What does it do that's going to change long range forever? It's just another 10" with a goofy body shell like everyone is currently making. What's the standout game changer I'm missing?
Not really. Just making it light as possible is not the solution. First we did FEM analysis to find the optimum between weight and stability as you want some weight when you long range. The way the arms are designed we could tackle vibrations better and therefore we can tune the drone differently. The drone the way it is now has a power to weight ratio of over 7 which is a lot for this size. You can basically fly 17 min with a Lipo of 5000 and with Liion mich longer. 7 inch carrying 4500 is just not efficient as the battery is too heavy.
The AOS was designed with the same method as have others. Optimized frame and vibration geometry isn't a new gamechanger. 15 minute flight isn't very impressive either on a craft this size. That's actually fairly low in reality compared to what others can achieve. It's a slick looking setup but the marketing side seems like lots of BS.
@@highlandcrawler come on, give some credit. Compared to Chris Rosser, people like Elis, Steele and Evan Turner design and test fly the shuut out of their designs before releasing. Helion has the issue of core overheating quickly, especially when used in tropical countries like Indonesia and used for exploring beaches, when slow cruise the core temperature FC/ESC immediately increases due to circulation not being optimal due to the casing being tightly closed, will there be an upgrade from iflight?
I have been flying 3 years with 7 inch drones and I can guarantee you this is a different league and you have lower cruising speed and efficiency, this is just a fact :). It it also very cheap for what you get but I can also explain you how much it costs to develop a drone, you would be suprised of the costs. The desing looks really good and sturdy, but one question remains. How does this compare to something like İflight xl10 ? Why should fpv pilots switch from standard 10 inch drones to this experimental drone ?
There was a need for a cinematic 10 inch long range drone and the XL10 has analag and was more built for casual pilots. This is built for cinematic filming (compare to the other one which has true X and therfore props in view) and because we have been doing long range for a while we basicually tried to solve all the challenges we have. You need to fly it and you will see why it is so powerful. This is a standard 10 inch drone btw, we just did a lot of testing and analysis to make it fly well.

all that rigidity and footage still have jello...is there no way to get rid of it? dampening cams better? i would love to fly 10" but it must be perfect.
There is jellow in the gorge shot but that was becuse there was 100km/h wind. Lot of these shot are in norway where the wind is so strong, sometimes you get jellow, but a good tuned drone and the right drone helps a lot. Also setting on action cam. I doubt there is a better 10 LR inch drone, the development took 9months for a reason 😇✌️
@@EllisvanJason cheers ellis, yes i was following that close here in china. i always wanted to fly more than 7. i made several anti jello mounts. i am confident that i found the solution. but seeing other quad videos all over the market i feel 99% of people slap NDs on and call it a day. such an aweomse product... and i was yelling at my screen here that there is still jello in several shots. 😝🤙🏼 wouldnt it be nice to stick any action camera on without ND and have zero jello? how can i reach out to you guys?
I guess on this copter you have to avoid low RPM DIVES to prevent Jello? Most dives here are cut so short and mostly in full speed, so I guess there is a lot of footage that had to be cut away not to show jello, right? I can't imagine that this one is so well tuned that the massive props don't induce huge vibrations on RPM changes...
Hey man great vid! I just got my Helion 10 and i have a ton of jello at certain throttle. Can you tell me a little more about the battery mounting and do you have a better PID tune?? plz help thx!
I guess you mean the canopy/shell. Well yes same like with a car, even the action cam is the worst from aero perspective but this is something we cannot change, so we have to design around. But we also have some air intake in the front of the shell for good cooling. It will also secure the inside.
I was a little disappointed with the Chimera's dive recovery and wind resistance while flying in Norway, so might jump on this one - but not before there's an official iFlight dump for BF 4.5.
oh, really? We are now back in 2011 sizes, with better props and better frames. size and kv are the same, weight is 50% more to eliminate design mistakes on the struts. compare it to a V1 frame from Chris Rosser and you know that this design ist just made different to not copy his almost perfect strut design. if you dont need a lot of filtering, good luck for you. this is going totally in the wrong way using strut designs.
Well we actually improved the truss 😏 and used FEM tool and other analytics methods to find the optimum. If you look at our startruss and centurion and afterburner you see how we did it. This deadcat A frame has nothing to do with rosser as truss you can find on every crane, bridge, etc. We also upload all our logs and data so people see that we dont bullsh***. The weight is there on purpose as it needs to be heavier to handle wind better plus to have less vibrations on such big motors & props. 10 inch is a big difference as your lower motor band is in a area where it is harder to tune, much harder than 7 inch drones 🤓
@@EllisvanJason i understand why and how you did it, it just say the angle from front A-truss ist too narrow to benefit from a second truss enough compared to the weight addition. you will need just a bit more filters for that narrow angle. any additional trust should be a angle divider from former structure. if this is the result of a FEM tool, i would try another one. it just looks not wide enough compared to balanced truss structures.
