The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is an open-world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios, and co-published by Bethesda Softworks and 2K. It is the fourth installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following 2002's The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, and was released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 in 2006, followed by PlayStation 3 in 2007. Taking place within the fictional province of Cyrodiil, the game's main story focuses on the player character's efforts to thwart a fanatical cult known as the Mythic Dawn that plans to open portal gates to a demonic realm known as Oblivion.

I remember years ago I gave Oblivion a try. It was in the middle of the night in a pitch dark room. I was walking on a road and someone came up to me from behind to talk to me so the camera zoomed around to their face. The face was so uncanny that it legitimately scared me and made me feel so creeped out that I quit the game and have never gone back since lmao

Yeah, I just don't see it you must have got to get your eyes checked, like have you even seen imagery on Renaissance art? Maybe you should take another look at others because all there is to see is the classic Gamebryo engine/Bethesda's Creation Engine greatness and monstrosity of a character creation mechanic, sliders and numbers, the quality is just too "new" even in 144p, it looks too good for that type of thing, must be why there's only less than a hundred Likes not enough people are tricked into seeing it or sheeple and yes man it. It looks more like that shitty restored version of the Virgin Mary, you KNOW the one I am talking about, if not just google it and feel bad you didn't know or had never seen it because it's a good one and you should have seen it earlier, it's "worth it" Still, it is OLD news not just literally "old" as the painting itself but the restoration failure is still fairly new in a sense but old because of how fast the internet movies. I.E. Mario's Chris Pratt VA, the "Sussy Baka" thing which is dying out, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 or even the original VA for Mario in media up to this current year of 2023 sometime after the Mario movie came out, retiring and living out the rest of his days in a quieter life.

OBLIVION IS ALSO A MASTERPIECE
I remember the moment an RPG intrigued me for the first time, and that was Oblivion around release. I saw a friend play it, and he was walking around the city, going into people's houses and he told me the NPC's have routines and that the owner of the house wasn't home at that time.
At the time, the fact that NPC's had homes and routines in their AI life and i could explore that was just insane to me and i owe Oblivion for opening me up to this fantastic genre.
It's not just routines, they had lives. Same thing with morrowind too. The game was not dependent on you to exist, the world inside the game existed wether you were involved or not, they all go to work, go to friends homes, go do creepy stuff at night, etc.
@kuura8731 having good ai is dated and goofy looking? The issues with oblivion looking goofy had everything to do with a face morphs error and physics, and nothing to do with the AI, the AI is better than 99% of tripple A games today.
@@tortellinifettuccine Morrowind NPC's did not have schedules or routines, at all. Their merchants will literally stand around in the same spot 24/7 always providing service, and never eating or sleeping lol.
@Jim_Lahey_88 they did????? That's why it was so well received, and why it was considered a unique rpg...many of the quests relied on waiting for specific times for specific characters to be there... The merchant thing is true but I mean yeah its an OLD game.

I'm so glad that Kevin does long form content ad is still popular. Short form content has been taking over but there are a select few doing long form content and its great.

Plenty of creators still do long form content, but yeah, the algorithm does not favor it. Which is idiotic since the number of people who like it is not insignificant.
Tbf this type of content so regularly is only possible with an editing team.

@@RenegadeVile UA-cam cares very little about the diversity of its watchers, even if one of the "minorities" is very large and rakes in a decent amount of money. It only cares about short term profit and making it as much as possible even if it means alienating many of its viewers. I really despise the short content that's jam packed with insane eye catching editing and the narrator speaking so fast you can barely keep up, I much prefer playthroughs like Kevin's. There are a lot of content creators that only care about catering to young children so they make their videos as chaotic as possible to keep their interest. It's a shame.
I love that Kevin totally forgot that in Oblivion, if you start a conversation with someone while your weapon is drawn, their attitude towards you is immediately lowered, as people don't like it when someone approaches weapon drawn.
1:02:07 Fact: That ship that's mentioned in the diary is part of a side quest on Anvil where you need to recover a crystal ball from a ship full of ghost, this "ghosts" being the victims murdered by the dark brotherhood traitor for making fun of him.
It's always a blessing when you upload Oblivion, thank you. The silly and funny dialogs from this game never gets old specially adding your sense of humor.

The fact that Kevin tried killing Valen Dreth to get into the Dark Brotherhood is peak comedy, since you literally have to kill him during the DB questline.
The mod you have for their faces is so cursed. I didn't think the oblivion faces could get more uncanny.
Makes me wonder whats the point of the mod. I assumed it was to improve the graphics, but youre saying it looks worse? To clarify, i never played Oblivion, i only know it because of Kevin and watched the originals videos so long ago i dotn even remenber how it looked. So it will take your word for it about the look of their faces.

First time I played all the way through the Dark Brotherhood quests I was shocked to silence when I found the Black Hand had killed Lucien. I just couldn't believe they'd done that and my buddy was dead, I was so sad.

I was really happy to get the Specrtral Assassin Spell in Skyrim to find out that it was, in fact, Lucien LeChance getting his due by getting a place next to Sithis's side as his loyal servant for eternity.

I've never played Oblivion but I played Skyrim from the disk on my laptop A LOT before my house got internet which was a loooonnnnggg time. I like how Tamriel is a consistent world so every version is enjoyable if you've only played one of the games.
This game was amazing. I remember getting a new graphics card a week after getting it and being fascinated by shadows and light...😂

My dad got me into this game when I was no older than 10, and needless to say it has driven my love for open world games! Oblivion seemed way ahead of its time then, and it still holds up. Need more Oblivion content!!!

My favourite thing about this video is literally the fact that Kevin is using the Oblivion Character Overhaul mod, which makes their faces look so much nicer and less on the potato side but for some reason, he kept the default oblivion hairstyles. So you get Delos Fandas for example who looks nice but he has the famous Adoring Fan haircut.

I love oblivion so much. Even after I accidentally became a vampire on my very first playthrough at like level 5 and was confined to bruma feeding on the homeless at night then hiding in random houses to survive. Second play through I somehow got through it it’s so serious yet memeable.
A whole hour of elder scrolls kevin has made me incredibly happy 😊❤

I remember the first time I ever played oblivion; it was freshman year of high school, and I was playing until like 3AM. I didn’t know anything about the game other than it was elder scrolls and I grew up with morrowind. I played until the first oblivion gate and was fighting scamps with the kvatch guard you find in there. I accidentally landed the killing blow on the guard, and I remember the text, “Your killing has been observed by forces unknown.” First time I ever saw that, I got a shiver up my spine and was legitimately on edge for hours after that, waiting for some eldritch horror to appear and drag me to the abyss or something.
Oh yes! I can’t wait for a guard to be like “hmm must’ve been the wind” 😅

Xbox 360 oblivion was one of the games of all time, those loading screens, but that ambience, sitting on the floor, sounbar and subwoofer bumpin, smeaking through the planes of oblivion, scared of the monsters. I love it, for kevin to bring it back to me! Oh and its an hour! Oh yes yes!
Sound bars were already a thing way back then? I was playing Oblivion on my flat screen CRT's built in speakers lmao, I don't think I even heard of a sound bar until many years later. Obviously I knew of surround sound and other speaker systems, but I thought sound bars didn't come around until fairly recently
