Chihayafuru is one of those shows that I find to be extremly underappreciated, which I find a bit sad. I mean it's not a perfect creation of anime storytelling or anything, but I feel like it's something that is really worth watching.
I binged the whole show like 8 months ago and is currently more or less caught up with the manga. I really enjoy it, despite me having some issues with it here and there. I just find it to be really charming and enjoyable, I guess, both the believable and well written characters and the karuta matches themselves.
Viktor Berggren exactly. It's nowhere near a masterpiece but everything about it is solid. The characters are fun and likable.
It actually took me 2 months to finish the series and my only criticism is season 1
Chihayafuru manga is a lot better only because of the content. The characters develop way more as well as their relationships. Anime imo 8/10 and manga 9 or 10. Hoping for season 3.

True but the anime partically in the 2nd season is pretty much the best of the show .I remember watching the show last year in November and it took me two months because season 2 was great
I think that if you’re looking for a different anime experience then you should definitely watch chihayafuru. I found out about this anime in a video talking about underrated animes. I was bored so I gave it a try. After binge watching the 2 seasons I was completely in love with the anime. The character development in this anime is really good (specially for Taichi if you read the manga). And we can relate to many characters and situations in real life. Also this introduced me to the world of karuta. I find the ogura hyakunin issu (100 poems) really fascinating. The anime shows many emotions and will surely make you feel exited, sad, happy, anxious and definable surprised. I find that this is a really underrated show and would love it to have a bigger fanbase. This anime is not the best anime of all time, but definitely worth watching for anyone looking for a really well made anime. (Also a great love triangle hehe)

great video. i like to judge a show by how fast an episode goes by. if it seems like it just started but ends almost immediately i really enjoyed it. if it seems to drag on its eh. some of the episodes of this one just flew by. like wait, its over already?! shame about no season 3 yet.

Have you seen Space Battleship Yamato 2199 yet ? That's a A tier anime for most but a S tier in mine. Just make sure you watch the movie after the series too.

Really good series but I heard the series was supposed to end in 2019 but it looks like it won’t happen for a while but regardless it’s a good series that has a good story about karuta .Season 1 is kinda allright but season 2 and season 3 which i know you haven’t used this channel in years is great

I have, and I enjoyed it. It's a very odd comedy, and I definitely didn't understand all its references, but it was a uniquely memorable show. I'm afraid I don't have much to say specifically, it's been a couple years.

Anime with adult characters are so rare.
There is only so much high school nonsense one can take.
Though admittedly having an adult cast isn't a guarantee it's good.

Loved the series and found your review spot on. Only annoying thing about the show and the plot was the silly and generic reason why the Ak kid quit the game in the beginning . His grandfather died while he was at a match? His world champion grandad who taught him how to play? And his reaction to his friends who try and see him in his own town is appalling and stupid considering it was so much about finding his first friends. I almost quit the show in those early episodes, but glad I didn’t because it got much better from there. I really loved the protagonist’s character and how her beauty wasn’t exploited at some stupid drama. It’s not ignored but also not played up or seem to shape who she was. Although she probably would have 10 boys following her no matter what she did.
To be honest the plot is fine I just didn’t care for too much of the supporting characters
I never made it through more than the first 4 or so episodes, because it was slow and the drama felt so much like something i saw hundred times before. Not sure if i will give it another try ever.

Can you please please...please for the love of god do Rosario vampire...so much damn potential and it was thrown to the fucken garbage. It pulled a Tokyo ghoul before Tokyo ghoul pulled a Tokyo ghoul please.. people need to know that the manga is amazing.
He hasn’t been active on his channel in years
This is the anime where you can see that male MC is rarely seen on the scene but you'll keep hoping for him, Arata the (black hair w/ glasses)... and the supporting guy (pink hair eyelashes guy) even his always around w/ Chihaya in every episodes you'll just keeping him on the side.. since Arata is showing up in college, season 3 will be great if they balance the romance between the game, in this story.. this "karata card sport" doesn't make any sense anymore, they don't defend on verse word construction anymore, it reaches it's limits as a game.. in the end it defending mainly on luck... I'm not a manga reading but I think it's gonna be Chihaya x Arata since both of their names resembles that card game...
