Am I the only one here that likes this anime-
nope
For me, I think Nagi No Asukara could best be described as a slice of life anime. If the intention of the anime was to create an interesting and deep plot then it didn’t do so well. But personally, I feel the anime showed an overall theme of Change and how people handle it. I mostly forgot the “big” plot points but I definitely remember how I felt while watching it. I myself am someone who fears change, so I resonated with Chisaki and could understand her paralyzing fear of things being different. And then the whole time leap showed change and the struggle with that. Mostly, I feel like the anime was delving into the common emotional strains people can have instead of an intriguing plot. I watched it long ago but that’s how I remember it.
Really liked the last episode when hikari saved the girl with black hair i feel like he did develop feelings for her just that he loved monaka but i really like it when he saves the girl with black hair it’s just so cool
My biggest complaint of Nagi no Asukara: HOW TF can you cook food with water UNDER water.......with a pot?!!!??!!?
The same way you can breath underwater. Fantasy innit.
Why you getting into so much into detail?
Anime logic 👌
Also the TVs and telephones lmao
Honestly it was pretty yes, but it was so empty to me. I literally can't remember anything that happened. Gave up after half a season because it was so boring
i feel the same until second half of show, it really has atmosphere setting, and set a really special place in my heart, maybe just me but im still love it
So like no joke, I was able to make a 3D house with this giant love triangle
idk bro, I think spongebob proves the underwater shit terribly wrong. People can have suspension of disbelief, or simply not care at mass. Rule of cool
i like your vids dude
I love the way you add more and more faces to the "love-XXXhedron"
_lol_
I think the story could of been cleaned up a little if Tsumugu and Chisaki would of been together and had their own child after the time skip. Sayo and Kaname had the best moment, the kid who was upfront about his feelings with Chisaki, now is confronted by Sayo and her love. I was hoping Manaka would stay hidden longer so Hikari and Miuna could develop, but plot love is unbeatable.
I shipped manaka and tsumugu but its like you said the plot romance is just too powerful
Just watched this show thanks for the review. My description was I enjoyed binging it but it wasn't a great show. It's a good slice of life but it lacks with the hidden potential it shows but doesn't capitalize on. the time skip kept it refreshing imo. My biggest complaint was the ending. We spend the entire show with these characters trying to come to terms with the feelings they can either can or can't express. Kaneme gets a pretty satisfying conclusion. But the other couples have no actual ending. Okay so this show wanted to be different than other romance animes that's just fine, but then give us some kind of ending. The show ends where they save Shioshishio and nothing comes from the main cast. I liked the idea Tsugumu liked Chisaki but he was bad at showing emotion (which he admits to) and he knows how she felt about Hikari. But even after he proves to her he loves her and she loves him, it ends for them like none of that really came to pass. Hikari and Manaka are worse, he finally admits to loving her, she admits to loving him, and it ends where they sit together and say nothing needs to change and they don't need to say what they feel since "they know". THE WHOLE SHOW IS ABOUT COPING WITH CHANGE AND REALIZING YOU NEED TO EXPRESS YOUR FEELINGS SOMEWAY. Give us a kiss, an admittance of love, something more than just, oh well let's go back to normal after hearing love confessions without them being said to those specific individuals.
im proud you referenced gunbuster
did u do a Dull in the sea on purpose cause thats soo rude, i luv this 1
well, its my favourite slice of life tho
Fine anime thouh
Rip :c
:c
Nagi no Asukara is a show that has a special place in my heart, easily in my top 10 anime, so it makes me sad to see you not enjoy it. Many of the reasons I love the show so much were very personal, so I totally get why you didn't enjoy it. I'm a sucker for an engaging and immersive atmosphere so I loved that. I care about backgrounds, stills and stunning shots more than consistently well done animation so I loved the art style. The stellar score sits as one of my favorite soundtracks in anime. I'm a sucker for romances and coming of age stories. With all of that combined into one package, Nagi no Asukara completely resonated with me at the time, and it became one of my favorites in the medium.
That being said, while I disagree with some of your opinions, now looking back on the show, I can totally see why you would think this way. I still think it's a bit of a shame that you didn't like it but I guess it's not your kind of show.
Makes me a bit curious: Have you seen Hanasaku Iroha? It has a lot of the strengths of Nagi no Asukara but without a huge focus on the typical anime romance and the cliches that come with it. It's a fantastic slice of life coming of age show and I think you'll enjoy that one a bit more than Nagi no Asukara.
I haven't seen Hanasaku Iroha, and don't know a whole lot about it aside from occasionally being mentioned in the same breath as Shirobako and Sakura Quest -- both of which I enjoyed, so I do plan to get to it one day.
It only got a passing mention in the video, but NagiAsu's music was definitely good. No complaints from me there. I can be a big fan of romance too, but so much of NagiAsu felt like little more than circular melodrama to me, as opposed to actual romantic development.
Please review Kokoro Connect my guy
I could not..I repeat...could NOT stand the damn love triangles with everyone!
I do say I like the story... but I always hated how often manaka cried and ran away
I'm glad you didn't like it, now i feel less lonely about it.
Could you review "Daily Lives of Highschool Boys / Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou" , it's in my top 3 Anime I've seen and i would love to hear your opinion on it.
Nice video as always!
Same. This series made me feel hollow
Mari Okada generally makes pretty unlikable characters, but generally I've been able to either find them interesting or at least the dynamics and/or parallels between some of the characters to be. I didn't get that from Nagi No Asukara.
A lot of NnA felt like a worse version of True Tears to me.
I enjoyed the anime for the first part. the time skip was refreshing and mysterious, however, the second part of the story feels too repetitive with more love triangles and non of the characters changed despite growing up. There wasn't much growth with the characters from the beginning to the end, they just blinding chasing after the same crush since the beginning of the show. Even though few characters found their pairing in the end, but they feel very forced. It is as if they only be with the other people because they couldn't get their first crush. it's kind of unfulfilling.
Agreed
I really wanted Hikari x Chisaki
Wait so the love polygon never resolves? Well thank god I stopped because now I'm definitely not finishing it. That shit was annoying.
When I first read the synopsis before there was any art released for the show I thought it was going to be people living underwater in submarine like cities, and I was hyped, then really let down. I agree completely, full of potential, some solid execution and a lot of passion for the project. And a lot of narrative "meh".
Review kids on the slope
I love this anime but i really hate chisaki and tsumugu
What’s wrong with Tsumugu?
Oh wow. Awesome. Such an amazing show. Such really interesting character dynamics and a truly heartfelt story. Sucks you missed that. But whatever.
Opinions are a thing
KidSnivy96 sure they are. 😉.
It doesn't come across you comment
@@KidSnivy69 sure you can have an opinion but what makes it right.
