New Brake Pad & Rotor Kit from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1APBS00540
This video shows you how to install new, quality TRQ brake pads and rotors on your 2003-2011 Mercury Grand Marquis. Brake pads wear out over time, much like tires, and need replacing, on average, every 50,000 miles, with variations depending on driving habits and environment. Brake rotors may also need to be replaced if they are warped or grooved. Often, it’s safer and more cost effective to replace pads and rotors at the same time. Squealing or grinding noises, or wheel vibration are all symptoms of worn brakes.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
2003 Mercury Grand Marquis
2004 Mercury Grand Marquis
2005 Mercury Grand Marquis
2006 Mercury Grand Marquis
2007 Mercury Grand Marquis
2008 Mercury Grand Marquis
2009 Mercury Grand Marquis
2010 Mercury Grand Marquis
2011 Mercury Grand Marquis

Bro-Tip: After cleaning up the caliper and bracket, and installing the clips, test-fit the pads and make sure they slide freely before you install the hardware on the car.
That is exactly how it should be done, but we all know that your local shops are gonna slap it back together unless they see a problem
Finished, thanks I appreciate this video a lot
Old guy at the place I go for coffee in town said he wouldn't change brake pads until they were past the wear bar. I just did anyway. 20 minute job for the front. I've never seen brake fluid coming out of the master cylinder top when I back the caliper pistons off. I have now. I had to look and see if my Dot 3 would work. It does. Old guy told me the other day his 06 Crown Vic had a lot bigger engine than a 4.6. He wasn't sure what it was but it wasn't the 4.6 (that everyone else has). One day he says one thing. Next day it's something different if not the opposite. He's either been a salesman his whole life and didn't tell the truth if it was going to cost him or his memory is gone. IDK but he's trying to help so I'll let it go. He doesn't realize I've actually worked on things for 35 years rather than just taking it in.
Man thank you for this video literally about to do this today 🙏🙏🙏😩
Great video! Any problem with useing wheel bearing grease in place of caliper lub?
TRQ! Hopefully you see this! I appreciate these! I’m changing out everything in my 2003 Mercury! It’s paid off and I could probably get another 10 years out of it! Could you possibly do a transmission oil change? Or any advice on it!?
+Alex Chenowith We do not have a video for this repair right now, but we'll keep this request in mind for a future video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Are these a lot different than the 01 rotors and pads?
