Fantastic review man! Love the intro as well, thought I was watching the wrong video for a second 🤣. Can't wait to visit your beautiful country one day.
Thanks for the great info. Loved that you talked through some details. I have a big trip planned in 18 months to Chile and want to learn to fly one of these rigs. This looks like the one to go with.
Thanks for the review, it was very informative - especially of the intention of iflight and 2RAW with this quad. I hope they provided you with pointers and are paying you well for it - if at all. The Helion 10 has the most inconvenient design I have seen on a Long-range quad by iFlight and 2RAW: I personally own 4 Chimera 7 Pros and Pro V2s so I'm not bashing iFlight and 2RAW here. 1. The VTX antenna placement is questionable: I have the feeling if you fly further and higher video connection may be lost as you fly away from home. The body of the quad and the tilt angle may hide the antennas. Could you please do a range test of at least 8km from home at an altitude of at least 1.5Km? 2. Bottom mounting of 1kg battery changes the quad's centre of gravity and can cause a pendulum effect as you recover from left and right rolls. What is your experience so far? 3. Also the practice of landing on your battery with frozen fingers poses the risk of lipo fire if the battery is punctured by sharp rocks due to landing impact. I can see you had the same worry and added that landing gear. how heavy is your landing gear? :-) 4. In that massive case, the O3 air unit is likely to cook big time in summer due to poor ventilation. (Is there any ventilation mechanism on the Helion you didn't showcase in your review?) I know this because at the height of the summer, the O3 AU in the Chimera 7 pro V2 used to give overheating warning if you go below 50kph. About the stated advantages of the Helion 10 over the Chimera 7. 1. wind resistance on the Helion does not seem to be better than on the Chimera 7 quad line judging from your goggles footage. Because the Helion is a 10 inch quad it has more volume, thus providing more surface area for the wind to act upon. When it comes to wind, aerodynamic design trumps weight. Probably just for fun: you could compare the two in the same conditions with the same payload to see which quad comes out on top. 2. The quality of dive recovery is also influenced by the type of props in use, the battery strength and skill of the pilot. The Chimera 7 pro line has no inherent dive recovery issues even when using a battery over 1kg from a free-fall dive of 2000m. 3. As for motor efficiency and power: I assume it's 900 KV vs 1250 KV, this is an either-or decision: you cannot have both power and efficiency when it comes down to these two. Yes the Helion 10 is a beast but I'm not sure yet what type of beast it is. Please excuse my tone if it's off, I had a lot of questions with little to no time to express them properly.
Dude! I’m happy you pointed out most of my ideas for the next video and I have made a not with all few of your questions and I will put the others on in as well. I think it will be easier to show and talk about them on a video. Should be out before the holidays 😂
air is air plenty of ventrifical air force to not cook 03 flying at over 15mph in summer. When u ball up on physics and reality u know. and antenna's weighing merely grams even with leveraged weight affect are not affecting roll any on a mfn 10in prop x4 gyro-force of roll or pitch or yaw lol. You sounded cute though trying to explain physics. U must be one who believes in the moon landing?
@@babang_des Babang, Thanks: A comparison video would go a long way, that would be great. For me, the flight efficiency is probably the only problem I couldn't out-mod without incurring a huge bill. The idea of xing2s 3110 @900KV accompanied by 10 inch Props, makes a solid argument for efficiency. However I'm wondering what the extra weight of the Helion 10 will do to the gained flight efficiency. I'm also still not convinced by their decision to force bottom mounting 1kg batteries worth hundreds of dollars. Apart from killing the battery as you land on it in rough remote locations, bottom mounting offers only the battery surface (however big or small it is) to balance land the whole quad. The smaller battery landing surface on Helion 10 will likely make the quad unbalanced and tip over more often during landing in less ideal conditions and damage the also expensive props. What’s your experience with landing the Helion 10 so far?
