Zack is one of the greatest I saw him live once in a tribute to Jimi Hendrix along with Kenny Wayne Shepard and others. Zack came up the isle and was standing 10 ft. away from me while playing.
I love the cover Zach Wylde did by Mountain on this song. He shredded the guitar. And if you didn’t know, this is Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist. Also, dime bag Darrell from Pantera was Zack‘s best friend. Welcome to Zack Wyldes world.
Must of us 50's babies heard the Rock Band "Mountain" perform this song on the radio and thought it was Great.......but this version of the song not bad.....and Zakk Wyld playing this song the way he deliver it FIRE!!!!! I think he is one of the Best Guitar players in he Business.....however......see Mountain perform this on their album....long version pretty similar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@zzz7zzz9 Not only is Fred Turner about the only other guy with a killer voice in the same category as Leslie's, but Leslie was a sometime guest for BTO and would sing Mississippi Queen. Zakk been my #1 fav guitarist for 20 years now. I remember seeing him live on Ozzfest with his band Black Label Society AND he was Ozzy's guitarist for years, too. He the badassiest of them all. Yes there's guys with better technique perhaps, but Zakk has a nasty grimy badass style to him that destroy people around him. Fun facts - in the Rock Band World Tour game (the one that added drums and mic and bass to the guitar), you Unlock Zakk as a bandmate towards the end of the tour and his avatar joins and plays with you. So cool. I remember watching American Idol many years ago with my wife- the year James Durbin was on, he came out and did a rock song (don't remember which), and Zakk came out on stage with him, and I nearly fell out of my chair "WTF? THAT ZAKK WYLDE!! LIKE REALLY ZAKK". I remember I sounded like a little kid, but I was so shocked and excited and had no idea.
Welcome the man Mr. Zakk Wylde, he was and is in Ozzy ‘s band for over 20 years, His band is Black Label Soceity…. Dig in y’all!!! P.S. This was a cover song from Mountain, but Zakk also plays the piano amazing and sings so good…!!
I met Zakk at a guitar clinic in DC probably 15 years ago. He’s super down to earth and a very nice and funny guy. In my opinion he’s in the top 5 guitarists currently active. His work with Ozzy and Black Label Society is amazing. He also recently started his own guitar brand called Wylde Audio.
Went to Hooters before going to see Zak and BLS and Zak and the rest of the band were eating at the table next to us. Super cool guy, once he got through eating, he took pictures with anybody who wanted a pic and signed autographs too.
Yall gonna have to give Zakk Wylde more reactions..Black Label Society and when he was a 19 yr old teenager playing for Ozzy Osbourne. 1st album was No Rest for the Wicked No More Tears And the Live and Loud is epic
He played with ozzy , and was In The band “pride and glory “ but he has been doing great in “ Black Label Society “ for awhile . Saw him live right before Covid started and it was my teen daughters favorite show until she went to 5fdp , Three days grace , and Badwolves . We ended 2019 with great shows and are looking forward to seeing live bands again .
I've been following him for a while and I love his stuff. The man can shred. It's interesting here how he gives this cover the Jimi Hendrix treatment only it's like Jimi Hendrix on steroids plus some fusion jazz thrown in. And Zach can certainly tear up Jimi Hendrix like nobody's business that's for sure. But he chooses to use that wah pedal instead of a slide which even reinforces that more. BUT ... this was more or less a beloved iconic old early 70s hard rock song that he just used as a vehicle to showcase his mind-blowing ability. And I think it is also a loving tribute, honestly. And I love how present the piano is and the interplay with the cowbell. If there was one thing I ever lamented about the original it's that I wish that the honky tonk piano had been a bit more in the mix. Still, I can't remember if you guys have covered the original by Mountain? But if not, even if you don't react to it, you totally owe it to yourself to see why he would pay tribute to this legendary song. I have heard many fine covers of it but to this day, I have never ever heard one that packs the same wall of just raw power and character. They always end up sounding a bit anemic in comparison. I think it's just impossible to duplicate. Here it is. It is way way way too short at around 2 minutes long. And if you can catch all the lyrics, it's got a lot of specific references to look how like down around Vicksburg, and so forth, but it's actually a hilarious song. He manages to snag the highly sought-after Cajun Mississippi Queen and he's loving it but then he finds himself working his ass off to buy her all the things she needs to keep herself looking pretty and be a queen, 😃 m.ua-cam.com/video/VbP4qf8PjfI/v-deo.html

After Randy Rhoads and his follow up, Jake E. Lee, Zakk took over in Ozzy Osbourne’s band. An east coast guitar player, he joined at 19 years old from New Jersey. I saw him play downtown here in Manhattan with his side group, Pride and Glory, in the early ‘90s. His chicken-picking style always set him apart from the rest of the guitarists of that period. And don’t forget the singing, as well. I always thought that Randy Rhoads and Jake were better players, but Zakk did an excellent job next to them.
