    I've been considering paying for this upgrade to my 2012 forester, but I think I'm set on doing it myself it now after watching your video. I'm pretty handy, but finding good information to go forth with is very difficult these days. Thank you for being so clear and straightforward in your video.. it means a lot to observe, and therefore learn, a new skill or task from somebody who has actually done it themselves.
    Cheers from Canada~

    I just found your videos!! Dude, very informative!!!! Thank you so much for the time you put into each and every subi mod… I have a 2004 forester XT.
    I just ordered the 06 Wrx front and back calipers, pads and rotors … looks like I need the bracket. Once these parts arrive, I’m assuming just follow the video and I’m good to go! ( assuming this exact method works on my 2004 forester XT…. Right? )

    Having done this mod on my own 04 XT it really is an awesome mod both in looks and performance upgrade and very cost effective, I chose to source some 06 WRX rear hubs with only 30k miles from a parts wrecker for a proper engineered solution.

    • @DIYEVERYTHING

      Yeah, I love the look and really wanted to swap the knuckles but thinking about the possibility of breaking or fighting with "THAT BOLT", this was the faster and more affordable option. Thanks for watching.

      I think you have drum breaks in the rear so you would need the knuckles from a wrx and the proportioning valve. A lot of extra work with no real benefit but it can be done.

    Great video, can I have the PART NUMBERS please for the pads, both FRONT and REAR and the part number/full model number for the ADAPTER please, for the rear? Did you have to use the spacers for the wheels because of the adapters? Thanks

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  3 роки тому

      Yes, the stock 16s won't fit over the caliper. The 2012 WRX wheels I used clear but are a bit close to the coilovers so I may add a 5mm spacer in the future. If you google these rims, you will find the specs for width and offset, use that as a starting point for your search. Good luck.

    • @DIYEVERYTHING

      The links are correct. When I first ordered the rear I ordered them wrong but once I got it sorted out with the right ones, I used that link. The rear rotors for the wrx are larger than the forester; but the front ones are exactly the same.

    • @DIYEVERYTHING
      @DIYEVERYTHING  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, the rear will need the adapters to fit or you could find the WRX knuckles but the adapters are faster and won't hit the wallet as hard. The rear dust shields will need to be removed.

  • @Blanco_SubieForester

    I tried putting those longer bolts for the rear adapter and didn’t work out for me,

    • @DIYEVERYTHING

      Brembos are larger and can dissipate heat faster so they are better on the track. As for daily use, there is no noticeable difference between any of the three types of brake calipers. It's really all cosmetic.