I do agree in some point with you! The bottom mounting isn’t or wasn’t my thing. I only did bottom mounting for cinelifter and I wanted a drone with the same XT90 so I can use the same cinelifter battery. In fact I have added the 4500mah on the chimera 7 and I changed the xt60 to XT90 but the top plate was too short and I only have one GoPro angle option up to 20dgre. I will argue that the top shell give you more aerodynamic control and cut easier in the wind. I have now been using the bottom mount for a moth now and I can tell u that it grew on me landing becoming more and important and you have to actually land but not drop on the battery. The engine size is actually 3110 I think since the kv is 900kv.
the vtx signal definitely is weaker compared to Chimera 7 pro v2 with triumph pro long range vtx antenna (i say little difference compared to the stock). 6000mah battery is enough to give you like 20 min of flying so it is quite 'ok' but the most important issue is the vtx signal... it is definitely weak even compared with my flywoo explorer lr with a single antenna vista...
Know I'm late, I watch a million of these and you stand out enjoyable to watch and informative while coming across more as a fellow friend in the hobby than a paid company man. Obv great footage too, nobviously a skilled fpver. Subbed and thankful

I'm trying to find a long-range 10" for some arial shots and dives, and I keep landing on Helion. Are you still super impressed with it after this time of using it?
Yes, absolutely! The only thing is make sure you tight all the screws and used the GEMFAN props. I used the HQ one for about a month and i get ridiculous vibration at under 20% throttles.

Bonjour! 👋🏾 I also have the chimera 7 pro, but now with the Helion, a long range beast, I’ll fly in the French alps for my review 😉 By the way I don’t fly with gloves, it is impossible to get enough hand motor skills (motricité in French) so I bought last year a pouch for my radio, it is called startrc, so if you find it, I think it will be very useful! P.S: one day I’ll be back to Lofoten and fly like you! Good video bro ✌🏾
Good question!!!! As far as I know just a few people will make it for you! I have my buddy here in Norway he cut them for me! DM him instagram.com/luft.media.designs?igshid=NGVhN2U2NjQ0Yg==
Hi, If you were using the dji o3 unit, how did you link up that controller, could i fly that range with stock dji o3 gear with goggle 2 and controller 2? does having the controller you have allow the range to be further?
Yes and NO! I would never suggest someone to fly with the DJI controller for the only fact that if you fly too far your Video with cut before your controller then you can activate GPS! And there is the redundancy that you have by having 2 systematic one fail then you can have the one. But with the DJI controller if your image is gone then your controller is gone to. I have heard you can go pretty far with the controller but I wouldn’t trust it! Check Mads Tech he went in details on it!
a beautiful drone. I would also like to buy it, is that battery protection included with the drone or does it have to be purchased separately? I think it's very functional. Thanks if you answer me.
Nice! Those spots are beautiful mate. Great video. The helion is definitely one of the sleekest big quads I’ve seen. Puts my 9 inch GEPRC Pulsar 9 to shame! Have you tried Li-ions with it yet for longer flight times? Or have 4500mah Lipos been enough?
I have stop flying with li-ions in for a long time. Only because when diving that fast and you need to bailed out for some reason, then I will need that punch out! As well that is the reason behind Helion to carry bigger Lipos or 2x 4500mah for the longest possible flight time.
So… please let me understand… 2 x 5000 mah LIPO, for exemple Would be more efficient than that 8.000 Iflight Lion battery, right ? Because of the more stronger punchs?
Not more efficient but you will get there faster and come back faster because of the stronger Amp pulling. you can go all the way to 3.2 with the Lion but you can only go to 3.4 with Lipo.
Absolutely STUNNING, wicked footage and flying! Did you make the battery landing gear yourself, or purchase it somewhere or is there a STML file online somewhere to print them?
Awsome video. Juat got mine in last night nervous as always. Did u leave all settings stock and just turned on gps ? Was all settings fir gps already setup
Also because of the additional weight from the motors and frame, I just don’t see it being more efficient than the Chimeras and get more range on the same battery (I would be happier with 5 - 10% more range). For $ 200 more, it needs to offer more functionality than the Chimera line for me to consider it.
