‘She got really sick’: Jordan Peterson talks on daughter’s ‘brutal’ illness

- Clinical psychologist and public intellectual Dr Jordan Peterson talks about his daughter Mikhaila’s “brutal” health challenges in her childhood and how they were able to overcome them as a family.
Mikhaila was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis at age 7.
“I told Mikhaila when she was a little kid when she got really sick … ‘you’re going to have a very hard life, it’s going to be brutal’,” Mr Peterson told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan.
“She had the worst case of arthritis that the Toronto sick kids hospital had ever seen.
“That’s not a diagnosis you want to hear from a hospital - not a big hospital.”
My daughter was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis at 2yr old. Now in her 30's, her daily uncomplaining courage, and her awareness of God's grace in her life inspires me. Thanku so much for sharing ❤🙏
My son had seizures, went blind and other things and he makes me a better person because he just pushed on and now has had cornea transplants in both eyes takes a lot of meds and in mid 50’s he has a wonderful family and comes from out of state to see me every couple of months. ❤️🙏

Growing up with visual impairment, severe lung conditions and a mentally ill mother who wanted a sickly and whimpering child to show the world what a great and all suffering mum she was but immediately ignored him when nobody was watching made life interesting. It left me feeling guilty for being pampered for show and angry for being used. It's taken a lifetime of mistakes to recognise and deal with the problems and yet I see people like the Peterson family and it fills me with hope that all of us can face life and overcome it. It might feel like we are losing but while ever we keep fighting we can never be defeated.
Been there and have always used the “why not you”. It had nothing to do with Biden or a cartoon but just a truth. Everyone has something that we don’t know about. One thing I did was not allow negative people in my life. It was the one thing that I could control

Gentleman of culture can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that Jordan Peterson's daughter is gorgeous?
She's full of plastic surgery and sure it's her choice but she lies about it and mainly is infecting strangers with her eating disorder, still trying to convince the beta-males who follow her that eating plants is somehow more invasive to the immune system than jaw implants, lip and cheek fillers and face lifts. That's foreign stuff that shouldn't be there and will cause autoimmunity. And any needless non-reconstructive surgery is life-threatening.

Honesty, these 2 give me the creeps. They both seem to have some sort of mental health issue. I check up and the daughter has bipolar (type 2), this results in disorder thinking, while sounding plausible. I’ve not delved into him but I would put money on him having a condition. How do I know about bipolar? My sister who is now 73 was diagnosed in her 30’s. I have seen her both well and unwell both of these facets have something off kilter.

You are so right. I developed severe pain in my lower legs that I can only imagine felt like bone cancer. The pain would let up for a few days a week, and had been recurring for about a month. I finally realized whenever I ate pizza with big pieces of green red and yellow orange peppers on it that my pain was coming back. I never liked peppers when I was young, and had just developed a taste for them. I stopped eating the peppers, and the severe pain went away. Hopefully this comment attached to yours will help someone else.

Maybe she understood something better as she went through life. During her work with her father, she can add some good conclusions from her own experience, for example about choosing your partner so that people do not make the same mistake as her. Doctors aren’t trained in determining the root cause of disease and to what to give the body in order for it to heal. Nor are they trained to refer people to a health practitioner with clinical experience in treating the root cause of disease. The result is giving people a diagnosis based on their own very limited understanding of the human condition (body, mindset and emotional state) which results in prolonged suffering.
