+1
Hearing that part put me in true bliss
Hey Sammy G, can you do me a favor :-) Play A.S.H. version of Awe of She from the Guilty Gear std, It's probably the most metal of soundtracks ever created for a game.
"were pretty far away on our family tree" fucking gold
I don't know enough about math rock to know if that was any good, but I know enough about pop country to know it was executed perfectly... which, of course, means it was awful.. perfectly awful.
Please put the last tune on spotify
Hi Paul!
Ngl that tune caught me off guard
Omg, yes.
paul?
paul?
Frankly, this was too good to not be a regular thing.
Seriously it'd be wicked if it was regular like his HUFOs which are also gold
yesss
Do it round here has been stuck in my head for days
Nice profile pic
I have the exact tele in your pfp
HE USED MINE!! HE USED MINE!! HE USED MINE!! Thank you so much SammyG, you rock!! I’m sorry you had to go outside in the cold to do mine though, but luckily you had that warm blues riff to keep the cold away!
I read this just as he was playing yours
same @Jason Finnegan
That is so wholesome my guy
Not gonna lie, the "impression of a busy afternoon at a Guitar Center" 2:19 is a very well composed piece of avant garde sound art. Love it :-D
As a a GC employee, I can attest to the fact that he is spot on.
That "we're pretty far on our family tree" line had me dead
That’s how we do it round here 😂
Fun fact. In the state of Mississippi they require couples to provide their birth certificate to prove theyre not related. My co worker married a guy from Mississippi and described the whole process lol
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that caught that 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That line should be obligatory in country.
@@Nebb74 Oh, dude, when I moved to Mississippi, my wife and I had to provide a birth certificate to transfer our driver's licenses. Same reason.
Love the "There's no price tag so it must be free" in the Guitar Center track
That's legit PTSD for me... lol
White people love that joke almost as much as white people love saying, “Not going far without these.” after almost forgetting their keys.
@@zachiswayposi1 what about "you working hard or hardly working"
@thetreesofclues you got time to lean to got time to clean
@@zachiswayposi1 what about "this is too spicy"
I literally laughed out loud at the "John Lennon Interview" 😂 Great Rick Beato impersonation 👏🏼👏🏼 and as always, great content... Loved it ❤️❤️
Same. It caught me so off guard I startled my wife and kid on the other end of the couch.
lol I cried so loud))))))
2:20 "there's no price tag on it, that must mean its free" cracked me up !😂
When you listen to the "typical afternoon in Guitar Center", you can hear him saying "Hah, there's no price tag on, that must be for free" two times... ouch.
Dude the math rock melody is kinda like spot on if you’re trying to reach like a universal math rock sound. Kudos
Right!? Dude said that he didn't know much about it and ended up writing a suuuuper tasty guitar part that would fit in any math rock project lol
I'm enjoying the plants
As a Texan, I can confirm that his rendition is exactly what a lot of radio country sounds like.
Yes! Relief after poop definitely sounds like early 90s sitcom intro!
That Math Rock Country song was so cursed, yet worked so well LMAO
The musical interpretation of taking a poop has got to be the most emotional I've ever seen Sammy G. And I'm not quite sure how I feel about that.
The Tarantino Dire straits song was EXACTLY how I thought it would sound! Wonderful job! Great video Sammy!
Dude, “After Massive” is a world-class bop.
The "Smoking crack in a Walmart parking lot at 3 am" song could easily be in a Better Call Saul/Breaking Bad scene.
JESSE WE NEED TO SMOKE CRACK
Yes dude, i think It would fit better in BCS
The "tune in for the John Lennon interview" surprised me with a really big laugh..
The whole Learning Tricks with Uncle Rick segment was hysterical!
"How We Do It 'Round Here" is my new favorite country song while simultaneously being my favorite math rock song.
Really REALLY love the "Play something that sounds like" videos. Equal parts hilarious and awesome
3:26 Let’s not forget he composed the music for The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Rip king
As a former manager of a Guitar Center, your representation of a music store’s ambience is spot on.
wait but like, can we get a full version of that math pop country song? i will pay you several dollars for it.
