I actually shouted "NO" at the finger stretcher thingy; do NOT BUY, USE, OR ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO USE THIS. YOU MAY PERMANENTLY DAMAGE YOUR HAND.
since it appears to have done nothing, I'm guessing it isn't damaging the hand. But... I can't imagine a device like that making any meaningful change to once hand-span without causing damage...
I imagine some rookie getting that...and pushing it too far.
So thats why I cant play that Fmin chord, its nothing to do with my skills or dexterity, its because my fingers are too close. Duh.
Liszt wants to know you location
@@rickfeith6372 Guitar is like yoga for the fingers... We need to realize that we can, with practice and stretching, get to those chords eventually. My hands are above average size but my dexterity is pretty bad. We can all get there
@@alexmurphy5289 I actually started out playing (butchering) all these songs that required very stretchy chords. For context, I have big hands but my fingers are small compared to the rest of my hand. What I've noticed is that I can now actually bend all my fingers 90 degrees in every direction. Fair to say, I can stretch a whole lot and those jazz chords mean nothing to me now. Cower in fear, John Petrucci.
This dude has the most metal strat and doesn’t even play metal. Looks cool.
I found that thing buried deep in the guitar store I used to work at. It was a killer deal too and I've grown to love it
samuraiguitarist okay well, one, I’ve seen that video and love it and two I love you and that you felt you should reply. Love you Sammy
Kinda reminds me of Kirk Hammett's Ednacaster
metal? looks like every typical 80s dad strat, not like a metal one. imo metal looking strat would be an inca silver body with a black pickguard, pickups, knobs, and switch, with a rosewood or ebony fretboard not a maple one
not that it matters anyways, i just wanted to make fun of goofy cheesy dadrock like iron maiden by insinuating that its not metal (looks exactly like a maiden guitar)
but hey, you're welcome for giving you that beautiful mental image
Psyfonify this is for sure a metal strat, a, what I think is an 81, emg in the bridge and a Floyd? Also Maiden never used a guitar like this, Kirk Hammett of Metallica did tho, so yeah it’s pretty metal by metal standards.

Samurai Guitarist: The guitar just isn’t meant to be bowed.
Jimmy Page: Hold my pick.
Potentially unpopular opinion, it only sounded good when Jimmy did because of all the effects. Granted, It did sound good though and it was super cool
Let’s face it, Jimmy is the only guitarist that will seriously get away with using a bow on guitar.
@@samuraiguitarist he did it without a lot of effects before rah just gotta find the right vids the denmark live radio is a good example
@David McAninch : I'm so tired of the worn out "hold my beer" cliche, but I love your "hold my pick" version, lols.
Aylbdr Madison gotta take care of the musicians, you know what I’m saying? Be they guitarists, drummers, vocalists, or even bassists, we provide the music for you.
Hand stretchers always looked to me like bad injuries waiting to happen
Chord Buddy has a use for music therapy, and physical therapy. Imagine if you have had some brain trauma, or other physical trauma. Playing music helps connect pathways in your brain. Plus if you have had physical trauma to your hand, even just pressing down on a chord buddy and strumming guitar can be very helpful.
Or you could just use a synthesizer...seems too poorly made to be therapeutic.
-The Midi Guitar Wing is just the product I've been looking for for 20 years. Being a paraplegic, I can't use a pedal board. I could hook this up to my Fender CyberTwin and control it with this. Thanks Sammy G!
xD
Damn, when I play guitar, I sound just like Sammy G with a huge pick.
Feeling kinda proud about it, don't know why.
You and me, bro. Maybe we should get a really tiny pick to compensate?

