The Tragedy of Helldivers Scariest Traitor is about Helldivers 2, a game built around teamwork, completing the mission at all costs, helping your fellow helldiver, and above all, DEMOCRACY! What happens when some helldivers break their oath, what happens when super earth's number 1 enemy is neither made of binary or green mists of bile? What happens when Helldivers go rogue? Have you heard the tragedy of darth gantz the evil? I thought not, its not a story the super earth ministry of truth would tell you. This is a community story on the traitors of helldivers 2.

But it's not a smart idea to let a traitor into your own midst. So, he loves what treason can do for him, but abhors the kind of person who can betray their kind and expect trust from another.

There was a lot of that in the first Helldivers game. Arrowheads solution in that game was to make team-killers team up with other team-killers.

I think it would be wildly more funnier to add a pvp faction that you can play as and that gets stronger as it's pushed back, that way you add a pvp mode for people who want that, add in a new faction to combat, add in more strategic stuff, etc.

He is but unfortunately, like stated near the end, Gantz has become to Team Killers what LetMeSoloHer was for Elden Ring. Regardless of his innocence they now have a face to rally behind.

game players been running around for 2 decades now with no consequences to their actions, all under the guise of " it's funny " or " it's just a joke ". Now it seems there's finally a game where people have recourse to punish you for being an ass.
in EQ if you were an ass, you got black listed, which you then couldn't get groups....forcing you to reroll, which in turn taught you to not be an ass again in the future. worked well, until WoW broke it.
People like that are what keeps people from playing with strangers. I've had enough bad experiences over the years, I only play with friends. Which is a shame, because this large world is narrowed to me. This whole community working together, and I'm right there with them - but never meeting them on the battlefield or enjoying the game together, so always isolated and set apart

Look yes, I shot my fellow Helldiver. But he was talking treason with saying maybe the bots were right. I as a true super earth citizen and as by the hand book, I dealt with the problem.
Me shooting a derelict hell bomb as I run past, with my friends behind me, diving away swearing at me.
They need to re add the reputation system and allow a lobby setting to filter out bad rep players.
They need to introduce a handcuffing mechanic for traitors and a bounty reward for players with a bounty.. and a nerf to those who get caught in committing treason

I remember that name gunning me down last week. I was getting some metals durning extract. On my way back. R1 K2 died. All there was is a Green G4. The leader in chat was pissed and said D3 (me) drop everything you have on evact. So im not gonna sugarcoat it. UP, RIGHT, DOWN, DOWN, DOWN. I managed to kill him but he killed me with a railgun just after i threw it. We failed. Lost all 10 super samples. It hurt lol.
@iytdominotik Player names as they appear in game, consisting of the username's first letter and their number based on the order they joined in (ex.: A1, B2, C3, D4, H2, C1 and so on)
@iytdominotik I don't think it's censorship, it's just to make communication and battlefield orientation easier. It's simpler to say G4 instead of ex.: Generalbuttgreasethethird
I’d be interested in a mechanic where they incorporate some dissension into the game.
So we respawn as a completely different person every time; I think that could be used to incorporate a “dissenters market” into the game where they give a currency for friendly fire that’s only awarded at the end of an extraction. Think of it like you share a serial number and locker with the guy you replace, and find some stuff when you get back from the mission at your locker with a note like “keep up the good work” and superearth logistics either doesn’t care or tells you to play along while they continue to investigate
You can set the voice to change with every new spawn, so you kinda can
So basically an invader from dark souls, that could work, not narratively but it would be fun.
Imagine having a mission that involves a "rogue" squad, that drops in as the 'bots spoofs or masks Helldiver codes, in an effort to have units fight each other, but a side objective stops that code, and the 2 squads can finish clearing the area. This could be a random encounter for higher level difficulties.

I think they should introduce a system for traitors,like if you team kill a lot you get a chance to join a rouge squad of traitor helldivers. These traitor helldivers would be able to join a squads game and hunt them down as their objective. If the traitor wins and extracts then he gets a lot of loot,if the helldivers kill the traitor then the helldivers get a lot of loot.
I think being invaded by a traitor would be pretty stressful so maybe they would add an option to the mission for no traitors to drop in and hunt you.
Kind of like dying lights night mode. Honestly would be kinda cool to see but unlikely with the devs point on PVP

Love how even someone refusing to play with the community and essentially just griefs makes it into the story of the game in line with the lore.
This has got me thinking, and i think the idea of a rogue element of HellDivers would be an interesting easter egg to have in the game.
I don't know if that idea should be a whole new army,
but it would be interesting if they were bounty-hunter like, having a chance to randomly appear to either kill, or delay the Helldivers.
I love how close this story reminds me of the Horus Heresy from Warhammer, fellow marines turning on each other, only for us to see the two sides of the story and see that there are villains everywhere
I still remember throwing an airstrike behind me, and throwing a reinforcement beacon far ahead of me... They moved their pod to land behind me.
They did this twice... Difficulty 9.... They died both times. Almost did it a third time before getting yelled at by the whole squad, lmao