How do you fly in nationalparks and naturverneområder? If you ever want one more to tag along btw I'm in Southern Norway and just moving from an Avata to an LR :)
I don't really see the point of the top shell cover, it takes away the utility of a top mount battery, and without landing legs it's just going to wear on those expensive batteries. This one really looks like a case of aesthetics over functionality.
hi, great, sorry, I don't speak English, I will use translator, in general which is better in your opinion for long range, for example the Helion or Chimera 7 pro v2?,,,,,,y where I could get the accessory that you put under the battery of the Helion and if you advise it and does not affect the flight?,,,,thanks!!!!!👍👍👍
Yow!!!! If you are just starting on FPV I would recommend taking something smaller than these 2 you mention. If you are a advance on Long range and want to get deeper on it then the Helion is your best bet. You get about 1.5 time the flight time of the chimera with Helion but that come with a big risk of lossing your drone since you will want to go further and so on.
@@babang_des Excellent, I would like to know about the base or structure of the battery you have for the Helion, does it affect the flight and where did you buy it? ,,,,ya I bought the Helion but it has not arrived yet, thanks!!!!
I have an affiliate link in the description where you can buy a similar on. It actually feels like i have nothing on the Helion since that thing a powerful beast of a quad.
@@babang_des I'm sorry, I don't speak English, maybe you made that part of the battery holder, because in the affiliate links on the iflight website there is nothing similar to what you have installed on the Helion battery holder, I would appreciate if you help me with that, thanks!👍
Hey my man! How has your experience been with "the jello"? After looking into the Helion for the past weeks I have come across A LOT of people complaining about it and that the footage just wont be stabile even in post. New Betaflight firmware, new prope etc, people have tried it all. What's your take on it?
Banger video, you could add a quick release, like you have on the cinelifter with the smallrig vmount. You are using the same battery as the lifter anyways so it could be an option.
Thanks for sharing! I for example dont like quick release on lifters as i use different quads so it is not modular. Also we did not want to make it heavier and give people more flexibility on battery sizes. A quick release makes it more complex. I hope that makes sense 🫶⭐️
Yeah I thought of the quick release but then I’ll have to limited myself with the battery configuration. But with that one I just pulled the battery back and slid another one in! And I only used these landing platform for taking off or landing in the snowy area.
@@EllisvanJason Yes I understand that it would be difficult to add this and i agree when shipping it out to people it is not an option, for various batteries, complexity and weight. I wouldnt have done it myself from a manufacturer standpoint. But since he allready added the bottom feet for himself it could be an option for him to deside. Since he has the same lifter system that I use. I am just spitting the comment out for the discussion. Surely will get one next year and test out myself at some point. I do fancy your design and the work you put into the quads great job and setting the new standard🙌🫶
nice one babang, the only point I am worry about is :) to buy BNF .. I want and need to build everything mylself :) otherwise I am not happy with me :) but yes it makes some sense to have this setup for a lot of people. I done similar range and plenty of efficiency also with the Blackmagic lepigeon s rig in the mountains, its heavy and with 5000lipo also 4000lipo I ripped the glaciers .. I must admit the text you guys done on an epic spot! damn..
I have gotten my Helion 10 too and there is 2 Things u have to keep in mind if u want good footage: 1: The Part where u put the Mount on for ur Action Camera is too stiff i recommend printing one with TPU 2: You have to Print a Part to stiffen out the Antennas too they give to much vibration to the Quad 3: Maybe to some Tuning with it to get rid of the bad Noise ( especially in the Roll )
Hey great video dude ! Living in the french Alps i've been thinking a lot about getting a long range drone. This one seems pretty good. I never flew over a 5inch does it makes a big difference ? Obviously I won't do freestyle with it but can you still hit some rolls or stuff like that (I love to implement just a lil bit of freestyle or some king of maneuver that a cinematic/angle mode drones can't do while diving mountains) ? Also is this video sponsored by Iflight ? And did you like the drone, would you recommend this one over the chimera 7 ? Again really cool video beautiful flight ! Thanks for the content and have a nice day, you have a new sub :D.
