    Another great video! I recently replaced my Givi screen with the Ural Touring screen (clear) and have been happy with it. I had a little Puig deflector screen that I took off off the Givi and put on the new screen. It is adjusted like the one on your wife’s bike (low). I found that made a big difference as well as looking cool. One problem that I had with mine is that the pinch bolts would loosen every time I rode. I finally took them out and used some locktite on them which has solved the problem. I call the bouncing of the windscreen dancing... you need to have room between the light and the screen to allow for the dancing. Thanks for the video - always look forward for them!
    Another thing that I found was plastic brackets used for adjustment would wear into the screen and create a white plastic powder. I fixed that by taking it apart and fitting some adhesive film that I had to it, and problem solved.

      I will remember the adhesive film trick. Glad to know it stands up to long term riding.

    Some super glue placed at the base of those arms on the National Cycle Plexifaring 3 will also hold the bar arms in place ---when dry Nothing will get them to move.....I have used Plexifaring 3's for over 20 years on many bikes ---it works !

    Glad to see a new video! I bought a small givi for mine when I first got the GU. I rode about a week with it trying to find the sweet spot. I gave up and ride without since. Just couldn't get it to stop shaking the crap out of my helmet / brain. I'm going to get the deflector and give this thing another try.
    We've still been riding ours on day trips lately. Back roads only! One tank trips. ~100 - 120 miles or so. Better than doing nothing but maintenance!
    Thanks for another practical solutions video! Be safe

      I increased (reduced)... let's say "stood up straighter" my windscreen and rode today. Big improvement on the buffeting. Happy riding!

    oooooo fancy, one of these days, when it is safe again, will come up and see it in person...sigh...as you know, on my Retro has the same plexi fairing, zero problems, been there 10 years...can't say it worked as well on my former M70 nor Gear Up. On Sportsman? NO issue. go figure.

      Where do you think I got the idea for the Plexifairing in the first place! I will still use it, put it on in the winter months, but I'm growing to love the smaller windscreen in the heat.

    Great to see some new videos. How tall are you? I’m 5’11. Wondering if the IMZ split screen will help with buffeting on my Tourist.

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  4 роки тому

      I used to be a tad over 5'10". After back surgery and age, let's say 5' 9" is more realistic. I've been riding more... I do not like the small windscreen on long trips I just fatigue of all the extra wind pressure on me... but for running around when it is hot, it's great, much preferred over the large one. When it is cold, however, on goes the large windscreen.

    I had Not seen that particular windshield, and didn’t see it hitting the link above for Hindel in Ohio either,
    I have the one Ural sold for these in December of 2016 that I got from Ural of New England, it’s always worked fine though very short as you say, and I use “ pipe insulation foam” in the gap on the bottom by the headlight, it also has always worked fine... ✅. Now on my Harley’s I have always used the taller windshields that protect your eyes 👀 without wearing the full helmet ⛑ and go down a bit beside the forks 😎👍

      @GoneUraling  3 роки тому

      It's fairly new, you may have to give them a call. But it works great, got one for my wife's rig too, but now it's time to swap back and run with the big screens in the cold.

    Great video! I just installed the touring windscreen on my GU today and the buffeting is terrible. Did you have any luck solving that?

    • @GoneUraling
      @GoneUraling  3 роки тому

      I increased the angle (raised it up more) and most of the buffeting up to 50mph is gone, after that the bubble gets pushed down and it increases. I have not had a chance to add the spoiler to the top yet as I switched back to my winter windscreen. I should be back to my summer windscreen by the end of April and I though I'd give it another try.

      Search for "Kemimoto 7/8" Handlebar Risers 30mm Height for Kawasaki KLR650" That is what I installed on my Retro and I know a friend that installed them on his 2019 Gear UP. They are not a perfect match up, but they do well enough and have been solid for 12,000+ miles.
