Akebono brakes are made in five different countries (including the U.S.A. and China), but Duralast is headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee. I'm leaning towards the Duralast Gold because of that fact.
I always buy top line parts especially for the front brakes. Last time used Akebono pads and don't think I'll ever use anything else from now on. Worth the extra $20.
Scotty is right as always. No need to replace the original part with a cheaper after market. Keep all the original parts specially for a car with manual transmission.

That tiny screw is not necessary. It's mainly used to hold the rotor on during assembly in the factory. I changed the rear rotors and brake pads on both sides, but the left side squeaks when I lightly step on my brakes. I am not sure if you have a solution for it.
Yep those locks are useless. If a thief really wants em they will still get it off. I always cringe when I see someone turning a rotor jn a modern car. Most cars you can buy rotors for $50/ea. Instead of paying ½hour labor for them to be machined (which will be $60-70 anyway) may as well get new ones. As scotty eluded to, when you turn them and they get thinner, they're more susceptible to warping as there's less volume of metal to dissipate heat. Don't waste money turning rotors.

Does anyone still turn rotors? I used to have good luck if they were still in spec.
Waste of money to change rotors, unless beyond repair.
@@TeddyRumble New pads and rotors means the pads seat properly instantly.
@@MackMoore-q2n i gave up turning rotors to get them flat. New rotors and pads at the same time means instant pad seating.
@@MrPoppyDuck just never had a problem.
Thanks.JInli brake pads also very good.

Scotty loves wheel locks and beauty covers. 😆
Up here in rhode island its freezing up here the last couple days, even with all the hot air being blown around about the broken bridge that all of a sudden is going to fall into the bay
It’s been so windy too
I changed the rear rotors and brake pads on both sides, but the left side squeaks when I lightly step on my brakes. I am not sure if you have a solution for it.
Sand down the corners of the brake pads just a little and it might go away
@@FriedGreenCarrots I will give it a try
so which brake pads should i buy
Yep those locks are useless. If a thief really wants em they will still get it off. I always cringe when I see someone turning a rotor jn a modern car. Most cars you can buy rotors for $50/ea. Instead of paying ½hour labor for them to be machined (which will be $60-70 anyway) may as well get new ones. As scotty eluded to, when you turn them and they get thinner, they're more susceptible to warping as there's less volume of metal to dissipate heat. Don't waste money turning rotors.
