The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006), and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
The game is set 200 years after the events of Oblivion and takes place in Skyrim, the northernmost province of Tamriel, a continent on the planet Nirn. Its main story focuses on the player's character, the Dragonborn, on their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon who is prophesied to destroy the world. Over the course of the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel anywhere in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

Having played skyrim so much that I know the real dialogue by heart, I can tell some of the translations arent that far off😂

In Finnish dragons are called "lohikäärme" aka salmon snakes
@@Sfeksophobia indeed they are. I remember laughing about it with my mum when I was younger. When we translate some of these things to English it's funny.
In many slavic languages the word for dragon and the word for snake are very similar, so possibly it got confused.
Sounds like it should be a kenning from the sagas. Somehow fitting for Skyrim 😊
There is a version of this mod where not only what the NPCs say is badly translated but literally everything. Their names, the items, the ingredients, weapons, etc. You should try that as well.

This is the mod, he just forgot to turn on the plugins. If not then only voice is changed. I forgot that too! In the vortex there is in the left corner plugins and you can enable them there. 😊
Oh yeah, I think it's the same one. And I've never seen Skyrim so those plugins make it even more confusing haha. Just like chaos mod for GTA, this mod is my first experience so I am extra confused😅

yeah, the item translation is honestly the craziest part of the mod.
I’m so glad they added Kevin's language to Skyrim, now we can all enjoy the game.
It's so wholesome getting to watch him play the main quest for the very first time, now that he can finally understand it.

Im pretty sure calling someone a "milk drinker" is the equivalent of calling them a child
It’s a mistranslation of an old timey insult, “milksop”, which means Wimp.

i ran 'ancient nord battle axe of cold' through google translate about 20 times and ended up with 'wonderful old nordic clover' you're welcome

The more support we show to the mod, the more likely it is that we can get a series of this ! Right now, they only have about 6% of lines translated :(
so that's why there were some untranslated ones in there! it's gotta take FOREVER to do the entire game. it has so much dialogue

definitely more than the 13 total voice actors they use to voice all the NPCs
They're trained from the game's original voice lines.

@@be1100 Not true; they're premade voices available from the AI speech synthesizer ElevenLabs. They're either completely AI-generated or used with full permission from the voice owners.
Yeah we pulled from the ElevenLabs AI voice library which is quite extensive. All voices are either completely AI-generated or uploaded with full permission from the voice owners!

Would make more sense if the dragons in Skyrim weren't actually wyverns, because then you could argue that dogs have 4 legs and dragons have 4 legs too, and snakes have scales and dragons have scales too so it's not so farfetched dragons are a mix of dog and snake!
this is really sending me back to when i first played the game. i wasn't very good at english yet so the original dialogue made about as much sense as this does

"burning down villages" got turned into general arson, which got turned into creating smoke
"legends" got turned into "people"
and "X don't Y" got turned into saying "it's a misconception that X's Y"
I mean semantically it's nonsense, but you can trace how it got there with a little backsolving

I believe there is a version which has NPCs' and objects' names translated too. I've seen the creator's video with such version at least.
Yeah he didn’t have subtitles either. It’s the same version he just didn’t enable the plugins
he forgot/ didn’t turn it on. there is an option in the mods menu to turn that feature on
@@casualdelulu nah no mod menu, there’s 5 plugins, 4 do the items, names, etc, the other does the subtitles. The voices are file replacers so they work without the plugins but I don’t think Kevin enabled them.
