    I have a 2018 M70 retro in metallic brown. I bought ist last Summer as my first Ural. Kept running it through the whole winter while my car is slowly collecting rust. Whenever possible, my wife and my parent's dog hop in and we go for a short hiking trip somewhere in the vicinity. To me, it's the best thing I've ever bought. 😄

      We love ours, my wife took hers to Macon GA this morning, she'll put 100+ miles on it today alone, without me. She actually rides more than I do as she does all the errands and grocery shopping on it. She has a trailer too, uses it for groceries as well. Glad you joined the club. On the Retro (since you can't get them any more) consider the Gen2 EFI Upgrade. It has been well worth it for me on my Retro.

    Thanks for sharing. Nice rig. I have a 2017 M-70 along with two BMW bikes, a 1995 R100R and a 2018 R1200RT. I enjoy all three for different reasons. I bought the M-70 new and have had three warranty issues, the fuel pump, the speedometer and the rear brake light actuator. Runs great and I take the Ural whenever I take my dog. He thoroughly enjoys it. I look forward to seeing how Sigmund continues to perform. Cheers, Larry from Cape Cod

    A second-hand Ural can be picked up very reasonably with almost no miles on it because either you like it or you don't and the people who like it put lots of miles on their bikes and the people who don't shower to somebody who will enjoy it and enjoy the fact they did not have to pay the depreciation on a brand new bike I bought my bike for 4,000 dollars and it had six thousand original miles on it I've had the bike seven years and I have over 40,000 miles on it very reliable nice and cool running I can't believe all of the warranty issues people have with the newer bikes especially with all the electronics the older bikes are much more reliable and much easier to service then the new ones especially if you do the work yourself used bikes don't last on the market very long before somebody snapped them up people always ask me why I don't take my dog for a ride in my sidecar and I tell them because she is busy guarding my little house in cracktown

    Enjoyable video. Don 't think I could handle the heat down in GA though. I start feeling uncomfortable when it's over 75. Rode today, it was 55 degrees here in MA, which for me is about perfect. As I used to say, "Three below and three feet of snow," without winter I don't think I could make it through the year. Oh, but I DO like your boiled peanuts! I find them sometimes in the Indian markets here and boil them up myself. Mmm Mmm good!

      Have them clear and re-flash the ECU's. Since mine was done I have to admit, the only few stumbles so far have been when it was cold. Once warmed up, it has run consistently better than it originally did.

    Hello from Germany. Nice Video of your M70 retro. I own an ural retro (carburated version) since 2013, no major issues so far.
    The only problem is that there is absolutely no comfort for the rider. The suspension is really hard (reminds me to a rigid frame). My backbone is absolutely scrap (i got a surgery on it a few weeks ago), so i have to check the possibility to change the seat into a "spring-loaded" version or something similar. Otherwise the ural has to go

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  4 роки тому +2

      I agree. I made a custom bracket, used two coil springs and put on a Harley solo seat. No way I could ride it with the original tractor seat.

      @@GoneUraling thank you for your reply.
      This will be the solution i have to choose as well; to create something on my own. Furthermore i will try to move the new seat approx 3 to 4 inches to the back to achieve a better riding position. I am 6' 2" (for metric people: 1,88 m), so the knee angle is not very nice for longer distances.

    Hey guys! love your Videos. :-) I have a 2017 cT (just under 1000k right now). Question, Where did you get the Spare tire holder and Wheel assembly? I'm guessing you used the Gear-up parts (as they should fit supposedly) or got it from Blue Moon. Blue Moon warranty work is by appointment only according to their site. They are about a 3.5 hour drive from me (that's driving slab the entire way). My other option is Heindl Engineering in OH.

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  5 років тому

      I called Gene at Holopaw and told him I needed a spare tire mount with universal blacked out spare wheel and K28 tire mounted for the 2017 cT. Then I read a bunch of digits off a card for him and it showed up a few days later. Then, my wife started reading some pieces of paper a few weeks later and seemed a bit perturbed until i told her that was her Christmas present! What kind of warranty work do you need? PM or email me or find me on Facebook (GoneUraling) or get in touch with me. You can call me and chat.

    I know what you mean about therapy. I take my golden retriever Sophie. She loves it and in turn makes me love taking her. I’ve got 3500 miles on my 2018 gear up and no problems other than the rear tire is worn out. I took your advise on going with the Heidenau K-28. Should I expect issues on my rear brake??

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  5 років тому

      Ride safe and enjoy! My K28 tires are giving me more than 5000 miles on the pusher. If you are getting less, check the alignment. My rear brake issues were dealer induced, they routed the rear brake line across the tire, chewed it up before I made it 5 miles down the road. Also discovered the rear brake bracket was not drilled properly (factory issue) and Ural didn't have the parts to send. They just got the parts to repair it in late January. Meanwhile, being the stubborn cuss I am I bought a brake line and adjusted the bracket myself so I could ride until new parts finally did arrive.

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  2 роки тому +1

      The M70 and the Retro have the telescopic forks standard. They stopped making them in 2018. In the U.S. we can only get the leading link forks since 2019. Outside the U.S. I believe they offer a "Ranger" model that has the telescopic forks but it has the standard (not M70) frame.

    I’ve got a 2018 retro with only 500 miles and have the hesitation thing when cold. Is it a sensor that fixed yours? Fuel sensor?

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  5 років тому

      Cold hesitation is not technically fixed, if I crank it and take off, I will have about 30 seconds of "I ain't a going" and then another 3 or 4 minutes of "I don't wanna be going" before the engine settles down. Once it does though, virtually all of the other issues are gone. Very occasionally I get a small hiccup when running, maybe twice since the fix. But overall, it's running great. I was told by someone else if you disconnect the 02 sensors, it will likely run great 15 seconds after starting and do well. I tried the warranty fix first, and that worked. As to what they did, he says he Cleared the ECUs and re-flashed both of them to the off-road code despite the fact both reported it was already the off-road code. Whatever it did, it seems to have worked.

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  5 років тому +1

      It actually comes that way on the M70 (now discontinued as of 2018). It is a great addition. I suspect they do not put them on the GearUp or cT as if you were off roading (what those bikes are supposedly sold to do) it could get hung up on stuff. But from my observations, most of these bikes actually do very little true off roading. I'm up front honest, no desire to off road, don't even care for a dirt road.