8:58 That pick slide 😂
Ha Ha - that guitar pick testing was such a Spinal Tap moment.
I was hoping to see the worlds biggest pick scrape.
Also, Nigel taught us that guitar is not meant to be bowed with a bow; a guitar should be bowed with a violin. And make sure the violin is in tune!
I laughed so hard at "puny little weakling." That caught me so off guard 😂
That made me laugh so hard Lmao 😂

I can see why they're on the Jazz III. The Jazz I was a tad big.
Speaking as a string player, the Piranha Bow probably needed more rosin for any better result. It would probably work better for a classical guitar due to the smooth strings or it could be paired up with the Kaki King Bridge to make it sound a lot better :)
The big pick sounds like a 6 year old playing guitar hero
FACTS
9:12 this sounds like me
Imagine the kaki king bridge with a pick up in it, as well as a pick up in the bridge of the guitar. So many tonal possibilities!

Guitar is supposed to be difficult, and I understand we all have to start somewhere (I still play open chords / cowboy chords myself...) but having a gadget to help you with the "easiest" chords isn't a good start to a musical journey IMO. Phenomenal video as usual

My dad bought me a chord buddy when I started playing guitar 8 years ago... how is it still living?!?
Dude keep making these sort videos as well as the weird guitar pedals and your channel will grow heaps! Keep it up man love your vids :D
I know that this has already been mentioned, but I also really want to warn against the finger stretching thing. Seriously, the famous composer Robert Schumann literally did permanently damage his hand with a finger strengthening device destroying his chances of ever becoming a concert pianist.
That giant pick was actually useful! For pick-slides.
For all the Sammy G fans, if you have Kaki King's 1st CD "Legs to make you longer" then there's a bonus track at the end of the song "My Insect Life" called "Nails" which uses this bridge. It starts about 5:40 into "Insect" after a long silence which sounds like the first song had ended.
SAmmyG: "The guitar isn't meant to be bowed"
JImmy Page: "Hold my beer."
That movable bridge thing looks awesome! Playing in open tunings is great for inspiration too! Looks like I found a new gadget!
5:16 Best Advice Ever! Really, if you need a particular sound, faking it never works.
I love how you wrote a short piece of music tailored for each gadget. That's real musicianship and giving the toys a fair trial. You're probably the only person on earth who could make a pick of that size sound good!
The Kaki King Bridge gives a really nice set of sounds, i'd love to try it actually!

Welcome back to Watchmojo, and today we’re talking about The Best DLC’s for guitar
I am definitely making myself one of those koto-guzheng-bridge thingies. What a great idea. As you mentioned, there should be some interesting overtones when used at different frets - maybe fret 7 or 9?
I love this series, good detail, good prices, and some items to add to my christmas list
That violin gadget hurt my teeth tbh
"the guitar is not meant to be bowed" SIGUR ROS HAS ENTERED THE CHAT
Jimmy Page has entered the chat
The e bow isn't touching this one
Eh? Eh?
If you can run that Midi thing to control a midi floorboard you can actually have a pedalboard right on your scratchplate. And thus. If you set it up right it's actually amazing.
You can go out from the stage and shred your awesome solos while being in the middle of the circlepit. And then. If the solo is over press engage the rhythm channel right from the pit
I've been following your videos for quite a while now, and I definitely did not expect to get slapped with the lick in one of them.
Bravo.
The first tune was an absolute BOP

Check out Kaki King's song Bowden Island to hear that bridge as used by the original artist. It's super cool.

Jimmy Page stares at the screen angrily
jglee1236 LITERALLY every other guitarist nods in agreement
Maybe....but then again....e-bows. Typically the need for an actual bow has been negated ever since.
Thanks for reviewing the fretting thing. That's the kind of thing I was looking for, for my dad a while back when he had a stiff hand that didn't seem to be getting any better. It's a shame this device doesn't work well, but the good news is his hand has freed up quite a bit and he can play some chords again.
Oh and whatever you played with the bridge thingy was really sick.
Awesome list and showcase of these rather untraditional features indeed! Although I won't lie, that first gadget gave me anxiety when it was used in action....

