Woulda, coulda, shoulda is easy when you aren’t in an evils person’s sights! These people finesse their MO to suit whatever victim they choose and short of locking yourself in a house with police protection and never going outside, all of us are vulnerable to predators. But she probably practiced her look before they began filming and, having found the one she likes, is sticking to it.

    With the many horrific incidents that have occurred from online dating, I don’t understand why there isn’t more security that is put into place by these websites? I understand that it’s up to the users to be vigilant but it takes more than that. Criminal checks should be ran and posted if they are sexual or violent offenses and proof of address should be required. I just think there’s more that can be put into place to protect people. I feel so awful for Sydney and her family. You can tell by her pictures that she seemed like a very warm and loving person.
    Also, how dare Bailey use her child as a means to avoid the death penalty. I also feel awful that her child was brought into this world by such a disgusting human being.

      Same. I'm married to a guy I met on Match. Our first date was breakfast (after I worked night shift) at his house because it was spring of 2020 and nowhere to go and nothing much to do date wise. I was living with my parents and my dates always knew someone would notice if I went missing. I also let it be known that my family all did their own background check on them, including my ex-husband who's a really good amateur detective. This poor girl did everything right. I tried to have guys pick me up at home and they'd have to meet my parent's. Still, getting in a stranger's car isn't the smartest thing you can do let alone getting a bit tipsy and crashing on their couch. I'm so thankful 🙏 that my story ended well because it could have gone horribly wrong. God bless Sydney.

Look, I'm a woman, an intersectional feminist, I believe that women are extremely abused and mistreated by society and can fall victim to misogynistic abuse...but Idgaf if someone tells me I have to help kill someone or they'll kill me I'll let them kill me. I could not live with doing something so disgusting, like this, to another person. I've watched many true crime youtubers and can definitively say that none of them approach these cases with pure and honest compassion and empathy for the victim as you do!
    Many are too clinical; matter of fact, most can't hide their self-interest, and the victims story becomes a side note of 'their' show. There are some even who add supposedly comedic remarks to their presentations, downright mocking the victims' plight. So thank you, Rachel! Thank you for your humane approach. Thank you for covering this case! I live in Lincoln, and I have walked in and out of those doors (with my small children!)… where you see Aubrey looking back at Sidney. It’s so scary to think you can be passing by monsters and not even know it. What a heartbreaking story.

    It’s so disgusting and abhorrent that people like this lurk on dating apps and prey on LGBT people. As an assigned-female-at-birth person who doesn’t feel strongly about my own gender, I HATE when couples flood my dating app feed. I don’t want to be your “fun third.” I’m not your unicorn. Please stop baiting your couple’s dating app profile as a gorgeous girl and then asking me to be a damn sex object in your hetero relationship!!!! For the love of god, I am trying to find other single people who aren’t nefarious, lying, or gross. Why is that so much to ask!?

    • @skreemqueen756
      @skreemqueen756 2 роки тому +17

      I COMPLETELY agree. I’m a straight single female and have had men ask me out acting like they are also single. Then after talking a few times , they confess that actually they already are married or in a relationship and are looking for a 3rd. No no no no. I don’t care if that’s what someone is into but to represent it as something else to lure someone in , then switch is disgusting.

    • @kaitlynmaria751
      @kaitlynmaria751 2 роки тому +12

      I agree with this! I find it disturbing that people go on dating apps to look for their “fun third” or “unicorn”. Like no! They have specific apps/dating sites for that type of relationship.

      "An assigned female at birth". Your a female. I'm a lesbian and don't understand the huge surge in people over the last 10 years who feel trans. It wasn't a big thing until Obama was in office. I also get tired of women who contact me on dating sites and they look like men.

    • @iamegg6164
      @iamegg6164 2 роки тому +15

      @@rrg69able 🙄. You don't sound like a very tolerant human being... it's not that there is a "surge" of trans people. It's that more and more people are feeling comfortable with who they really are and can express that. As the world becomes a more tolerant place, people will feel more comfortable being who they are. Open your mind a little, please.

    I'm so sorry that this young woman lost her life by just trying to meet new people. No matter how many precautions you may take, there is always the chance you are meeting someone with ill intent. I'm from a different generation, so online dating wasn't a way of meeting others for dates. In saying this, I'm being honest when I say it does scare me to know others, especially young women, are meeting up for dates with those they know nothing about except what is posted for them to read. It it would be so easy to make up a very nice story about yourself. I just want everyone to be safe...but that's never 100% do matter how you have met your date. I've just read so many horror stories about these sites, but in particular Tinder. Maybe that's because it's one of the biggest and most popular. I understand these sites have safety tips to follow, e.g., meeting in a public place and not giving personal info at first. Also I've read to be sure you have your own transportation in case you find you should leave, maybe because you're not comfortable. Still, things can happen if there is ill intent there. Sydney, lost her lost her life too early and in such a horrific way, and her family lost a beloved member of their lives. I pray that Sydney is resting in peace and that her family has continued comfort and peace in their grief...God bless them.

    Even if she did go to her house the first day, she still did not deserve what they did to her, and she wouldn't deserve criticism from strangers on UA-cam, she and her family suffered enough, the only people who deserve criticism and disgust are bailey and aubrey. I really appreciate the way you told Sydney's story with such empathy for her and others who are just trying to find someone to be connected to, and for taking the time to make sure people are as safe as they possibly can be 💗

    This is so heartbreaking. I just started dating again after my partner of 21 years passed away. Times have definitely changed from when I was last single, to say the least. I went on a couple different online dating sites. I’m gay & probably 90% of the likes/messages I get are from couples (this was mostly on Tinder which I no longer go on). I recently had a bad experience where I met a woman, who said she was a lesbian, not bisexual as I made it clear in my profile I was not interested in couples, etc. We met for coffee the 1st time, it was nice. Then we met 1 night at a local bar/restaurant & she kept trying to get me to drink more & I was like “no I’m cool”. Anyway as we were set to leave, she went to the bathroom & walked back with this man who had been sitting at the bar. She introduced him as her husband & said “We really like you & want you to come home with us”🤬😡 What!!! Now look I’m 48 y/o & have no problem handling myself plus we were in my neighborhood bar & I know the workers & regulars there & they would’ve kicked his ass in a heartbeat. But I laughed & cursed them out & told them to go home & f*#k each other!! But again I’m older & wiser now. I fear for the younger generations of women & men who may be fooled by these predators!
