When I was younger I wanted to make a youtube channel kind of like this one, but for brass instruments. It's been a few years now. I've recently bought and started playing a new instrument again. A ukulele. I feel like I'm falling in love with music all over again. Then I find this channel, and it's great. I ask my mom if I can have her old guitar, and I ask my sister for her keyboard. They aren't using them so they say yes. I'm learning with books and I'm practicing about an hour a day on uke and maybe 15 minutes each with the other two. A part of me wants to get out my trumpet and start practicing again. Idk if I'll ever start that youtube channel, but I'm glad that the music found me again. For now I'm content to sit alone in my room and jam out while I learn the ropes. Er.... strings.

Hey there, Rob! I'm from Ukraine, and we have an awesome national instrument called 'bandura'. I guess you should try it out sometime, it would be a cool addition to your collection. Love all the guitars man. I started playing years ago when I went in the service and eventually saved up enough money and got lucky enough to find a pre lawsuit ESP explorer and loved that thing with all my heart. Sadly it got destroyed a couple weeks ago when my house burned down. Now it’s time to rebuild again. I doubt I’ll ever find another guitar like that one. It was so special to me. Seeing this passion, seeing all these instruments, seeing those small flashback to the old videos... Rob, you are really inspiring to make music and to have fun with music. That is amazing! Thank you Rob, very cool!
For some reason, 29:26-29:32 cracks me up every time; there’s just something about the sound of a de-tuned sitar that I find hilarious.😂 FYI, the very first time I ever heard the sound of a sitar was the opening riff from “Wherever I May Roam”, off Metallica’s Black album (it’s actually an electric sitar played by Kirk).
I've been watching your channel for the past two hours. I only saw your channel for the first time tonight. I have no idea how I missed it so far. Excellent stuff. Luv and Peace.
That is an awesome collection. There are obviously some quality instruments in there, however it is nice to see someone using instruments from all ends of the pricing spectrum. It just goes to show that you do not need the most expensive instruments to make quality music. Keep up the great work. I wonder how many instruments you will have in ten years time!!!
A varied instrument collection. A talented musician never has too many instruments. I am surprised that you do not have among your instruments a Harp/Guitar.
Listening to your story is so inspirational, especially because each instrument can be thought of as a souvenir from a part of the story. The ending was nicely said, though I’m still excited for the next “special” you’re going to make :D (“Special” ‘cuz if you chose not to make one but continue regular content, still looking forward to it)

Ever since I saw that shovel metal video I've wanted to make one, my friend told me I could cannibalize his old bass for parts, but like that seems uncool since it is still a working bass... If I was gonna make something from salvage parts I wanna make sure it's actually dead, ya know? Then I found the channel again more recently, and I'm glad I did, and I'm definitely happy I subscribed this time.
I love this, and my room is basically starting to look like that. I have a double bass, 4 guitars, a piano, trumpet, french horn, alto sax, and violin. I may not be very good but I'm still learning, some people called me crazy for having all of these and trying to learn them. THANK YOU ROB SCALLON
In all the negativity we forget that we live in a world where those who deserve it get to do this for a living, and this makes life a bit richer all round. +1 towards your 2m here
Well, having Jake (Jake Jarvi, pineapple boy films here on UA-cam, cool dude) there recording frees Rob up to focus on the playing/interviewing/etc., so it doesn't surprise me that Jake being focused on what's going on shot to shot means he retains more of what was in which video.
This video is Rob remembering all the instruments he has yet to make a video on, ideas for videos yet to be made and videos made but not released. I can’t wait to see the content that comes from this stroll through his instruments.
seeing you saying you started by wanting to play bass, and then moving onto electric guitar and seeing how good you are now is super inspirational as someone currently transitioning between bass and electric guitar! now to just get my college classmates to understand that XD