Imagine, if this eventually gives the developers an idea to start a civil war within the Helldivers, with Gantz being the figurehead for the insurgents against Super Earth. Some in world politics where the rebels want change from "managed democracy", which if you look at definitions and implications, would be reasonable to fight against. Unfortunately for myself, that would be another similarity to my own work as a fictional writer that is too big to overlook (as one smaller similarity is the name of the primary conflict in the game and in my work, the "galactic war"), but it would be very interesting nonetheless.
Please note that Gantz is Innocent as the footage is only among friends. Furthermore, Gantz has joined with forces that fights against traitors that use the Gantz's name in vain.
I've luckily only encountered one genuine teamkiller in helldivers so far.
as a newer player as of writing this I dont have the shield backpack unlocked.
so when I spotted a shield backpack left on the ground I picked it up to try it out.
I was then immediately team killed by incendiary rounds and the guy picked up the backpack (I assume the original owner)
if they had asked for me to give it back I would have, but instead got instantly gunned down.
I didnt retaliate and just finished the mission, blocking the account
We might have had the same asshole encounter.....or something similar. All 3 of my teammates were in their mechs so I picked up the spare sheild pack that was being unused while we defended extract. The instant I picked it up, asshole host killed me. He was in his mech and was too low a lvl to even want it. Kept killing me over and over, while his teammates kept respawning me. Then kicked me immediately after the extraction. I don't even understand why he got so pissed, him and his buddies were in their FUCKING mechs and I didnt have mine so I needed the extra protection and none of them went for it. Assholes man. There's always a few
Guys i think u need to watch the whole video before commenting.. evan clearly state that garnt indeed was messing around with friend.. so he knew he was innocent, thats why this video is called a tragedy.. because some of us goes too far in the game and forget that this is just a game... for those who wanted to be garnt and become famous for team kill please dont.. we already have too many toxic player base game in the world.. just go play those game instead.. stay awesome hell diver and fight for manage democracy

Gantzthedemon was actually an innocent, managed democratic, loyal Helldiver like all of us. The guy who posted the tiktok of Gantz killing the guy was after the guy that was killed team-wiped his own squad, Gantzthedemon was simply killing the traitor, since his Democracy Officer was not there and the traitor was being aggressive. The reason no other kills were shown in the clip is because the dude who posted the tiktok killed them, but not before one could call in the reinforcement of Gantz, the last reinforcement before the budget ran out. "Then why didn't the guy who posted try to kill Gantz?" It's because he didn't want to be seen as a traitor, and framed Gantz. But don't target the guy who posted it or Gantz, depending on who you believe. I'm sure both of them are nice guys in real life.
Don't hurt the person themselves but the whole roleplay in the game is hilarious and I love it
You know it does seem that there is enough room on the map for 2 more fronts... The blue lighty dudes and maybe "Gantz's Traitor Army"
What if at some point, the devs implement a mechanic that gives the illusion of teammates looking like the enemy. Even so far as to have a bot copy of your teammate running around shooting. Like an exact copy, same armor guns ect. So obviously you wouldn't think you are TKing. But it was mind manipulation... or if there were opinional side missions of treason. Like you can get 100 SC if you plant bugs/ sabotage a mission. But it would have to be done so a team could call out the saboteur and have them taken for treason if they are found out. And to preemptively stop everyone from calling out a traitor right away, you would be penalized if you accuse an innocent Diver. The saboteur could have mission exclusive shadowed statigems like giving away your position or calling in a dropship to your location. Only the best players would be able to pull this off without looking super suspicious. And it wouldn't help to go Gantz on your team. 😂 Just love posting these fun hypotheticals.

One of my favorit things, is when you're just opening up a friggin machine gun or somethin, and a teammate decides to run directly into the spray of lead, and then bitch at YOU like him running into your fire was YOUR fault. That shit cracks me up.
Something that confuses me from the reason of team killing, don’t sample share between everyone, meaning if I get 5 samples, my teammates get 5 samples each?
a mode where a lone rogue helldiver infiltrates and has to be eliminated would be neat, like a seperate que similar to how resident evil does it with their monsters

To be fair if anyone intentionally team kills or kicks people before evac they deserve to get banned, especially if it’s not just joking with friends.

I literally was having this sort of shit happen last night. A Guy had an SOS up and was killing his teammates for their gear and then kicking them from the mission, only to do it again to other people. I forget the numbers but it literally started with banana, there are bad eggs and when ya find them in helldivers, they truly are traitors.

If there’s anything you can count on it’s an enemy to shoot you in the front but only the most nefarious enemy of all can shoot you in the back and that’s the Traitor!
I’m a big part of the Helldivers 2 Facebook group and love the roleplaying of finding the traitors and putting out bounties for them. THAT BEING SAID, I agree 100% that it needs to stay in the game. No doxing. No real-life harassment. No trying to actually hurt the real players. That’s going beyond rp and taking things too far.
Would be dope if gantz gets immortalised in Helldivers if we get rouge Helldivers as an enemy force (not players just strong AI in missions) having a squad of them called the demonz

When I first played with friends the bugs showed up behind me and when I turned around I intended to shoot the bugs but my friend was behind me and I accidentally shot him in the back of the head all he said was "welp, friendly fire out of the gate huh" then started laughing I felt so bad lol he won't let me forget it for a good while lol
