I just bought one of these bikes. It is a 2012 retro with 17,000Kl. I have heard people say that they had to replace the clutch at 20,000Kl. Is that normal or have they been riding the clutch?
I actually do enjoy the maintenance... but this was frustratingly unexpected and what I found when I finally opened the FD it was all avoidable. Somebody has to have known what they did when that FD was built.
@@GoneUraling Curious to see what you find. Stripped threads means a helicoil. Maybe the stud is just stretching and can be replaced with a new one. I shall anxiously await your next video!
You can always borrow one of mine if you need to...and I have a spare top engine mount when yours breaks - Ural says they never break - have a broken one right in front of me... ...and he couldn't borrow one of mine because at the time, someone else was already using it...and I was on the 2011...that I just ride and don't work on that often - anymore. It is all well, well lapped in...and since it has a spare FD, this would never happen... That's right, buy a spare part for a Ural and you can almost guarantee that part will never fail ever again...that's why I have 2 Retros...😎 Need to get a 2nd Sportsman, it's broken (carb, again)...
Yep, ride one keep one for a spare. The Retro has done well, the cT has done well, they only time I get frustrated is when I find things that I know somebody knew about and did it anyway. Should be going on a short ride today. FD has been doing great since the rebuild and the Bullet Brake is working too.
Ural is so stupid with his policy of not making parts for older bikes I no longer can get throttle cables either so foolish considering how many of the older bikes that they built compared to so few of the newer ones that they build now.
I have a bullit brake system on my Ural ct works great!
That's good to hear. Mine is doing great so far, been using it even when I don't need it just to make sure it is reliable.

did you get the recall on the rims? if so what did you decide to do.
Yes, I'm already in line and waiting on rims. The dealer will be replacing all the rims.
👍👍
Yikes. At least it is fun working on them!