Seeing this passion, seeing all these instruments, seeing those small flashback to the old videos... Rob, you are really inspiring to make music and to have fun with music. That is amazing! Thank you Rob, very cool!
For some reason, 29:26-29:32 cracks me up every time; there’s just something about the sound of a de-tuned sitar that I find hilarious.😂
FYI, the very first time I ever heard the sound of a sitar was the opening riff from “Wherever I May Roam”, off Metallica’s Black album (it’s actually an electric sitar played by Kirk).
Rob: This is my playroom ;)
Girl he has over: Oh yeah? What's in it?
Rob *opens jam and jelly room*: You'll see.
The reason that Schecter rep was yelling in his emails is because he's gone deaf from shredding on Marshall stacks all his life
I've been watching your channel for the past two hours.
This feels like one of those anime episodes where the squad is returning home and the whole episode is just flashbacks
A varied instrument collection. A talented musician never has too many instruments. I am surprised that you do not have among your instruments a Harp/Guitar.
Listening to your story is so inspirational, especially because each instrument can be thought of as a souvenir from a part of the story. The ending was nicely said, though I’m still excited for the next “special” you’re going to make :D
(“Special” ‘cuz if you chose not to make one but continue regular content, still looking forward to it)
Rob: “you don’t need fancy gear, use what you have” Me, saving up for a drum set: 😐
That is ok, you can use some trash cans like Lars did in 2003
Ehrmann Gregsson true. I’m fortunate enough that I’ve save enough to get a relatively cheap set in a few months though.
When I turn 15 I’m gonna save up my money from work to be able to buy a Fender Jaguar
@@nehemiahzo_ could just get a squire affinity jazzmaster, its very similar to the jaguar and way cheaper
Easy for him to say
rob scallon, his first guit... myspace... i have no clue why i clicked this video but it shure did bring back some rly nice nostalgic memories. thanks for eveerything you have provided us over the years. keep it up! ♥
The video when im watching it alone: 12:26
The video when my mom enters my room: 28:06
Rob: ...so this pretty much was my first endorsement...
Me: I usually have coffee in the morning...
Rob: ah yes my fretle-
Me: GOING TO MAKE TEEEAAAAAAAAA
This video is such a nostalgia trip^^
Rob “Master of Every Single Instrument That’s Ever Existed” Scallon
In all the negativity we forget that we live in a world where those who deserve it get to do this for a living, and this makes life a bit richer all round. +1 towards your 2m here
I love the way robs cameraman seems to know about rob and his guitars more than rob knows about himself and his guitars..
You sir are a true inspiration to us all, not only in music, but in personality as well! Never change, you magnificent man!
Crazy funk solo! is my favorite Video about ten years old.☆☆☆☆☆
9:05 when your talking to your girlfriend’s dad
😂😂😂 I'm dead. That's an underrated comment
Dominick Hendricks oh no I killed someone! I’m so sorry
@@jacksonricebreadman240 it's okay. You made me a ghost which is kinda better. No feelings 🙏😁
Dominick Hendricks well that’s good I guess lol
10/10 joke dude
This video is Rob remembering all the instruments he has yet to make a video on, ideas for videos yet to be made and videos made but not released. I can’t wait to see the content that comes from this stroll through his instruments.
Im about to start getting double bass lessons (I’ve played the violin) and that white bass is awesome!
"make music with whatever you have"
Me: I have 4 paper plates and a stick
I have chopsticks
Well now you have a drum kit
"How do I get the Scallon tone?"
"Well, first, buy 300 guitars"
seeing you saying you started by wanting to play bass, and then moving onto electric guitar and seeing how good you are now is super inspirational as someone currently transitioning between bass and electric guitar! now to just get my college classmates to understand that XD
this guy has more guitars than I have cornflakes in my cereal
"what is your favorite instrument?"
Rob: "S H OVE L"
That puple V chapman is the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen
Anyone: How many instruments would u like Rob?
Rob: YES!
You're just flexing on Stevie T
Turtle McTurtleson lmao
Rob should deliberately do something to force a guitdemtion. Like deliberately doing a guifakest video. Stevie's mind would be completely blown.
Rob is a really versatile musician.
i keep forgetting he has a fish eye lens and i look at the fretboards like "OH GOD OH NO"

Rob is such a pure human being
