounds like in a way she's running from a bad situation to keep her family safe. Maybe she seen something she wasn't supposed too and threats of harming her family were being made. To keep them safe she fled and now has to stay one step ahead of the bad situation. Or it all could be her mental state of mind playing head games with her.

I also have a sibling who is schizophrenic and it was brought on by a traumatic incident. You don’t even know what is going on because they believe things so deeply that aren’t even happening so you don’t know what to believe. It’s very scary in any event. Could it be possible that she was having a illegal relationship with an underage boy. Possibly pregnant or something. She would be considered a child predator. Thats probably not it, but it does happen. The most unexpected women (teachers) do this pretty often.
    Maybe she had an abortion and felt wrong about it afterwards.
    I don't know, but no matter what the truth is I hope she is still alive and reaches out to her family someday. No family deserves the horrible feeling not knowing.

It reminds me a bit of the Tami Lynn Leppert case in that both victims appeared to be experiencing mental health issues and claimed to have seen something awful before they disappeared. My theory with both cases is that Marilyn and Tami left as a result of their mental health issues and then met with foul play along the way.

    I completely agree with what you said! Obviously, something tragic happened. And the fact that she wouldn't tell that friend that night( where the friend kept guessing, and she kept saying, nope.... worse). That makes it obvious. That CCTV footage of her at the atm, and the fact that she was looking around, like she was paranoid, I think instead of getting HERSELF $$, she kept looking back at someone, like she was being told to do it!!!! I have so many questions and no answers, and I hate that! I need closure, and ik if it's driving me crazy, a concerned stranger, ik it's making her family stay so so destitute. A lot of people do things, like go off with people, scared & terrified, to save their family, bc that's what most pathetic abductors use a messed up mechanism, to get them to go and it's so sad! And the backpack, she could've stashed it in the yard, the night be before. Idk, and I'll rack my brain! In our thoughts and prayers..... always!

She's around 5ft7, curly brown/auburn hair, very similar smile/nose/cheekbones, thin brows. She doesn't have the same birthdate, she's 10 years older. Although she looks younger. She is very reserved, never talks about her life ever. She used to get help from a center that helps prostitutes, abused women, etc. She has drugs addiction, is in a withdrawal program. She's in the streets but tries to hide it. This Marylin patient has many foot problems, always talking about pain and blisters in her feet. She has to walk long distances, according to what she insinuates. In this scenario, she'd have relocated to be closer to them, but then whatever the threatening element was resurfaced, so she made an attempt to disappear.

      I happen to agree. Seems like it may have been someone with some clout and 'long arms', so to speak and not some small fish. If that was her in the small town, I doubt that the younger man that she was with was the one that she ended up with. He was probably just the muscle. Never put anything past the criminal minded. Some of the most brilliant, powerful people, are not good and kind. In fact, they see those traits as weaknesses to exploit. I have had some past dealings with some of those types. You learn to sleep with one eye open and trust no one, very quickly. No dealings with traffickers, just so we are clear here, just some pretty shady people from a former life. If they made her want to leave home just after arriving back in town, I've no doubt that she did so in order to protect everyone that she loved. It would make sense as to why she would tell her mother that when she felt safe, she would tell her mother about what was plaguing her. Seems to me that she never got the chance to because they followed or found her right off. But, because of all of the fine details, that's what leads me to believe that it was someone with power. Those aren't really small time criminal things, unless it was a single person with an unhealthy obsession. Which is possible as well, but less likely in my opinion.
