Frank Marino is one his all time favorites, he had a guitar made for frank and gave it to him on his birthday. Can hear frank all through this. Amazing
I became immediately mesmerized by ZAKK since the beginning of his career. I began taking lessons at 6 years old. I'm also a graduate of Berklee College of music, and the art institute of Dallas. Throughout my entire life, there hasn't been a day that I didn't spend a minimum of 4 hours a day every day practicing. And many years of my life, I spent 6-8 hours a day practicing. I have mastered all of ZAKK'S MUSIC.. INCLUDING HIS 9 minute plus live version of The song " IN THIS RIVER".. , POINT IS, ZAKK WYLDE IS AN INDESCRIBABLY PHENOMENALY SPECIAL MESMERIZING GENIUS GOD OF GUITAR.. LEARNING AND MASTERING HIS MAGIC WASN'T EASY.. JOAN JETT MADE THE TOP GUITARIST LIST OF ALL TIME. THIS IS REDICULOUS. ZAKK'S NAME DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE LIST... THE MAGAZINES THAT PUBLISH THIS LIST IS ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS... ZAKK CLEARLY IS DEFINITELY INE OF THE BEST GUITARIST OF ALL TIME.. ANYONE WHO HAS SEEN HIM PLAY KNOWS THIS... IF THEY DON'T AGREE,THEN THEIR OPINION IS EXTREMELY FLAWED AND IRRELEVANT.ZAKK NEEDS TO BE PRAISED FOR WHAT HE IS...
Pride and Joy is the greatest southern rock album that never gets classified as southern rock because it's so heavy. But, it's southern rock, and some of the best. I think an open minded country artist like yourself would enjoy that album. And his vocals on that album sound like a cross between Ozzy Osbourne and Gregg Allman.
got to see BLACK LABEL SOCIETY for the 1st time just over 2yrs ago in a 1000 seat venue-country locked down 3or 4 days later but i can testify his solos wee sick one of them he left the stage and was going through the crowd shredding the entire time
I attended they're MSG show in NYC in 2007 I believe. I remember his solo being sooooooooo friggin loud and ear piercing. Maybe I'm getting too old but I left that show half deaf. He had about 10 Marshall double stacks behind him and I really do believe they weren't there just for show. He used all of them.
I've seen this probably 100 times and just realized he's playing our national anthem in China and if these ppl did know what it is they probably don't give a shit
You should definitely check out zakk wylde plays lowrider at emg tv, its an improvised lead guitar that zakk plays, his guitar skills are incredible in this video i look forward to seeing your reaction to it.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
If you get a chance to see him perform with BLS or his Sabbath tribute act, Zakk Sabbath, especially if they're headlining, you should as it will be a smaller venue then the larger arenas he plays w/ Ozzy and he likes to roam the audience during his solo(s). Great opportunity to catch him up close! Haven't been fortunate enough to catch him with Ozzy so no idea if he manages to roam the audience during his solos at those shows.
Check out "farm fiddlin" by zakk, being a country artist I think you'd appreciate it. I always think Jerry Reed, Roy Clark when I hear it, lol, naturally it changes before the end though.
I don’t play, but I know killer music. Seen most of them live numerous times over the years. My concert list is stupid ridiculous. Also, John Sykes of BLUE MURDER is really good, Classic Hard Rock. One of my favorite albums. Saw them in a bar at the time (late 80’s). He qualifies, trust me. I like the entire first album, but again, start with the title track. 👍
Dude, I haven't thought of Blue Murder in years. Awesome band! John Sykes is responsible for most of the guitar playing on the Whitesnake album, if I remember correctly.
Jake E. Lee played for OZZY too. He wrote some of his most famous songs which he got very little credit for. The Classic album, Bark at the Moon is the best example. Check out his shredding on the title track. The dude’s Badass! I saw that concert tour! I’m old! Ha Ha! Go for the Official Music Video Version of the song for Maximum OZZYNESS!
One more thing! Ha Ha! I’m remembering more stuff for you. Of Course, another all time classic, Ted Nugent : Stranglehold! It’s actually Derek St.Holmes who is singing and playing. He wrote the song but gets almost zero credit for it. It’s a Classic from the old days alright. I’m picking stuff for you with guitar exclusively in mind. This is fun! More to come, I’m sure. It’s aways fun to find a reactor in the early stages of Rock discovery. It never gets old! Especially when it’s someone who knows what they’re looking at. People that can play like yourself. You are knocking out a serious list so far. I’ll be back! 😁👍
You gotta try Yngwie Malmsteen- Far Beyond the Sun with the New Japan Philharmonic. ua-cam.com/video/Yni9Qu76UyA/v-deo.html He's what's called a Neo-Classical shredder and a modern day metal Beethoven.
@@ChasingAnthems I'm envious. What I wouldn't give to see that performance for the 1st time again. For me that was what linked classical music and metal and it clicked in my brain. Keep an eye out for how many pics he burns though.
Please react to the former UA-camr Tina S. Her rendition of Beethovens moonlight Sonata is amazing. Her cover of Steve Vita’s for the love of god is also superb
Also, I suggest checking out the amazing LAURA LACE.S since we are obviously not recognizing ZAKK'S, INDESCRIBABLY PHENOMENALY POWERFUL AND MESMERIZING GENIUS GOD OF GUITAR THAT HE IS...
Chasing Anthems. You should have stood for the anthem. Millions before you died for the freedom, for you to make youtube videos. Amongst every freedom you have. Many died virgins, never being with a woman. Or old enough to even join & fight in war. But they did so, for you & me. And they died for that. Doesn't have to be for the American flag. But to honor every person. Man and woman. Who died for us to live the way we do. Aside from that. It is a badass solo.
Zakk was kinda cool back when he first started w Ozzy. But, i was never a huge fan. I saw him w/ Ozz and black Label a few times, but I think Jake E. Lee wrote better guitar parts for Ozzy. Jake is a monster of a player. He kinda got a bad rap cause anyone joining Ozzy to replace the late great Randy was going to get rejected by a lot of fans, that seems to be a natural thing w fans. But he also Joined Ozzy at the wrong time in Ozzy's career. The mid 80's, which labels wanted "glam" and Mtv type songs and imaging etc.. But Jakes work on those two Ozzy albums were amazing but his Badlands stuff is still my favorite Jake material. Although some of his Red Dragon stuff is up there with me. Zakk to me is just nonsensical "shredding" when he does his solo spots. I've been playing since the early 80's, and I think Zakk is nowhere near SRV come man. Zakk is all about Emg pickups, Heavy distortions, pinch harmonics and scales.