Yow!!!! This new one is a bit more complicated! You can do some light freestyle with it but I wouldn’t go full crazy with it. I have done a few barrel roll with it while diving and as I said, there is a lot power in it. You can do almost everything with it. Except it’s heavy so you have to think before doing any tricks.
@@babang_des Thanks for the answer ! Yes obviously I would not try to land some juicy flick through a gap with this beast. I was wondering if it was agile enough to do some cool maneuver :D. Again thanks for the great video !
I’m using the 4500mah lipo from tattoo. This is as minimum requirement. But you can actually have 2X 4500mah in parallel.😂 A friend of mine is flying with 5200mah.
Well you said ask questions and it looks like you are answering everyone, so that's amazing. So I'll ask. First of all, know that I've never flown FPV. I'M use to DJI Mavics, mavic pro, platinum snd minis. I like what I see about this Helion 10. my question is: 1. Does it require a cell phone ever? Like, does it HAVE to have an app and stupid F'n updates and such. Does it get all kinds of no fly zone restrictions. I want a drone, where I can take it to a remote 3rd world country and fly it say across the amazon rainforest without it tellin me it needs some stupid update or internet service. So, do I only need the drone, batteries, goggles and remote?
Hahahah I’ll try to answer. First of all you will need the entire thing if you need to get into FPV remot, goggles and drone. No need for phones or internet. But you will the. Have to learn the regulations or where you will be flying which means lots of research and learning. It is not as easy as flying a mavic so I wouldn’t start with a Helion. Probably something smaller.
Preheat those batteries before flying you'll get less sag. Stick them on your defroster and preheat them to get maximum performance. Stay in your car and SEND IT
Yeah these batteries were over 2 years old and they were pretty warm when I flew them. I had them on the front seat floor, with the heat on them for over an hour while driving.
I cannot call it very efficient nor long range. At the peak of a mountain your batt was already below 3.8 🤔🙈 I have achieved same or better results with 5” (5.1 props) 2506 1850kv motors and 1300mah 6S, it was -18 light breeze, take off altitude ~2500m and climbing 1km up about 2km away from me, landed at 3.3-3.4v. I was hoping that almighty Helion would be more efficient, like 4v at the peak of the mountain or so. Perhaps your battery was not in mint condition or very cold, idk.
Im happy you mentioned that at the end because that battery no is long gone. I have been using it for a bit over 2 years now and I need to make a new video using a brand new 4500mh . Thanks for pointing that out
Hi buddy, good luck with your channel. I am also in the hobby and I like a lot your type of content. I also think Chimera 7 Pro V2 with O3 is great. I fly it with 8A 6S2P DIY LiIon packs. I get about 20 min of flight. But would be interested to try a 10 inch 💪🏼🤘

Yow! Thanks! A buddy of mine made it

Awsome video. Juat got mine in last night nervous as always. Did u leave all settings stock and just turned on gps ? Was all settings fir gps already setup
I didn't! I have another video on GPS check it out! With the new Betaflight 4.5
Awesome flying.
Thanks 👍
Also because of the additional weight from the motors and frame, I just don’t see it being more efficient than the Chimeras and get more range on the same battery (I would be happier with 5 - 10% more range). For $ 200 more, it needs to offer more functionality than the Chimera line for me to consider it.
I think what I’ll do for is to fly both of them together! I fly the chimera and @philip flies the Helion and show you the advantages of the Helion.
Hu
🤔
How do you fly in nationalparks and naturverneområder? If you ever want one more to tag along btw I'm in Southern Norway and just moving from an Avata to an LR :)
You can just apply sometimes they say yes sometimes they won’t
I don't really see the point of the top shell cover, it takes away the utility of a top mount battery, and without landing legs it's just going to wear on those expensive batteries. This one really looks like a case of aesthetics over functionality.