1:40 the last bend on the lower string sounds so dope.
You can shred better with that giant pick than I can with a normal one. Also that pick slide made me very happy.
I never said you could use my bridge.
you should put as many on a guitar as you can at the same time and make a song using them all
The bit you played with the oversize pick sounded like the riff to "the real enemy" by The Business and covered by Nausea
Some thoughts on Livid Guitar Wing. I own it and use for several years including gigs. To requires some practice to tap exactly on the center of pads. The sensitivity of every pad can be changed in the software but it is not flexibile enough. I use it for switching/adjusting effects on my ipad or to launch non-vital samples. It has gyroscope as well so the sound can be controlled by your movement. The good thing is that is not expensive nsive, fits any guitar (with a thing like UHU tac) and well-built. ACPAD costs much more and it is not really good.
The bridge thing sounds like an exotic eastern instrument turner

Tunir Ghosh Fun fact: that’s exactly how a Guzheng (Chinese) / Koto (Japanese) works.
There's a kind of horizontal harp on a box thing from China that works like that guitar mod. I don't know what it's called.
@@snakey8095 I know, just couldn't remember the name, actually sounds quite similar to some novice Sitarist too.

The first thing was really cool, even though i was scared the strings would break.
The head sized pick made me laugh out loud. :)
Use the guitar wing to trigger arm/rec in ableton Live for looping. AWESOME
😁🤘🎸Many years ago, I tried using a violin bow on my Bass Guitar, with a lot of trouble I could get a crazy sound out of it, but all it really did was gum up my strings with the Rosin off the bow. Rosin is really sticky stuff and when it gets into your Round-Wound strings, it makes them go dead and there's no getting that stuff out!!😁🤘🎸
I like how every time he says "hello everyone," it's in the same key.
8:59 seems like sammy g. just needs a big guitar pick to sound like me.
Im getting that raised, movable bridge. I love Koto, that bridge is basically a Koto bridge. Really nice demos!
This series is so fuggin good!
For the violin stuff, just use a pencil, you’ll get the same result
Or just play a violin ya dingus
@@samuraiguitarist but after buying five guitars I don't have enough money for violin ya dinga.
It’s called guiolon
I say be creative in your arrangements and sound pallet. What would Jimi or The Beatles or even Eddie do? I thought what you made with it was pretty cool. It could be just the right sound for a certain part.
The licc FTW!
I have serious problems fretting a normal guitar due to my fingers being rather thick and not very flexible. I tried the Chordbuddy, and let me tell you, if anyone has a similar issue, there's a product out there for you. Probably. I just haven't found it yet, as it certainly is NOT the Chordbuddy. Because your guitar needs to fit, otherwise you can't use it. And the way it is built, yours likely won't fit. Sammy actually managed to fit it quite well, at least better than anything I could do.
In my case, the nobs that are supposed to push down the strings actually went IN BETWEEN the strings and got stuck. It was almost comically bad, like it was designed to do that. Unless they create a new version that can be adjusted horizontally, don't risk it. Try something else. Like... converting your 6-string guitar into a 4-string or something, so you have more space between the strings.
6:00 I'm playing the piano for 15 years and I could tell after around 8 years that my left hand not only got bigger but also had a bigger span due to the octaves I was playing. It's not much, but 2cm are 2cm
7:45, You're going to get a copyright claim from Adam Neely.
Why get that bow when you could get an ebow? Ebows are great
I'm the proud owner of a fully functional e-bow, and in MY hands it does'nt sound the least great :-P
Agreed, I used the ebow in the first Gimmicky Gadgets and it's definitely the best violin type thing for guitar
love the audiobahn speaker cover i had a few of those
I do have an ailment, and that cord thing (well any) just makes things worse.
I instead went to mark Sandman's bass setup with the slide and it really helped my playing.
Might box me into a certain way, but it's enjoyable enough. And since I just fool around, that's good enough for what I need.
Got a nice George Harrison vibe there Samurai.
Jimmy Page can play the hell out of a guitar with a bow though, let’s be honest...
The chord buddy, I could use that cause the joints in my fingers bend backwards when pressures applied
That chord button device is good for that young fella out there who wants to get his pole buffed but doesn't want to go through all the effort of actually learning the guitar
