Thanks for the comment. We were using our truck to do all our bat house workshops many of which are day trips or only overnight for a single workshop. My Wife said one day "We need to ride our motorcycles to do our workshops" So with 10 or 15 kits we could fit everything in both motorcycles and take a long weekend. But, with 5 workshops on a week long trip down the coast, there was just no way to haul 50 bat house kits on the motorcycles. She decided we could ship 20 to a trusted location in St Marys and haul the rest. Gotta love her, she rides more than I do!

Hallo ,eerst groetjes vanuit Nederland.
via Google translate I think I understand. I pulled the trailer over about 15 cm to make sure the wheel on the trailer was behind the rig and not out to the side. She says she does not notice any side torque when starting or stopping. She mainly complained that with 450 lbs (200 kg) it was more sluggish to start and stop and made bumps harsher for her. At a total of 350 lbs (158 kg) it pulled and stopped better and didn't beat her up as bad. To be honest, the harshness could be more about the suspension of the trailer than only the weight. Thanks for watching! I hope maybe one day we might cross the pond and visit Europe on 3 wheels.
The 36 hour parking may be because people like to backpack camp on Cumberland Island. So I guess that gives them time to go over spend the night and return. I would think the problem is not pulling a 450 pound trailer, but stopping it. I was thinking about getting a ural in 2013 but the dealers are too far away and that was before EFI came out. Still think about one though. Oddly poor color choices was one of the reasons I decided not to get one (the gray or blue did not do it for me.) But the Ural is cool a street legal ATV. At least the Gear Up.
Yeah, I was being funny... as if you MUST park for 36 hours before leaving. No trouble stopping it, one thing the 2014+ Urals have are good brakes. Check them out now, plenty of new colors!
Woolie Boogers! also, if you need someone to gawk at your Ural with the wife shaking her head no, come drive through S.E. Kansas... I may have softened her up with the business vehicle discussion last week :D

As for the trailer lights, is it like the "aztek" style or is it just an LED bulb? In my Jeep TJ, I just painted the inside of my tail light buckets with a Spaz Stix Chrome paint. Really helped with reflecting all the light off the black plastic. That was other wise just absorbing the light. Next step is a full LED conversion.
Not sure what you mean by "aztek". They are regular bulbs in what looks to be a custom molded (i.e. not off the shelf) tail light that fits into the molded body of the trailer. I have treated the inside with chrome paint as well and that did help a little. The real issue is the lenses are not letting light through. As I can't find replacement lenses and these are all I have, I'm hesitant to try and clean them with anything too aggressive in case they melted or got worse.
@@GoneUraling The "aztek" lights are the ones that look like the ones you see on "ricers" back in the '00's. Bunch of individual LEDS with individual reflectors, instead on just one bulb. Pulling the heads is fairly straight forward. I would send you to a wealth of information on sovietsteeds.com to research it. I use 20W50 full synthetic motorcycle oil and add 3 oz of Archoil AR9100 and change it every 4000 miles with the deep sump. With the regular sump I would stick to the 3000 mile interval.
Selling dealer makes the experience, one that is setup right is a dream, one setup wrong can be a nightmare. From there, it is maintenance. I don't know if I would get on one blind from a random seller without knowing the history and maintenance practices for a 4+ hour ride. I would likely take it somewhere and check everything myself or if a good dealer was close enough, go have it serviced before setting off. "Maintenance" is much more than an oil change, it includes KNOWING all the bolts are torqued, the oil has been changed correctly with the correct grades, the splines are greased, the ujoints are greased, the valve lash is set correctly, nothing is making "wrong" sounds etc... I'm not saying don't do it, just don't do it completely blind.

Thanks for the comment! In Georgia, they have a 3 wheeler course that is wider with slightly different requirements. But, my DMV office did not know anything and put me on the 2 wheel course. First she asked me to disconnect the sidecar, that was a 10 minute conversation and a supervisor call out. Next, because the course was too narrow I hopped the sidecar over a few cones, paused for another 10 minutes to try and determine if that was a legal thing to do. Long story short, I did everything required but did not have enough room for the "up to speed then emergency stop" test. She finally let me have an extra 20 feet to get a run up. Finally, we went inside and presented the test results, the lady looked up in all seriousness and asked the instructor "why didn't you put him on the 3 wheeler course?" But, I passed.

I was taking it to get weighed so I could get a license plate. Even showed up on his computer when I had it registered in my name before I gave it to my buddy who gave it back to me.
Wouldn't have paid. I appealed a wrongful "passing on a double yellow line" ticket as I was passing a tractor going 4 mph. I know it is perfectly legal to pass an obstacle in the road even on double yellow line after yielding and making sure no traffic is oncoming. I found the precedent in Georgia law as well where a guy passed a combine on double yellow lines, an accident resulted (combines fault) and they tried to ticket and blame this guy. Jury found him not guilty and further clarified that "an obstacle need not be stationery" in order to pass it. Judge ruled against me. But, when I said I was going to file an appeal, his attitude changed. It was a LONG time ago, I was like 18yo at the time. Turns out, there were other people that got a ticket from the same cop for passing the same tractor. I asked them in open court if they'd like to join my appeal. Judge was NOT pleased because he failed to teach an arrogant teenager a lesson and instead got a lesson himself. Anyway, happy riding!