I see your point! But top mounting or bottom mounting is a preferred option for different people.
i feel like a bird watching thees mesmerizing shots
That is actually the idea 😂
How long this fly.how much battery go on the fly time
With a 4500mah I got 15mnt but if you use the 5200mah you can get up to 18+ minutes. Depending on how hard you fly
hi, great, sorry, I don't speak English, I will use translator, in general which is better in your opinion for long range, for example the Helion or Chimera 7 pro v2?,,,,,,y where I could get the accessory that you put under the battery of the Helion and if you advise it and does not affect the flight?,,,,thanks!!!!!👍👍👍
Mine is a custom built one! But iflight has one that works well
Hey my man! How has your experience been with "the jello"? After looking into the Helion for the past weeks I have come across A LOT of people complaining about it and that the footage just wont be stabile even in post. New Betaflight firmware, new prope etc, people have tried it all. What's your take on it?
I saw your Email I’ll send it to you today!
what the landing gear you use?
A bud of mine made it!
@@babang_des Thank you for the reply =D Good job on the video man 😎 Waiting for the next video with the night surfing with the new leds😍
@@babang_des Also liked the technical part with the gps and stuff, as we get to know the Helion better =D
Where did you get the Landing gear from?
A buddy of mine custom made it for me. I can put you in contact if you want.
There you go instagram.com/luft.media.designs?igshid=NGVhN2U2NjQ0Yg==
nice one babang, the only point I am worry about is :) to buy BNF .. I must admit the text you guys done on an epic spot! damn..
Thanks man!!!! Yes it is a nice rig and I have the same problem as you, I love building my own rigs 😂🫶🏾
I have gotten my Helion 10 too and there is 2 Things u have to keep in mind if u want good footage:
1: The Part where u put the Mount on for ur Action Camera is too stiff i recommend printing one with TPU
2: You have to Print a Part to stiffen out the Antennas too they give to much vibration to the Quad
3: Maybe to some Tuning with it to get rid of the bad Noise ( especially in the Roll )
Awesome thanks for the tips 🫶🏾
Yes it is. you can actually do some light acro but it is heavy feel almost the same as a 7"
Great review! What battery are you using with the Helion?
I’m using the 4500mah lipo from tattoo. This is as minimum requirement. But you can actually have 2X 4500mah in parallel.😂
A friend of mine is flying with 5200mah.
That's a remarkable thousands of euros chase mate
Yeah thanks!!!!
Beautiful video, my air 2s can do that no problems with almost 30 mins battery life
Hahahah! Then you should show us how to🫣
Well you said ask questions and it looks like you are answering everyone, so that's amazing. So I'll ask.
First of all, know that I've never flown FPV. I'M use to DJI Mavics, mavic pro, platinum snd minis.
I like what I see about this Helion 10.
my question is:
@@babang_des thanks. I'll do the similation flying and all first.
I will still suggest start small!
@@babang_des uurgh.... alright. I will listen then.

that thing is an actual monster.
it just hopped up that mountain like it wasn't a thing.
Yes with the weight I was thinking it will be slow climbing but climb like there was nothing.
For long range. Set your DJI O3 to Channel one. and turn off auto mode. FYI.
I usually do! But that was the first flight with Helion and there were things I didn’t went through. Thanks
any reason why stick to channel 1? and auto mode off?
Channel one has most power output
@@JohnIn2SonAZ o man now i know this… auto u mean 2.4 5.8ghz auto right?
I don’t think that’s what he meant

Welcome aboard! Hahaha 😂
Hi
7 is actually pretty big ok
Hahahahah 😂
Thanks for pointing that out
@@babang_des will be looking forward to see the updated review with a fresh batt 👍🏻
Yeah working on it and should be coming up in the next weeks
Hi buddy, good luck with your channel. I am also in the hobby and I like a lot your type of content. I also think Chimera 7 Pro V2 with O3 is great. I fly it with 8A 6S2P DIY LiIon packs. I get about 20 min of flight. But would be interested to try a 10 inch 💪🏼🤘
I flew the Chimera for years and im happy with that set up.