Several dollars? Look at rich uncle money bags over here!
ill add several more dollars to that aswell
I almost had a heart attack when his guitar slid a little on his amp
It's a really sweet amp. Sammy's dad built it. Now there is an awesome dad. Respect.
That 7/4 chicken picking reminds me of playing with some country guys who couldn’t count to four to save their lives. They’d often change chords and lyrics mid-measure with no rhyme or reason. Drove me crazy.
I feel the sound of a 303 acid bass preset is the perfect description of smoking crack in a Walmart parking lot at 3AM.
This may be one of the most valuable lessons I've learned in music production
The more you know: Ennio Morricone was the first person that got the idea to introduce the guitar in the western filmscore and that was necessary because of the low budget of the first western movies he got to write the music for (sorry for my bad english).
By no means in the modern age does this qualify as "bad english"... I am ESL French Canadian but many Native speakers throw grammar away nowadays. Very cool tidbit thank you for sharing.
7:39 (playing blues as if out in the cold) has been done to perfection by Seasick Steve with 'Salem', the way he rubs the strings is such a great effect.
I was half expecting him to say "breakups are tough" then start shredding
2:32
"Actually....no that was 2 am" 💀
You really nailed the Rick Beato style lesson, looking forward to the Lennon interview now!
Alright, the math rock/country and the poop riff were the best things I’ve heard in quite awhile. Thank you so much for doing this, thanks to those who made all the suggestions, and I hope this becomes a channel staple and you do this as a frequent series.
8:12 Damn I was hoping for Rush on the hockeystick guitar
He saved the best one for last.
_"It's how we do it 'round here."_ 🎶🤣
04:00 would be a sequel to Screaming Jay Hawkins "Constipation Blues"
7/4 is one of my absolute favorites, so that was a great experience!
next challenge: Play a 5:4 polyrhrythm bass line against a Bembe pattern subdivided to 4/4 triplets...that is my biggest challenge.
I'm going to come right out and say it: that finger picked Knofler/Tarantino jam was OUTSTANDING?! I'd love to hear a full length version of it.
this has to be my favorite vid of yours so far, great job on all these! i was cracking up
"There's no price tag on it: that must mean it's free."
I like the hidden bit in the guitar store cacophony lol.
The math rock pop country thing is very cool and something I would genuinely listen to it's like what someone would imagine Midwest emo is after not knowing what it is
Sammy G has some incredible skill. The fact that he can make up all of these sounds giving a basic prompt is incredible. It requires a large understanding of Music Theory and all the different genres. As well as being able to shred the guitar. I think he did it really great job recreating all of these and they sound exactly like the situation. I think that he needs to congratulate himself more.
ANOTHER!!! Love this, man. Would love to see more.
I respect that you played the Dire Strairs part with fingerpicking. Well done!!
I really like this kind of video...but to be hinest I like all of your videos, so just keep on doing what you do and don't forget to enjoy your (family-)life. :)
7:03 Haha that's brilliant, "John Lennon Interview"
Especially the last one, showcased your love for goofing around while making awesome music. Don’t be afraid to be goofy while being yourself
You nailed them all in my book, Sammy! This is definitely gold material, m'man, though it looks like you put a crap load of time into it. Wow. Just, bravo for a video this complex and good!
The massive dump one was great, almost had me rolling on the floor! Thanks for the laughs!
As a southerner who has had a toe dip into math rock that was a perfect recreation of the combination
Great concept -it's creative, challenging, you really put yourself out there, and it's a lot of fun!
So utterly fantastic. Thank you so much for this. Great work!
That math rock lick was spot on. Fine work and may Chon be with you. 😊
The poop one was amazing, went from deep nasty grunge to sonic adventure/90s afternoon sitcom rif and I couldn't be happier
Dude, I love your melodic guitar style and your vids are ridiculously creative
I loved the blues in the snow bit.
