  • Since the start of Putin's invasion in Ukraine, thousands of Russian men and families have fled, the majority escaping Russia’s military draft. Many are making their way to Mexico where they spend weeks on end waiting to enter the United States and claim asylum.

      @@ThePhantom712 you'd have to apply for a biometric passport first. then get to the border. have funds to stay afloat abroad for quite some time. all of it costs money & takes time and not everyone can afford it. in september, all plane & train ticket prices skyrocketed because most were sold out (idk about now). people had to travel by car for thousands of kms and stay in traffic for days before the opportunity to actually cross the border. so yeah, only the privileged and desperate ones could leave the country.

      It's a matter of wishes. For example, 1-bedroom apartment in Moscow costs 150 000$, it's enough to buy an airplane ticket and book hotels. A poor man from small cities can take a credit to buy tickets.

      Sorry, but replacing one Imperialist military for another isn't anything to be proud of. We undertook this journey as a family a year ago. Now, more than ever, my family and I understand the feelings of these people. It's indescribable; it's a nightmare. It's difficult to convey the path one must now take to get from Russia to the USA. In terms of stress, it's comparable only to the death of a loved one.
    My wife and I, both medical professionals, lost everything: good jobs, a business, our standing. We had to leave everything behind for the sake of saving our child's life and our own. Since 2014, we haven't supported the current regime in Russia,but the opposition itself is weak and fragmented in this country. Before the war, remnants of the opposition were simply exterminated, and expressing one's opinion was dangerous. Now, you can end up in prison for several years for a drawing or a poster with a couple of words. I don't believe that anything will change in Russia, even when the bloodthirsty monster Putin dies. There won't be democracy in this country for a very long time, and it will never be safe here.
    I'm glad that everyone who can and wants to is fleeing. Usually, these people are capable, hardworking, and intelligent.They are incredibly resilient psychologically because going through this path now is already a feat. Russia doesn't need these people; let them contribute to civilized countries like the USA. Good luck to them!"

    Mexico needs to take advantage of this situation and not for selfish reasons. For one, many cultures and nationalities are "stranded" along the border. Look at what the Haitians are doing in Tijuana. They are setting up their Little Haiti's with prosperous small businesses, helping out the local economy, heck there's even Asian communities in Mexicali and by Monterrey. Not just that, but it would be a rich cultural hodgepodge of various nationalities just in Mexico. Little Haiti's, Chinatowns and Koreatowns next to Russian Orthodox churches in Mexico, not only would it be a economic and human capital enrichment, but a cultural one as well. Imagine the possibilities....🤔🤔🤔

Im just going of pure statistics & statistically Mexico is a war zone crippled by corrupt officials. 95% of my family lives in Mexico & i remember when i was 11 we could no longer visit them because mexico had become way too dangerous even just to visit ( mind you my entire family is Mexican people & not foreigners ) im 21 for reference. • @wakandaforever2401
      @wakandaforever2401 Рік тому +14

      The U.S. military moved away from a conscription force after Vietnam because of the various issues that come from it. That's why it's a highly professional, all volunteer force nowadays. The U.S. government will never institute a draft for a war like Vietnam again because doing so is literally politcal suicide. The only time a draft could be initiated is if the Russo-Ukrainian war escalates further, or if China invades Taiwan, both of which are events that I think will cause an increase in volunteer numbers, so the draft may not be fully necessary.