Right? I was thinking for a country guy, "Cry Me a River" would be the perfect choice.
Cry Me a River and I Hate Your Guts are both country -ish songs on that album
Agreed.
...But it's "Pride & Glory" Not
pride and joy
He also plays piano amazingly well. I really like his singing and his wide variety of songs. I'm totally fascinated.

His solo on Ozzy's "Tomorrow' is simply dazzling.
When I see polka dots I think of RAndy Rhoads. No one else.

Zakk Wylde - Farewell Ballad Remixed and Remastered is my favorite Zakk tune its super short but man is it good
It's saint Randy Rhoads who had the polka dot guitar
I've seen this probably 100 times and just realized he's playing our national anthem in China and if these ppl did know what it is they probably don't give a shit

My favorite Zakk Wylde solo was the one he did in Perry Mason. That whole song slaps but Zakk made it legendary.

THORRR!!
I think this was in Japan, you know they all walked out of that show thinking, what the hell did I just witness.
You need to see his solo from the Moscow Peace Festival in 89...damn son.

@@jhibes9103 All of it, apart from the re-recording of Here I Go Again, which wasn't on the original release, here in the UK anyway
I think Zakk was influenced by John Sykes' playing, particularly the fast pentatonics, the pinch harmonics and the very wide and fast vibrato
You should check out Buckethead. Pike 105 The Montrail part 2 is a good start. Buckethead is so underrated . He's one of best solo guitarest ever.
I love Zakk Wilde but l enjoy listening to his softer and sadder songs. But You should check out his music videos because they are hilarious 😂
Ohhhh Mr Wylde makes that guitar sing......
You need to check out these guitar players..paul gilbert. Ritchie kotzen.. Reb beach . john norum .

Zakk is in the top 1! But I give Tom Scholz a CLOSE second.
You have to react to Tommy Emanuel classical gas .

Hey, cool band name by the way.
the poka dots are a Randy tribute
he is at least AT LEAST to 10

A lot of homage was paid to Randy rhoads including his Eddie tribute
Being impressed by repetitive pentatonics and over use of a wah pedal is FKIN wild 😂😂😂😂 he peaked with Ozzy and never got better or played cleaner
And none can carry Clapton’s guitar case? Really?
I think why would anyone like country? then he basically says "I've never heard Ozzy" and I'm like. There it is.
He does the same songs over and over. The only good songs are on Mafia and No More Tears.
Zakk the Hack? World’s worst guitar player. No feel. Just mindless shredding for shredding’s sake. Lousy tone, too. 🤷🏼♂️

The guy playing the song is very negative and Jimmy hendrix only had 4 albums