Your expression was just like mine every year during first snow. Just as excited about snow...
I’m 2 minutes in and thoroughly entertained… well now I’m finished the whole thing and wow that was a great one
The originality in this video is unfathomable, subscribing to see the next one of these
These were all so good. You're as amazing as always!
09:33 was the best thing I’ve ever heard. Wish it was on Spotify 😂
"Baby don't you worry, can't you see? That we're pretty far away on our family tree." killed me! xD
What a great line lmao.
Really enjoyed your video, the songs and your new Tequila sunrise guitar. Great stuff!
🤣🤣🤣keep it up, mate! Your videos are fun and instructive.
" 'Sow we do't raund hr' " needs to be a full track. Thank you for that laugh. Great work.
4:23 this adds a whole new meaning to 'the song is sh*t'
Awesome! More of these in the future plz!
The massive dump one is my fav lol, your expressions are also hilarious
Annnnnnd subscribed! This is fantastic, well done!
I feel like this guy should be more famous than he is now
Was not expecting that math rock/country song to hit that hard
Incredible as always. Thanks for the groovy tunes man
that was beautiful! the massive poop was spot on and had me cackling, and the country/math rock crossover had me dead, and was honestly more well done than it had to be. thanks for doing that for us!
Please write a whole album of the Quentin Tarantino/ Dire Straits crossover music. I really want to hear what you'll come up with. It was actually awesome!
04:40 😅
How 'bout do next:
Eric Clapton on cocaine
Snoop dog on weed
Kurt Cobain on heroine
Amy Winehouse on alcohol
You get the point....
That, my dude, was freakin' GREAT! Thanks for the laughs and keep up the great work.
This is an amazing exercise in creativity and you executed it SO well playing so many different styles
I haven’t bought an album in years...but I would buy the “that How we do it roun’ here” single 🤣
I have an odd request that has been lingering in mind for far too long. It would satisfy my curiosity greatly if you were to play us some chunky metal chuggs on your Dano baritone. I implore you, it needs to be done. I know that's not your area of expertise, but I believe in you. 🙏
P.s. just in case it's needed, my username is pronounced "tow-fat-ness" 😎🤙
This Is utterly brilliant please make more!
That last one was an amazing combo!
You nailed it.
Well done.
One of, if not THE BEST, SammyG videos ever. Seriously, the Rick Beato and Math/Country x-over were next level. Do more of that. StevieT would be proud.
has anyone ever played stairway in the store? if so, did you ever do something to stop them?
We need more of this, I love it
Your song at the end *actually* made me laugh out loud.
*Best thing I've seen in a long time*
Dang man, you hit the Beato post right on the head. All you needed was a white haired wig.
John Lennon..HA
Needed more copyright/takedown rant, though.
@@AlaiMacErc nah, his channel has those rants. The Instagram teaching posts are just ridiculously weird guitars lines.
@@brianspenst1374 Ah,gotcha. I'm not on insta, so wasn't aware of this brand subdivision. :)
9:24 I hated this
But you did a really good job with it
that math rock country jam gave me one of those startling/jolting laughs that only come around every couple years. thank you!
this is the best guitar content I ever saw, so freakin good.
This is a Certified h00d classic
He's better playing guitar with two fingers that I'll ever be in my whole life
You sir are extremely talented and blessed! your channel rocks bro!
Amazing! Hope to see more of it!
Hilarious video and great looking strat. I particularly liked the surf track 🌊
I have watched every single Samurai Guitarist video and I can confirm this is the best one ever, this is where he just let it all flow, no holds barred
this is a great regular content stream - enjoyable and the ideas will never run out!
I f**king lost it at the last one. And your Knopfler was impeccable 🤣
I enjoyed this tremendously, thanks Sammy!
god damn sammyg, you nailed it all, thank you for making my day brighter!!!
Nice job. I love these!
This is one great enjoyable video, cheers!
great job! i noticed that you even changed your video to a cinema aspect ratio for the Dire Straits Tarantino bit. 🤣📽🎞
